Welcome to the next chapter of The Magic Knight, before starting the story. Let's answer some reviews:
Hellspam: I don't know, it depends. Yea, Le Fay is among my favorites especially the way her character is written by Makoto X Chelia. The rematch will be an epic fight.
Weslyschraepen: I have my reasons, but I haven't decided on anything yet.
Justin D: I always thought that their relationship was the older sister and younger brother kind based on their first meeting. Thanks for that, I thought that those would match him.
The Joint Front
The next day, everyone involved with the incident with Loki gathered in the spacious hall located in the Hyoudou Residence even the Sitri Team. All except for Odin and Rossweisse who left in order to contact their homeland to find a countermeasure against the new threat. Though with the Vali Team there, a lot of tension was in the air as a result of the trouble that they caused in the past…mainly involving the people whose house they were in. But, neither of them could disagree as Sirzechs has given agreed to it after being asked by Azazel.
However, all of them still had two threats before them, in the form of an evil god who all of them together may be able to combat; if not for his child whose strength far exceeded his parent and could even rival that of Ddraig and Albion when they were still alive. To make things worse, it had to be done with just their current members as the forces of the Heaven, Underworld, and Grigori were busy dealing with the Hero Faction.
Azazel who stood in front of the whiteboard set up in front of everyone writing down several plans about the fight against Loki had stopped and glanced towards Vali.
"First of all, Vali. What is your reason for cooperating with us?"
Azazel asked the question that everyone wanted to know aside from those who knew the maou descendant such as Lance and Yuuma. As such, Vali's response didn't shock them as he smiled in a manner that a lot of people found to be creepy to them.
"I just desire to fight Loki and Fenrir. Bikou and the others have already agreed to it. Does this reason not satisfy you?"
"Yeah, I'm not satisfied. But it's true that we want you as our manpower. Right now we are in a situation where each faction can't send their manpower to us because of the Hero-faction. There might be a connection between your team and the Hero Faction, but….. Due to your personality, there's no way that you would cooperate with the Hero Faction."
"Aside from one of them. We both try not to get involved with one another as much as possible. I'm still planning to fight Loki and Fenrir even if we aren't able to get your cooperation. Though if you don't cooperate with us, then we will still battle them while dragging all of you into it."
Vali said something that sounded more like a threat to most people.
Hearing that response from Vali caused Azazel to let out a slight sigh as if he were hearing the words of his own rebellious son.
"It seems like Sirzechs was thinking hard about this, but he said he won't be able to turn down the offer of you who is the sole survivor of the descendants of Old-Maou. He sure is a naive Maou, but I also think that it will be better to have you cooperate with us rather than letting you roam free."
There were a lot of people who agreed with Azazel on that end about working with Vali instead of just letting him do whatever he wanted. Rias and Sona had their own reasons for not trusting them, but they had more important matters to deal with.
"…Well, lets put this about Vali away for now. Now, let's move onto countermeasure against Loki. I'm planning on asking about Loki and Fenrir to a certain someone."
In response to what Azazel had said about him caused Vali to smirk a bit.
"Who do you plan on asking?"
Issei questioned not knowing that much about the Norse Faction aside from a couple of gods with Lance being the person to answer him.
"There's only one person who has that kind of information about Loki. Meaning that it would be his youngest kid."
"Another son? Who is it this time?"
"He is among the Five Great Dragon Kings, known as the Sleeping Dragon, Midgardsormr, Lance answered. To begin with, Midgardsormr is a dragon that Loki made, but despite his enormous power, his colossal size and lazy attitude…even the Norse Gods didn't know what they could have him do. In the end, they ordered him to just sleep in the depths of the ocean and at least do something when the world was about to end."
Hearing Lance explain that caused
"Well, he would be the obvious choice, but will Midgardsormr respond to our call?"
Vali questioned feelings a little unconvinced about the plan.
"I doubt that even a dragon king who sleeps more than I do would be able to resist after we open the dragon gate using the powers of Two Heavenly Dragons along with the other Dragon Kings, Fafnir, Vritra, and Tannin…if he wouldn't mind. Though bringing out his consciousness would be best since summoning his actual body would be a little more disastrous than summoning other dragons."
"Why's that?'"
Issei questioned with a confused look.
"I want you to imagine Great Red five to six times bigger in length being summoned, while all of us are in a single place. I don't doubt that even Tannin would look like a child in front of Midgardsormr."
Even though Lance said that in a joking manner it will sound that it would be disastrous. Meanwhile, Saji who was on the sidelines holding his hand out after hearing his name mentioned.
"…I'm sorry, Lance…. But, it sounded as if my name was mentioned…."
"No, I did mention you."
Lance replied in a matter-of-fact tone.
"I'm feeling a little pushed back since the people involved are all monsters."
"Don't look down on yourself. I don't think that Midgardsormr will respond if Avon or Qīnglóng involved, but if we count the three Dragon Kings, Fafnir, Tannin, and Vritra. The Two Heavenly Dragons, then I doubt that even the Sleeping Dragon will be able to ignore them."
Saji couldn't disagree with what Lance had said, but there was something about being around people who were at a far greater than him that caused him to feel out of place.
"I will go and talk to Shemhazai about the countermeasure for this. You guys stay on standby until I come back. Barakiel, follow me."
Azazel has spoken after Lance as he glanced in the direction of Barakiel who nodded his head.
Once the fallen angel leaders left, those who remained were the Lancelot Team, Gremory Team, Vali Team, and Sitri Teams. It would be an understatement to say that the atmosphere became tense. Not that it could be said for the Lancelot Team, but the Gremory Teams had certain issues with the Vali Team and the Sitri Team hadn't a single bit of interaction with along with the trouble that they caused in the past.
"Well, this atmosphere seems a little…tense…."
Lance mumbled out.
"I think the Vali Team may have left a big impression after the Three Faction Treaty."
"Then with that Bikou and Kuroka attacking Ise-kun, Rias-chan, and Koneko-chan."
"And their leader saying that they'll attack Loki and drag all of us in with them."
Xenovia in her usual tone, Jeanne in a cheery manner, and Yumi with a wry smile had added.
"Wow, and people used to say that I don't leave the best first impression."
Percy added after hearing all that from them.
"Then, there's what Bikou did."
Once Lance had said that the current Monkey King had waved his hand in the direction of Issei.
"Yo, Sekiryuutei. Can I go to the indoor pool on the floor below this one?"
"Wh-What?"
Hearing that random question from him had caused Issei to be surprised for a moment.
"Hey," Rias spoke up. "This house belongs to me and Ise. I won't let you do as you please."
Rias spoke back in her usual spoiled princess attitude with Bikou not being affected by it.
"Now~ Now~, let me use it. Switch Princess…."
Bang! With teary eyes, Rias smacked Bikou on the top of his head causing a loud sound that resulted in all of the people in the room to wince.
"Ouuuuuch! What was that for! Switch Princess!"
"You! Because of you, I….am being called weird names in the Underworld!"
"Who cares. Oppai Dragon, I also watch that show. I'm honored since the name I gave is being used."
"Nggggggh! What should I do with you….!"
Both Rias and Bikou started to argue with one another (well Rias was doing most of the yelling), while the former was wrapped in a red aura.
Meanwhile, on the sidelines, the swordsmen who wielded holy swords all crowded around Arthur who carried the strongest among holy swords, Caliburn. And the strongest among the Excalibur Fragments, Excalibur Ruler.
"S-So, this is the last among the Excaliburs. So amazing."
Irina was among the group of swordsmen who gathered around Arthur.
"Yes. Vali got information from his personal connections. And after comparing it to the scrolls that were passed in my family, we were able to find it. Though the location of it is a secret."
Arthur replied in a tone befitting a gentleman.
The group listening to Arthur consisted of Kiba along with Xenovia, Yumi, and Jeanne who were all curious about him; and headed in his direction during the 'argument' between Rias and Bikou. There was also Van who stood nearby listening to them.
Lance couldn't help but admire Irina's personality that could open up to other people without any issues. Their leader meanwhile was sitting on the couch holding a magic book in his head with the magic symbols on the front being related to the Norse Faction. It must have been due to him wanting to figure out a counter the norse-based magic wielded by Loki.
"…."
"…Nyan."
There was another group with the last member of the Vali Team who was in their group, which was Kuroka, who is the older sister of Koneko. Despite their familial bond, due to the incident in the past and the one that occurred near the end of the summer break, their relationship wasn't the friendliest.
"…Ko…Koneko-chan's sister is beautiful, but she is s…scary~."
Gasper also stood on the sidelines behind to his friend as Kuroka stood nearby, both of them were also joined by Ariel who listened in on their conversation diligently.
"Ah, so this is Koneko's older sister."
While Gasper looked a little scared of Kuroka, Ariel looked interested.
Seeing the scene played in front of him caused Lance to walk toward them in an attempt to dilute it before things started to get more heated and break out into conflict. After making it towards them, he placed his hand on top of the head of Gasper who was still cowering behind Koneko.
"Come on, Gasper. You can't hide behind girls, I thought that you wanted to be someone that could protect them instead."
Lance said in a comforting tone causing Gasper to feel a little better.
"I-I know, but Koneko-chan's sister is a little scary."
"Yea yea, I know, but you need to become someone that she can rely on sometimes."
"I know. I'll try being braver, Nii-sama."
Gasper replied as he nodded his head causing Ariel's eyes to light.
"Ohhhh! This is why Lancelot is the best! Providing advice even in this situation!"
Ariel said excitedly as she wrote down notes inside of a book that she pulled out from a golden magic-circles that has equations from angels. No one inside the room wanted to question where she got that from? Or why she got it? The main reason being that person who treated Ariel like a little sister leaked out a certain presence, which caused those questions from entering their mind or exited from their mouths.
"Huh? I thought someone might ask where I got this from?"
Ariel questioned under her breath, but she just continued writing in her journal at a speed where it would've been hard for normal people to follow with their eyes. Meanwhile, Lance turned his attention to Kuroka who smiled at him with a sensual look on her face mixed with a cat-like smile. Seeing that smile caused the woman on Lance's side to stare at Kuroka with a suspicious look.
"Kuroka, I don't think that it is a good thing for you to pick on Koneko-chan like that."
After saying that Issei had walked in their direction in order to walk Koneko from the area where her older sister was, the latter grasped his hand tightly.
"Hmm. It seems like you've become manlier since the last time we met. Could it mean that you've 'experience' a woman's body?"
"…ehhh."
In response to that question, Lance turned his head to the side as if avoiding it causing the cat-like smile to turn a lot wider. To a lesser extent Xenovia did something similar to the other girls from Lance's group looking towards the bluenette. No one in the room said anything, with the most common not caring or wasn't paying attention, but not everyone followed that example.
"Hahaha, looks like that Magic Knight…."
"Be silent til close to death."
Lance spoke over him and chanted what seemed like a spell, which seemed to have brought silence onto Bikou who realized that he couldn't speak. Noticing that caused Rias to sigh from relief seeing that the person who was causing her distress couldn't speak for a while.
"Not that's one headache out of the way. Now―"
Lick.
Lance stopped talking as he felt Kuroka licking his cheek with a flirtatious look.
"Wh-What was that for?"
The suddenness of it caused Lance to stop back as he placed his hand on the cheek that Kuroka had licked with somewhat reddened cheeks.
"Hmm, this doesn't seem to be the taste of a virgin."
He didn't know that much about senjutsu, but he didn't know whether or not she was able to tell that it wasn't one and it didn't help matters since the looks that she was giving him caused an odd feeling within him. For the ones who knew him, they had an idea of what that feeling within him was. For all his power and talent, the one things that Lance couldn't resist were anything that he found adorable such as youkai like nekomata.
"Hey, can I ask you for one favor nyaa~?"
"…what would that be?"
Lance questioned with a suspicious look along with the slightest hint of déjà vu.
"Would you try making a baby with me?"
[What?!]
All the girls on Lance's side shouted at the request of Kuroka with confusion and aggression shown on all of their faces. Though Kuroka continued without worrying about their issues with it.
"You know, I wanted the child of a dragon…an especially strong dragon. I asked Vali, but he turned me down. I thought about the Sekiryuutei, but that was until I met you. You come from three strong bloodlines and you're able to rival that of our leader. I couldn't ask for more if it carries genetics from the descendant of Lancelot and Merlin along with the strongest woman in heaven. I want to leave behind a child."
"I wonder where I've heard this before."
Lance said as he took a glance towards Xenovia who looked to be fuming at the moment.
"If you want we could head over to your room or wherever you want in your home nyaa~," Kuroka said to him in a flirtatious tone as she leaned closer to him pressing her voluptuous breasts that could rival Rias and Akeno and were barely contained in her kimono, which hung on her shoulders that she seemed to pulled down slowly with her hands. "Would you let me feel what it's like to be with an experienced man?
Lance didn't know how to respond, as it was due to that fact that Kuroka was a beautiful young woman and also a nekomata. Not that he would actually follow on with her request, but he couldn't but be almost taken in by the beauty of this neko. But, that ended after feeling a painful sensation from his cheeks. It was soon revealed to be his blue-haired queen who was wearing a faux smile on her face.
"I talked with the other girls. And I think that it is about time that you and Lancelot be separated."
"That huwts. That huwts, Xenovia."
Lance said in pain as he could tell that Xenovia was pulling him tighter and tighter by the moment, but Xenovia seemed to have ignored him.
"Oh, Queen-chan. You don't have to get so mad nyaa~"
Kuroka said in a nonchalant tone.
"I'm not mad," Xenovia said in her usual tone, but Lance, on the other hand, didn't think so based on the tears on the corners of his eyes as he smiled wryly. "Also let's get one thing straight…if anyone here is going to have his child, then it's going to be me."
Xenovia declared that causing the other girls to stare at her with a shocked look.
"Come on, Queen-chan. You don't have to hog him all to yourself, it's not like I'm opposed to having a three-way and I don't think that Lance-chan could be opposed to it either nyaa~"
Kuroka replied back causing the girls another shock after hearing that suggestion that came out of her mouth.
"I think that this is starting to get out of hand."
Yuuma who would usually go all yandere after hearing that was currently covering Ariel's ears that she wouldn't hear all of the inappropriate things that they were sprouting.
"How come you all of people talking bad about her," Yumi questioned. "You're just as bad as Kuroka."
"What I talk about doing with Lance-kun is between me and him," Yuuma replied as she continued to cover the ears of the young angel. "But, Ariel doesn't need to hear any of this."
"I guess you're right about that. I mean it's not like any of us hadn't said the same thing."
Yumi said as she glanced to the side after mumbling that last part with Jeanne hearing it and laughing.
"I feel like if I continue to hang about these girls, they won't be satisfied until they completely dry me out."
Lance thought to himself as he directed his eyes to the side.
After Azazel had returned, the group composed of Lance, Issei, Saji, Yuuma, and Vali had teleported from the Hyoudou Residence using the same magic circle that Azazel had used to leave and arrive. The location that the seven men had arrived was a pure white space, which was the same dimension used for the Rating Game. A lot of more preparations were needed in order to summon just the consciousness of the Midgardsormr.
Standing in the space waiting for them was a huge dragon who stood fifteen meters tall. It was a dragon none of them could forget, the former sixth member of the Dragon Kings, Tannin. Noticing their presence, the dragon had stared at all of them with a noticeable smirk for a number of them.
"It hasn't been that long since I last met all of you."
"Old Man!"
Issei called out after meeting his former trainer during the summer break.
"D…D…Dragon…. One of the Dragon Kings! An Ultimate-Class Devil…."
Saji had a different reaction that was mixed with nervousness and admiration, which wasn't shocking due to the specific nature of Tannin as one of the ranked people in the Rating Game.
"Don't get too nervous. I know that the Old Man looks scary on the outside, but he is a good dragon."
"I-Idiot! He is the Ultimate-Class Devil, Tannin-sama. To call him an O-Old Man!"
Issei didn't know why Saji was overreacting about Tannin, but it could have been due to the fact that Issei hung around him for an extended period of time during the summer break. But, Issei couldn't say that he didn't do the same thing after meeting him for the first time.
"Ultimate-Class Devils are those that only the chosen ones can become in the Underworld. Added to that Tannin-sama is one of the current Top Ten Ranker inside of the Rating Game, all of which are ultimate-class devils. The amount of contribution, the result in the game, your abilities, you can reach that rank when you receive the best estimate value in all of those areas. For devils, it is the best ranking there is."
Saji started to go into full detail about the identity of the former Dragon King in the Underworld. It wasn't at all a surprise since Sona plans on building a Rating Game School and Saji planned on becoming a teacher. Issei had wanted to reach for the title of an ultimate-class devil as well.
"Genshirou Saji, huh? I watched the rating game between Princess Rias and Sona, I was impressed that you, in spite of having one of the four fragments of Vritra's spirit was able to withstand blows from the one who carries a Heavenly Dragon and even defeat him despite the method."
"H-Huh, but I…." Saji started but recalled the words from both Sirzechs and Christian then let out a calm breath, then bowed his head in appreciation. "Thank you for the compliment Tannin-sama!"
Seeing this has caused both Lance and Issei to smirk for similar reasons.
"Well, he's gotten stronger if not in just his will. Now, I wonder when Azazel is going to tell him about that."
Lance wondered to himself as he noticed the confidence that Saji started to show compared to how he was after arriving in the dimension for the first time.
"Nice going pal!"
Issei said in an energetic tone while patting Saji on the back.
Tannin then turned his attention towards Vali who stood next to the others with his usual nonchalant expression.
"…Hakuryuukou," the former Dragon King gained the attention of Vali. "The moment that you show the slightest suspicious movement, I will bite you apart without hesitation."
Hearing that threat from Tannin caused Vali to make a bitter smile with Yuuma standing next to him and waving at the massive dragon standing before them.
"Don't worry, Tannin-san. If Vali-oniisan does anything, I'll put him back in line."
That response from Yuuma caused Vali to glance to the side with narrowed eyes.
"I can't tell which one I rather deal with."
Vali mumbled to himself in a tone that was low enough for no one else to hear.
Meanwhile, Azazel continued to work on the magic-circle along with Lance who thought that it would be far quicker if both of them worked together; and started to draw different symbols around the basic magic-circle that Azazel was working on. Neither Issei or Saji knew what the symbols meant, but they were unique to the dragons whose presence was needed to call Midgardsormr.
"But, will that guy actually come," Tannin questioned as he sighed a bit. "I've only met him two or three times."
"If the Two Heavenly Dragons are here, then he will have to respond whether he wants to or not."
Azazel replied to Tannin's question, which caused the former Dragon King to agree with him somewhat.
"Is he a difficult dragon?"
"That guy is basically a dragon who never moves. He is one of the creatures that will make his move at the end of the world. As such, Midgardsormr will sleep until his role is to start. He has come to the surface most times, but even at those times, he continued to sleep. Several hundred years ago, he finally declared that he would continue to sleep until the end of the world."
Tannin answered the question that Issei had asked him.
After hearing that from his former trainer, Issei wondered how someone like that became one of the Five Dragon Kings whose strength could rival that of the Four Great Satan. Before he could say anything else, Azazel called all of them after the magic-circle was finished.
"The basic magic-circle is completed. Now everyone, stand at the locations given."
Following the instruction of their adviser, Issei and Saji stood at the place that Lance had told him to stand prior to him beginning to draw the symbols. Tannin stood at his place along with Vali who was closer to Issei, Yuuma who was further from the two but stood next to Lance who still had Avon in his compact form at his side. Azazel, after standing at his place started to control a magic-circle in his hand, which caused the magic-circle to shine in a bright show.
In response to that, all of the separate symbols drawn all started to shine with a brilliant light and different colors based on the dragons that they represented. There place Issei stood it shined red; for Vali it shined white; for Saji it shined black; for Azazel it shined gold; for Tannin it shined purple; for Lance it shined platinum, and for Yuuma it shined azure blue. At the other spots that didn't have people in them, those places shined blue and green; both represented Tiamat and Yu-Long respectively.
At first, despite the magic-circle being activated, there wasn't a single response for a couple of minutes that all of them stood there. Though just as all of them were wondering if Midgardsormr would appear or not, there was a massive projection that appeared before them. The people most shocked were both Issei and Saji. This caused them to realize what Lance meant before arriving there.
Appearing before them was a colossal gray eastern dragon who was as explained larger than Great Red by five to six times around five-hundred to six-hundred meters in length.
[…GUGOGOGOGOGOGOOOOOOOOON!]
Loud snoring could be heard that echoed across the dimension causing some of the people there to cover their ears from the loudness of it.
"Jeez, he sure is loud."
Yuuma complained as she covered her ears.
"Like, I thought he's sleeping. Hey, wake up, Midgardsormr!"
Tannin shouted loud enough to catch the attention of the colossal dragon, who groggily opened one of its giant eyes to stare at all of them.
[…This nostalgic dragon pulse. Fuaaaaaaaaah….]
Midgardsormr sighed and opened his giant mouth that appeared it could swallow even Tannin whole.
[Oh, it's Tannin~ It's been a while.]
He spoke in a laid-back tone manner. Afterward, he looked around the area and realized the presence of three dragons that he knew.
[…Even Ddraig and Albion are here…. Including Fafnir…and Vritra…. …I don't recognize the azure one, but I do recall meeting Avon once….]
"You two have met? Why didn't you mention this before?"
Lance questioned after pulling out the Avalon Drakon from its holster, then Avon's voice could be heard enough for everyone else to hear him.
[I wouldn't say that we were associates, but there was a time when Avalon was an island that used to move from place to place to avoid detection and at one point we arrived at the sea were Midgardsormr had been sleeping.]
[…hmm…with all these dragons here…is it the end of the world?]
Midgardsormr questioned.
No, it isn't. The reason we came here today because there are things that we all needed to ask.
[…GU…GUGOGOGOGOGN….]
Midgardsormr started to drift back to sleep causing a tick mark to form on Tannin's forehead and shouted.
"Don't sleep! Geez, will you and Yu-Long never fix your attitudes?!"
Tannin shouted causing Midgardsormr to open his eyes again.
[….You're always angry Tannin…so what is this thing you wanted to ask me about?]
For this part, Lance stepped forward and answered.
"Long story short, your father is going on a rampage talking about starting ragnarök using your older brother."
[So it's about Wanwan and Daddy. Okay~. Daddy and Wanwan are beings I don't care about anyway…. Ah, but Tannin. Tell me one thing.]
Midgardsormr got the gist of what was going on after that short explanation from Lance but soon asked his own question for his fellow dragon. Though Lance took note of the "Wanwan" for later.
"What is it?"
[Aren't Ddraig and Albion going to fight?]
The colossal dragon questioned as he stared at both Issei and Vali using his enormous eyes.
"No, they aren't. This time they are planning to defeat Loki and Fenrir by joining forces."
[Heee, interesting…. I was wondering about it because both of them are standing together without fighting.]
Since that was all that Midgardsormr wanted to know, he went onto answering their question.
[Wanwan is more troublesome than Daddy. You would die most of the times if you were bitten by his fangs. But he has a weakness. The magic-chain Gleipnir that were created by the Dwarves can capture him. You can seal his movement with that.]
"We've already checked that. But from the reports from the Norse Faction, Gleipnir didn't work. That's why I had thought about getting another method from you."
[…..Hmm, maybe Daddy enhanced Wanwan. If that's the case then ask the Dark-Elves living in the certain land of the Norse Faction. If I remember, their elder knows a technique that is able to power-up the magic residing in the Dwarves' items. I will transmit the location of the place where the elder is living to the Sacred Gears of Ddraig and Albion along with the Avon.]
Hearing that from Midgardsormr caused Azazel to point at Lance and Vali.
"Send the information to Albion and Avon. The one who has Ddraig isn't unfortunate in the brain, but he isn't that good at handling things like this."
After hearing that from Azazel, Issei felt a little offended.
Though Lance became interested in this since he felt like he could learn about from the Dwarves and Elves who all have possibly the greatest knowledge in forging magical items. Though he didn't think that he would have a lot of time to visit their location when dealing with Loki but decided that he would do so in the future. Both him and Vali received the info from Midgardsormr via their sacred gears, but Vali was the first to speak up.
"I understood their locations. Azazel, activate the world map using the holographic vision."
Azazel pulled out his phone, then activated one of its features that caused a large holographic image of the world to appear in front of them. After staring at the map, Lance pointed to a certain point, which depicted the location of the Dark-Elves who could assist them in this specific task, while finding the location of the dwarves as well. As soon as he received the information from them, Azazel sent it to his comrades so that they could start acting.
"…Hou, you actually know that much."
Tannin said to Midgardsormr not expecting him to know that much due to his lazy nature.
[Yeah. When I went up to the land, the Elves and Dwarves took care of me.]
"So how do we take care of Loki?"
[Yeah~. Daddy would probably be okay if you use Mjölnir against him.]
Midgardsormr answered Tannin's second question but caused some hint of issues since the weapon in question was one that a god couldn't just hand off.
"In other words, we basically have to attack him normally, huh. But will the Thunder-God Thor lend us his Mjölnir if that shitty-geezer Odin asks him….."
"I doubt Thor will let us borrow it. That is one of the weapons only Gods can use."
Vali said the same thing that Lance was thinking.
"Would a replica work?"
Lance said something that caused Azazel to stare at him with a confused look.
"How do you know there's a replica?"
"Rossweisse mentioned it before that there was a replica of Mjölnir that was created and granted to the Dwarves and Dark-Elves."
[That's correct, they received a replica. So, if you ask, then they could lend it to you all.]
"We are saved thanks to your knowledge, Midgardsormr."
Azazel gave his gratitude with a smile.
[No no. Talking like this at times is fun. Now~, I will be going then. I will be sleeping again. Fuaaaaa~.]
Midgardsormr gave a big sigh as the vision started to become dimmer.
"Yeah, thanks."
[It's okay. Wake me up again if something happens.]
After hearing those words of gratitude from Azazel, Midgardsormr gave a big smile and soon after the vision had turned off along with the main magic-circle, symbols drawn on the ground vanishing. None of them could say that Midgardsormr wasn't the laziest person that they have ever met, but they couldn't say that he didn't assist all them by answering the most important questions that they needed answers to. All of them finally had an answer to dealing with both Loki and Fenrir.
On the next day, it was decided that everyone would skip school in order to get enough rest to deal with Loki and Fenrir. The members of the Occult Research Club and even the Student Council members decided that they will instead send familiars disguised as them. Lance knew that Sona wasn't completely into the idea of not being at school in case something happened, while she wasn't there; it was understandable as he knew that Sona loved Kuoh Academy and her everyday school life.
Speaking of Lance, he sitting in the outdoor seating area of a popular cafe with someone that no one would have guessed considering the people whose name both of them inherited. Staring at them with blushed cheeks were some of the female customers and waitresses who worked in the cafe.
"I was surprised that you asked me to come here, Lancelot."
"Oh, come on. It's been ages since we've last talked with each other like this."
Sitting in one of the tables of the outdoor seating area was Arthur and Lance who sat down facing one another.
"It's not that I don't like the chance to catch up with one another, I just thought that you would be preparing for the fight with Loki. You were always the kind of person who wouldn't take chances against anyone despite you being viewed as someone who just plays and jokes around."
Arthur has surmised knowing the kind of person that Lance was despite all the things that everyone said.
"There isn't that much I can do in terms of preparations, I mean I've already thought about what kind of method to use after the last fight ended with us being spared with the Ragnarök Addict leaving. I mean, it seems that norse-based magic has more of an effect on him and it should be enough to defend against his attacks. And the replica of Mjölnir should give up an edge against Loki and besides, I have several cards to play up my sleeve."
"That sounds like you."
Arthur replied as he smiled.
"Besides everyone in my team is going through some last minute preparation for the next fight against Loki and Fenrir. If we don't do this much, then we won't be able to put up that much of a fight. I was surprised to see all of you appearing there during that fight with Loki."
"Well, Vali thought it would be the most appropriate time to fight against Loki."
As the two of them continued to talk about the eventual fight with Loki, one of the waitresses who was staring at both of them with blushed cheeks approached them to take their order.
"Ahem. What refreshments would you two like?"
The waitress questioned as she stared at both of them.
"I would like the special order black tea."
"I would like the order two things," Lance replied after Arthur. "First, I would like a french vanilla coffee. Second, I would like the vanilla parfait with bananas and blackberries."
Lance ordered with Arthur laughing slightly while shaking his head as if he knew what his old friend was thinking.
"I will bring your orders in a moment. And just let me know if you would like to eat."
The waitress bowed her hand and walked away in a little bit of haste as her cheeks were still reddened.
"Well, she seemed to be in a bit of a rush."
Lance said in a joking manner realizing the reasons why.
"So it would seem."
"Well, I'll be right back. There's something that I need to do."
Lance said after standing up from his seat and walking off somewhere whistling away with both his hands inside of his pockets. Arthur just smiled a bit and waited there for him sitting down in a manner befitting a gentleman of England.
Meanwhile, watching them from a certain corner a little ways from the cafe, a figure wearing a large blue hat that had their face almost hidden. Their attention seemed to be locked on Lance alone, who walked away in another direction in a place where they couldn't see him without stepping from their hiding spot.
"Uhhh, where did Lancelot do?"
The person said in a tone of voice that revealed them to be a young girl.
"Uhhh, what am I going to say," she questioned herself as she hid behind the corner with various kinds of thoughts entering her head. "'Uh, hi Lancelot it has been a long time', no. 'Uh, hi it has been a long time', no. 'Hey, fancy meeting you here', no! Uhhh, what am I going to say?!"
"Well, I suppose that you could walk up and say hello."
"Yes, I guess that would work, but I want to sound…eh."
She finally realized the familiar voice that came from behind her, causing the young girl to turn around in order to face the source. Once she turned around, it was indeed Lance who was kneeling in front of the young girl with a smile on his face. It soon turns into a smirk as he reached his index finger forward and poked the tip of her nose.
"Hey, Fay."
"Iyaaaah!"
At his sudden appearance, the young girl that Lance called "Fay" stepped backward in a panic while screaming from not fear, but shock from the suddenness. Though she later stumbled outside of the corner, but soon begun to lose her footing as she flailed her arms around in a panic. The young girl would've landed down on her butt if it wasn't for Lance grasping her hand helping her regain her footing.
As soon as she stepped into the sunlight, the young girl was revealed to have blonde hair and blue eyes with a slim body; dressed in a school uniform that consisted of a gray blazer with blue plaid accents, a dress shirt with a black tie, black skirt, and shoes. The blonde-haired girl also wore a blue sorceress' robe with stars on it and a big blue hat with a black bow tied on it.
"As always, you're so cute when you're flustered."
Lance said after the blonde-haired girl helped herself up.
"L-Lancelot. How did you know that I was here, I thought that I used magic to conceal my presence."
"Well, if memory serves, I was the one who taught you that spell," Lance pointed out. "And hiding your presence doesn't really help if I can feel your gaze on the side of my head…if it were any harder, then I'm sure that a hole would've been bored into my head. I'm sure that even your brother over there knew that you were hiding."
Hearing that response from him caused the young girl to blush a deep shade of red.
"…."
The young girl glances away from him shyly as Lance continued to stand there as if waiting for something.
"Uh…," she started knowing what he was waiting there for and after taking a calming breath she said the words he was waiting. "Hey, it's been a long time, Lancelot."
"I'm happy to see you again, Le Fay."
Lance added after placing his head on top of her head.
The girl in question was Le Fay Pendragon, the descendant of King Arthur and Morgana Le Fay, in fact, she was also Arthur's little sister. After that little "encounter", both Lance and Le Fay walked over to the table where Arthur was sitting as if waiting for them.
"Hello, Le Fay."
Arthur greeted his little sister with a gentle smile, but she could tell that her older brother was teasing her.
"…brother Arthur."
Le Fay said in a low tone as she sat down hiding her face under her large hat.
[…hmm.] Avon spoke out with an interested tone, but it was just to himself as he started to think about. [Well, this is a sight that I never thought that I would see for a second time. Though, they're just their descendants. All three of them are together again. Lancelot. Arthur. And Le Fay.]
"Still you're so cute whenever you get flustered Fay."
Afterward, the waitress showed up carrying their orders on a dish, then noticed Le Fay sitting there dressed in her sorceress' outfit. Without needing to hear an answer, she could already tell the similarities between the male and female blondes sitting alongside Lance.
"Ah, is this your little sister?"
She decided to question as after noticing the adorable expression on the young blonde's face.
"Yes. I apologize if there were any inconvenience, she was a little late arriving."
Arthur gave his reason, aside from telling the truth that his sister was actually following behind them in an attempt to meet Lance again. Hearing his gentlemen response, the waitress shook her head as if she were instantly drawn in by Arthur.
"No no no, that's alright. But, I must say that your sister looks cute cosplaying as a magician."
Of course, the waitress wouldn't be able to tell that Le Fay was a genuine witch.
"I could cast a spell if you want~"
Le Fay said in a cute tone that caused the waitress to become more taken in by the foreign siblings.
"You're so cute~," the waitress said as she started placing their perspective drinks in front of them. "Would all of you like to order anything else."
"Yes, I would like to have…."
After a while, all of them started to give their orders to the waitress who happily took all of them down before walking off back into the cafe. Both Lance and Arthur started to drink their beverages, while Le Fay ate the parfait, which was ordered for her by Lance.
"Hmm, this is so good~"
Le Fay said as she took a bite of the parfait.
"Glad that you like it. I recall all the times that you used to follow me around after we met, which was weird since you hid behind Arthur for a while."
"I believe that it was due to the number of spells that you displayed for everyone after one of our relatives talked bad about you. Seeing that did cause a lot of people to be either in awe or fear."
"I was in awe," Le Fay said with stars in her eyes basically sparkling in her eyes. "All the spells that Lancelot had used had calculation and equations that I didn't expect to see from someone a little older than me. I thought that there would be a lot of things that I could learn from him and he did teach me a lot of spells. I truly appropriate all the things that Lancelot taught me about magic along with Fairy Magics. Not that I didn't learn just as much from my other magic teacher."
After hearing "that" person mentioned caused Arthur to pause for a moment before he started drinking his black tea again, which was something that Lance and Le Fay took notice off.
"Ah. Brother Arthur, I didn't…."
"No, it's alright Le Fay."
Arthur waved it off with a gentle smile directed at his little sister causing her to return to eating her parfait, which caused the three of them to become silent.
"So, what have you guys been up two since joining Vali's team?"
Lance asked the question that he had been wondering since seeing Arthur arrive to pick up both Bikou and Kuroka in the underworld near the end of the summer break. After hearing that question from him, Le Fay started smiling in an excited manner as she recalled all the moments that they had with the Vali Team.
"Being in the Vali Team isn't as bad as people would think, there are a lot of fun things that we do together. All of us goes on adventures to different locations around the various factions! Vali-sama is also attempting to find out where dragons originated from along with finding out more about the mysteries of the world's beginning and we also look for legendary strong people."
Le Fay started going more and more into detail about everything that they do while with the Vali Team along with all the childish antics from their most flamboyant teammates, Kuroka and Bikou. Lance couldn't help but smile at how happy that Le Fay was about being apart of the Vali Team with her older brother. Though he could also tell that behind that natural look on his face, Arthur didn't want his little sister involved with their group. It wasn't that surprising considering that they were a terrorist group that became enemies of the Three Faction along with all of the other factions due to their dangerous actions.
"Here's your food."
Later on, the waitress arrived carrying their food on the plate in her hand and placed it in front of them. After she succeeded in her job, she walked away after taking one more glance at the three people that she had served.
"I don't know why, but it seems like someone is missing from their group."
The waitress herself didn't know why she said that, but she didn't let it get to her.
"Well, let's eat."
Lance said in an energetic manner feeling a little happier than normal today.
As the three of them started to eat the food that was brought to them, both Lance and Arthur had hesitated for a moment after sensing someone's eyes on the three of them. It wasn't killing intent if so then Le Fay would have been able to feel it as well, which was why she just continued to eat. Though due to their training both Lance and Arthur were more inclined to things such as this. Despite feeling someone looking at the three of them, neither of them were unable to tell where they were. After a short while, whoever was looking at them vanished.
""Who was that?""
Both Lance and Arthur wondering to themselves.
Since the person didn't have the intent to either kill or attack them, neither of them made the slightest attempt to attack whoever was looking at them without reason. And so, they just started to eat the food brought to them by the waitress in peace. Meanwhile, on top of the roof further from them, the silver-clad knight was staring at the three of them with their eyes slightly lowering behind their helmet. For the first time, the person within the armor let out a sigh as if they weren't able to make up their mind. Soon enough a magic-circle had activated under them.
"…."
Without a single word exiting their mouth, the knight vanished using the magic-circle. Their reason for looking at the three of them being unknown, but behind their eyes was indeed a deep sadness.
A/N: And there goes chapter forty-two of The Magic Knight, I apologize for the lateness of their chapter. I had a lot of things going on and wasn't in my usual mood. Well, onto the chapter. It was as expected with all the people preparing for the fight with Loki. There was the encounter with Lance and Kuroka with his queen showing her attitude towards him paying attention to the nekomata. There was also them meeting up with the Sleep Dragon, Midgardsormr to come up with a strategy about dealing with Loki and Fenrir.
Finally, it became down to the official introduction of Le Fay Pendragon along with their reunion at one of the cafes in Kuoh. And in the end, the silver knight from the Uruk Team had appeared with their eyes on the three of them. What are their intentions with Lancelot, Arthur, and Le Fay?
