Big thanks to everyone taking the time to read this!

I know it's a bit short, forgive me, but I am a bit tired from last night!

. . . .

Hello, everyone! Since it is Halloween, I was watching a few of my favorite flicks and of course on the op of that list is "The Corpse Bride" from Tim Burton. A thought occurred to me and as a lot of my other fan fictions come about it was also a dream I had: What if somethings were changed, such as the characters involved? Let's give it a try! I present to you: The Mummy Groom! I do not own rights to the characters of "The Corpse Bride" nor Yu-Gi-Oh!

I hope you enjoy!

Summary: To save their family from the poorhouse, the head of the Gardner family has arranged for his daughter to marry the wealthy Kaiba's heir. Neither of the involved young adults wish for the union but what are they to do? Tea, distraught, decides to run away…but maybe that is the wrong choice of words. A mysterious man appears and offers a solution when an accident occurs.

The Mummy Groom

Stop That Wedding!

She held perfectly still as he circled her like a lion, making her the lamb as he kept close enough that his hot breath wafted her. "Before I'm married to the Kaiba's, there's something I need to get off my chest." One of her hands rose in time for one of her nails to trail against his arm, earning an almost husky sound from within his chest. His full attention was on her now…perfect. Her heart cried out in disgust as she cupped his chin within her palm, bringing their faces even closer. "I know you're not my uncle, have for a while now, and I have a confession to make."

Bakura's blood boiled as she shyly adjusted her skirt and it succeeded in only revealing more of her creamy flesh but he forced his tone to remain cool. "Oh, really? What makes you so sure of that?"

"Your physical features are completely different to those of my family and your eyes appear to be similar color to my own but when I was young I swore your eyes were dark brown. Besides, I've seen the way you look at me," she whispered, tilting her head to the right as she teasingly bit her lip. All of those days she had overheard the wives speaking of their alone time in the bedroom and the tricks they resorted to were going to pay off in these next few moments. The hand she had used to cup his chin drifted down to rest on his chest as he came even closer, the heat coming off of his body threatening to burn her. "And I can't hide the feelings I have anymore. Why must I marry a man I do not pine for? Why can't I marry you instead?"

His motions came to a sudden halt at her words, eyes returning to their normal brown as his lips lifted into the smile of a predator. He was nearly salivating with how close their bodies were but something wasn't sitting right. Bakura roughly buried a fist in her hair and forced her head backward so that her throat was completely exposed, earning a whimper and pain to flash brilliantly in her cobalt eyes for a moment. Adrenaline loudly pounded through his system like a drug as she attempted to break his hold that only succeeded in finding himself being wedged between her legs. "Oh, Tea," he huskily whispered, leaning forward so that his face met the area between her shoulder and neck. "You are nothing but a scared little sheep who has fallen prey to the ravenous lion." A glint entered his eyes as her expression became one of panic and fear as he bent her until the cold wood of the altar met her back.

Yugi came to a screeching halt in the middle of the alley as a muffled scream came from the church. If he turned back, what scene possibly awaited him? He couldn't just leave her to suffer at the hands of that crazy madman but what could he do?! An idea came to mind and he hurried to the museum. The black Egyptian Book of the Dead was right where he left it but it was turned to a completely different page. It must have been the spell that Bakura used to find Tea! His brows furrowed as the hieroglyphs blurred together but he quickly blinked away the exhaustion that had been creeping on him for the last several hours. The thought of what could possibly be happening back at the church though caused his body to heat, momentarily clearing his mind, and he realized with a start that the symbols were suddenly legible to him. He had never once been able to read the ancient language that his grandfather had studied for his whole life so what could have possibly changed that would make him capable of learning a whole new language? One of his hands grasped the trinket around his neck as a strange answer dawned on him. Grabbing the book he quickly retraced his steps back to the church.

Tea's eyes began to water as a new wave of pain shot down her spine as rough hands forced her body into submission, their cheeks pressed against each other as she was forced to stand. "W-wait, what about my marriage to Kaiba?" Her breath caught as his teeth tore at one of her ears while the hand not within her hair clawed at her thigh.

"Should have thought of that before displaying yourself before me, little Tea," he growled, nipping her skin harshly to earn another pain filled gasp. All these years e had kept his head low so as to not attract any unwanted attention but that was beginning to bore him. There had bee a lust growing within him since the ancient days and it has been whispering to him for the last decade, begging for the sweet release of satisfaction. His bloodlust was slightly quenched with the death of that man but there was another hunger that had refused to subside despite his best efforts. "Dodging death for as long as I have can be quite boring. Perhaps I shall perform the sacred ceremony once again but on you instead. That way I can perform the greatest heists in all the world while also fulfilling my own personal hunger." A movement from within his trousers caused him to hiss in discomfort when her struggling caused their hips to meet briefly. "You shall have what you desire, girl, for when I perform the spell you will have none but I to turn to once all you have cared for has returned to dust! Our fun will continue until the end of time, young Tea, so rejoice!"

Tears began to fall from her eyes at his demeanor grew dark, the shadows of the church growing until they covered the windows and effectively plunged the room into darkness. His lips began to move as the shadows began to chant. She recognized the language immediately, recalling the few times she had heard Atem speak and the many Yugi's grandfather had spoken in when slightly intoxicated, and but she swallowed the panic that had formed a lump in her throat as she caught sight of the wine she had prepared. "Ba-ku-ra," Tea softly called, earning a grunt as the chanting continued around them when his lips paused. Her hands grew clammy the longer he peered down on her, the breath she didn't know she was holding nearly hissing from between her teeth as he roughly grabbed a fistful of her hair and his teeth caught hold of the skin along her collarbone. "The bride is supposed to pour a drink for her intended, it's tradition." She barely had a chance to catch herself when he suddenly shoved her.

"What an attentive woman you are, I was just beginning to feel parched." He growled lowly, giving her ear a long lick before allowing her to slip from his grasp. "Fetch it quickly, wench."

Her body felt dirty already from his ruthless treatment and couldn't contain a soft sob as she approached the cup, fingers curling around its stem delicately as she emptied a vial into the dark liquid before deftly concealing the bottle within one of the altar ornaments. A flash of gold from the corner caught her eye and felt a rock settle in her stomach when she spotted him. Yugi's eyes were wide as their gazes met and there was no mistaking the look of horror written across his features as she made to take a sip. She didn't have to ask, he had seen enough. A look of determination came across his features as she turned away to walk back to where Bakura was waiting, opening the book he held.

. . . .

How could he have let her go?! Atem's enclosed fist met the column he had unintentionally put in, causing dust to fall from the ceiling as the crack grew slightly. He had never felt anger towards himself, at least not to this degree, but it was rightfully bitter. His first love had been stolen away by that man and now he had stood by while his second intended to sacrifice herself to him to save not only her world but the next! It felt as though his cold heart was being crushed to death by an unseen hand as another sob wracked his being. A hand fell on his shoulder, which he made to knock away, but froze as his eyes met a desperate pair that shone with unshed tears.

. . . .

The unconscious Mutou's features warped as the trinket around his neck began to vibrate with an ancient power. It had even caught the attention of the pair standing before the altar. Bakura's eyes darted across over the shadows as an equally ancient presence began to grow within the room. There was no mistaking that power. "So, you intend to retrieve this girl?" His harsh laugh reverberated across the walls. His hand grasped Tea by the waist and pulled her close, earning a soft cry as his fingers dug into her skin. "In your dreams, pharaoh! My spell is already nearly complete and she will soon by my property for all eternity! There is only one last step to perform." Her eyes grew wide when he viciously bit his own lip, causing blood to bead and trickle down his chin. "With this, I finish it and lay my claim!" He tipped back the cup, cheeks protruding slightly as the liquid was emptied into his waiting mouth, and tossed it away as his hands roughly grabbed her face.

Their shared vision cleared as they rose on wobbling legs, the spell keeping the pharaoh anchored to the young man thin and fragile, but their strength doubled at the sound of her desperate cry. They clung to the wall for support as they stepped out from the shadows. Wicked brown eyes met theirs from over the brim of a cup before it was tossed aside and they moved forward as she was pulled towards his horrible sneer. A unified cry leapt from their lips as her own were crushed against Bakura's and despite her struggles a few droplets of the dark wine dribbled down her chin. "No, Tea!"

I know it's a bit short, forgive me, but I am a bit tired from last night! See you all next time!
