"JR's Roadhouse. Sounds like an interesting place."

Mike's hands were resting in his lap, eyes staring straight ahead, the rest of his senses queued to the plethora of emotions circling the comparatively small quarters of the Galaxy's cab.

As if his day hadn't started on a sour enough note with Olsen's latest guidelines on censoring their speech when talking to the media, Beverly Landau's appearance had thrown yet another unwelcome monkey wrench into the fragile situation between the members of his team, causing Steve to use much of that bright mind for testosterone-laden brooding rather than analyzing their case, and for Kammers to attempt to fill the awkward silence with fun facts about local restaurants and bars just to break the tension.

Halfway to their destination, Mike had turned around and glanced at the Staff Sergeant cringingly, hoping to convey that sometimes, stillness wasn't such a bad thing considering the circumstances.

"According to the info I got, it's much like the bar Leanne used to prefer.", Steve repeated once again, then drew in a deep breath, "I am willing to bet that the guy she saw was McPhearson."

"Maybe so."

Keeping his voice even, Mike watched them cross VanNess, where a construction crew was busy tearing down an old warehouse before turning it into a small apartment complex according to the sign.

"But I think it's too soon to jump to conclusions. Even if she went out with McPhearson, possibly even had an affair, that doesn't make him a killer. It could even be that one of the other ladies found out about it, became jealous and decided to kill her to get her out of the way. There are still too many unanswered questions for my taste."

Not gracing the explanation with an answer, Steve just cocked his head, then decided to resume his oath of silence as he navigated the large sedan around early rush hour traffic on 25th.

"It's also still possible that the man she was seeing at that bar was her cousin Sidney.", Kammers interjected, then leaned forward and placed her hands on the bench seat of the Galaxy, "Think about it. He's used to playing dress-up, running across town in that sunflower outfit…who's to say he couldn't dress up like an older man, meeting with her about something he's still withholding from us, making sure they're not seen together like that."

"It's plausible."

Admittingly so, the Staff Sergeant had raised a good point and Mike was beginning to enjoy the inter-departmental cooperation, only begrudging the agenda-driven motive behind it.

"It's even plausible that the man she met was neither one of our suspects. I guess we won't know until we get there."

By the time they crossed the fancy new department store on Fair Oaks, Mike was beginning to wonder what else this challenging day would throw at them.
