As the memory faded away, I couldn't help but gasp. "How could you guys? They were only kids!"

Tooth flutters over to me and tries to reason, "Jack we know, and we hated ourselves for it but..."

"But what!? It's that the role of a guardian? To protect the children of the world? Or does that not count for spirits?!" I can't wrap my head around this, "regardless, they were still children, and you didn't give them any help when they needed it."

"Jack," Norths Russian accent filled my ears, "we know what we
we did was wrong, and we have regretted decision ever since. But we do have reasons-" I cut him off.

"What possible reason could you have? The were kids for crying out loud!" I say pacing the room, "What happened? Where is that other girl?"

Then, a new voice entered the room, "you wanna know what happened to Ami?" Lilly was standing behind us, and has probably watching this whole rant. She was leaning on the wooden door frame, arms folded, and one leg slightly raised, and a small glare in her dangerous eyes. "I'll tell you what happened. She began to pace towards me, and gave me a good pike in the chest. "She." Then she poked again, "Died."

She sent glares around the entire room, at every set of eyes, including my own. "Because of these idiots, my best friend died in that battle. And I can never get her back. The guardians and I were once friends, but they turned their back on us. So I'm doing the same." Lilly says spreading her wings and walking towards a window.

"I'm done with the guardians, forever, and I will never, become one. I can fight this battle on my own."

And with that she leaves the workshop, flying out into the snow falling, winter wonderland, off to who knows where.

"Well now you know. Happy?" Bunny glares at me.

"I can't believe that happened." I whisper.

"But Jack," Tooth flies over to me, placing her small hand on top of mine, "we can explain."

I look to Sandy and all he has is a pictures of the moon above his head.

"The moon?" I question, "What has he got to do with any of this?"

"Jack, the moon told us something before the girls arrived." Tooth flutters back over to her memory ball and waves her hand over it.

The moon was the moon was shining down on a scroll, with a feather quill writing something on it, I'm the memory, North read it out.

"In the battle of Life and Death, life will be torn. If you choose to fight, the children will be at risk, for a decision of sacrifice will result in death from both sides. Choose not to fight, and carry the guilt for the death of a child with you for eternity. Either way there will be death."

"Jack, we were warned by Manny. If we caught..." Tooth trailed off, placing her feet on the ground.

"Then what we stand for woulda been crushed. Do ya understand now? No hope, no dreams, no wonder and no memories. You remember what happened with Sandy. Imagine that happening a hundred years ago!" Bunny shouts at me.

"Well, it won't happen again. This time, we're determined to make things right," Tooth smiles fluttering back into the air, with hope in her purple eyes.

It was infectious, I couldn't help but smile.

"Well, isn't this touching." A distinct British voice echoes around the room from the shadows, "You're trying to win her back. But it's too bad, she already left."

"Pitch!" I shout hovering in the air with Tooth and Sandy, "Where are you!" I hold my staff at the ready, whilst Bunny and North ready their weapons on the floor. Scanning the place for any of him.

"Ah, same old Jack. It's good to see you're still making messes wherever you go." Pitch appears on top of the globe, a wide grin on his face.

"Shut up Pitch!" I shout firing and ice blast at him, but he disappears and reappears somewhere else.

"And look, you're doing it again. If it weren't for you stoking your nose in where it doesn't belong, your precious to-be guardian would still here, and nothing bad would be happening to her." And with that he disappears into the darkened, only with his eyes glowing before fading away to black.

"What have you done!" I shout at him, flying back to where he was but there was nothing there.

"Quick everyone to sleigh!" North shouts running to the sleigh room.

This time, I'm not taking the sleigh. I can track her through the snow, and she didn't that long ago. I'm sure that I can catch up to her, before Pitch does.

So I fly at full speed out the window. "I hope I'm not too late."

"I'm done with the guardians, forever, and I will never, become one. I can fight this battle on my own." I shout to the guardians before flying out one of the open windows.

There was a lump in the back of my throat, forcing me to cry, and it worked, slightly, I had two fall, one from each eye.

But it made my eyes burn, as the water began to freeze around my eyes from the cold atmosphere around here. I winced in pain, and hugged myself because it was cold but I pushed through it. Flying as fast as I could to the nearest
forest.

I haven't used my wings for such a long time, I forgot how tiring it would be. But, I reached a snow covered forest and landed next to a tree, using it for support.

I didn't want to think about that, but seeing that memory once again, hearing her voice, it broke me apart inside. This time, I will defeat Death, for good.

"Raahhhhhhh!" I shout and the wind begins to blow a gale, pushing my dress and hair everywhere.

But there was something I wasn't suspecting, I chuckle. Someone was laughing at me. "Jack..." I growl thinking that the little prick was there, not processing the accent attached.

"Guess again." I deep British voice coo's from behind me.

I gasp and spin around, facing the owner of the voice. Though, I've never met this guys in person, but his reputation proceeds him.

"Pitch Black?"
