" So how do we kill them?" Percy asked.

" What?" Jason countered, sounding as if he was trying to make Percy seem stupid. How do you kill any monster? You just do.

" Annabeth, is there anything else we have to know about them? Extra heads? Can only be killed by fire?" Percy ignored Jason. Normally everyone would jump straight into fighting, but something felt... off.

" I don't know. They're very rare." Anabeth answered as Nico lunged at one of the monsters, killing it. It was easy. Way too easy. Leo made another gurgled scream. This time it was louder and more painful,

" H-help!"

Percy killed the next one. He also noticed it was way too easy, and Leo's limbs began to twist.

Annabeth killed the last one and Leo catapulted towards the wall. The violent smacking sound made as flesh hit wood made even Nico flinch. He rushed over to where Leo landed and was the first to notice the bone sticking out of Leo's shin, blood driping out.

"Oh my goodness!" squealed a squeamish Hazel.

"Leo?" Percy questioned, gently touching the boys shoulder. The way he flinched and tried to move away at least meant that he wasn't uncouncous. "Leo, buddy, open your eyes."

Leo groaned slightly and opened his eyes, "Wh- Oh. The monsters did this."

"Yes. " Anabeth answered, even though it was more of a statement than a question. Leo wiggled his body so that he inched up the wall and propped himself up,

"Annie, let me see that dagger please?" Once she handed it over, he cut his pants leg above the wound, his knee, and down the middle so that it feel apart. Before anyone could understand what he was doing, he took our and poured an entire bottle of alcohol over his leg. "Um... Frank, would you mind setting my leg? "

Frank looked flabbergasted and turned to look at Anabeth who says, "Hey, hold on. Do you even know what you're doing, Leo?"

"Of course I do. Can someone please set my leg? It's not as bad as it looks."

Leo closed his eyes and didn't see who did it, but once it was done he took the nectar Hazel had apparently gotten and poured it over his leg. He then raped it tightly in goz as if he had done it 100 times and ate some ambrosia.

"How do you know how to do that?" Someone asked.

"You still need a proper splint." Anabeth said matter-o-factably. Leo didn't answer, he just fished sine type of sleeve out of his toolbelt. It seemed to be made of some type of stiff, stretchy material and had bits of metal on it. As he pulled it up his leg, he began to talk.

"When you hurt you ankle, that got me thinking on my newest invention. It's I've of the first things I worked on since getting back." Once the sleeve covered his intire leg up to his knee, the bits of metal stretched to form bands that wrapped around his leg. It looked like a less clunky version of a boot. He then held out his hand and his crush? bo- no! That's not what they were. They couldn't be. Especially not after...
