Jacks P.O.V

...

"Just like me. Actually..." I trail off for dramatic effect as I smirk, "You can come out now Lilly." I could see her flinch at the mention of her name, she obviously didn't consider that the blue from her jumper would show through a green tree.

I realised only a few moments after i landed, I could feel her temperature difference, considering this is meant to be freezing, with a deep heat coming from the tree in the back corner of the back yard, with small bushes scattered below it. She didn't move however, just stayed there, in her 'hidden' position.

"Wait, she's here?" Pippa asks with raised eyebrows. "Where?" I could see she was excited to meet another spirit.

I quickly turn my head to face her, my eyes locking with her own sparkling green ones, and she was scared. "There,"

The whole group turned their heads towards the tree, but my eyes never left hers. I have having fun with this.

"What, the tree?" Jamie questions, and that's when she broke her gaze, looking away with slight hurt in her eyes. Said boy walks over to the tree, but the constant moving of his head told me that his search was fruitless. This caused a chain reaction, with myself included,

From there, i watched her rise from her seat in the tree and begin to walk away from us. No, if she stay's, I can make them believe in her, maybe I can make it up to her. I didn't realise what i would do with early winters, all i would do is think about the joy it brought kids when they could get out of school early.

"Where are you going?" I call to her, and she stops moving, which is good. She listened to me for once.

"Away from here." She hisses at me with a striking tone. There was so much, ironically, ice in her tone, giving me the cold shoulder. I hopped up onto the fence behind her.

""Stay..." I tried to tell her, but she just cut me off with some rather harsh words.

"WHY SHOULD I? YOU SEEM TO BE EVERYWHERE IN MY LIFE! I AM CONSTANTLY CLEANING YOUR MESS, AND ABOVE ALL ELSE YOU TOOK WHAT I CONSIDERED ON OF THE MOST PRECIOUS THINGS ON THIS PLANET AFTER I LOST AMI! AND YET YOU DON'T SEEM TO GIVE A FLYING FUCK ABOUT IT!" She yelled at me, with so much anger and hurt, that i felt it inside me.

The wind began to pick up, pushing everything around. My white hair would blow in my eyes, and hers whipped around like a crazy person. The kids looked to one another with slight concern at the sudden change. "WHAT DID I EVEN DO TO YOU!?" I shouted at her, whilst the rest of the kids just watch me.

Why would she be like this? Yes, I've done some stupid things in the past, and as far as I'm concerned, she got her payback less than an hour ago! What's her problem!

She flicked her eyes to one of the kids, and I was just couldn't catch who it was. I think it was one of the younger girls, like Anne or Sophie. But when she turned her head back, her green eyes had turned much darker, more rage filled. Filled of hate...and it terrified me, she was going to snap.

"WORK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF!" She shouted at me, and barely had any time to register before i felt my body go limp, and i hit the snow-covered ground.

How could she? This thing, this BRAT, was meant to be a Guardian, and we can barely have a conversation with her. She might as well not exist...why am i saying this?

"JACK!" They shouted as i fell, rushing to my side. Everything was spinning, and i could barely make out her figure on the fence line. A groan escaped me, as i tried to sit up as i saw Lillyana beginning to move away. Someone stood beside me, and after a few blinks, i realised it was Sophie. She stood so tall and full of herself, and she looks in Lilly's general direction.

"You big meanie! You shouldn't be a guardian! You don't hurt people, you're meant to help people! I'm glad people don't believe in you!" Everyone looks at her, but no one proved her wrong. There was something inside that wanted me to prove Soph wrong, yet, I don't think I would be able to. She has shown nothing but hate, and she gave me no reason to show her kindness.

But she is meant to be a Guardian.

My vision cleared to see a horrified look on her face. You could see it in her eyes. Something completely shattered. That rage and anger was gone, and all that was left was a shattered sight, as if what she feared the most just happened. It was that look that just stumped me. I didn't even know where to begin. There was a range of different emotions swirling inside me, as she's been so cold and heartless...why should she care what Sophie says?

It's the one piece of humanity i saw in her, well, recently anyway.

"Sophie..." I could barely hear her whisper as the wind died down, that voice was just as broken as the light in her eyes, "No..." Two tears escaped those shattered eyes which fell into the snow below.

Sophie turned back to me and looked me in the eyes with a small sweet smile as i continued to look into those eyes.

Lilly took off into the sky. If you blinked, you would have missed her, she took off that fast. "I'm alright." I say answering their worried questions. Jamie grabbed my hand, pulling me up to a seated position.

"Was that her?" He questions with sad eyes, to which i nod in answer, "Why? I thought Guardians were meant to be good." He questions, not really understanding.

"Yeah, I'm not sure what the Manny was thinking." I mumble, standing to my feet. "But-"

"Sophie!" Jamie's mother shouts from the frame of the back door, "Time for Anne and Pajar to go home." His mother calls and the little girls all put sad looks, waving us all good bye before scampering inside.

"It's probably better they're not here..." I say scratching the back of my head.

Pippa looks to me curiously, "What's wrong?"

"Pitch has a new partner in crime, his name is Killian Death, a. Grimm Reaper." I tell the two remaining teenagers.

They both raise their eyebrows, "The Grimm Reaper?" Pippa questions, whilst Jamie thinks it over.

"Lillyana knows him form her past, so that's the only connection the guardians and I had made." I say as we all begin to walk.

"It does make sense, Mother Nature and the Grimm Reaper. They're complete opposites. Life and Death and what not." Jamie shrugs, flicking the hair out of his eyes, looking at me. "It'll be great for our book!" He says excitedly.

"Book?"

Pippa smiles and nods, "Yeah, we thought it would be a good idea to record any of what happened when we were 10. Jamie's working on the story side of things, whereas I'm working on more of the analysis of the spirits and your world." You could see the enthusiasm in her smile that she really enjoys making this. "I'm keeping in touch with North, he's telling me a lot of information. I'd like to hear what you have to say too Jack!"

That is an interesting, and i feel honoured that they're making a book about us, "that's incredible!"

"Mother Nature will definitely be an interesting one." Jamie adds in.

"According to her, I'm her elemental opposite." I say floating in front of the walking due. I'm surprised that these two aren't together, they seem so close, but, they don't show it. Oh well.

"How come?"

I ponder it for a few seconds, "Well, we burned one another when we touched, probably because my skin is ice cold and from what if felt, hers is incredibly hot."

I could see the two teens eyes sparkle with amazement, taking in the information, "Wow..."

"Everyone should be here soon." Pippa pointed out, so we just waited for the rest to show up.
