Chapter 1
Proposition
Synopsis
Sleet and Dingo have a proposition for the Doctor, but he'd much rather spend time with his secretary.
Groans and creaks came from the looming factory that was spewing out thick clouds of black smog, sending ash down to paint buildings in thick powder. But inside, not a spot of dirt or ash was to be seen. Spotless pure white walls with red streaks painted on, clean recycled air that tasted of antiseptic and metal. But to Sonic, nothing was anywhere near as perfect. The outside world was covered in grime, and the thick clouds made him cough and choke. He didn't have to compete for anything as he did before the Doctor oh so graciously took him in. It was just him, the Doctor and the robots. A sterile world that revolved around two people, clean and perfect.
His black shoes hit the metal floor, echoing through empty halls. In his arms, the hedgehog held a full binder and a tablet. The tablet pressed against the soft material of his red button up shirt, rubbing against the black embroidered Robotnik logo on his left. Sonic breezed through doorways, the security immediately identifying him. He smirked; his leader was much greater than that puny Resistance's puny princess. Pausing at a large door, a laser scanned his right eye before opening the door for him. He made a beeline for the large man in a looming throne. Climbing the stairs that led up to alcove the throne was on. "Lord Robotnik? The files have completed scanning, and are ready to go to the Purger." Sonic said, his voice quiet.
Robotnik nodded, examining the giant holoscreen in front of them. "Put them in the tray." The human's gravelly voice commanded, his hidden eyes not even turning to his secretary. Sonic obeyed, putting the binder into a tray that disappeared into the desk after.
Glancing at his tablet, one eyebrow rose.
"Sleet and Dingo have arrived. They are requesting an audience with you. Would you like me to bring them in?"
Robotnik hummed before answering. "Yes, but make sure to prepare the Robotosizer."
"Of course Lord Robotnik," he said with a small bow. Pressing the screen of his tablet, the hedgehog stood next to the man, emerald eyes fixating on the wolf and dingo walking through the doors that closed behind them. Sleet stopped at the stairs, bending down in a low bow.
"My Lord," his sleazy voice grated on Sonic's normally long nerves. "I have a proposition for you. A proposition that I think you will quite enjoy."
"Get on with it, I don't have all day!" Robotnik barked, making the newcomers flinch. The hedgehog's ear merely flicked.
"Are you sure that's a good idea, given the, ahem, company?" Sleet asked, eyes flickering from Robotnik to Sonic.
"Do you not trust your own partner? Hah! How pathetic!" The human taunted, making the wolf flush in embarrassment.
"Of course I do-I wasn't referring to Dingo I was referring too-" The heated glare made the wolf pause to consider his words and life a little more carefully. "Nevermind. My proposition is for Dingo and I to pretend to be refugees to spy on the Resistance from the inside, inreturn we will receive-"
"And what would stop you from spying for the Resistance, or not giving any information?" Robotnik interrupted with a raised eyebrow.
"If I may interject Lord Robotnik?" Sonic asked, continuing when Robotnik nodded at him to proceed. "While Sleet and Dingo have not betrayed the Empire in their three years of employment, they have a track record of being incompetent on spy missions."
"I assure you my Lord, Dingo and I are quite competent, contrary to what this rodent says." Sleet said, attempting to regain his dignity.
"Watch your tongue! Sonic, continue."
"As I was saying, Sleet and Dingo do not have a good track record with spy missions, and given the fact that many Resistance members have come in contact with them, are you sure deploying them is the wisest idea?" Dingo absentmindedly stared at the holoscreen, unaware of the barely veiled insults that were hurled at him at his fuming partner. Robotnik tapped his fingers on the arm of his floating throne.
Sleet cleared his throat, glaring at the hedgehog. "If I may, I am quite competent, contrary to what this rodent impli-"
"Enough! If Sonic says you are not competent, then you are not competent!" Robotnik shouted, banging his fist on his throne. "Now, get out of my sight before I have you Robotosized!" The mercenaries scurried out, the massive door slamming behind them. The human leaned back, letting out a tired sigh. "And this is why organic beings are not worth it."
He shook his head, looking to his secretary. Eyes covered by tinted lenses roamed unashamedly over the hedgehog's lean body. His logo on a red button up shirt. Tight black pants that left little for the imagination. Black shoes that blended in with the pants. His mouth split into a leery grin, yellowed teeth on full display. And despite the hungry look on the human's face, Sonic held his ground.
"Is there anything else you need Lord Robotnik?" He asked, his voice void of emotion.
"Hmmm, let me thinkā¦" the lecherous grin grew. "Strip"
