Dragonforce

A cold wind blast past him, biting at the exposed skin of his face. The man stands at the feet of a tower that stretch far past the clouds of the sea above him. Wearing clothes that keep him warm enough, yet didn't restrict his movement and make him easily blend in the dark. 'I finally found the place.' Placing a hand at the first stone that stuck out of the tower he lifts himself up. 'My first teacher was under the tutelage of Ra's Al Ghul, an immortal according to his daughter. With his training, I learned how to blend in the darkness. How to take out people from the shadows… the training was everything I wished, except killing innocent people.' Digging his fingers over the edge of a stone and securing himself before lifting himself up. The man has now climbed for half a day without any security. His head tilted back and in the distance, he could see a platform. Sweat was pouring down his face and drenched his clothes. 'After four years of training with Ra's Al Ghul and his ninjas, he was chosen for the final test and a poor farmer was brought into the room. The Farmer's crime, stealing bread for his wife and children as the oppressors had stolen all grain and had burned down his home and farm. I refused the order to kill the farmer and fought Ra's Al Ghul and his ninjas. Our fight escalated and the base did go up in flames, but when I saw Ra's glide through the snow and to the edge, I needed to save him. Ra's Al Ghul had let me go and ordered me to leave the mountain.' His hands suddenly lost grip and he felt gravity trying to pull on him, only to feel suddenly some grasping him and pulling him over the edge to safety and the man lands on his back on the platform.

"Hello, young man. That was quite the climbing you did there, especially without any security equipment. I can understand that you want to impress the Master, but that is not the way to throw away your life." Tilting his head backward, his long black hair fell away from his face and piercing grey-blue eyes took in the other person. His eyes widened in shock when seeing instead of a man, a small cat, not longer than a foot tall with white fur and standing on his hind legs while holding a wooden staff in his paw. "You expected the Master or someone more human. My name is Korin, Guardian of the Sacred water and God of the Martial Arts."

The young man rolled to his chest and then pulled his knees up and bowed in front of the cat, Korin. "Forgive me, Korin sensei, but I hadn't expected that the God of the Martial Arts is a..." He glanced at the being in front of him. "A cat that can speak. My apologies if my words sound disbelieving!"

"My name is spread far and wide through the Martial Art world, however, my appearance is not and the times when I do have visitors, they are surprised at my appearance. Now young man, please share your name and your purpose with me." Korin said while leaning slightly on his staff.

"My name is Bruce Wayne, I have come from far to find more knowledge and experience in Martial Art and wish to be trained under you," Bruce said from his still bowed position on the floor. 'For what do you seek knowledge, Mr. Wayne? What is your intention once you gained the power to fight?' Spoke the cat and Bruce bowed lower and almost planted his face into the floor. "I will use my skills to protect the innocents! Defending those who cannot defend themselves and try to prevent children from losing their parents like I lost my own in needless violence. Please, Master Korin, train me so I can keep my promises!"

"For a human, you have already become splendid strong. Normal humans cannot climb this tower without any help of pieces of equipment, their mind becomes paralyzed when they are confronted with danger and you did climb the whole way up to the top of my tower. Rest, Bruce Wayne and tomorrow we will begin your training."

"Thank you, Master Korin!" Exclaimed Bruce, only for the cat to laughter.

Korin turns around, walking away from Bruce. "Don't thank me yet, young Mr. Wayne. Your training is to prepare you for the last trip to the Look Out. Because the real training awaits you there and how you are now… you will not survive."

Sitting in a cave, surrounded by bats, Batman and his two apprentices were sitting around a small fire. "Korin is a real talking cat?" Exclaimed a boy, no older than thirteen years old. "I have some problems in believing that a cat is the God of Martial Arts."

"I was surprised when discovering the appearance of Korin sensei." Bruce Wayne said while his batman hood was off. "But there is a reason I shared this story with you. Somewhere in our past and in the future of our world, Barry Allen, the Flash has disrupted the barrier between two worlds. Warriors like Korin and the Kami from the Look Out and probably many more have appeared on our world. We still have a Gotham City and we also do still have a Metropolis and Central City with any other major cities where the members of the Justice Leagues come from."

"If those Martial Artists has come in our world it also means that any villains have probably arrived on our fused planet or any other mad scientist that fought against their group or heroes," Batgirl said once she made the connection.

"Correct, Batgirl. I fear that stronger opponents will appear and our limited strength as human and all the gadgets we bring to the field will not be enough. Korin trained my body and soul, extending it far than the League of Shadows ever could, but that was only the stepping stone." Bruce told them. "Korin lived in a time when the greatest warriors had come together to stand against the darkness. Amongst them, just like our Justice League, they consisted out of extraterrestrials and humans. Both reached an unknown amount of powers through Martial Arts training and the humans could even match those from outer space." Batman then turns his face to look at Batgirl. "I want you, Barbara to go to Korin Tower and learn under him. He will prepare you for the Look Out where you will complete your training."

Robin, his younger apprentice pouted at the decision of his mentor. "Why is she going and not me?" He whined like a petulant child.

Batgirl or as she is known to her friends, Barbara Gordon frowned at her young friend, but Batman spoke up before she could say something. "Barbara is already seventeen, almost an adult. I have trained her for a long time and she takes good care of herself. Climbing the tower of Korin is dangerous and one mistake and it can cost Barbara her life. But I do have trust in her that can make it and return to us alive." Robin turns his head away from the group, but Bruce addressed something else. "I also know that you want to go your own way. With that in mind, I decided with my fellow Founders of the League that we make a subdivision that consists of the younger generation of heroes."
