Epilogue

The years went by and a lot changed in Yondu's life.

He taught Peter to fly an M-ship and the boy became more and more one of them every day, became more confident and a little bit cheekier with each passing day.

But the older he got, the more he changed and not for the better.

Yondu's heart almost broke, when he saw his boy changing more and more. The loving, little boy grew to a strong man, who caused him more grief with each year that he grew older and often he had to chastise him so that he didn't forget his place. And most of the time this happened publicly and before the eyes of the other Ravagers, because Yondu still had to be careful and not let any of his weakness show, or how much Peter really meant to him. He had to maintain his reputation as an ice cold, brutal space pirate and leader of a horde of bloodthirsty Ravagers, so he didn't hold back on Peter when it came to handing out punishments.

And so it often happened that he beat him up in front of the others and even if he never showed it on the outside, the sight hurt him incredibly and his heart was torn to pieces every time.

But Peter just didn't learn from his mistakes and at some point he started planning his own raids by himself and disappeared from the Eclector for days.

Until one day he took the Milano and never returned to the huge ship.

Yondu had tried to contact him, but he wasn't even surprised that Peter ignored all of his attempts and never answered any of his messages.

No wonder, as he had treated him really bad in previous years.

Something had happened to him that had changed him and Yondu didn't like it. Not at all!

The day Peter left the Eclector, he had lost the little boy whom he had raised so lovingly.

And a new space pirate was born that day.

One, who would put his patience to the test in the future.

But his love for him would never disappear.

No matter what stupid things Peter would do.

And when he thought about this, Yondu became painfully aware of one thing:

He had become soft for real and his softness could mean his death one day...
