18. Special For Him

Jung leaned back against his car while he waited for Seol to come down. Today's date was a surprise, and astonishingly Seol didn't complain about being kept in the dark. He knew it was because she just wanted to spend as much time with him as possible, to make up for the past few years. The burden of this insecurity sat heavily on his chest, there was no cure to it except to prove to her that he wouldn't leave again. How the tables have turned, he thought, once he was the insecure one in the relationship, always afraid that she would one day realize that he was abnormal. He would prove to her that the one person that she could depend on would be him.
Jung's biggest regret after leaving Seol was that he missed celebrating all the important moments that happened in her life. Day's they were supposed to spend excited and planning for their future were lost and he wanted to make up for it somehow. So, he was both dreading and anticipating today's date.

They door to Seol's building opened hesitatingly, Jung couldn't see past the blacked glass in the sun. He first made out her bare arm and then slowly the rest of her. Jung stood taller, his mind blanking at the vision before him. Seol was always pretty but the way she was dressed today was special. Jung knew with one look that she had done it for him. Seol's style was a little retro, a little faded but completely her. To see her dressed like this was rare. She wore a white dress that stopped an inch or two above her knees, however it had a single layer of transparent fabric over it that reached the floor. The dress was far from plain with tiny embroidered flowers and green leaves, and hidden among them were blue butterflies. She looked exquisite, but mostly he just felt happy. To know that she did it for him was a gift.
Seol gave Jung an embarrassed giggle.
"Do I look really weird?" Her hands went up to cover her face, Jung grabbed them before they could.
"No, you look pretty, really." Jung's grin itself spoke volumes. Seol closed her eyes and ducked her head, the embarrassment apparent even without her blush.
"Let's go. I have a lot of things planned for today." Seol nodded getting into the car door that Sunbae opened.
Soon they were on the highway, the only sound the music on the radio. Jung kept turning his head to look at Seol taking in every thing about her. She had little white flowers in her ears, which were visible because she had her hair pulled back, some up in a rubber band, the rest loose. He glanced at her hands which were bare except for a ring that matched with the one on his own finger. Before he could think about it too much, Jung reached over to take Seol's hand. Seol startled at the sudden contact, stiffening before quickly relaxing with an indulgent smile.
"So, are you not going to tell me where we are going?"
"No." Seol gave him a look at the short and non wavering answer. Jung smiled,

"I told you it's a supriese. Trust me you will like it.
