Authors Notes : Been a while since I made a Kaguya fanfiction , so I decided to make another one for fun . You can probably guess from the title that this is going to be Fujiwara centered , with a bit of Ishigami and Shirogane mixed in . I know I've said this before , but I really wish Fujiwara had more serious and important moments in the series , I mean yeah sure she gets a good amount of screen time . But that doesn't compensate for the lack of depth she has .
I mean , I get that Fujiwara is meant to be the parallel to Kaguya and whatnot , but even the most sunny person has their serious moments .
What was I talking about again ? Oh yeah , the story .
Its Fujiwara centered , also this is conjunction with my previous fanfic about her ' Chika Fujiwara Knows ' but this happens before that fic .
By the way , like that story I wrote this one in the span of a day so don't expect anything too good .
With that said , let's get this story started !
It was another regular day at Shuichin Private Academy, the sun was shining down on the academy , the birds were chirping and of course ...
Maki Shijo was lying on the couch of the Student Council room , with a completely blank on her face ...
She had come in a little earlier , but Shirogane and Ishigami were nowhere to be seen . They were probably dealing with Council matters and whatnot , they'll probably be back soon .
Maki actually has something she could use some advice on and out of everybody at the academy , those two were probably the best to talk to .
" Hello everybody ! " Fujiwara happily announced as she entered the room , quickly spotting the lied down Shijo heir " Eh , Maki ? What are you doing here ? "
" Oh , hi Fujiwara " Maki greeted her , as she sat up straight on the couch " I'm just waiting around for Ishigami and Miyuki "
" Hmm ? Those two ? Do you need something from them ? "
Maki shaked her head " No , I just need their advice on something "
" Well , what is it ? Maybe I can help ! " Fujiwara cheerfully exclaimed , taking a seat opposite of Maki .
Maki looked a bit conflicted " Well , its a bit complicated ... I'm not quite sure how much you would be able to really help "
" What's it about ? " Fujiwara pressed .
" Well , its about love but- "
" Ah , I see ! " Fujiwara immediately donned her Love Detective hat " Then you've come to the right person ! There's no love problem , the Love Detective cannot solve ! "
Maki stared at her blankly for a second " Perhaps , I should just wait for Miyuki and Ishigami "
" No , no , no ! I can help you , trust me ! " Fujiwara pleaded with Maki .
Maki let out a sigh " Well , I guess it wouldn't hurt to get a third opinion ..."
" Yay ! " Fujiwara cheered in happiness " So what seems to be the problem ? "
" Well ..." Maki began " You know , how I said before that I had crush on a guy that was already taken ? "
" Oh , you mean Tsubasa and Nagisa ? " Fujiwara named the two of them .
" Yeah ...how did you know that ? " Maki eyed her suspiciously , how the heck did somebody like Fujiwara knew that ?
" There is no secret love , you can hide from the Love Detective ! " Fujiwara proudly stated.
Maki gave her a blank look .
" Okay , I saw you spying on them a couple times and put two and two together " Fujiwara admit it , but it was still good investigation and deduction on her part !
" Anyway ... I've been thinking about it more and more and ..."
" I'm seriously considering seducing Tsubasa and breaking the two of them up " Maki put it all out there .
Fujiwara stiffened for a few seconds , she was definitely NOT expecting to hear this brought up again .
"Ahhh ... I see ..." Fujiwara nervously smiled , trying to play it cool .
" I mean , like Miyuki said if we put aside morality for a moment , it really would be the most effective means of getting with Tsubasa " Maki continued explaining " All it would take is one night , one mistake and I can show Nagisa the proof . And if I know her as well I do , she'd definitely end up breaking up with him and I can pick up where the relationship left off "
" I ... I see ..." Fujiwara listened to this girl's idea , it was conniving and downright immoral on every level .
" But I'm kinda indecisive at the moment regarding this , so I thought I would get a second opinion " Maki turned back to Fujiwara " So what do you think ? "
" Um ... well ..." Fujiwara put a finger to her chin , she had pride herself as the famous Love Detective , but she had never dealt with such sensitive matters like plotting to break up a couple and tricking somebody into cheating on their partner . Especially those who you are close friends with .
Fujiwara thought about it long and hard , from a moral perspective , it was downright morally bankrupt and even deceitful . But from a logical standpoint ...
It was still wrong .
" In my opinion , I don't think the whole seducing Tsubasa idea , is very good honestly ..." Fujiwara spoke her honest thoughts .
" But why ? " Maki countered " If we're talking from a moralistic standpoint , then yes it is wrong but - "
" No , its not just from a moralistic standpoint " Fujiwara cut in " Its also wrong from a logical standpoint as well "
" Huh ? "
" Yes , you are correct that seducing Tsubasa is the easiest way to break up their relationship but ..." Fujiwara's tone sounded more serious " There's a certain risk that comes with this approach "
" Tsubasa could end up hating you "
Maki felt as if a truck had rammed into her and her heart shattered into a million pieces at the same time . The simple thought of Tsubasa hating her made Maki imagine how awful and terrible it would feel , making her shiver at the simple imagination of it .
" Its entirely likely that Tsubasa could end up blaming you for his failed relationship and end up never talking you again ..." Fujiwara morbidly stated " And it would be even worse if he found out that you intentionally broke him and Nagisa up "
Maki felt each word as a punch to the gut , it almost made her want to throw up from hearing it all . Like she had just been forced to eat something revolting .
" And that's not even the worse of it , Nagisa would end up hating you as well " Fujiwara thought of every bad possibility " Nagisa has always been the typical girlfriend , so if she were to find that you seduced her boyfriend and even broke the two of them up ..."
" Your friendship with Nagisa would cease to exist "
The next part hit Maki particularly hard , while she certainly envied and semi cursed Nagisa for her relationship with Tsubasa , she never truly hated the girl . She had known Nagisa since kindergarten and in a way , their relationship was irreplaceable .
The thought of Nagisa hating her ... felt just as bad as the thought of Tsubasa hating her .
" And even in the absolute best case scenario , where Tsubasa stays in a relationship with you . The memory that you were the cause of his previous breakup ... " Fujiwara lets out a sigh " Would be too great a bad memory to not affect the rest of your relationship with him "
Maki looked down at the floor as Fujiwara continued .
" Its very likely that in the long run , he'll end up breaking up with you ..." Fujiwara listed " And who knows ? Maybe he'll get back together with Nagisa in a cruel twist of - "
" Then what am I supposed to do ?! " Maki suddenly shouted , surprising Fujiwara .
The Shijo heir now has tears in her eyes , her hands bawled up into fists as the first of teardrops come down on them . Everything that Fujiwara had said just now was completely accurate , someone of her intelligence can't deny the logic of Fujiwara's arguments . In none of the possibilities that Fujiwara listed Maki got what she wanted , in all of those possibilities she ended up losing two of the most important people in her life .
And that hit her harder than she imagined .
" Those two ... are always flaunting how happy they are , how they're so perfect and in-sync with each other ... and their never afraid to show it off in public ! " Maki yelled , tears falling " Every time they kiss my heart aches , every time they hug feels like a stab to the heart and every time they ... do ... that . Feels like a punch to the face "
" How the hell do I just deal with that !? Why do I have to be the one to deal with all the heartache !? "
Maki wiped some of the tears from her eyes " I know ... its a terrible thing to do ... but I can't stand this pain in my heart anymore ! "
" I just ... want all this to end ..." Maki let the tears flow freely now .
Fujiwara looked at Maki sympathetically , taking off her detective hat and taking the seat next to the Shijo heir , Fujiwara pulled Maki into a side hug .
" There , there ... its okay Maki ..." Fujiwara whispered patting her head gently , calming her down a bit .
They stayed like this for a few minutes , before Maki finally calmed down . Fujiwara pulled away , but kept a hand on her shoulder .
" Look Maki ... I understand where you're coming from ... " Fujiwara sympathized " And to be honest , its not entirely unfair . In our times of darkness , we humans tend to have dark thoughts . Expecting somebody to act against their emotions is unfair "
" Ultimately ... whether you go ahead with this plan or not is entirely up to you but ... is that really what you want to build your relationship with Tsubasa on ? " Fujiwara questioned .
Maki was unable to answer , looking at the floor conflicted .
" Relationships are built upon trust and love , not lies and deceit ..." Fujiwara spoke from her heart " Plotting to break up the person you love , with somebody they already love ... is no different from betraying them "
Maki was silent for a moment before speaking again " What do you think I should do ? "
Fujiwara a little caught off guard when Maki directly asked her for advice on what to do , but if she had give one piece of advice it would be ...
" You should be honest ... " Fujiwara said " With yourself and with Tsubasa and Nagisa ..."
" Take it from somebody who has spent the better part of a year watching two prideful geniuses act like buffoons because they both got too much pride to be honest , when the entire situation could literally be solved by having an honest conversation with each other "
Fujiwara had known long ago that Kaguya and the Prez have had feelings for each other and it made her want to face palm whenever either of those would come up with an elaborate scheme to make the other confess . Whoever told those that in relationship there is a winner and a loser was an idiot who never had a single relationship in their life .
To Fujiwara , relationships were about balance , honesty and love . There was no winner or loser in the relationship . And it certainly never mattered who confessed first .
She could list dozens of examples to Kaguya and the Prez, but holds her tongue because she doesn't want to get into the middle of those two and their little 'war' .
" I ... I understand Fujiwara ..." Maki nodded " Thank you for your advice , you've certainly given me something to think about "
" Anytime ..."Fujiwara smiled at the girl , patting the girl on the shoulder " You don't need to anything right away , its okay to take some time to gather your thoughts and figure out what you want to do next "
" Yeah ... I think I'm going to do that "
" Glad to hear it " Fujiwara chuckled getting up from the couch " Well , I gotta go now , Ishigami and the Prez should be back soon "
" Alright , see you later Fujiwara " Maki waved goodbye .
" See ya ! " Fujiwara happily waved back , as she left the Student Council Room ...
To find Ishigami on the other side of the door , listening in with a cup .
Fujiwara looked at him for a moment before calmly closing the door behind her , not to give away that he was behind the door the entire time .
" Were you listening in the entire time ? " Fujiwara asked .
" Well ... not the entire time " Ishigami nervously scratched his head and even Fujiwara could tell that he was lying .
" Okay yeah , I was listening the entire time " Ishigami admitted it , he was an awful liar especially when he was put on the spot .
" Well , then why didn't you come in ? Its rude to keep a lady waiting you know ? " Fujiwara crossed her arms .
" Well , you were kinda having a moment with Maki there , so I didn't want to ruin it " Ishigami told the truth " And I gotta say , that was actually pretty good advice you have to Maki "
Fujiwara proudly smirked " Nothing less to be expected from the Love Detective "
" To be honest , I actually thought you were incapable of saying anything even remotely mature or wise " Ishigami bluntly said .
Fujiwara pouted at him " I've always been wise , its just that nobody's ever noticed or asked "
" Yeah , I get it ..." Ishigami nodded " But you were talking about Shinomiya and the Prez when you said two geniuses right ? "
" Who do you think I was talking about ? " Fujiwara curtly retorted .
Ishigami shrugged " I swear those two need to get their act together or they're gonna be stuck in this stupid loop all year "
" I sincerely pray that never happens ..." Fujiwara literally prayed to god every night that she would not have to endure from the sidelines anymore .
" I guess so ..." Ishigami turned back to the Student Council door " I shouldn't keep Maki waiting any longer , see you around Fujiwara "
" Later Ishigami " Fujiwara gave a small wave , as she left Ishigami to take care of Maki .
She can only hope that Maki doesn't end up like Kaguya and the Prez .
It was honestly kinda ironic to Fujiwara how similar Maki and Kaguya were in retrospect .
