Scooby-Doo! and the Curse of the 13th Ghost (Rewrite)
Chapter 5: The Pumpkin in the Bar
Then, as soon as they got there, the wolfman opened the door for them.
"Sorry about the rough reception, mates. Gotta keep out the riff-raft, now, don't we?", the wolfman exclaimed with a smile before pushing the gang further along the entrance.
Shaggy and Scooby, however, were the only ones rolling forward like balls before they hit the wall and laid down for a bit before standing up and rubbing their heads as Vincent and the others caught up.
"Like, are you all right?", Crystal asked.
"Yeah. Just a bit groggy with the headache, though.", Shaggy replied.
"Yeah, headache.", Scooby agreed.
"Guys, look. It's like a swanky bar down here.", Phantasma urged as one skeleton was playing a saxophone, another was playing the piano, and another was even playing the drums while other monsters were talking about various things.
"Zoinks. Like, this is one whacked-out watering hole.", Shaggy commented.
"Indeed. This bar is for monsters who prefer to take a break from the usual business of scaring, refresh themselves, and get together.", Vincent explained.
"Wow. With that many monsters around, it sure happens often, doesn't it?", Scrappy guessed as it showed a hunchback spilling the drink out before then eating the container and then one of the vampires sucking green plasma as another was saying "blah, blah, blah, blah" before then showing a ghost speaking to his girlfriend as it only came out as ghostly wailing before his girlfriend laughed as the male ghost then started drinking plasma.
"Well, I guess even monsters need a break every now and then.", Daphne guessed.
"I know the feeling.", Damien spoke.
"So, what do we do from here?", Marcie asked.
"We just have to look for the right informant on the location of where Jack is. He might know the shortcut from here to the Goblin King's castle. But I must warn you. Under no circumstances are you to mention his name out loud. After all, we can't have a screaming riot, now, can we?", Vincent warned as he also added a pun for the riot.
"Like, got it. Okay, Scoob. Just be cool.", Shaggy spoke to Shaggy.
"Yeah. Be cool.", Scooby agreed nervously before they moved along as did the others one by one.
From there, Vincent then sat down in a spare seat next to a sort of female Ghoul with a gray robe.
"I understand that the party is quite festive, is it not?", Vincent asked, making the Ghoul turn to see him with a grin.
"You wouldn't happen to know of any information that we require about a certain lantern, do you?", Vincent asked before the Ghoul then responded see by hissing as her eyes turned red while her hair turned out to be snakes before Vincent quickly looked away so he wouldn't be turned to stone.
Play The Nightmare Before Christmas Music: "This is Halloween"
"Hmm. Perhaps not.", Vincent guessed before the cymbal started with the piano music then starting to play as the pianist sang as did the crowd of monsters before, eventually, the invisible man took off his shirt, revealing behind him three coffins with each vampire inside before they walk out and raise their arms and then, even the Boo Brothers jumped out from behind Vincent, Shaggy, and Scooby, surprising them while Shaggy and Scooby get scared off the chairs and toward the dancing crowd with Googie, Scrappy, Daphne, Crystal, Amber, the Hex Girls, Dilla, Marcie, Jay, Damien, Rowena, Willow, and even the Ghoul School kids dancing along eventually.

As the Ghoul School kids danced along, Tanis and Willow giggled like giddy kids playing outside as they were dancing around the floor, inadvertently making it difficult for a little red gremlin of sorts to make it through without getting squished before the monsters finished the song with a raise of the arms.
Citizens: 🎵La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la, Halloween, Halloween!

Then, as soon as the monsters cheered and laughed in celebration, Googie went over to the monsters.
End The Nightmare Before Christmas Music: "This is Halloween"
"Wow. That wasn't bad, guys.", Googie grinned.
"Wasn't it terrifying?", the werewolf asked.
"Yep. It sure is. By the way, do you know where the castle of a certain king might be?", Googie asked.
However, the moment the question was asked, the pianist lowered his arms and literally dropped his mouth onto the piano keys as the monsters knew who Googie was talking about.
"The Goblin King?!", the monsters exclaimed before a vampire screamed in fear with the monsters clearing out of the bar in rather unique and comical ways for each monster as a sea monster hid inside the sink with a bigger, greener spikier gremlin running past the mummy, who was running the same direction as best he could, before the wrapping paper got caught and unwrapped the mummy, revealing a sort of cross between human and skeleton as his eyes were spinning and he was wearing blue underwear with red spots before he screamed and ran faster just as the hunchback opened the Iron Maiden, went inside and closed it before the maiden even screamed in panic before lifting up her apparent skirt and then ran away.
"Yeah, that could be a bad sign.", Scrappy guessed.
"But how? I didn't even mention his name.", Googie puzzled.
"They must've guessed who you were talking about as a technicality.", Vincent guessed.
Then, the Boo Brothers, the only monsters who hadn't left, spoke up.
"Hold on a minute. Could it be?", Freako puzzled.
"Now that you mention it, one of them did sound famillar.", Meako added before the group, including Vincent, Flim Flam, and the Ghoul School kids, turned to notice the three Boo Brothers.
"It is them! Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy, too! They're all here! Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck!", Shreako exclaimed in surprise.
"Zoinks! It's the Boo Brothers!", Shaggy exclaimed in surprise.
"Well, what do you know? It really is the Boo Brothers!", Scrappy reacted in amazement.
"You guys know 'em?", Flim Flam asked.
"Know 'em? We offered a home for them out in the south.", Scrappy responded.
"Yeah. South.", Scooby responded.
"And, uh, who are those jokers and tykes with you?", Freako asked.
"'Jokers'?", Vincent puzzled.
"All right, can somebody explain?", Daphne asked.
"I second that.", Googie concurred.
"Me, too.", Crystal and Amber agreed.
"Double for all of us.", Marcie, Dilla, Jay, Damien, Rowena, and Willow added in unison.
"Oh. I don't think the rest of you guys are properly introduced. Ahem. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Boo Brothers Freako, Meako, and Shreako. Boo Brothers, meet Googie, Daphne, Vincent Van Ghoul, Flim Flam, Thorn, Dusk, Luna, Elsa, Phantasma, Sibella, Tanis, Winnie, Marcie, Dilla, Jay, Damien, Rowena, and Willow.", Scrappy introduced.
"Vincent? You mean the Vincent Van Ghoul?!", Freako realized.
"Of course I am.", Vincent responded.
"Wow! I didn't think we'd ever meet someone famous like you here!", Meako exclaimed in surprise.
"Yeah. We read about you in the papers, nyuck, nyuck, nyuck!", Shreako grinned.
"Yes, I'm sure you have. I also heard about your ghost extermination business.", Vincent spoke.
"Well, you know what they say, Vincent. It takes a ghost to catch a ghost.", Freako responded.
"Sounds kind of ironic, doesn't it?", Daphne commented before two voices suddenly called out.
"Goblin patrol!", one voice shouted.
"Hold it right there!", another added as the two sources popped up, making Scooby and Shaggy shake in fear.
"Oh, no. The shadow goblins...", Vincent sighed.
"Do you know something about them?", Crystal asked.
"They're the Goblin King's guards sent out on patrol. When it comes to authoritative strength, they clearly excel in that manner.", Vincent responded.
"Ooh, you've done it now, boys. No one dares speak of the Goblin King.", Glum spoke before Glob then whacked him in the head with the side of his axe.
"Ow! What'd you do that for?", Glum asked.
"You said 'Goblin King'!", Glob responded before Glum then stepped on Glob's foot on purpose.
"Ow! Hey!", Glob exclaimed.
"Don't say 'Goblin King'.", Glum mocked, wagging his finger.
"You said it first!", Glob exclaimed, bashing against Glum's head.
"You have no right for assault!", Glum retorted.
"I have a right to do it because you said it first!", Glob retorted as he leapt at Glum as the two fought.
"Maybe we should all sneak out while we can.", Googie suggested.
"A sound idea.", Vincent agreed before they all tip-toed away only for Glob to stop them after a few seconds.
"Hang on there! Just where do you think you're going?", Glob asked.
"Well, if you must know, we have urgent business to discuss with his majesty at his castle.", Vincent responded.
"Is that a fact? Maybe you all can hash this all out in the Goblin Dungeons. We even have a nice little playroom for the kiddies, too.", Glum responded with a smirk before chuckling evilly.
"Come on, the party's just getting started!", a voice called out.
"Huh? Who said that?", Googie asked.
"Try looking up there.", Thorn suggested as she looked up and saw a Jack-o-Lantern before the rest of the group looked up and saw him.
"So, tell me, goblin boy. Is this a private fight or can anybody join in?", the Jack-o-lantern asked.
"Like, why not? The more, the scarier.", Shaggy responded with a nervous smile as he and Scooby backed away.
"My thoughts exactly, Shaggy.", Vincent grinned before the pumpkin chuckled and jumped off, landing onto the bar table in front of the two goblin guards.
"Step aside, you. Nobody messes with the shadow goblins!", Glum warned.
"Ooh! What are you gonna do? Breathe on me? If you wanna go a few rounds with old Jack O'Lantern right here, right now, let's rumble!", the Jack-o-lantern goaded with a chuckle, making the two goblins cautious, if not nervous, as they backed away.
"Whoa, whoa, hey, come on. Take it easy, there, Jack. Come on, we were only doing our jobs, please.", Glob responded.
"Wait till we tell the Goblin King about this. You're gonna be in so much trouble!", Glum spoke before laughing.
"Shut it, will ya?!", Glob retorted, smacking Glum in the face with a backhand.
"Hey, what'd I say?", Glum asked, banging his fists on Glob's head.
"You said, 'Goblin King'!", Glob responded as he stretched Glum's ear before the two goblins started fighting each other again.
"So..., wanna give sneaking away again a try?", Marcie asked.
"Posthaste this time.", Vincent responded before the group snuck away more quickly.
Then, in the commotion, Jack jumped off the table and rolled up the stairs leading to the exit.
"Thank you for the assist, Jack. I'm sure they were only doing their jobs, but they can be quite tedious.", Vincent spoke.
"Hey, whatever you say, Mr. Van Ghoul. Anyway, come on! This place is dead!", Jack joked before chuckling.
"That, we can agree upon, Jack.", Vincent concurred as he and the group followed upstairs straight to the exit.
A/N: That's right. The next story after this one is "The Nightmare Before Christmas", which crosses over with "Coraline" this time around. The downside is, I only got 3 of its first chapters ready. The upside, though, is that this Scooby-Doo story can be read in its entirety. :)
