Will We Ever Be Together
One morning, Unikitty and her friends woke up from their beds and rushed to the kitchen to eat breakfast. Unikitty was the last one to enter as she had a special surprise that she wanted to share with her friends.
"Hey, guys! I have a big surprise for everyone!" Unikitty proudly announced.
"That's nice, princess, but I'm still trying to make everyone's breakfast. Whatever it is you want to say, it can wait for now." Richard explained.
"Oh, alright!" Unikitty said, disappointed.
At that moment, Unikitty flew over to the table and took a seat right next to Puppycorn.
"Wow, sis! I can't wait to hear what your surprise is!" Puppycorn exclaimed. "All of your surprises are always awesome!"
"Aw! Thanks, little bro!" Unikitty thanked before kissing Puppycorn on the cheek.
After Puppycorn felt his sister kiss him on the cheek, his face suddenly turned red. He was suddenly overcome with a strong emotion. This wasn't the first time he felt this way. Whenever Puppycorn was around Unikitty, he started to think that Unikitty looked beautiful. He hadn't felt this way since he broke up with Rock Guy not too long ago. He loved everything about Unikitty. He loved how pretty she was, the way that she looked out for everyone, and the way that she was sweet and kind to everyone no matter what. It was by this point when Puppycorn's feelings were clear. He had a crush on his sister.
"Hey, are you feeling alright, champ?" Hawkodile asked, noticing Puppycorn's strange behavior.
"Uh, don't worry about it, Hawkodile. I'm fine." Puppycorn lied.
"Anyway, what is the big news that you want to share with us, Unikitty?" Dr. Fox asked.
"You guys are going to love this! Next week, I'm going to be hosting a royal ball, and everyone is invited!" Unikitty explained.
As everyone heard Unikitty's idea, they all started to get excited. At least all except for Richard. As much as he loves sophisticated celebrations, he wished that Unikitty would have check in with him on this.
"Princess, you should have told me this sooner. One week is not enough time to prepare for this royal ball." Richard explained. "You have to cancel this celebration."
"Oh, that's going to be a problem, Richard!" Unikitty gave a sheepish grin. "I kind of sent invitations to everyone in the kingdom already."
At that moment, the royal advisor let out a frustrated sigh. If it wasn't for the fact that Richard didn't have any hands, he would have facepalmed so hard.
"I suppose we don't have a choice, but to host that royal ball." Richard gave up.
With that, everyone cheered as they were ready to attend Unikitty's latest celebration. Once everyone finished breakfast, Hawkodile left for some bodyguard training, Dr. Fox returned to her lab to work on more experiments, and Richard continued to do chores around the castle. As for Unikitty and Puppycorn, they were the last to leave the kitchen as they shared a smile with each other.
"Wow, sis! You always come up with the most cheerful celebrations!" Puppycorn complimented.
"Thanks, little bro! I was actually thinking about getting some ice cream to celebrate. Would you like to join me?" Unikitty asked her brother.
"Would I? Of course I want to!" Puppycorn smiled as he happily wagged his tail.
Unikitty giggled before feeling a blush across her face. She desperately tried to cover her blush as Puppycorn was distracted. Unikitty had recently developed a crush on Puppycorn, and tried so hard to keep it a secret. Everyday, the princess thought of how cute Puppycorn was and how happy he always made her. As much as she wanted to tell Puppycorn how she felt, she knew that she couldn't, considering that he was her brother.
It wasn't long before Unikitty and Puppycorn decided to leave the castle. As they walked through the kingdom, Puppycorn was thinking about what flavor ice cream he would want.
"So, I'm thinking about getting a chocolate ice cream cone." Puppycorn told his sister.
"You can't have chocolate, silly! You are a dog, remember?" Unikitty pointed out.
"Oh, right!" Puppycorn realized. "I guess I'll just have plain vanilla instead!"
Every second, Puppycorn got more and more excited. It warmed Unikitty's heart to see Puppycorn so happy. She was willing to do anything for her brother, whenever it involved making him happy, cheering him up when he is sad, or even defending him from Master Frown. No matter what, Unikitty would always be there for Puppycorn.
After a couple of minutes, Unikitty and Puppycorn reached the ice cream truck. Unikitty ordered a plain vanilla flavored ice cream for Puppycorn and strawberry flavored for herself. Once the siblings got their ice cream, they sat down next to each other on a bench, enjoying the rest of this lovely day.
So far, today has been an amazing day for Puppycorn. Not because, he got to have some ice cream, but because he got to spend the day with Unikitty. There was nobody else who he would rather spend this perfect day with.
Once Puppycorn finished his ice cream, he sent a grateful smile towards his sister. "Thanks for this awesome day, sis!"
"You're welcome, Puppycorn! I was happy to spend the day with you." Unikitty smiled.
It was at this point when Unikitty and Puppycorn stared at one another and got lost in each other's eyes. Neither of them knew what to say until Puppycorn decided to break the awkward silence.
"Um, Unikitty? There is actually something that I've been wanting to tell you for sometime." Puppycorn admitted.
"Actually, there is something that I've wanted to tell you as well, Puppycorn." Unikitty said before taking a deep breath. "You see, I think that I'm in love with-"
Before Unikitty could finish her confession, Richard showed up at the last second.
"There you are! I have been looking everywhere for you two." Richard explained. "Princess, if you want to have that royal ball next week, you need to help us out with the preparations. Meet me back at the castle, so that we can be ready."
"Okay, Richard. I'll be there soon." Unikitty assured.
As Richard left, Puppycorn turned to his sister and asked, "So, what was it that you wanted to tell me, sis?"
"Oh! Uh, I think that I forgot what I wanted to say!" Unikitty lied as she started to blush.
"Well, I think that I forgot what I was going to say too." Puppycorn replied.
"Oh well! Let's just go back home. I'm sure that our friends are waiting for us."
Soon, Unikitty and Puppycorn got up from the bench as they make their way back to their castle. The royal siblings didn't know whether to feel sad or relieved that they didn't confess their feelings just yet. Truthfully, they hoped that the royal ball would be a nice distraction from their romantic feelings. Maybe someday, Unikitty and Puppycorn would have the courage to confess their love for each other.
The End
