Scarlett was taking a blow torch to a long metallic weapon, wearing a welders mask to protect her eyes as she worked. Decked out in a white tank top and cut off jeans she had been working on this strange new weapon in her work lab for the whole second half of her work day. The first half? Working on the suit that would go with it. The suit, now that was a piece of art that would make any sculptor proud. It was a heavily armored combat suit equipped with a jet pack, painted blue with yellow tints. While the armor was something to behold, it was the helmet that acted as the icing on this highly dangerous, highly advanced battle suit. It was made to look like a falcons head, a giant bird of pray. The purpose was to make it look just as intimidating as it was dangerous when it was taken to the sky. She didn't want to brag but she believed she did a pretty decent job of doing just that.

Now she just had to work on the weapon systems. She had gotten just about most of them completed, she had equipped the wrist gauntlet in her suit with a concussive blast, a small rocket that, while not that deadly would be able to knock any enemy back several feet, useful if there was a hostage situation, or if a enemy had pinned a innocent civilian. The one wearing the suit could just fire the quick concussive blast and allow the trapped civilian or hostage to make their escape. Their was also retractable barrages in the solder pads in her suit that would allow the wielder of this magnificent suit to continuously shoot out several rockets at a time until empty. Useful if one is surrounded by a large number of enemies and needs a mean to escape.

Then there was what she was working on now, her rocket launcher, a large, hand held canon that fired off a large single rocket at a time. The canon held six rockets, each powerful enough to bring down a building. This suit would give the military crucial air support, able to see and attack what the ground troopers couldn't.

Now at the age of seventeen, Scarlett tried desperately and failed to join the Watchdogs when she was sixteen. But still being a minor her mother Poppy flat out refused. Instead she got her a job at Vishkar, a company dedicated to building advanced military weapons to protect the world. Poppy got her the job so that she could still feel like she was protecting the world. And even though she did appreciate the job and excelled in it, it just didn't quite feel the same as being out there on the field. She wanted to fight beside her father Branch, the leader of the Watchdogs. She wanted to battle the Raptors, she wanted to be a hero, and while she understood the reasoning behind Poppy's refusal, she still couldn't quite feel like she was being a bit overprotective. After all Scarlett was far from a kid now and could handle herself, and she was sure that Branch would refuse to let anything happen to his little girl.

She never said it out loud but she believed that the accident that forced Poppy into retirement on the night Scarlett was born had a lot to do with Poppy's refusal. Her mother nearly died that night, Scarlett was almost never born. Poppy was shot in the eye by a sniper who turned out to be a old friend of her. Poppy fell off the roof she was perched on and nearly drowned in the sea. Poppy lost a eye and if it wasn't for a emergency C-section by the fast acting nurses Scarlett would been miscarried. It was the fear of a similar or worse situation that Scarlett believed was the reason Poppy would not allow Scarlett to be a Watchdog. And while she understood the fear it did not hurt any less.

"Scarlett?" The sound of her name being called caused her to snap out of her train of thought and jerk her head up, accidentally bumping her head against her desk lamp.

"Yes, Satin?" She asked turning her approach her boss, or rather bosses Satin and Chenille. They were a couple of twin trolls connected by their hair, and if it wasn't for their different skin color they would be basically identical.

"How is progress coming on your newest creation?"

"Hey the creation has a name. I call it Falcona Mach I. The first in what I hope will be thousands of falcon like flight suits that will assist the military in the war." Scarlett showed Satin and Chenille the Falcona Mach I and awed in her creation. "It has concussive blasts to knock enemies back, rocket barrages that fires off more than two dozen rockets at a time, and the primary weapon..." Scarlett held up the unfinished canon "A giant rocket launcher that can hold up to six highly powerful rockets at a time. With hundreds of these on the battle field at a time the enemy will have almost no way to defend themselves."

Satin and Chenille glazed over the Falcona Mach I, and nodded in approval of the suit, she did have one question though "Does it only come in that one color or can they come in a wide range of colors?"

"Well this is only the Mach I, I think color won't matter because they will be to high in the sky for the enemy to see anyway. The color can depend on whatever the buyer wants."

"Alright," Chenille approved nodding her head. "I want to see the full thing in action before I am ready put it on the market but I am liking what I am hearing. Finish up the rocket launcher and then you are fee to go home for the weekend. Make sure to turn off the lights when you leave."

"Always," Scarlett hollered as the twins were already on their way towards the exit.

Once she was alone again she instantly lowered her mask over her face again and got back to work on her rocket launcher. She wouldn't admit it to anyone but she pictured herself in this beautiful, highly weaponized jet pack powered suit. Blasting through robots, Raptors and anyone else who threatened her home. She pictured how amazing she would look in the Falcona March I and how proud her father would be of her in it. She knew it was only a dream though. For as soon as this was done it would be shipped out along with hundreds or thousands more like it and she would never be allowed to keep even one of them for herself. The same could be said for any of her creations. She had a lot of good creations in her one year at Vishkar, many weapons that she watched get sold to whichever military force bought them. She never got to keep a single one for her own personal protection.

Finishing up her rocket launcher she placed it in the glove of the Falcona Mach I and admired at her finished project. Putting one hand on the breast plate, she closed her eyes and whispered softly to the suit. "You are the greatest thing I ever made. I wish I could keep at least you. But sadly I can't." Then closing the display case she turned off the light and closed the door to her work shop before heading to catch the tram back home.

Scarlett sat quietly, staring out the window as the tram sped down the tracks at a high speed. Vishkar didn't just make weapons for the military. They also created new ways to power Egypt, creating newer, and fancier technology to help run the country. Thanks to Vishkar Egypt had become one of the most technically advanced countries in the world, trailing that of possibly only Japan. The tram she was riding on now was one of the many advanced creations that Vishkar made within the past two decades. The tram was basically a flying train. It soared high above traffic on blue energy tracks that was holographic so birds and other flying wildlife didn't get hurt flying through them and the conductor could still see them and stay on them. These Trams were able to go at a higher speed then even the fastest of normal passenger trains, about twice as fast.

As Scarlett stared out the passenger window down at the many houses they were passing she saw something at the corner of her eyes that caught her attention. It was a young troll girl building something in what looked like her workshop. But it was what she was building that caught her attention, it looked like a giant robot, Twice the size of her. It had four blue legs, a long giraffe like body and what looked like blue metallic hair and even a hat for some strange reason. creating robots had been outlawed world wide ever since the start of the second robot war so she had no idea why this young girl who didn't even look like a teenager would risk making such a big intimidating looking robot. But she didn't have time to ask as the train just zipped by and out of sight of the young girl and her robot within three seconds.

"I am so sorry to hear about Reby," Poppy was Zoom calling Branch on her laptop, the same as they had been doing once a week since they found out each other was alive, it was hard being on different parts of the world. They still held the same feelings they had for each other years ago. But Poppy made her decision to keep Scarlett safe so until the world was safe again Poppy would continue to hide out in Egypt, far away from the Watchdog's and sadly Branch. "I really hope she get's better soon. I don't know how Scarlett is going to take this, Reby is Scarlett's third favorite watchdog only behind you and Hiccup."

"You don't know how I will take what?" Scarlett asked as she walked through the front door.

"Reby, she has been severely wounded, she is currently comatose.

"Oh no!" Scarlett gasped "She's going to be okay right?"

"Tooth said she will live but that's all she can promise us right now." Branch responded before changing the subject. "How you holding up kid?"

"The same as always dad," Scarlett replied sitting next to her mother on the couch in order to talk to her dad. "I just completed a new suit, that is powered by a jet pack and fires rockets. I call it the Falcona Mach I. I still need to give it a few test trials but I suspect that military all over the world will soon be wearing my creation into the battle field.

"That's great honey. Glad to see that you are thriving in your career. I'm really proud that you are out there trying to make a difference the best way you can."

"Yeah but it's still not the same. I really wish I could be flying that suit with you in the battle field. You should see it dad, I would look just like a giant bird of pray out there in the field, shooting rockets down at those damn Raptors."

"First of all watch your language. Second, you know that I will not contradict your mother, she is one raising you. Besides with you building all these high tech weaponry, you are just as much fighting against the Raptors as much as I am."

"I guess," Scarlett sighed even though she was not as certain as her father.

"Love you Sweetie," Branch blew Scarlett a kiss as he hung up. Once he did Scarlett shot up from her seat and confronted her mother.

"You know you can't stop me from pursuing my dream forever right?"

"Come again?" Poppy asked, confused at Scarlett's sudden harsh behavior.

"The Watchdogs mom!" Scarlett snapped "You know you can't prevent me from applying for them forever."

"Scarlett, we have been through this."

"I am almost eighteen mom! And the second I turn eighteen I am considered legally an adult which means I am old enough to make my own decisions without answering to you."

"Now look here young lady, as long as you live under my roof you will live under my rules."

"Well once I turn eighteen I don't have to live under your roof, the second I'm out I am applying for the Watchdog's without your say."

"You forget who the head of the Watchdogs is Scarlett, your father!"

Scarlett paused as she realized that Branch would be the one who had the final say in hiring her, and she knew Poppy would fight Branch to the end to stop him from dragging their daughter into the war. "Dammit mom why are you so against me following in yours and dad's footsteps? I thought you would be proud of me continuing the family tradition.

"Look at me Scarlett!" Poppy screamed as she pointed to her eye patch. "Look at what the war did to me! I got this the night I had you. I almost lost you to the war the night you were born I am not going to risk losing you again! As long as I am breathing I will not allow you to join and that's final!"

"So that's it then?" Scarlett responded "One traumatic experience, and then suddenly you become a coward and flee everything you fought for."

Poppy snapped at that comment "I gave up everything for you! All I wanted was to keep you safe like any good mother would do!"

"And you did mom, but I'm almost eighteen, I'm basically an adult. You don't have to be afraid anymore. You can rejoin the Watchdogs be a hero again."

"It's been seventeen years, I'm nowhere near the soldier I once was. And I also have one less eye then when I was a Watchdog. I was once the best sniper in the world, but now I doubt I could even hit a target."

"You won't know unless you try. I know what happened that night, you nearly lost me and your life, your world changed forever that day. But you can't continue to live in fear. Mom, you was Dad's second in command, he trusted you with his life, I believe that woman he trusted is still inside you."

Poppy sighed as she closed her eye and folded her arms, before turning her back towards her and lowering her head. "Go to your room until dinner is ready, we are done discussing this."

Scarlett sighed as she turned to walk upstairs, but halfway up she turned and looked down at her mom and said one last thing to her. "You know I'm right. Even if your to scared to admit it. The world needs the best sniper in the world, and yet your to scared to even attempt to regain what you lost. I thought you were a hero, heroes don't coward and hide. Heroes fight for the innocent, even when they are scared."

With those last words Scarlett marched up to her room. Once Poppy heard the door slam she sat down on the couch and buried her head in her hands and sobbed. Was Scarlett right? Was Poppy scared to go back knowing what she had nearly lost. She had given up everything for Scarlett but yet she felt that her attempts to keep her safe might cost her to lose her.

Scarlett was mumbling to herself as the TV played in the background, regardless of what her mother said she would not give up on her dreams of being a Watchdog. Taking out a piece of paper she started sketching how she believed she would look in the Falcona Mach I when she heard something on the news that caught her attention.

"And even though the Watchdogs has been able to handle the robot attacks, they have done little to stop the more than dozen Raptor attacks from all over the world."

"See, that's why they need me and mom, they're stretched thin."

"Reports say that Raptor attacks always happened simultaneously as the robot attacks."

"Can't be a coincidence," Scarlett thought, "What are they up to."

Scarlett suddenly jumped to her feet when she saw footage of the Raptors attacks. But it wasn't because of the horror due to the nature of the attacks, but because of what they were using. One Raptor agent was wearing specialized gloves that was able to create a force field around the entire city, trapping everyone inside city limits. Another agent placed small spherical sensory turrets that fired a ray that burned through and killed everyone that tried to flee through that exit. There was a teleportation device that helped send non super powered soldiers to other areas just walking through the teleporter. Then there was what she saw Creek himself using. A special hand held ray gun that fired a strong ray at targets, and the longer the ray stayed on a target, the stronger it became. The ray was supposed to be used to go through tough brick walls if someone was trapped inside and couldn't escape. But he was using it on people.

"Oh my god," Scarlett gasped "Those are my creations."

In case you are wondering which Overwatch character Scarlett is based on she is based on the character Phara, who wore a flying suit exactly like the one I am using in here. If you are curious on what Scarlett's suit looks like, look up Phara on the internet. It is a spitting image of the suit.

But fair warning, please make sure the safe search is activated before you look her up, some of the fan art of her can get a little um... steamy. There are a lot of perverts in the Overwatch fandom.

Until then, stay safe, stay at home and I will see you next time.
