Your all going to probably hate me at the end of this one.
Suki didn't say much as she waited for the Split Sea to pick her up. She didn't say anything as the team flew towards Santa Fe to rescue to the people that the Raptors had abducted. Instead she just sat in silence, her knees curled up to her chin and looked down at the ground. She couldn't get her mind off of what she had just done. Sure she had taken quite a few lives in this war, but every life she took was justified, they were armed, it was self defense, they were going to kill her or someone else. This was different, this was a vengeance kill, murder. The guy was helpless, wasn't in any position to fight back, and yet she blew him up.
That moment ran through her mind again and again during the flight to Santa Fe, the moment when she lit the fuse and pushed the Trolley over the edge blowing it and Hal Stewart up. He had taunted her, got under her skin, and she retaliated in the worst way possible. She felt terrible, she wanted more than anything to take back what she did. But there was no taking it back no matter how much it destroyed her she had to live with the fact that she killed someone in cold blood, and knowing that it would haunt her forever.
As Peabody flew the Split Sea Branch walked over to the back row where Suki sat alone, as she stared out the window of the plane.
"Emily was dropped off at the headquarters where Barb and Reby will be watching her. I'm sure even with a few broken bones Reby could keep that kid entertained."
Suki's response was not what Branch expected. Without even turning to face him she just let out a depressed sigh. "Does she know... what I did?"
"No," Branch ensured.
"Good, keep it that way."
"Look none of us think any less of you for what happened. If I was in your shoes I wouldn't have even hesitated."
"But I'm not you Branch!" Suki snapped. "I'm supposed to be the upbeat optimistic one, the fun one. The one that will crack jokes and lighten up everyone's day. I'm not supposed to snap like I did."
"Your family was attacked, even the most upbeat person in the world can't be expected to stay in their right mind after what you have been through."
"That still doesn't justify what I did."
Sighing, Branch went silent for a couple of seconds as he worked to find the right reply to try to cheer Suki up.
"Look, when I thought I had lost Poppy, lost Scarlett I did many of things I wish I hadn't. I killed many unarmed people as I worked to track down the Raptors and eliminate them one by one. I can't tell you how many unarmed people I intentionally killed during my mission for vengeance. If anybody knows how you are feeling right now it's me. I wish I could take back the things I did, but I can't, but what you did back there doesn't define what you are. You are a great soldier that got pushed into making a bad decision due to a personal situation. You have to learn to forgive yourself for what happened Suki, otherwise you will fall deeper and deeper down a hole you can't climb out of. Don't make the same choices I did Suki. I nearly lost who I was because I couldn't let go of my anger and guilt, but you still can. Do it for your family."
"We are arriving to our location Commander," Peabody was overheard saying.
"Let's just get this over with." Was all Suki said as she grabbed her weapons. Not even acknowledging what Branch had told her.
"You really think our friends are in there?" Jack asked as he looked at the size of the hideout as the ship landed.
"Considering this is the only clue we have to go on, they better."
"Let's cripple them," Po growled as he grabbed his bow.
"Lena's in there," Suki sighed. "My Lena."
"We'll get her back." Branch replied gently before addressing the team. "Let's move!"
Hiccup had Toothless melt down the giant metal doors as everyone rushed inside, weapons drawn and ready to fire. Creek, Ashe, and Drago was leaning over a table looking at a map as the Watchdogs surrounded the trio, their weapons pointed at them.
"In the name of the Watchdogs you are under arrest!" Branch growled.
"Where's Lena!" Suki demanded "Where is she!?"
Creek just chuckled not even the least bit intimidated as he snapped his fingers. "Lena is right here, along with everyone else."
With the snap of his fingers every single one of the abducted came out of the shadows and surrounded the Watchdogs. There eyes glowed purple as they were now under Creeks control.
"What did you do to them?" Scarlett asked as she saw Harper's glowing eyes.
"Oh nothing to drastic," Creek laughed "Just put a little chip in their brains that makes them one hundred percent obedient to my every command. Humans are so easy to control, almost as easy as robots. Put a little chip in their brain and they are powerless to fight back." Creek then turned to his mind warped army. "Now, destroy them."
The Watchdogs ran for cover as Creek's brainwashed minions opened fire on them. Scarlett, Suki, Branch, and Hiccup all ducked behind a desk as bullets sailed over their heads.
"What's the plan now boss?" Hiccup screamed as he tried to shield the bullets that was flying his way.
"We can't hurt them, they are innocent victims being controlled against their will," Scarlett argued.
"Not to mention one of them is my wife!" Suki added.
"Well we can't just hide behind here and wait to be murdered either!" Branch argued.
"So what's the plan?" Scarlett asked.
"Stun them, wound them, don't kill." Branch peaked his head out from behind the desk before having to quickly duck for cover again as someone shot a rocket launcher in their direction.
Hiccup had to quickly pull out his shield to avoid him or the others from getting blown up by the rocket. "Might be a little easier said then done though!"
Creek just laughed as he saw the Watchdogs scrambling to find how to take his brainwashed army down. "Beautiful, just beautiful."
"You knew they wouldn't dare try to hurt innocent blood did you?" Ashe asked.
"That's what makes us the more Apex predator Ashe. While the Watchdogs will only aim to hurt those that they assume are enemies to the people. We will destroy anything and anyone that stands between us and getting what we most desire. That is why I preferred an army of brainwashed minions, that is why I targeted the Watchdogs loved ones."
"Because they would never hurt those they care for or those that are deemed the victims." Ashe chuckled.
"Now you are catching on."
"So now what?"
"Now, we leave and watch from a distance as the Watchdogs crumble due to their biggest weakness."
Creek then left alongside Ashe and Drago, chuckling to themselves over their presumed victory.
An AK 47 in her hand, Jo fired at Poppy, Guy Diamond, and Biggie's direction. Quickly ducking to avoid getting shot Poppy lunged at Jo and worked to try to wrestle the gun out of her hand.
"Jo! I know you are still in there. I know you are not in control of your actions but please I'm begging you, you got to fight this. Reby needs you."
Jo didn't respond as she eventually overpowered Poppy, knocked her to the ground and pointed her gun at Poppy's head.
Before Jo could pull the trigger however Biggie tossed his chained hook at Jo, yanking the gun out of her hand before tossing it again pulling Jo toward his direction. Biggie then knocked Jo over the top of the head knocking her to the floor.
"Stay down!"
"Biggie, don't hurt her, she is a victim."
"I don't think that's going to stop her from trying to hurt us though," Guy diamond replied.
Before anyone could react Jo got back to her feet and pulled out a mace, whacking Guy Diamond across the face with it before pulling out a dagger and turning towards Poppy.
Seeing her friend in trouble Bridgette tossed out a non lethal gas mine at Jo's direction. The mine exploded on impact causing gas to surround and overwhelm Jo. Jo fell to her knees coughing allowing Poppy to shoot her with a tranquilizer dart causing her to go into a deep sleep.
"Forgive me Jo." Poppy sighed as she saw Jo laying on the ground unconscious.
"You okay Guy Diamond?" Biggie asked as he helped his friend off the floor.
"Biggie why is there seven of you?" Guy Diamond replied replied in a faint voice before collapsing.
On another side of the room Scarlett, Astrid, and Hiccup found themselves having all she could handle with Harper. Harper was armed with two machetes and even though Hiccup had a sword and Astrid had her ax, both of them were scared to retaliate over fear of seriously injuring her.
Then there was Scarlett with her rocket launcher. One shot with her rockets would easily kill Harper making it to where all she could do was try to reach through to her as she battled Hiccup and Astrid, who was both doing all they could to block Harper's strikes.
"Harper, please if you can hear me in there I beg you, fight this. You are a genius for your age. A child prodigy. You built a giant robot all by yourself to protect the world. You helped me find out that the Raptors forced my boss against her will to sell my weapons to them. You are one of the coolest kids I have ever known.
Harper stopped battling Hiccup and Astrid long enough to turn and glance at Scarlett's direction. There at that moment all three of them thought they might be getting through to Harper. Hiccup and Astrid watched as Harper slowly walked over towards Scarlett who was kneeling down to Harper's level and holding out her hand.
"It's okay Harper, I won't hurt you. Just come towards me, I'm going to help you. I am going to find a way to fix this."
As Harper stopped just a few inches from Scarlett everyone got all excited thinking her spell was about to be broken. Their excitement quickly turned to horror however as Scarlett took out one of her machete's and ran it right through Scarlett's abdomen.
"No!" Astrid screamed as Scarlett collapsed, dropping her rocket launcher. Harper picked up Scarlett's rocket launcher and pointed it at Scarlett's direction as Scarlett just watched helplessly unable to react.
"Harper," Scarlett coughed as she spit up blood. "Don't"
Harper didn't hear her as she fired. Thankfully for Scarlett Hiccup leaped right in front of her, his shield drawn as his shield took the full impact of the blast. The blast was still powerful enough to knock the both of them back, knocking the both of them hard into a wall. As the dust settled Hiccup saw Scarlett laying lifeless, her suit destroyed and blood pouring from her abdomen.
"NO!" Hiccup screamed. At that moment he forgot that Harper was brainwashed, he forgot that Harper was just a kid. Anger took over his emotions. His boss's daughter was mortally wounded, and he had no idea if she was still alive or not. Right now the only thing on his mind was avenging his boss's daughter. Whistling for Toothless, he boarded his dragon and charged at Harper, grabbing her by the chest and slamming her into a wall on the other side of the building.
"Hiccup don't!" Astrid screamed mortified. Boarding Stormfly she chased after her husband.
As Harper fell to the floor Hiccup pulled out his flaming sword and lifted it over Harper's head. He was about to lower it when he heard Astrid call out
"HICCUP STOP!"
Turning around he saw Astrid looking down at him horrified. Looking back down at Harper who laid on the ground unconscious, he snapped back to his senses and lowered his weapon.
"I'm sorry Astrid. I'm..." Hiccup lowered his head in shame.
"It's okay, I understand. But let's not forget who the real enemy is."
"SCARLETT!" The two of them turned their heads in horror as they heard Branch calling out for his daughter. That is when they saw Branch kneeling over his daughter his fingers checking for a pulse. Then they saw Branch get up, tears streaming from his eyes as he picked up his rifle. Then with a loud scream he started opening fire on the entire room.
"Branch stop! These are victims!" Astrid screamed.
Branch didn't care, these people hurt his daughter and he was going to make them pay. Running through the room he fired again and again, striking a couple people in the chest.
Astrid had to get Branch to calm down fast, flying her dragon to Poppy's location she cried out for her help.
"Branch is going crazy, you have to calm him down before he murders all these people!"
Nodding her head Poppy, put a tranquilizer dart in her wrist gauntlet and ran towards Branch's location.
Branch had just gunned down another couple of people and pointed his gun at Lena's direction when he felt a sting in his neck. Rubbing his neck he pulled out the tranquilizer dart and turned around seeing Poppy grab him as he went weak.
"Poppy..." Branch gasped.
"It's okay Branch," Poppy ensured "Don't forget who the enemy is."
With that Branch went numb and passed out in Poppy's arms.
Back with Scarlett, Tooth was doing everything in her power to heal Scarlett of her near fatal wounds.
"Come on Scarlett, don't you dare die on me girl." Tooth cried as she took her Cosmic staff and started pumping as much nano tech as she could in her. She was so distracted with healing Scarlett she didn't see Lena sneaking up behind her with a grenade.
"Tooth watch out!" Tooth heard Shifu cry.
Turning around Tooth froze in horror as Lena tossed the grenade. It exploded on impact tossing Tooth and the already wounded Scarlett across the room.
"No!" Shifu ran up to Tooth and instantly checked for a pulse, she was still alive but barely. Picking Tooth up and tossing her over his shoulders he called out for Poppy.
"We got to get out of here now, we can't fight them."
"Agreed," Poppy cried out as she carried Branch. "Watchdogs fall back."
Hiccup picked Scarlett up in his arms and carried her out as the building started to catch fire around them. As everyone boarded the Split Sea Jack noticed one person in particular was missing.
"Wait, where's Suki?"
"Oh no." Poppy gasped, knowing just what Suki was about to attempt to do.
Back inside despite the building already starting to burn to the ground, Suki confronted her wife. Lena stood completely still, her back turned to Suki as Suki put a loving hand on her shoulder.
"Lena please, it's me Suki, your wife. I know your in there, you got to break free, for me, for Emily. Please, I can't bare the thought of losing you. After I thought my pilot career was over I became a Watchdog with the sole purpose to protect you. If I lose you, I... don't know what I will do." Suki sobbed as she tried everything she could to reach through to her. "Please. I cannot live without you. You got to break free."
Jack, Po, Shifu and Poppy all ran back inside crying out for Suki.
"There she is!" Jack pointed out, she was only a few yards in front of them, Jack's eyes then lit up in horror. Lena was taking out a grenade and Suki was to distracted pleading to her through her tears to notice.
"Suki! Get down!"
Jack ran towards Suki and pushed her out of the way just as Lena threw the grenade. Jack then created a ice wall to protect Suki as he took the full impact of the grenade.
"JACK!" Suki cried as she heard the explosion go off.
Po, Shifu and Poppy all gasped as they ran to check on their fellow soldier. As Lena walked away to escape the burning building. Picking up Harper and Jo along the way who still lied unconscious, Suki ran to Jack who laid next to his ice wall in a coat of blood.
"Jack, Jack," Suki cried, "Stay with me please. I am so sorry, this is all my fault."
"It's okay Suki..." Jack whispered in a weak tone.
"No it's not. I should have left with you but I was stupid, I thought I could get through to her. This is all because of me."
"Anybody would have done the same thing in your shoes." Jack whispered. Poppy, Shifu and Po looked on in sadness. They could tell Jack wasn't going to make it.
"Suki listen to me, this place is going to collapse in any minute, you got to get out of here, you all have to get out of here."
"I am not leaving without you, you just saved my life I can't leave you."
"There's no time, it's to late for me. But it's not to late for Lena, or any of them. You can still save her Suki, you can save them all. Don't give up faith. Don't give up..."
Then Jack closed his eyes for the last time. Suki screamed and started balling as she clinched the body of her friend.
"JACK! NO PLEASE JACK!"
"We got to go!" Po grabbed Suki by the arm and started leading her away.
"NO PLEASE JACK!"
"It's to late for him!" Po cried "If we don't leave now we all die!"
The building started to collapse and everyone had to run for their lives as the building crumbled behind them.
Exiting the building just as it finished crumbling to the ground the four of them boarded the Split Sea with the rest of the surviving Watchdogs.
"Where's Jack?" Peabody noticed
Suki could only cry and bury herself in Peabody's arms. That was all everyone had to see to know what happened. Jack was gone.
*Jo and Reby bangs at my bunker door in anger as they try to break in*
"JPBAKE you let us in this minute! You can't hide from us forever!"
*I nail down some boards across my door and quadruple lock everything as I continue to hide from the angry mob*
