Okay so I was hoping to get this up either Wednesday or yesterday but I have had an absolute hell of a week. Monday when I was working on this story I hit a button by complete accident and lost a whole bunch of work and had to start completely over. Then Tuesday we had a big ice storm and I lost power for two whole days delaying this more. But here it is, finally up, the final battle. Hope it was worth the wait.
Smidge shot her particle canon at Creek's direction, firing it's energy beam at the troll responsible for not only killing her former employer but also the troll she helped turn his life around and actually do something noble. As Creek teleported out of the way she continued to keep her beam locked on him, refusing to let him get away.
"You have ruined countless of lives Creek. Destroyed entire families, entire cities! I am not letting you get away!"
As Creek teleported out of range of her beam again, he reappeared just inches from Smidge's face and kicked her in the face, knocking her to the ground. He pointed his machine gun at her ready to fire when Branch fired his helix rockets, barely missing him. The blast from the rockets did get Creek's attention though and caused him to turn around.
"It's you and me Creek!"
Creek just chuckled as he lowered his weapon, not showing any signs of fear as he approached the Watchdog commander. "Give it up old man, you cannot win."
"I say we just did!" Branch replied "It's game over for you. Your little army is defeated. Surrender now!"
Creek just chuckled. "Look around you Branch, I still have thousands of Raptor agents who listen and obey my every order. You think that destroying my little satellite will change anything? I have been planning for this day for a decade! You should no that I am going to have a little backup plan in place.
Branch and Smidge watched as Creek's entire vanes lit up a bright purple, then suddenly a giant ring of purple energy shot out of him and circled the entire globe. Branch watched as his rifle suddenly sparked and then exploded in his hands, as well as Smidge's particle canon. That wasn't all though, most of the Watchdog's weapons suddenly shut off, as well as all power and electricity in the Country.
"What the hell?" Branch gasped before turning to Creek
"I just hacked the entire planet!" Creek laughed as he pointed his gun at the commander. "All the world's power, now defenseless."
Desperate, Branch tried to call Reby, only to get static. It was no use, all power was gone.
Which was not a good sign for Suki. With all technology shut off her Chronal Accelerator started to malfunction and she found herself struggling to stay in this time again.
"No," Suki cried as she fell to her knees, trying to stay in her time as she felt herself started to glitch. "Not again, not again!"
"Suki," Lena cried taking her wife's hand. "Stay with me love, stay with me!"
"You monster!" Branch roared at Creek. "Your going to kill her."
"Oh Branch, when I'm done. All of you are going to die!" Creek then pointed his gun at the Watchdog's direction and turned to his army. "Kill them!"
Hiccup and Astrid swooped down in front of the rest of the team as they clinched tightly to their weapons.
"Hide! We got this!" Hiccup ordered
"No chance, in hell! We will not flee!"
"No disrespect commander but how do you suppose you fight with no weapons?"
"We do have weapons," Branch held up his two fist. "But I do ask you cover us so we can get close."
"Will do commander!" Astrid replied as her and Hiccup put up their shields. They then slowly approached the huge wave of gun fire heading their way. With their shields up the bullets was able to bounce right off them, but they knew that the shields would only hold up for so long. Whatever Branch was planning, he had to do it fast.
On another side of the battle field, Scarlett, the twins, and Harper was fleeing Drago as he shot blades out in their directions.
"Inside that hotel, hurry!" Harper cried as the four trolls ducked as a blade barely avoided her head.
"You four ain't going anywhere!" Drago roared as he charged his gauntlet. He then charged at Scarlett's direction, hitting her in the side with heavy force and sending her flying several feet into a wall.
"Scarlett!" Satin cried as Drago lifted Scarlett into the air before sending her crashing back down into the hard pavement.
"This time you die you little pest!" Drago then launched himself into the air, charging his gauntlet for a killing blow. "Meteor Strike!"
As Drago shot downward Shifu jumped in and placed himself over Scarlett and let out his famous Chinese chant that released his dragon spirits. With the swing of his staff the dragons exited and launched themselves at Drago. Drago had no time to dodge the oncoming attack as the dragons, surrounded him and started breathing spiritual fire at him.
"Get off you ghostly lizards!" Drago screamed as the dragons continued to breath fire him.
Sensing the upcoming crash landing Shifu grabbed Scarlett and leaped out of the way as Drago and the dragon spirits crashed onto the asphalt in a ball of fire. Shifu, Scarlett, the twins and Harper all watched as the smoke finally cleared. The dragon spirits exited the smoke and returned to Shifu's staff. Then they saw the fiery corpse of Drago laying on the ground. His infamous gauntlet was destroyed, and Drago was finally dead.
"Well talk about a gruesome demise." Harper replied.
"Thanks Shifu," Scarlett replied "But how come your staff isn't affected by Creek?"
"My staff is controlled by the dragon spirits, the same as Po's bow. As long as the dragon spirits reside in them, then they can never be destroyed or manipulated."
"Speaking of being controlled," Scarlett turned to Harper, do you think there is anyway of breaking the hack that Creek has on the world?"
"I can't lift an entire global hack," Harper shot back. "I'm not a miracle worker you know? I might be able to fix your weapons though."
"You get somewhere safe to work on that." Shifu replied as he took out his staff to rejoin the battle. "I will do what I can from out here!"
On another part of the battlefield, Puss had his paws full dodging the bullets Ashe constantly was shooting in his direction. With the rapid speed of her shooting, Puss was finding himself unable to attack, and was thus having to just play defense until Ashe ran out of bullets.
"There's nowhere to run now Pussy cat!"
"Ashe stop this," Puss cried as he dodged another bullet. "The satellite has been destroyed, it's over. Creek's plan has failed."
"You don't get it do you Puss?" Ashe responded as she fired another couple of bullets, forcing Puss to duck under a rock. "This was never about the Raptors or the Watchdogs, this was all about me finally getting my revenge on you after everything you have done to me. I could care less if Creek conquers the Earth or not. As long as I finally kill you, I don't care if the rest of the damn world burns!"
Ashe pointed her gun at the rock Puss was ducking under but as she pulled the trigger she realized that she was out of bullets.
Finally, Puss found his moment to attack. Jumping from behind the rock Puss swung his sword, Ash stretched out her arms and held her rifle sideways like a staff as Puss swung his sword a couple of times, blocking his blow each time. Ashe then struck Puss in the gut with the back of her rifle knocking him to the ground. She then pulled out a stick of dynamite and lit it.
"Time to fry pussy cat!"
She then tossed the dynamite at Puss's direction. Grabbing his sword Puss frantically retreated as the blast from the explosion knocked him backwards, slamming him into a boulder. Puss fell face first into the dirt, moaning and spitting up dirt, Puss saw Ashe walk through the flames and load her gun, pointing it at his direction.
"And now the infamous Puss in Boots finally dies at the hands of Elizabeth Caledonia Ashe."
Puss had to think fast if he was going to survive. As Ashe pointed the barrel of the gun at Puss's head, Puss lunged. He grabbed the Gun and was able to pull it out from the direction of his head just as the gun fired, striking a Raptor agent in the back and killing him. Puss then wrestled Ashe to the ground as the two of them fought for possession of the gun.
"Let go Puss, this is mine!" During the struggle Puss noticed Ashe reach for a six shooter in her side pocket. Pulling out his sword, he stabbed Ashe's hand into the dirt, pinning it in place as she let out a painful scream. Puss then gained control of the gun, yanking it out of her hands he struck her over the face with the back end of it, knocking her out.
As Ashe fell unconscious Puss broke the gun over his knees and then looked down and stared at his longtime rival.
"I don't like hitting a woman Ashe. But I will make an exception with you."
Scarlett, Harper, and the twins took shelter inside a hotel as Harper worked frantically to try to fix Scarlett's rocket launcher.
"Are you sure you can undo the damage Creek did on it?" Scarlett asked as Harper fiddled with the inside of the launcher.
"When I made Cooper I made sure he was one hundred percent hack proof. Sure that meant using a hack proof chip that I don't have access to, but that also meant studying all the secrets to hacking and how to override a hack just in case a scenario such as this ever happened. All I need is to do is a little fidgeting here and there and... done!" Harper held up Scarlett's rocket launcher with pride and handed back to it's rightful owner."
"Now all we need to do is fix your suit and you will be in the sky again." As Harper started to fiddle with Scarlett's suit Scarlett poked her head out the window to see a couple of Raptor agents closing in on her father as well as Smidge, Hiccup, and Astrid.
"I sure hope you right and this really is fixed Harper." Scarlett told herself as she fired the rocket launcher. Sure enough a rocket shot out and blasted the two Raptors threatening her father and friends. Branch turned to the direction of the blast and saw Scarlett giving a shy wave in his direction.
"Thanks sweetie."
"And done," Harper squealed closing a compartment on Scarlett's suit. "Your ready to fly."
"Give em hell Scarlett," Chenille replied
"Hey watch your language theirs a child present."
"Hey I've heard far worse."
"Let me guess on the Watchdog's cartoon?"
"Um? No!" Harper scoffed "That show was meant for kids."
Scarlett rolled her eyes as she opened the door only to see Suki cradled in a corner trying to prevent being glitched out of existence. Tooth was doing the best she could to help her by keeping her cosmic staff on her, but there was no guarantee that the nano technology in her staff could prevent her from disappearing. She needed her Chronal accelerator fixed, it was the only way to prevent her disappearance.
"Harper, I need you to help Suki otherwise she could disappear and possibly never return."
"I don't know if you have noticed Scarlett but I don't actually have a weapon to protect me out there."
"I will protect you in the skies, but right now you are Suki's only hope. You want to be a hero right, that's why you invented Cooper, well right now your hero status lies with more than Cooper, you help Suki and you will be the biggest hero on this battlefield right now. I believe in you."
"Us too," Satin replied.
Feeling determined Harper looked up to Scarlett and nodded. "Then I will not let you down."
As Scarlett took to the skies Harper ran over to where Suki was lying. Lena had Suki wrapped in her arms, refusing to let her go, but at the same time, her arms was blocking her from getting to the Chronel accelerator.
"Mam I am going to ask you to remove your arms so I can get to the device."
"No, I will not let Suki disappear again!"
"If you don't let me fix her Chronel Accelerator that will indeed happen."
"It's okay, Lena," Suki whispered as she glitched again "I trust her."
Lena sighed, still unsure but she let go of Suki anyway as Harper unscrewed the accelerator and went to work.
"So what exactly can a kid your age do anyway?" Lena asked
"Hey I may be only eleven but I am a expert engineer who has only made the first one hundred percent hack proof robot to protect my country from threats such as Creek. Suki's Chronel accelerator here is similar to some of my past inventions so if I just do a little tweaking with some of these wires and parts here I should be able to..."
"Look out!" Lena screamed as a Raptor approached them. Dropping her Cosmic staff Tooth took out a small pistol and shot the Raptor right in between the eyes, killing him. Something that took Suki by surprise.
"I don't think I have ever seen you take a life in all my years knowing you."
"I might not like violence but I'm not afraid to protect myself when I need to, especially for a patient."
"And got it." Harper squealed as she screwed the top part of the accelerator back on.
Suki hopped to her feet and started racing around the battlefield confirming that her accelerator was fully fixed. As she raced around the field she tapped one Raptor on the shoulder, blinked away as the raptor turned around and kicked him in the face, took his gun and shot him before she raced back over to the group.
"Oh yeah it's good to be back."
"Great so maybe you can assist in some of the fighting now!" Scarlett screamed from the skies as she fired a rocket at a raptor on the ground.
"I was getting a gun!" Suki shot back.
"Hey I thought you was protecting me, but you nearly let a Raptor get to me!" Harper shouted at Scarlett's direction.
"I was distracted by another agent firing right at me!" Scarlett responded.
Both Harper and Suki both rolled their eyes as Suki turned towards her wife and took her by the hands.
"I have to go the world needs me."
"I know."
"I promise you, I will return safely."
"I have no doubt, you are surrounded by the greatest heroes mankind has ever seen. You are in great hands with them. Be a hero Suki, be a savior, be a guardian, be a Watchdog."
Giving Lena a quick kiss on the lips Suki ran off, tackling down Raptor agents in the blink of an eye and stealing their guns to give to her unarmed comrades. Within less then a couple minutes every Watchdog was armed and in position to fight back.
"Time to put the odds in our favor Watchdogs!" Branch cried as he charged the army of Raptors. "No more playing defense. It's time we fight back!"
With that last rally cry, the Raptors charged the oncoming onslaught of Raptors. Branch and Smidge both stood backs towards each other as they both fired their new weapons at a swarm of Raptors, Astrid and Hiccup both stood in front the front lines with their shields up with one hand to shield the team from the swarm of bullets heading their way. With their other hands Hiccup swung his sword while Astrid swung her ax striking down as many Raptors as they could. Suki ran head on into the swarm, she would blink behind one Raptor, fire her weapon, then disappear before another Raptor could shoot in her direction. With her Chronal Accelerator fixed, she was able to appear and reappear anywhere she wanted within the blink of an eye, making it impossible for the Raptors to get a lock on her.
Peabody didn't even need a weapon, with his strength and aggressiveness he was able to lung at one enemy, break their weapon, and smash him into the ground before leaping into the air to find his next victim.
Perched up in a tower, Bridgette, Poppy, and Po was acting like snipers, taking out the enemy from above. Despite Poppy having one less eye then she did from her glory days she still hit her mark almost perfectly each time.
"Eighteen years later and I still got it," Poppy smiled after putting a bullet into a dozen Raptors.
Up in the sky Toothless and Stormfly were attacking the Raptors in the back of the pack away from the other Raptors, lighting them on fire and even grabbing some in their teeth and flying them high in the sky before dropping them to their demise.
Joining the dragons was Scarlett. From high in the sky she was almost invisible to her enemies which made it easy for her to fire her rockets down at them. Scarlett chuckled as she watched the Raptors get blown into the air after making contact with her rockets.
Watching everything from inside a tower was Creek. He watched as his army was being wiped out despite severely outnumbering them. The more Raptors that fell, the more Creek was worried that he could actually lose.
"No!" Creek roared, "This can't be happening, you guys are supposed to be the best of the best!"
"Hate to break it to you Creek!" Suddenly Scarlett appeared in front of him in the window and sent a smirk his way. "But justice will always win in the end." Scarlett then opened the compartments in the shoulders of her suit and fired rocket after rocket in Creek's direction.
"JUSTICE RAINS FROM ABOVE!"
Scarlett watched as Creek's tower crumbled to the ground and as the last Raptor fell all the Watchdogs watched as the tower crumbled into a cloud of dust.
For a moment there was nothing but silence as the Watchdogs waited for Creek to step out of the tower. After a couple of minutes and no sign of Creek Guy Diamond started celebrating.
"We won, HA HA in your face Creek, don't mess with the Watchdogs!"
Suddenly Creek teleported behind the Watchdogs, he was bloodied and bruised, with scratch marks all over his face, arms, and legs, but he was very much alive and mad.
"You ruined everything, years of planning down the drain!"
"It's over Creek!" Branch ordered "Give yourself up peacefully."
To his surprise Creek just chuckled. "No, I will never give up not as long as I am still breathing. You think I wouldn't have one final weapon up my sleeve?" Creek suddenly pulled out a small remote with a single red button on it. "I have been planning this for nine years, I ain't going to let nothing stand in my way." Creek then pushed the button and suddenly a giant mech suit, the size of a skyscraper came peaking out from a skyscraper. With a wicked smirk Creek teleported up into the controls of the mech and glared down at the Watchdogs below.
"Now Watchdogs, you will die!"
"This is going to be a challenge," Hiccup gulped.
"Watchdogs, hold together! Branch ordered "Do not separate!"
Creek aimed the mech's left arm at the group, as the palm opened up Hiccup and Astrid saw a giant ray gun charging up. "Shield up now!"
Hiccup and Astrid pulled their shields up just as the ray fired. As the ray hit the shields Hiccup and Astrid planted their feet into the asphalt as they struggled to keep the the shields from breaking as the ray got stronger and stronger the longer it stayed on target.
"Shield won't hold much longer!" Hiccup screamed as the shield shattered with such force it knocked the entire team onto the ground.
"Dad no!" Scarlett cried as she watched the scene unfold from the sky. Flying down to the mech suits level she started unloading rocket after rocket at the giant mech.
Creek just chuckled as she watched each rocket hit his magnificent mech, barely making a dent. Creek turned the suit to face the young hero before raising the mech's right hand and swatting Scarlett like she was a fly.
"NO!" Branch screamed as he saw Scarlett start descending at high speed. Acting fast Biggie tossed his hook chain, wrapped it around Scarlett's waist and pull her forwards as Suki blinked herself to Scarlett's location and grabbed her just before she crashed into the pavement.
"Thanks Suki," Scarlett wheezed, trying to catch her breath.
"No problem love," Suki replied before turning to Branch. "What now Commander?"
"I'm thinking,"
Before Branch could think further, they heard the sound of Creek charging up his ray again, suddenly they all heard the sound of a Gatling gun firing. Everybody turned to the left to see Fuzzbert in Gatling gun mode firing at the giant Mech suit.
"Hurry!" Fuzzbert replied to the team as he fired bullet after bullet, at such a high speed that it started knocking the mech backwards.
"This is our chance!" Po replied as he witnessed the scene from his perch before turning to Poppy and Bridgette "Me and Shifu will hold them off as long as we can, one of you take the shot."
"You and Shifu can't take that thing by yourselves!" Bridget protested,
"Not for long your right, that is why one of you must take a shot!" Po then jumped from his perch and joined the rest of the Watchdogs side. Taking out his bow he turned to his old friend and gave a sly smirk.
"Together one more time my friend."
Smiling Shifu took out his staff, with Po by his side they both spoke their famous Chinese chant then released the dragon spirits onto Creek's mech.
Back at the perch Poppy turned to her old friend "The shot's yours. You can finally get your vengeance for Gristle."
"No, I have taken to many lives already, you need to take it."
"But with my eye? Your the better shot, your the one that took my eye, your the one that was Brainwashed by the Raptors."
"Poppy, nine years ago you believed in me enough to break Raptors hold on me, now I believe in you. You may have lost an eye, but you are still the best damn sniper in the world." Bridget took out her grappling hook and aimed it at Creek's mech. "I will assist you, but you need to take the shot. Believe in yourself Poppy, like you believed in me."
Bridgett fired her grappling hook and landed on the Mech's windshield blocking Creek's view on his target.
"What are you doing? I can't see!"
"For Gristle you filthy piece of trash!" Bridget used the butt of her rifle to smash the windshield in causing Creek to use his arms to shield his face from the broken glass. Bridget then tossed in a gas grenade incapacitating Creek. Creek fell to his knees as he started gasping for air.
"Poppy, now!" Bridget screamed as she grappled away.
Poppy lined up her shot, staring through the scope she lined up a shot right at Creek's head. Time seemed to slow to a crawl as she pulled the trigger and watched as the bullet left her rifle and shot straight towards Creek, hitting him right in the side of the head. Creek fell backwards, dying before he even hit the ground. The Watchdogs all scattered as the mech suit fell forwards, crashing into the ground in a puff of smoke. Everyone was quite for a moment as the dust settled, then everyone broke in a cheer, the war was over, the Raptors was no more.
"We did it!" Guy Diamond screamed as he hugged Biggie. "Hug me my friend!"
"This calls for a celebration!" Astrid cheered "First round of drinks on me!"
With Creek's death every device he hacked went back online, and as Branch picked up his rifle he felt the comms turning back on and Reby calling him.
"Commander Branch, are you there? We lost signals for a while."
"I'm here Reby, everyone is okay."
"Does that mean the war is over?"
"It is Reby, we won. You did good out there today, I mean it. We couldn't of beat Creek without you."
"Just doing my job Commander."
"Branch," Puss suddenly put a hand on Branch's shoulders and gave him a concerned look. "Pitch is wanting to see you, said it's urgent."
"I'll call you back Reby." Branch hung up and walked towards where Pitch laid. Suki was resting Pitch's head on her lap as everyone gathered around their dying friend, including Poppy and Bridget, who had since left their positions to celebrate with their friends.
"I've been offering him some medical assistance but he won't accept any," Tooth told Branch concerned.
"Don't bother Tooth," Pitch replied in a faint voice "I've been living on borrowed time for twenty years now. At least I can have a noble death instead of one of a common criminal."
As Branch knelt to his dying former friend and fellow soldier, Pitch gave a faint smile.
"You remember the good old days of the Watchdogs Branch? The good old times we used to have? When we wasn't fighting the war we would have cookout's play golf and go to all the local pubs to watch the ballgames."
"Yeah," Branch let out a sad chuckle "We used to be the best of friends."
"Then I had to ruin it all due to my anger and jealousy towards you. I let myself be manipulated by Chef, let her take advantage of my anger to warp my mind. I wasted eighteen years of my life being angry at you, wanting to kill you. I truly am sorry."
"Your forgiven Pitch," Branch couldn't believe what he was seeing. Pitch, his former friend and enemy, the man who had betrayed them tried to kill them, was now dying in front of them taking a bullet for Suki after assisting them in taking down the organization he originally betrayed them for.
"Branch, do me one favor," Pitch's voice was getting weaker, he didn't have much longer. "Please, remember me for my time as a Watchdog, as your friend. Not what I had become these past several years. Remember me for these last moments."
"I promise."
With that Pitch looked up at the sky and smiled. "Thank you," With those last words Pitch closed his eyes, he leaned his neck back and his arm fell to the ground as he died.
What happened next was something that took everyone by surprise. His body became flakes and they started slowly blowing away in the breeze. Everyone watched in amazement as Pitch's entire body blew away in the breeze as tiny black flakes and descended into the sky and towards the sun.
As everyone watched the beautiful sight Poppy walked up to Branch and wrapped her arm around him. "Despite all he did, in death he truly was a Watchdog."
"Yes," Branch realized before turning to see watch the last of the flakes float away. "Yes he was, he was a Watchdog."
One more chapter and then we are done so don't go anywhere.
