Final chapter, let's wrap this up.
"Pitch, there is a lot to be said about him, a lot of them not good. But in his last moments Pitch showed his true colors, and he died a hero, a Watchdog."
One week later The Watchdogs held a private ceremony for both Pitch and Jack, who both gave their lives saving the world. Branch, being Pitch's oldest friend during his run with the organization gave Pitch's legacy. "As we are here today to honor Pitch's sacrifice we will remember not what he did these past years but what he did the final twenty four hours of his life. In his last day on this Earth Pitch showed great bravery and heroism, putting himself in between Creek and one of our own, taking bullets meant for someone else. Before that it was Pitch that revealed to us the exact satellite we needed to destroy to free the brainwashed. Without Pitch, we never could of freed all those people from Creek's control."
"Pitch isn't the only one we are honoring today however," Suki stepped up to the podium next. "On top of Pitch we also honor a man who gave his life for the world. He was a man, a scientist, who dedicated his life to helping humanity the best he knew how. He wasn't the most skilled fighter on the field, but when he was own the field he would be the first to stand in between an innocent person and a bullet. A dedication that that stayed with him to the end. Both Jack and Pitch died saving my life on separate occasions, and in their memory we put up statues that will rest in front of these Headquarters steps for the rest of time. Because both Jack and Pitch were heroes, and they will both forever be known as ones."
As taps was played on the intercom Guy Diamond and Biggie removed sheets over to big statues of Pitch and Jack. Jack had his staff resting over his shoulders while Pitch had both his guns crossed over his chest looking down at the ground. The rest of the Watchdogs stood on their feet and applauded as Hiccup and Stormfly shot some fireballs in the air in their memory.
After the ceremony Branch walked up and approached Suki.
"Hey, really appreciated your speech up there, I'm sure Jack would have appreciated it to."
"Just speaking from the heart Commander."
"How are you feeling Suki? I know that you have had a rough couple of weeks."
"I'm going to be okay, but there is something I want to bring to your attention."
"Tell me."
"These past couple of weeks I have realized that I want to be able to build memories with Emily. I don't want her to grow up and not know who I am. I have nearly died more than once these past couple of months and each time all I could think about was Emily and Lena. Now that the war is over, and the world is finally at peace, I would like to officially retire and offer you my two weeks notice."
"You sure about that Suki? You would be missed greatly on base."
"I am Commander. I want my daughter to have wonderful memories of me, and not remember me as the mother who was gone all the time because a threat called her away. I want to show her the world. Now that I have my pilot license again, I would like to show her all the beauty the world has to offer. I can't do that if I am gone nine months of the year."
Branch thought everything Suki was telling him over, before giving Lena a small nod. "Then I will accept, you will be missed dearly Suki, but I admire your dedication to family."
"Thank you Commander" Suki cried as she gave Branch a tight hug "You were always like a father to me Branch, I will always be grateful for everything you have done to me."
As Suki released Branch she went to rejoin Lena and Emily who was interacting with Peabody. Emily was fascinated over the idea of a super intelligent dog and was playing with Peabody's glasses much to Peabody's annoyance.
As Branch watched Suki pick up Emily and wrap her in a tight loving hug, a small tear formed in his eyes. A sight that didn't go unnoticed by Poppy as she walked up to him.
"Something on your mind Branch?"
"Poppy, be honest with me on something, do you think I made a mistake leaving you to lead the team?"
"What type of question is that?"
"Suki is willing to give up everything in order to spend more time with her family. Suki could be a future Captain, she is passing up future promotions to retire to make memories with those close to her, that is something I never did."
"What are you saying?"
"I'm saying I lost eighteen years with you Poppy. You was the most important troll in my life, and when I found out you was alive, I still chose the Watchdogs over you."
"The world needed you at that moment Branch, you was the only one who could lead that team against the Raptors."
"And that battle is over now. Now that the war is over, now may be time to finally have the life I wish I could have had with you."
Poppy's eyes went wide as Branch grabbed her by the hands. "What do you say Poppy? Would you love to explore the world with me? Just the two of us? Be by my side as we start a new adventure, away from the Watchdogs."
Tears filling up in her eyes Poppy nodded "Yes." She lunged herself into Poppy's arms as the two of them locked in a giant kiss. After the kiss broke Poppy and Branch noticed that they had caught the attention of everyone present, as they all cheered and applauded the couple.
"Well it's about time," Hiccup smiled.
"So did I hurt anyone while I was under Creek's control?" Jo asked Reby later that night as they walked across the Watchdog's headquarters. By now Reby was out of her cast and was able to walk again. For the first week after the spell was lifted, Jo didn't want to speak about what happened but now that time had past she was finally willing to open up about the ordeal.
"Well you did attack Cooper and Barb when Creek sent you to stop me from destroying the satellite, but don't worry about it they are both doing fine and well. Nobody has any hard feelings since they know you wasn't in control of your actions.
"I still feel kinda guilty though, I just don't know if I would be able to live with myself if I had actually hurt anybody."
"Don't think about that Jo," Reby replied putting a comforting hand on Jo's shoulder. "If anything you being under Creek's spell actually helped in my recovery."
"How could you say something like that?"
"You being under Creek's spell actually helped give me the motivation to be more than just D. Va. Your ordeal helped me discover how to be a hero without my mech. You always told me I was more than just that mech, that the mech didn't make me a hero. I didn't believe it until I was put in a situation where your life depended on me. So in a way I actually got to thank you for helping show me who I can truly be."
"Um, your welcome," Jo replied a little unsure how to take the situation.
"Hey, Reby you got a second?" Chenille walked up behind Reby and tapped her on the shoulder getting her attention.
"What is it?"
"Me, Harper and Scarlett have something we would like to show you."
Curious Reby and Jo followed the twins to the hanger where Harper, Gobber and Scarlett stood next to something giant covered in a sheet.
"Harper studied the design of your original mech and well after long discussion Harper wanted to make you a little thank you gift for helping break the spell Creek put own her and millions of others."
"I made a few modifications with the help of Scarlett, Gobber and the twins but..." Harper pulled away the sheet to show Reby a new Mech suit, it looked exactly like her old one, only a tad bit bigger and extra cannons.
"What do you think?" Gobber asked
"I... LOVE IT!" Reby screamed running up to her new mech suit. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
As Reby climbed into her new mech suit she saw her guardian angel right sitting right beside her.
"You did good Reby,"
"Thanks to you,"
"Ah you would have figured it out even without my help eventually. I just steered you on the right track that's all."
"Will I ever see you again after this."
"Eh, I'm sure you'll have another few near death experiences. There's always going to be wars to fight."
"I never got your name."
"Anthony, it's Anthony." Then the angel left leaving Reby to test out her new suit. Gobber opened up the hanger doors and Reby started up her new mech suit and flew off, screaming in joy as she took off into the air.
"Oh yeah, D. Va is back!"
On another part of the globe Puss led Ashe to a highly secured prison in a small island surrounded by rough currents.
"Welcome to your new home Ashe."
"You really think this will hold me? I've escaped every prison I have ever been in!"
"True, but this one is surrounded by some of the roughest seas on this half of the Equator. You'd have to be the best swimmer in the world to escape here, and I highly doubt there is going to be another terrorist orginazation to bail you out this time.
"Screw you Puss, this is not over, I will get my revenge eventually!"
"See you around Ashe, or not!" Puss then walked out as Ashe was locked in her cell. Ashe continued to scream curses at Puss's direction as Puss exited the prison. As the doors closed Puss let out a small smile, knowing he had just seen the last of his longtime foe.
Two weeks later the Watchdogs was having Suki's retirement party. Everybody was giving Suki hugs while trying their best to hold back the tears, several like Guy Diamond, failed miserably though.
"I'm going to miss you," Peabody said as he gave his longtime friend a hug.
"Oh this isn't goodbye love. I will still visit often. As long as you all keep your current address that is." Everybody let out a small laugh at that remark.
As everybody was saying their goodbyes Branch got on stage and tapped his wine glass to get everyone's attention. "Suki, for the past several years you have served the Watchdogs with loyalty and dedication. You have been a amazing agent that everyone could rely on and wasn't afraid to put yourself in life threatening situations. You were more than just another agent, you was a hero to many, not just in your home country. The Watchdogs will not be the same without you." Branch then lifted up his glass "To Suki!"
"To Suki!" everyone echoed before taking a drink.
"There is another retirement I want to mention though to real quickly." Branch suddenly replied causing a few confused mumbles among the crowd. "For the past nine years I have proudly served as your commander, and I couldn't be more proud or honored to lead you all during this war. But now with the war over, it's time for me to move on." That response got a huge gasp from the rest of the team.
"These past few weeks I have realized that I have missed out on so much, missed out a future with the woman I consider the most important person in my life. As I announce my retirement I also announce that me and Poppy are now engaged and will be passing the role of Commander to the only person I believe is worthy of being my successor, Peabody." Branch picked up his glass again. "To Peabody ladies and gentlemen!"
Peabody was taken aback at the sudden news as well as applause being sent his way. "Branch are you sure about this?"
"There isn't anybody else I think more deserving."
"Dad!" Scarlett suddenly ran onto stage confused at the sudden announcement. "How is the Watchdogs going to survive though without you?"
"The Watchdogs was never me Scarlett, the Watchdogs was always about all of us. And besides, the Branch legacy will still live on with the Watchdogs, in you."
Scarlett suddenly gasped "You mean?"
"You have more than proved yourself ready to carry on my legacy Scarlett. Congratulations, you are now officially a permanent Watchdog."
"Oh thank you daddy, thank you!" Scarlett was in tears as she gave her father the tightest hug she had ever given anyone. "I will not let you down."
"I know you won't dear."
A few months later Suki and Lena was pouring themselves both a glass of wine as they stared at Bali jungle, their plane resting on a small inactive volcano. Seeing all the beautiful trees, the majestic birds that flew over head, the smile on Emily's face as the colorful birds past by, made her know that this was worth the retirement.
"This is all I ever wanted." Suki smiled as she kissed her daughter's forehead before giving Lena a kiss. As the three of them stared off into the jungle, Emily pointed to the beautiful colors that the sky made as the sun set, making the scenery even more beautiful.
At that very moment in Hawaii, Branch and Poppy was honeymooning on a beach, Branch was fiddling with the radio as he heard a news report on the radio. "With the longtime war with the Raptors vanquished by the hands of the Watchdogs the world leaders have all agreed to officially reinstate the Watchdog program. No longer will the Watchdogs be labelled outlaws and they will legally be allowed resume activities again."
"Like we ever needed your permission." Branch giggled thinking back at all the years the Watchdogs operated without the law knowing.
"Also in related news thanks to the push from the Watchdogs as well as robot right activists all around the world, the Equal rights for Robots law has been signed into law. This law will prohibit any discrimination against robots world wide, allowing them to live in peace among humans and trolls alike. Newly appointed Watchdog Commander Peabody labels this ruling a "Huge victory in the Watchdog's ongoing mission for global peace.""
"The Watchdogs will be just fine Branch," Branch chuckled to himself as he stared next to his newlywed wife Poppy, laying beside him in a beach chair. She was wearing a sunhat, and shades, in a teal bikini and sipping on a martini. Reaching over and giving her a kiss on the lips he chuckled as he repeated to himself, knowing it as a fact.
"The Watchdogs will be just fine."
And that's it, hope you have had fun with this long running series. I know it was different from any other Trolls story with several other Dreamworks characters being brought in as well as it's heavy science fiction feel but I hope you still enjoyed it. I do have one more Stand alone Trolls story that I am hoping to get started on within the next couple of weeks as well as a Sequel to my Trolls Crossover with Sofia the First, a sequel that I have been getting tons of requests for these past few months. Then after those two stories I will officially be done writing for the Trolls fandom. Till next time I will see you all later.
