We're at the halfway mark! Five more chapters to go, hopefully once a week! Please review if you like this. Again, this is an AU, so while many things that happened in canon happened in this universe, some things happened differently or not at all and I may reference them. Time-wise, this takes place in arc 9 of WITCH(which seems to be about 3-4 years after the first arc) and about four-five years after the first season of ML. Who's your favorite girl/s, which one/s are you most like, and which power would you want to have? And what do you think ML characters would look like as Guardians and vice versa? I actually wrote a theme song, but I probably won't include it in every chapter.

"Last time on Magical Girl Island," Chris narrated, "the girls had to capture an animal and bring it unharmed to the cage. Rena Rouge managed to catch a bear, but Hay Lin had to bribe it with marshmallows to make it stay in the cage. Team Ladybug won, and Team Guardians voted off Will since she took so long to bring her frog. Who will be voted off next? Find out now on Magical...Girl...Island!"

"Where's Chef?"Irma wondered out loud as they walked into the main lodge and didn't see him. "Chef is off-duty now," Chris said, "and if you'll follow me I'll show you why. I think you'll love this challenge," he continued, which caused the girls to roll their eyes, because why would they like one of Chris's crazy challenges?

Irma: I don't know about the others, but I actually like the challenges. We're able to use our powers as much as we want, and they're kind of fun, though sometimes they're scary. I think I have a chance of winning, I just hope Hay Lin and I won't be the only ones left on our team. We are best friends and it would be so awkward to fight each other.

Marinette: I have to say, I do like the challenges. They're a great way to practice our teamwork and strategy, but the Guardians do have more powers and are at an advantage. I just hope we can all be friends with each other when the season is over.

The girls were at the edge of the thousand-foot-high mountain, listening to Chris explain the challenge. "For this challenge," Chris said, "we'll be seeing how well you can perform physically and mentally after stuffing yourselves." He pointed to two large chocolate cakes and said, "you'll first eat as much as you can, then you'll climb up the thousand-foot-high mountain while dodging boulders. Then you'll jump or dive into the water, swim to the bottom where you'll find canoes, bring the canoes to the surface then paddle from there around the island and back to the mountain. As usual, all powers are acceptable accept for flying. The reward this time is a luxurious private shower for your team. Now ready… set...go!" he said as he blasted an air-horn, and the girls were off.

The first part was easy enough, but the boulders were pretty large, and while Ladybug and crew was easily jumping on and over them, the Guardians had to mostly blast them. In between blasting the boulders and frantically dodging them, the Guardians looked enviously at Team Ladybug and their acrobatics. They sure wished they could do that as well!

Irma: I'm not taking back what I said earlier, but those boulders were crazy! Us Guardians may have more powers, but when it comes to physical activity, Team Ladybug has a huge advantage! Maybe we should do gymnastics instead of dancing.

Once they reached the top, Chris, who had flown there in a helicopter, said, "alright, now it's time to get in the water. Just so you know, the sharks will be released into the water in five minutes. The canoes are color-coded, and as soon as you get your canoes to the surface, you'll have to paddle them while being chased by the sharks, and you'll have to get them going with your powers or weapons since you won't have any oars. The race won't start until both teams are in their canoes." He then hovered there while the girls looked apprehensively at the water below. Sure, they faced plenty of danger before, but jumping into water from that high was scary.

Irma: Yes! We're going to be in my element now! We are going to win this for sure!

Taranee: Jumping into water from high up can be dangerous, though probably not for Irma. If I get severely injured from this, Chris is getting fried!

The Guardians jumped in first, but not before Irma made a water bubble around them for protection. While they were falling, she also concentrated on making sure that landing in the water wouldn't hurt them. When they landed, she got rid of the bubble and Hay Lin created air bubbles around their heads so they could breathe. When they found the canoes, they saw that they were filled with rocks, and Irma easily moved the ones in the pink canoe with her powers. Irma also used her water powers to bring the canoe to the surface.

"You're the first ones up, and so quickly too. I guess challenges involving your elements need to be a lot more challenging," Chris said.

Ladybug and her friends and jumped in, using their tools to breathe as they swam. When they saw the rocks in the red with black spots canoe, Ladybug and Ryuko alternated between using their tools to breathe and using them to cut and move the rocks. When they were done, Ladybug wrapped the canoe in her yo-yo string and started pulling it as she swam upwards. The others grabbed onto the string as

well as they swam, but it still took a few minutes.

Marinette: That was embarrassing, but our suits are more effective on land. We do have ways of making our suits be more effective in different environments, but I didn't think we'd need them. Anyway, our tools can be breathing devices when we need them to be, so there's that.

"You finally made it," Chris said as they surfaced. "It's almost time for the sharks to be released, so get in." When they were in, he said, "three, two, one, go!" and the Guardians were on the way as Irma and Hay Lin used their powers to make the canoe speed ahead.

Rena and Ryuko used their tools as paddles while Ladybug summoned her Lucky Charm, which was a lasso.

"And the sharks are here," Chris announced as the sharks were released. "The Guardians are going really fast, but are they faster than sharks? And what will Ladybug do? Tune in after the break to find out." The camera then faded to black.

"Welcome back to Magical Girl Island, where both teams are currently racing around the island in canoes while being chased by sharks," Chris said after the break. "Let's see how they're doing."

"Rena Rouge, make an illusion of fish swimming around the island," Ladybug said as she twirled her lasso and snagged a fin. They started moving rapidly as the shark swam, and they went faster when Rena cast her illusion. "We might win again!" Ladybug said cheerfully as she held on to the lasso while Rena Rouge and Ryuko fended off the sharks with their weapons.

"Who wants shark meat for dinner?" Taranee yelled as she blasted the sharks with fire.

"Don't hurt them, it's not their fault," Hay Lin said as she used her wind on the sharks.

"Well I don't want them to take a bite out of me," the Fire Guardian retorted.

"It's hard to blast them and steer at the same time!" Irma exclaimed in an annoyed tone, causing Taranee and Hay Lin to stand on opposite sides of her and blast sharks that came too close. Irma concentrated hard as she sent them rocketing towards the finish line; she really wanted that luxury shower!

"The Guardians win, and Team Ladybug has to vote someone off," Chris announced as the Guardians crossed the finish line.

Marinette: Oh boy, this is hard. I suppose Kagami. Her sword is handy, but Alya's illusions are much handier.

Alya: I can't vote off Marinette, she's my best friend! Anyway, Kagami's powers aren't that useful, so I guess I'll vote her off.

While Team Ladybug had their elimination ceremony, the Guardians were all in Kandrakar since the Oracle had summoned them.

"Guardians," Yan Lin said solemnly, "you have faced and defeated many evils, but there is an evil coming that I fear you won't be able to defeat." She then explained that there were alternate universes out there who were also in danger from this evil, and they would likely need the help of their counterparts to defeat this evil. "But you have some time," she said reassuringly, "and as soon as you're done competing we will talk more, and I may introduce Ladybug and her friends to Kandrakar." She then sent the five girls to their cabins, where they started a telepathic conversation to discuss what they just heard.

Meanwhile, at the campfire, Chris gave Marinette and Alya each a marshmallow, and told Kagami she was voted off.

"I had fun," Kagami said as she gave her friends a hug, then she walked down the Dock of Shame and onto the Boat of Losers.

"With Kagami voted off," Chris said, "this means that tomorrow's challenge will be three against two. Will Marinette and Alya win? To find out tomorrow, tune into Magical… Girl… Island!"

I have a story in the cartoon universe and others in the comic one, and this story is in an AU based on the comic. I'm definitely going to have all three teams meet, but first I want to finish this story. I think all the alternate universe action will be in my Rise of MAGIC story, but that will take a while to update. Please review this and my other stories, and I will try to have the next chapters out as soon as possible.
