Yukio screamed as blue flames began to burn everything around him. "Yukio!" Rin cried, immediately running into the fire. Upon reaching his twin, the older Demon wrapped his arms around the boy. Filled with a blind panic, Yukio began to struggle madly to escape, still screaming. Wrapping his arms tightly around his brother, Rin took the blows silently. Even one that caught him in the ribs. Flinching as the bone broke, and the now sharp part nicked his lung, the Indigo-haired teenager only held the younger Demon closer, "Yukio! It's okay! I'm okay! Please, you have to calm down!" he begged. Yukio was beset by flashbacks of his memories, watching his brother suffering and unable to help. Tears spilled down the boy's face, "please, please please, oh please n-no!" he sobbed. Due to this, the only thing Rin could do was hold his brother close and keep repeating that he was fine until he exhausted himself and fell asleep in his brother's arms. Rin sighed as the flames faded away, before wincing as his ribs set and healed themselves. He whimpered slightly as they did, 'shit that hurt' he thought, coughing up the bit of blood that had gotten into his lungs as his injury healed.
Looking down at his brother, Rin sighed and held Yukio a bit closer, 'this whole situation is way to familiar,' he thought, remembering that day 10 years ago when he had been in Pre-School and had lost control of his temper. Their Dad had tried to calm him down only to end up with broken ribs. But he hadn't had Demonic healing abilities, and so had had to be taken to the Hospital. 'I won't tell him. My Rib is healed now, and it will only make him feel even worse. Yukio's guilt right now is enough to rival mine after what happened with Dad that night' Rin thought. Picking Yukio up, the older boy carried his twin back up to their room.

Yukio slowly came too, blinking up at the ceiling of his and Rin's room. He shot up in bed with a gasp, "Rin!" he cried. "Woah, hey I'm okay!" a familiar voice called next to him. The brown-haired boy turned to the voice and saw the blurry figure of his twin sitting next to him. A hand was held out to him and Yukio realised that Rin was handing him his glasses. He took them with a slight huff, "if our state as Demons, or half-Demons, whatever we are allows us to heal massive, life-threatening injury, why not little things, like my eyesight?" he muttered. The Indigo-haired boy shrugged, "who knows, maybe it's because you were born with bad eyesight. Our Demonic healing can't fix that" he replied unsurely. Yukio sighed, "yeah, that makes sense" he muttered. There was a silence between them, one that Rin was hesitant to break, but he knew that they had to talk about his brother's reaction to seeing his blood. "So Yukio, about what happened earlier during breakfast-" he began, but was cut off mid-sentence by the younger boy, "I don't think I can be a Doctor anymore" he replied in a thick voice. There was a deafening silence between the two boys. Then Rin said one word: "what?"

Rin stared in shock at his little brother. He almost couldn't comprehend the words the boy had just said. So he decided to ask him, "what do you mean that you can't be a Doctor anymore? That was always your dream, ever since we were little kids!" the Teenage Demon demanded, utterly confused. "I know, I just- after what happened to you, the sight of your blood, maybe any blood, made me go into a full-on panic. I can't treat people's injuries if I have a panic attack every time someone gets hurt!" Yukio replied, squeezing his eyes shut against the threat of tears. "Yukio-" Rin muttered sadly, remembering how much his brother had always wanted to be a Doctor. After a moment, the older boy sighed, "alright," he agreed. His brother turned to look at him in shock, "really, just like that? I thought that it would take multiple arguments for you to agree" Yukio asked. "Well, I can't deny that all that shit we went through before wasn't traumatic. I'll agree to you taking a break from being a Doctor and seeing if this fear of blood thing is something that's stuck, but don't give up just yet, okay bro? give yourself some time to recover and see if it get's better later, okay?" Rin said. Yukio sighed, "yeah, okay. That seems fair." He replied, then went silent and looked away. The Inigo-haired Demon sighed and adjusted the blanket covering his twin, "I just don't want you to immediately throw away something that you worked so hard for and love without giving yourself a chance, okay?" he asked. "Yeah, okay. Don't worry Rin, I won't quit just yet" Yukio muttered. Rin looked down at him sadly. The two sat in an awkward silence, trying to figure out what to do or say now. Right as Rin went to speak their was a knock at the door. Yukio looked over at it in surprise, getting up and walking over to it, "I wonder who that could be?" he said to himself.
Upon opening the door however, both Yukio and Rin smiled, "Shiemi!" they cried happily at the same time. The teenage girl smiled up at the two Half-Demons, "hi Rin! Hi Yuki! Are you two feeling better?" she asked. "We can talk more when you come inside, come on!" Rin said excitedly, ushering their friend inside. Once she was settled, Shiemi smiled up at the two boys, "you two look like you're doing better now" she said happily. "Well, we're getting their" Yukio replied, hiding his discomfort at lying to the girl behind a practiced smile. "I'll just go make us some tea real quick. Be back in a minute Shiemi!" Rin called, waving as he left the room. "Okay, thank you Rin!" the blond girl called back.

The older brother sighed as he went to the kitchen. His rib and lung had healed completely now, but he still didn't like lying to his brother. Still, giving up being a Doctor! That was crazy! He only hoped that Shiemi could talk him out of it. Upon reaching the kitchen, Rin found Ukobach their like usual. "Hey buddy" Rin said as he entered. "Rin! Why didn't anyone tell me that you were back! What about your brother, what happened! their were Earthquakes everywhere for a while, and-!" the Stove Spirit rushed out, worry and relief making him talk too fast to be understandable. "Woah, woah! Calm down already! You're talking too fast for me to understand you" Rin replied. Ukobach sighed, "sorry, I was just really worried about you. Can you tell me what happened since you've been gone?" he asked. "Sure, wanna help me make some tea and snacks while I explain everything?" the teenager replied. "Of course" his friend said.
(Timeskip)
"Are you serious?! He was possessed by Satan!" Ukobach exclaimed in disbelief. "Yeah, though because he'd awakened as a Demon, Yukio managed to survive the possession. I'm at least thankful for that" Rin replied as he made the tea. The Stove Demon was making the snacks. "So am I. I can't believe that not only was it your grandfather that did that to you, but that you also managed to defeat the freaking king of all Demons and Gahena! I mean, that's just- wow" he muttered in disbelief, shaking his head. "Yeah, well, it's over for now, but Yukio seems to be having a hard time dealing with everything, not to mention the loss of his own humanity" Rin replied sadly, thinking about how he'd felt when he fully realised that he'd become an actual Demon. "Well, I hope you can help him through this Rin. Just be there for Yukio as much as you can. I know you can do it" Ukobach said as he waved his friend off. "Thanks for the help, and the talk" the young Demon called as he carried the tray with their food and drinks on it back upstairs.
When he reached their room, Rin went to knock on the door, only to stop in his tracks as his brother's voice reached his ears, "I just don't know what to do" Yukio muttered. "I think you should listen to Rin and wait for a while. You've always been a wonderful Doctor. Yes, you're having some problems now, that's why you should take a break and wait to see if it's still a problem later on. Rin is actually very wise when it comes to things like this. He did help me realise the truth about what my Grandma would want after all. So, don't worry about being a Doctor for a while. Focus on dealing with the other changes going on in your life. You don't have to be perfect Yuki. Just go slow, just like Rin said, okay?" Shiemi asked. 'Are they gonna be done soon?' Rin thought dully. Yes, he was glad that their friend was helping Yukio, but despite having super Demon strength, his arms were getting tired holding all of this. Deciding to just open the door and go in, Rin did just that, "hey guys, I'm back-" he began, only to stop in his tracks when he saw the sight in front of him. Yukio and Shiemi were kissing. Suddenly losing all feeling in his hands, Rin dropped the tray, causing a loud *smashing* sound.
Shiemi pulled away from his brother and turned to face him, "Rin-" she began, but the older brother was already backing away, tears in his eyes. "Rin!" she cried as he turned and ran away as fast as he could. The blond-haired girl turned back to the shocked-looking Yukio, "why did you do that! I told you that I don't like you like that Yuki!" she exclaimed. "I-I just-" he muttered, shocked himself. Why had he kissed Shiemi? He hadn't even thought about it, his body just moved. Frozen in shocked confusion, Yukio didn't even notice the human girl racing out of the Dorm after his brother, "Rin! Come back!" she cried.
