Nothing was said since they got inside. Barley was quietly setting up a game of Quests of Yore, while Ian was upstairs in his room and Arrow was in solitude on the couch petting Shadow. Then they heard an unlocking of the door and Laurel comes in with Colt following after her.

"Hey, guys…" Laurel addressed them. Barley and Arrow waved back

"Why is it so dark in here?" Colt asked. The house had the drapes covering the windows. Colt began to trot over and tried to uncover them.

"Stop!" Arrow then blocked Colt's way

"Geez, Arrow I'm just trying to let some moonlight in"

"Maybe she gets moon-burned," Laurel joked.

Arrow again tried to block the centaur's way, but it was futile since he was larger than her and he uncovered the blinds letting in the moonlight. Arrow then tried to find her sunglasses while trying to keep her eyes closed.

"Arrow, what has gotten into you?" Laurel asked

"Mom, cover the windows now…" Barley warned.

"Barley, don't talk to your mother like-"

"Colt, Look-" Laurel said speechless.

Colt saw what Laurel was looking at and he saw Arrow's glowing eyes.

"What the…" Colt spoke. Arrow then quickly shuts the windows. Shadow then gives her the sunglasses which she quickly puts on.

"What…was… That?" Colt asked her

"And you better have a good-" Laurel started.

"I don't know what it is okay…" Arrow yelled almost bursting into tears

Everyone was stunned when she yelled, even her poor pet dragon.

"Listen…" She whispered trying to calm herself down "All I know is that you guys are the first outside of Mr. and Ms. to know about this…. That's why Mr. had those rules"

"What rules?" Colt asked her

"Stay hidden, stay away from people, only go out with it's a supply run, don't trust anyone, especially the cops, and finally, never EVER go out at night"

"I can see why…"

"Are you sure just...Mr. and Ms. know about this" Ian asked coming downstairs

"You don't believe me, go to the prison and ask them, their names are Reese and Matthew"

Colt wrote down their names to keep in handy and went to talk into his walkie.

"We called this "The Thing"...I don't know exactly how I got this, but Mr. was more determined than ever to keep me hidden when he saw this"

"Okay, I talked to a few officers, We're going to question them tomorrow to see if they knew anything about…. "The Thing" but until then, you're going to school"

"School?" Arrow asked leaning in.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure you've never heard of school before or been to one". Colt spoke.

"Well gee, I guess being hidden for most of my life I don't know what school is and Mr. never gave a talon about my education to even take me to one" Arrow reacted sarcastically

"Okay... both of you need to knock it off, especially you," Laurel scolded pointing towards Arrow

"Fine…" Arrow said crossing her arms. Colt smirked seeing the teen being put in her place.

"You should also get your clothes ready for tomorrow"

"Wait so I'm going to school tomorrow?" Arrow asked

"Yep"

Arrow grumbled getting a few clothes and walking up the stairs to the bathroom.

The next morning, loud thumping music woke up Arrow, knocking her off of the couch.

Arrow then uncovered the blankets to reveal Laurel doing her workout to the thumping music.

"Well, good morning" Laurel said sweetly

"Geez alarm clock much" Arrow replied grumpily rubbing her eyes and her head.

"Guees you're not a morning person," Barley pointed out, seeing her grouchy expression

Arrow then put away the blanket and went upstars to change into her clothes

She was in the bathroom putting on a white baggy shirt. She tried to put on her jeans but they didn't go past her hips.

"Oh this is just wonderful" Arrow grumbled

"Hey you finished in there, I gotta shower" Ian said

"Just a sec" Arrow then pulled down her shirt, grabbed her silver boots and exited the bathroom with Ian entering in.

She luckily stumbled into his room again. She looked both ways and began to look through Ian's closet. She then spots a pair of jeans with a rip on the right knee, which she tried on and they perfectly fit her

"Sweet" She then spots a pair of dark red sneakers but she was only interested in the shoe lace.

"Arrow are you almost done?" Laurel asked "Breakfast is ready"

"Just about" she called out.

Colt and Barley stare as Arrow walked down the stairs. Her baggy white shirt had rainbow stripes on the side and a beach picture on the front. The ripped jeans she borrowed from Ian had fit her loosely so she tied it with the sloelace and rocked her silver boots that she stole. Her hair was flipped to the blonde side while the blue was overshadowed.

"You like…" Arrow asked seeing them stare at her. Nothing was said for a minute then Ian walked in all dressed and looked at Arrow up and down

"Are those my jeans?" He asked the 13-year-old

"Maybe" Arrow said looking away from him

Ian had a flat look on his face

"Oh, cut me some slack, the jeans I stole couldn't fit me"

Arrow heard a few snickers from Colt and she rolled her eyes.

Then she spots his sunglasses and she took them and placed them on her face

"Now I'm ready" She boasted. It was Colt's turn to roll his eyes

Then Laurel took her to school since her work place was close by Arrow's school

"So, How do you feel about going to school for the first time" Laurel asked her

Arrow then thought about it for a minute.

"I'm feeling good" Arrow said quickly

"That's good"

When the girl then arrived at the school, Arrow saw a lot of the kids going in the school and she felt nervous.

"You okay?" Laurel asked

"It's just a lot of people" Arrow said

"Huh, not so brave anymore are you" Laurel joked

"Excuse me If i can steal a blood ruby and live on my own for 5 years then i can handle school" Arrow huffed getting out of the lime green car and slamming the door

"Stop slamming the door" Laurel called out. Arrow mimicked her in a stupid face

Arrow then slumped her way into a building and made her way into the crowded hallway. She saw a few girls sneering at her

"Jealous...take a picture" Arrow said putting on Colt's sunglasses

Then she made her way into a classroom. The students were chatting up the room and the teacher was taking attendance. She made her way in the back of the room. She dropped her navy blue backpack on her side and slouched.

"Hey" a voice said. She turned to her left and a pink cyclops wearing a neon green shirt with a black zipper in the front and a black demin skirt and black low top sneakers. Her black hair is tied in a messy high bun in a light blue scrunchie, throwing off her color cordination.

"Um hey" Arrow responded back.

"Are you new" the girl asked

"Yeah.."

"My name is Pomona, what's yours"

"Arrow" the elf began to feel more ease talking to another girl

"I love your outfit"

"Oh thanks...I like yours"

"Thanks"

"Hey Pomi, take it easy on the new girl" a another female voice said

"Pomi" Arrow asked with a puzzled look on her face

"Yeah, that's what Ali here calls me" Pomona said pointing to the girl in front of her.

Arrow looked at a dark blue elf with a long black tee shirt with fishnets underneath. She had a pink, blue and purple ombre going on in her medium-length hair. The pink in her hair reminded Arrow of Ms. but She liked the girl's styled

"Sick fishnets" Arrow told her

"Thanks, sick hair" Ali responded back pointing out her hair

"Okay, what's with the sick in the speech?" a male faun asked.

Arrow looked at him and he contrasted the two girls that she met. He had curly brown hair that was similar to Ian's hair but his was much shorter and he wore round glasses. Finally he wore a mauve t-shirt with a black brain on it.

"Oh and this is Buzz" Pomona said addressing the faun

"Oh uh-uh, nice to-to meet you Miss-miss-"

"Arrow" the elf said awkwardly

"Arrow, like the actual arrow" Buzz asked

Arrow nodded.

""I like the name...Wanna hang with us at lunch" asked Ali

"I'm down, where do you want to meet?" Arrow asked

"Outside near the fence," Pomona said

"Cool" Arrow said. She nodded and she felt happy that she finally found friends for the first time in five years

She was nervous about school but now she didn't feel so bad about it anymore. She knew that she could handle it, since she handled the worst hardships she had

Meanwhile at a large prison, Specter, Gore and Colt were in the interegation room waiting for the two inmates to come in the room

"Are you sure this is a good idea Bronco?" Specter asked

"Just trust me...If anyone can get through Arrow, it's those two"

"You better be right about this" Gore said.

Then a security guard then brought in the two inmates to the room and sat them down roughly

"Hey, hey, easy on them" Colt told the guard

"You have ten minutes" the guard sneered as he left the room.

"What do you want?" the blue elf asked, fiddling with the orange suit.

"Do you happen to know a girl named Arrow?" Specter calmly asks

The couple looked at each other

"Can-Can you show us a picture?" the pink elf asked

Colt then shows them a current picture of Arrow and the pink elf gasped.

"Matthew, look"

The blue elf then looked at the picture. He was familiar with the girl and huffed

"Arrow ain't that stupid kid's name" Matthew

"You listen to me, she is not stupid"

"Reese" Matthew growled making Reese be quiet.

"What is her name since it isn't Arrow?" Gore asked

"Her name is Avery… it was Reese's idea"

"Avery" Colt whispered to himself

"Yeah, clear your ears and then you'll hear me" Matthew said. The three cops rolled their eyes, now knowing where she gets the sarcasm from.

"Where is she, how is she…"

"Hold on Reese, she's okay, She's just staying with Colt"

"Hm, I knew that dumb girl would crack" Matthew rolled his eye. Reese then slapped the back of his neck

"Shame on you Matthew, She'll surprise you one of these days, All she wanted to do was make you proud of her"

"Actually she has" Colt said interrupting their argument. "She stole a blood ruby from mobsters"

"Humph" Matthew smile as he huffed while Reese had a look of worry

"Is she safe with you Officer...I feel awful leaving her all by herself, but we didn't know anyone close to us that could take care of her

"Have you both ever had the time to think that she might've been frightened out there by herself...might've been crying all of those nights for you…"

This broke Reese's heart but Matthew didn't have much sympathy.

"She isn't my problem nor is she my child" this shocked the officers

"Your only saying that because it wasn't a choice to take of her, after all it was your fault that she was in your arms in the first place, especially having to deal with her transformation" this made Matthew growl to himself

"What kind of transformation?" Gore asked

"Glowing eyes, her eyes go from dark green to red, horns on her head and then wings" Reese described

"You know, something a dragon has…" Matthew added.

Specter took notes of what was told. "When did this whole transformation start?"

"Well… it happen when the girl was six"

"I'm sure she was five at the time" Matthew said

"Oh you never keep track of that child's age...anyway… it was night and she came running to us. She was horrified to the face, her eyes glowed and her horns and wings began to grow, so I quickly covered the windows that exposed the moonlight and she went back to normal just like that… neither of us knew what to do at the time and maybe it was something she was born with, with her real mother...I don't know" Reese explained

"That's when I placed the no going out at night rule" Matthew added

"So what happened to her real mother-" Colt started.

"Times up" the guard came in rudely and took the inmates away.

"Wait a minute," Reese then turned to Colt "Please take very good care of Avery… She may be a tough girl on the outside, but on the inside, she's a broken child in need of help"

"Yeah with something you caused" Gore said.

"I'll try my best to help her" Colt said

Arrow then searched for her new friends at lunch and found the two girls in the hallway.

"Hey, where's that Buzz kid"

"HELP, HELP" a yell was heard and the girls race to find buzz being held upside down by a troll boy

"I said gimme your lunch money"

"I told you Mormon, I don't have none"

"Hey man, how bout you let him go" Arrow said coming over to the bully.

"Oh yeah" Mormon said still holding Buzz "And who are you toothpick" this got a few laughters

"Yeah...you might want to put him down" Arrow said relaxed

"What are you going to do about it, weakling?" He threatened her

"You know what, I think I should explain to you what I should do because you got the wrong impression about me...for example I come here for lunch and hang out with my group and I see you bullying him for his lunch money and if you don't leave him alone then I'll... crack your friggin head open in front of all of these kids and by the time I come out of juvie or jail if I'm correct, maybe you might be out of your coma and guess what punk…" Arrow calmly said

Mormon started to get scared but tried not to show it

"I'll split your head open again, That's what I'll do, now we know what you do poor Mormon...you steal other kids cheap lunch money and get away with it...Oh and I dare you to try me, now put him dow or else you'll be in a coma… do i make myself clear…."

Mormon didn't say anything

"DO I?!" She yelled making the poor bully drop buzz and nod his head wildly

"This is the part where you run" She whispered to the boy's ear and the troll did just that.

Arrow then rushed over to Buzz. "Hey, are you okay?"

"Y-yeah...are you really going to do that?" Buzz asked addressing the threat from earlier

"Hmm… that is if he bullies you again" Arrow replied boosting up the poor faun

"That….was awesome" Ali said to Arrow

"I can't believe you just stood up to Mormon…" Pomona said

"Are we going to hang out or what?" Arrow asked leading them outside

The three kids follow after their new friend and they ate lunch, not knowing that they were being watched by 3 men in black suits and one of them was on the phone.

"Hey boss….We got her" He said.
