Wow its been like almost half a year jeez. Is anyone here still with me? Except you KJAX, I know you're super invested, thank you for the continued support and reviews and insights. Yeap, we all know Hans the villain anyway so its fun to write him that way. But on to Elsa and Anna...
O
Elsa only deemed it safe enough to breathe again when her vision stopped shaking... Focusing only on trying to stop herself from trembling. It was unbecoming of a queen she could almost hear her mother say but she couldn't help it… Elsa felt as though her spine had been snapped clean in half, her body so heavy it was painful to move, she could only barely lift her head.
"Ow…" she groaned softly and as she turned around to apologize to Anna but then Elsa then felt something in her plunge. The first thing she registered was the whole wall of ice. The second ... well ... the new queen felt a terrible noise escape her, as she peered at the alien creature opposite her.
"No… No please no..."
Somewhere in that dark creature a human being still stirred, even if only for the tiniest of moments, and that part of the creature that was still Elsa gazed into the ice, absolutely horrified by what she saw.
Her body was... not her own. Changed, twisted and mutated into something that was ... impossible ... monstrous.
Her once feminine hands were gone, perverted and warped into some kind of four clawed monstrosity she didn't recognize … and when she had touched her forehead … s-she found horns. Real horns, curved obscenely, sprouting proudly as if she were some sort of prized stag ready to be hung on some mantle.
Scraps of her coronation gown still clung to her body, barely held together by the threads, but they didn't hide what her skin had become. Elsa had always been pale ... but now she was a startling white, light blue frost like patterns decorated every inch of her and when she looked down at her feet, she found them replaced by digitigrade limbs ... thicker, and stronger ... clawed and lethal … like a predator. A beast.
And deep inside a part of Elsa… One that she had fought so hard to ignore taunted her maliciously, screaming at her with joy that her outside... finally matched what she truly was inside … and that terrified her. She hadn't transformed ... she'd been revealed.
Meanwhile, Anna was in the process of doing her best to reel in her ... sister? That was still her sister right? Anna had considered taking the opportunity to flee, just to be safe. I mean with the ice and the claws and the fangs … It was instinctual!
But just one look from the creature ... the fear and confusion in those bright blue eyes ... Anna recognized that look. She recognized her sister and a wave of determination overtook her. She had to help her. She had to help Elsa. Reel her back from what she knew was going to be one hell of a breakdown.
"Elsa! Elsa calm down. You - You're ok, this is going to be-" but Anna was cut off by the creature scrambling away with a wail that seemed to shake the ground, and Elsa gasped, utterly horrified when she felt something unfurl from her back, revealing huge wings. They flapped experimentally, as if on their own accord, panicked and terrified, the momentum of the move almost dragging Elsa helplessly along with it into the air.
"A-anna... help me…Please help me." the redhead heard the creature beg weakly and that's when the last shreds of clothing fell and the creature's eyes went wide when she discovered the new appendage growing from her ... a thick, long, and powerful. A tail ... Elsa gagged at the sight, spewing sick on the ground and the creature lifted her head and let out a grief-stricken roar, unable to form words.
**CRASH!** and the wall of ice the former queen had summoned came crumbling down and Elsa suddenly found herself staring directly into the eyes of hundreds of terrified people.
"No…" and she was frozen in fear, her mind absolutely refusing to register what was happening to her.
"Monster… IT'S A MONSTER!" It was finally said, something she had feared being called for so long. Hearing it stirred something painful and visceral deep within the creature and she shrunk back, absolutely terrified. Hunched over as if in pain, curling deep into herself, those claws shaking as they scrambled to wrap themselves over her face, as if trying to physically block out all the people that were pointing, screaming and running from her. To pathetically hide what she had become
It was coming true… Pabbie's vision… All of it… and now they were going to kill her...
"Catch the beast!" and she could hear steel being drawn and Elsa released a low cry but did nothing, still curled into a ball pathetically, ready to submit to her fate. Only to cry out in surprise when she felt two pairs of arms grab her and suddenly she was being half dragged and half pushed out the doors and down the hallway.
"COME ON ELSA!" but barely anything registered, and Elsa steeled herself to just try and keep up with her sister in front of her, the once graceful queen struggling to get her changed feet and new tail to function the way she needed them to.
But her strange appendage seemed to sense her fear, flailing wildly, tripping her while her wings crashed and knocked over virtually everything that lined the narrow hallway.
The pain was still everywhere, all over her body—in her back and feet—even the white of her eyes were not spared and felt like they were on fire. She felt something being thrown over her, a cloak and Elsa clung onto it tightly. Scrambling wildly, her claws tearing away threads as she desperately pulled the hood over her face.
"Just a little further!" she heard Anna say before her little sister suddenly screamed in surprise as what seemed to be two of Weselton's men appeared out of nowhere...suddenly cornering them, blocking their path, swords drawn. Elsa felt her little sister's body collide into hers and in her panic, immediately scrambled backwards, not wanting to freeze Anna, but the ice that inadvertently escaped her ended up doing far more damage than Elsa could have predicted. The combination of her panic and Elsa's general unfamiliarity with her new weight… Well, She could only scream in terror as she slipped and felt the window give out from under her... and worse, Anna!
O
OK… so not in a BILLION years did Anna ever imagine she'd die like this. I mean sure free falling from the upper towers of her castle, HURTLING to her doom ... that had occurred to her with how much she liked climbing around the castle. It was the Elsa part that was the actual surprise ... in a lot of ways. But that flashed through Anna's mind pretty quickly as she fell. In fact, she was falling so quickly Anna swore the very air was cutting into her skin. It wasn't till the last minute that she felt a clawed hand reach out and grab her and she looked up in surprise as the gargoyle ... Elsa a gargoyle ... Elsa held her close, almost like a hug, eyes shining with panic as huge wings seemed to flap sporadically but to no avail…
"ELSA!" and that's when her sister violently turned at the last minute, absorbing the devastating impact of their fall and Anna winced at the audible "CRUNCH" followed by Elsa's shriek of pain as they tumbled violently to a stop, the gravel not once cutting into Anna's skin and it was only then that the redhead notice that her sister was STILL holding onto her, one wing shielding her while the other bent at an unnatural angle, and that's when she got a proper look of Elsa's face.
Anna flinched, quickly turning away, arms up to defend herself. Absolutely terrified... Those bright blue eyes were now a crimson red.. Glowing… Actually glowing… with menace… a low growl just unnerving Anna more… It just..It looked nothing like her sister. It looked like a mosnte-
"NO!" and Anna fought that notion… She saved you… She risked her life for you… Elsa is anything but that. Never that.
Very slowly, Anna lowered her arms and turned to face her sister, carefully inching a hand to the cheek. "Elsa it's ok… you're ok..."
The creature snarled, baring her fangs as she lunged and snapped at the foreign object. Anna quickly took her hand away, afraid again... but through gritted teeth, forced her hand on that ice cold cheek. She heard the growling stop, the creature took several deep, rasping breaths, clenching those clawed hands tightly, almost desperately that snarling face changing into something different and Anna tried her best to read the several unreadable emotions flickering through those glowing eyes. There were too many, too twisted, but soon came one she recognised, the creature was frightened, her terror blacking out the others into indiscernible flashes….
"Elsa it's ok. You're ok." Anna repeated, firmer this time.
"I'm here ." and that's when the gargoyle twisted her head in a sharp, birdlike movement… There was a whimper and the face quickly reassembled into one Anna recognised. Elsa...but Elsa looked absolutely petrified…
O
"This isn't happening. This can't be happening. I'm dreaming. This isn't real" and Elsa wanted nothing more than to just open her eyes and be back in the safety of her bedroom. To be closed off from everyone. To be literally ANYWHERE BUT HERE.
"Wake up Elsa!" she begged herself." "YOU HAVE TO WAKE UP!" but when she finally mustered up the courage to open her eyes… She was horrified to see the reality of Anna pinned underneath her… eyes wide, mouth agape, and her… her arms…
"No." and that's when the cloak had been violently ripped off her. Elsa had roared in anger at the intrusion only to draw back just a second later, claws clasped over her lips, horrified she was even capable of making a sound like that.
"I'm sorry-" she had tried, arms quickly fumbling to cover herself, but it was too late, the assailant… one of her own guards, screamed at the sight of her. He wasn't alone. Everyone in the courtyard, her subjects… It was like time had slowed down as she watched them all back away from her. Children ducking behind their parents, wives their husbands, the sound of a baby's cry, and then...
"IT HAS PRINCESS ANNA! THE MONSTER HAS PRINCESS ANNA!" there was a cry of fury, the sound of steel being unsheathed and the former queen found herself backing away from the receiving end of many wicked looking blades. And if things weren't dire enough, she could feel the ice coming back, the energy crackling and blistering under her former skin.
"Please just stay away from me, STAY AWAY-" it had happened so fast, and Elsa could only watch helplessly as magic, her magic, struck the men down, ice piercing dangerously in all directions. Elsa froze, the acrid smell of blood reaching her nostrils. That was when the screaming had started , the crowds scattering frantically-
"THERE IT IS STOP THE BEAST-" and for a second instinct took over, the arrow shot in her direction, crushed to bits. Elsa could only stare at her claws in disbelief. What had she become…
"Elsa-" and the gargoyle flinched at the contact, teeth bared only to see Anna try and reach out to her.
"Elsa?" Anna's tone was questioning and they stared at each other in silence for a moment. Both afraid of what the other might do, until finally…
"I'm sorry Anna."
It had been whispered so quietly that the red head wasn't even certain if the words had even left Elsa's lips… but she saw that flicker of fear again and-
"Wait Don't!" but her sister had already bolted and all the princess could do was watch a little breathlessly as the white gargoyle evaded another attempt made at her life… Shoving, ducking and weaving through all her attackers- HER OWN GUARDS- before finally managing to scramble up the south wall.
Anna didn't waste a second, picking herself up and willing all eighteen years of her strength to run as fast as she could, past the men, down the stairs, through the side gate… There! By the Shore!
"ELSA PLEASE!" the white figure in the distance drew back, as if in shock. Anna felt a pang of relief, there was no way for Elsa to go, they were thankfully surrounded by the ocean. But just as quick as the relief came, it quickly dissipated and the redhead saw her sister take a breath… before sprinting towards the stormy waters.
"No YOU'LL DROWN!" had been Anna's first thought but instead of sinking into the dark waves, the white figure continued to run, leaving Anna frozen in awe at what was transpiring in front of her. Ice. Ice was blooming from under Elsa's feet, providing her sister a solid surface to run on and soon the white gargoyle was but a speck on the horizon.
Anna hitched up her skirts, ready to traverse the frozen sea herself only to cry out as she was tackled forcefully from the side.
"Anna watch out!"
There was a deafening crash, and Anna could only look fearfully from beneath Hans... ears ringing, at the ship that had almost crushed them… But that wasn't it… The whole fjord… The waves had stopped moving, boats toppling dangerously as they froze in place, fishing nets covered in thick layers of ice.
"It's all frozen…" she had heard Hans say but Anna's mind was elsewhere...On the white figure that had finally reached the other side of the sea.
"Elsa no…" was all she could manage out, before watching her sister disappear into the darkness of the woods.
Ok FINALLY we can get to the fun stuff... Reviews will be greatly appreciated~
