Chapter 1

She had asked Fitz to come over so they could work on Cognate exercises but really, she just needed an excuse to talk about what happened in the Healing Center. So when he finally arrived, her heart did a little flip. She had hailed Biana and explained the situation so Biana walked her through her makeup and hair and she had put on a red dress with some diamond encrusted gloves to sell the look. When Fitz walked in, he seemed VERY surprised by her appearance but when he said "You look beautiful." She remembered that she was the one who told him that he wanted to just be friends. But hopefully, that was all going to change today. She had explained the plan to Edaline who had whipped up some Custard Bursts and Mallowmelt to help that conversation be a little more comforting. She suggested that they go outside to practice under Calla's tree so that they could see if Fitz could have a "conversation" with Silveney. When they were seated under Calla's tree, Fitz turned to study her and she never realized that he had asked her a question until he repeated it for the third time. "Are you okay?" "Yeah" was all that she could get out of her mouth. She finally got the courage to ask "I didn't really invite you here to do Cognate exercises, I invited you here so we could talk about what happened at the Healing Center." He looked at her and his expression was hard to read util he said "Anything specific?" She realized that the look in his impossibly teal eyes was hope. Her heart, yet again, did a little flutter. So she said "I wanted to take back what I said." Confusion bore his face, almost as if he was replaying the conversation and then realization covered his entire face. Then relief. She was too busy trying to register what that meant when . . .

"So, Biana and Tam are moving a little fast. Going on a date, I'm pretty sure I've seen them kissing in the guest room." Fitz said. His eyes were noticeably looking everywhere but her. She realized what was happening. So she said "You know, It is kind of embarrassing that two 15 year olds are going on a date before us." Fitz turned to her and said "You know, I could fix that." Sophie smiled and said "Really, how?" He flashed her a dazzling smile and said "Like this." He grabbed her hands and said "Sophie will you go out with me? Tomorrow at 6:00 maybe?" She pretended to think about her schedule and told him "I think I'm free." She was so excited about the fact that Fitz had finally invited her on a date. He said "Alright, perfect. Meet me at my house tomorrow!" "Ok bye" She slipped inside. Mom I'm going on a date with Fitz. She was so happy it felt like she might fly away. Ddaline rushed from where she was cooking and unfortunately Grady did too. Sophie blushed. Edaline started asking questions like "What are you going to wear?" Sophie said "I don't know. Grady looked mad but his expression softened when she told him how much she loved Fitz. "Why don't you get some rest honey?" All she could think to say was "ok" She flew up the stairs and then asked if she could sleep outside by the Pnakes Tree. "Sure thing honey." Edaline conjured up blankets and pillows.

The next day Mom Said that I needed a new dress so she took her to Atlantis. When we arrived at the dress shop, a girl named Janice led them to a very fancy looking aisle. Janice asked if we were looking for anything specific so we told her not to showy and the color teal for obvious reasons. She brought back a crop cut shirt and a skirt, a long flowy teal dress, and a medium teal dress with roses on it. She led us back to the dressing room and I was anxious to try on everything.

"Wow! This crop cut and skirt is super cute!" Honey that looks beautiful on you ok!" Let me try on the next one." I'll try on the long dress next." "Ok honey." When she walked out of the dressing room Sophie was already tripping. Edaline said"Well, you will look beautiful in anything but I don't think that you should be tripping this much." "Ok well I know I won't be wearing heels." Edaline stands up but not before she tells her that the first one is perfect and so she buys the dress and they lightleap home.

At home, she asks Edaline if she can do her makeup. Edaline says yes but tells her that she should wait until Biana gets here. When Biana finally gets there, she asks "Can you do my makeup please?" "Thanks Biana!"

15 minutes later

"Ok you should be ready!" She yelled back "Ok!" She waved back just before Sophie stepped into the light.

Fitz met her at the gates of Everglen. He held out his hand but Sophie shook her head. Instead she stood up on her tiptoes and pecked him on the cheek. He told her to close her eyes and they leaped to Atlantis. He seemed very excited. When she told her to open her eyes, she was standing in front of la cabine des baisers. She asked what that meant but he turned crimson red.

"Uhhh, it means the, the, the Kissing Booth in french. She then turned the same shade of crimson. But to avoid any other awkwardness, he offered her his hand and she shook her head once again rising on her tiptoes and gave him a peck on the cheek. She didn't know that his face could get any more red but it did. She laughed then took his hand and as he opened the door, Biana and Tam stepped out. Biana was laughing and Tam was super red. Maybe even more red than Fitz. Biana winked at Fitz and Tam sent Fitz a look that said SOS! Fitz told Biana not to drive Tam crazy and with that last smirk they lighteaped away.

They walked into the restaurant and the waiters greeted them with a smile. "You must be the famous Sophie Foster!" "Yes I am." "Table or booth monsieur?" "Booth please." "Well, okay. Right this way please." The waiter led them to the back where a very secluded room was waiting. It was set up with roses in a vase and candles were lit which gave the room a romantic feel. The waiter had left them to get settled so Fitz pulled out a chair for her and she sat down. "Fitz, you really didn't have to do all of this." It was like being treated like royalty. Oh, wait. The Vackers are basically royalty. He turned to her and said "Sophie, I love you and you deserve to be treated like this. If this is too much for you we can order our food to-go and have a picnic under Calla's tree." She didn't really care what they did as long as they did it together. So she told him that. "Fitz, I don't really care what we do as long as I get to do it with you." She hadn't expected it to sound so cheesy but that is how it turned out. When the waitress returned, we ordered our food and she brought it surprisingly fast. She ate the food and it tasted delicious. Almost like fettuccine alfredo. The waitress also brought them some Custard Bursts and Mallowmelt. The same desserts that they had yesterday. "Fitz, did you specially order the exact same desserts from yesterday?" He blushed and whispered something unintelligible. "Fitz, it's okay, I love it." "Really?" "Of course." When they finished eating, they walked outside, He stopped her from pulling out her home crystal. He pulled tight and she thought she was going to hug her but instead he put his lips to hers and it felt like fireworks. All of her dreams come true. When he pulled away, neither of them were red or embarrassed. In fact, she really liked it. He pulled her close and whispered "I love you Sophie." She whispered back "I love you too." So when she pulled out her home crystal, he went with her to say goodnight. She was so happy and tired but of course, as soon as she was in bed, Edaine came in and wanted to know everything! So she opened her mind and replayed the night in Edaline's head. Edaline gasped, awwed, cried, and . . . squealed?! When she left, Biana stormed in and also demanded to know everything. So she did the same things and replayed the evening in her head. Biana also gasped, awwed, cried, and squealed. Though the last part was not as surprising. She then got mad at Fitz for keeping it a secret. Edaline let her stay and conjured up some of Biana's pj's and more pillows. So, they stayed up all night talking about her date with Fitz. They slept in that morning and Sophie dreamt of Fitz and their wonderful she woke up Biana was already dressed. "Hey sleepy head." She said 'It's time to get up. Also Fitz is in the living room down stairs so I'll help can't keep him waiting for too long." Sophie's only response was "Ok" Sophie put on an elegant white dress with gold lining the bottom and beads lacing the hem. Then she put in some gold eyeliner patted on a little bit of blush and she also put on a little bit of white eyeshadow. Then Biana helped her do her hair and then she was finally ready when she got downstairs. Biana went to the kitchen. She hugged fitz then he kissed her and Fitz spun her around. "I had the best time last night." "I love you." "I love you too." They decided they would watch a movie and Sophie fell asleep on Fitz's shoulder…
