Now, after I watched an AMV or two, I've been looking for something like this but couldn't find any, so I thought 'why not make my own?' And, voila! We have this story. A word of caution to this tale, if you haven't watched the movie yet, I recommend you do so before reading this fic

Long ago, in the faraway land of ancient Paris, there was a golden age of powerful gods, who wielded powerful jewels called miraculous that gave them their power...

There were also extraordinary heroes. And the greatest and strongest of all these heroes, was the mighty Adrien, or better known as, Chat Noir.

But what is the measure of a true hero? Ah, that is what our story is...

Oh, who's perspective are you reading this from? We are the muses...goddesses of the arts and proclaimers of heroes.

Heroes like Chat Noir.

Our story actually begins long before Adrien, many eons ago.

Back when the world was new…

The planet Earth was down on its luck

And everywhere evil brutes called Akumas ran with amoks

It was a nasty place, there was a mess wherever you stepped

Where chaos reigned and earthquakes and volcanoes never slept

And then along came Gabriel.

He used the Butterfly Miraculous to control the Akumas, and vowed to never let them out again, and to make sure, he placed a special seal that could only be broken when he was at his greatest power.

And on his own stopped chaos in its tracks

But the guy was too "Type A" to just relax

Gabriel tamed the globe while still in his youth

On Mount Eiffel life was neat and smooth as sweet vermouth

"Adrien! Behave yourself. Oh, look at this. Look how cute he is. Hah! Oh, he's strong, like his dad, hmm?" Gabriel asked his wife Emilie, who was cradling their son Adrien in her arms, and was chuckling at the sight of Gabriel, who was healing his finger because Adrien bit him with his cat-like teeth.

The party went on, for they were celebrating Adrien's birth, and everyone was delighted to see such a wonderful child.

"Dear, keep those away from the baby." Emilie said, shooing away the little white butterflies, who were, apparently, filled with lightning

'Oh, he won't hurt himself." Gabriel replied "Let the kid have a little fun." He continued.

Then he turned to face the crowd and addressed the Miraculous holders;

"On behalf of my son, I want to thank you all for your wonderful gifts!" Gabriel said, a wide smile apparent on his face

"What about our gift, dear?" Emilie asked, placing a hand on Gabriel's arm

"Well, let's see here. We'll take... Hmm, yes. A little cirrus and, uh, hmm, a touch of nimbostratus... and a dash of cumulus. His name is Nino, he's a Pegasus, and he's all yours, son." Gabriel announced, passing the green-maned Pegasus to a cooing Adrien.

"Mind his head." Gabriel reminded, as Adrien hugged Nino to a point too tight, but the Pegasus didn't seem to mind.

"He's so tiny." Emilie softly said, stroking her son's golden hair.

"My boy, my little Adrien…" Gabriel said. He was pretty sure that his son would grow to greatness…

"Father! Look! I can finally do it!" Adrien said, proudly showing his father that he could do a hand-stand with just one hand.

Adrien was now 16 years old, very energetic and enjoyed so-called 'noble' activities like fencing, piano, Chinese language lessons, and whatever activity his father throwed at him.

But Gabriel had changed over the course of 15 years. He was no longer the kind, benevolent Miraculous Guardian. He was stern, cold, perfectionist, and he almost never laughed except for occasional sneers.

Yes, he had changed greatly ever since his wife Emilie died. All because she wanted to help people.

The beautiful Guardian had saved an estimated 500,000 common people from falling to their doom.

But such heroics took a toll on Emilie, for she made an amok so magnificent that her Miraculous cracked because of it.

The great Peacock wielder died a few weeks later, and the whole kingdom grieved for the loss of one of their Guardians.

Young Adrien, who was just 7 years old, stayed strong through the entire tragedy. And soon accepted the fact that he no longer had a mother.

But, as mentioned, Gabriel didn't take it well, and became a horrible Guardian.

"Again!" Gabriel ordered Adrien, who was extremely tired from doing the same fighting practice for five hours.

"Your form is too stiff, your leaps are not high enough, and your punch barely breaks the twentieth layer of the brick wall!" Gabriel said, stern and commanding.

"Father, can I take a short break? I've been leaping, punching, and swinging my baton for five hours…" Adrien said timidly

Gabriel sighed, and for a moment, he seemed to go back to his better self.

Then he spoke

"Right, you shall rest. But only for 10 minutes, after that you will travel down to Earth to meet Plaggoctetes. I have decided that you need the next level of training because, clearly, you have not been meeting my expectations."

And, despite the utter disappointment, or rather resentment, his father imposed, Adrien grinned and ran to the building where Nino was being kept

"Can you believe it Nino? Father will let me travel to Earth! Now I'm sure I can make him proud" Adrien said, excitedly fastening the saddle on Nino's back and packing his belongings. Not much for a child of the great Guardian; his clothes, his magical baton, and… that was pretty much it, despite his room being so extravagant that a Pegasus could stay inside it and walk around freely...

10 minutes had passed, and Adrien waited at the bridge for his father, fiddling with the ring his mother gave him before she died.

Sure enough, Gabriel appeared, and Adrien (and Nino) bowed in his presence.

Gabriel put a hand on Adrien's shoulder, and the boy stood up straight as his father talked to him.

"Go immediately to Plaggoctetes, do not take any segues and make sure you don't disappoint me." Gabriel ordered, and Adrien took off, flying to where Plaggoctetes resided.

Haha! That's a start. So, how about that little twist to my most favorite Disney movie?
