Hi fitz fitz said hi Then, he picked her up and spinned her around and said "I think we should do it tonight. We need some alone time. Sophie had to agree. So she said ok and then started trying to wiggle out of his grip but he said "No, what's the magic word?" She said how about a kiss. He nodded his head so she gave him a quick peck on the lips. "There!" Then Sophie said "Okay, meet me at Callas tree in an hour, Fitz said "Ok Soph, see you then."
1 hour later . . .
"Mom, I'm gonna eat with Fitz out under Calla's panake tree! Can you please pack a picnic?" Edaline replied with a smile and conjured a picnic basket. "Here no peeking at what I made you!" She replied with a smirk and said "Ok, no promises." She laughed and then said "Alright, there you go Sophie." She said "Perfect, can you put some blankets out there for us? Please mom!? "Sure, I hope you have a good time Sophie! Oh, and I love you!" Sophie hugged her mom and then said "I love you to mom!"
"Alright I'm gonna head outside. Fitz was waiting outside for her. He flashed another dazzling smile that made me want to melt. But she refrained. "Hey, I brought out a picnic for us." Fitz said "Ok, sounds perfect Soph!" She decided to ask "What should we do?" "Well, I think we should stargaze. But honestly, nothing can take my breath away as much as you can." Sophie hugged him and said I think that's a brilliant idea. I would love to." Fitz said "Ok here, I'll put out the blanket." "Thank you" Sophie hugged Fitz. This was such a great night. 'Let's eat" "Ok sounds great. I am famished. Oops Fitz I must've forgot the picnic basket can you please run in and grab it?" "Of course." Fitz ran in to grab the picnic basket. "Hello Mrs. Ruewen, me and Sophie are enjoying the beautiful clear sky tonight. I'm just running in to grab the picnic basket. Where is it?" "Oooh Fitz, it's on the counter by the door." "Thank you Mrs. Ruewen!" Fitz ran out to Sophie. "Alright, I grabbed the foo- . . ." But when he ran out he found her fast asleep. So he lightly shook her and said "Soph, I got the food." "Thanks, let's eat really qui- He had pulled in to kiss her. He wrapped his arms around her and she really liked the embrace. When he pulled away, he looked guilty. He said "Sorry, I couldn't just sit there and watch you be all beautiful without getting some recognition for it. He blushed so she added "Well, thank you, but I am not beautiful." "Yes you are Sophie, you have to embrace that. You are the prettiest girl that I have ever seen. "He's right" Me and Fitz turned around to spot Keefe with a smirk on his face. But, he was also wearing an expression of . . . is that jealousy? "Keefe, go away. This is my date with Fitz. He frowned and said "Well, We can have a Team Foster-Keefe-Fitz? Nah that doesn't- Fitz shot him a glare that said This is my girlfriend and my date so if you are gonna ruin it you will at least include me. Keefe heaved a sigh and said "Fiiiiine! As I was saying, We could have a Team Foster-Keefe-Fitz snuggle fest. . . . No? Fine suit yourself. He smirked, grabbed a handful of mud and through it at Sophie. It hit her square in the chest and she knew right then that she would have to go shower. Keefe was still laughing, Fitz was fuming, and Sophie was mad at Keefe for ruining her date with Fitz …..so she picked up a big ball of mud behind her with her telkinis and then hit Keefe with it. He took a big step back then before she could get hit again she went to go take a shower.
15 minutes later
"Ok I'm all done!" They laid down a new blanket that was not so muddy and layed down on it Sophie positioned herself so Fitz was on his back laying flat and hugging Sophie's torso while Sophie had her head on his torso then Fitz said "Look there's the big dipper. Ohh and there's the Little Dipper! To distract her, then Fitz got up and bent down on one knee. "Sophie, look behind you!" Sophie gasped and Fitz said "Sophie Elizabeth Foster, will you marry me?" Sophie shouted "Yes yes yes!" Fitz pulled her up and spinned her around and then he kissed her passionately. This time, it felt like it was meant to be. Then they laid back down in their previous position and stargazed. For real this time
1 hour later
Soph, Soph? Are you awake?" Sophie's only answer was a groan and her shifting closer and cuddling up to him. Fitz looked down at Sophie. And even though he knew she couldn't hear him he said "You're so pretty when you're asleep." And with that he too fell into a dream. Edaline came out to check on them later that night and found them both asleep together then she noticed the light teal ring glinting on Sophie's finger and ran to get Grady. The next morning Sophie was woken up by Fitz. She felt like she was floating on a cloud. She asked Fitz if last night really happened. Fitz nodded then gave her a peck on the cheek. Then they walked into the house and Fitz said "I better go tell my family. See you later." He kissed her, softer, but still with the same affection. He pulled out his home crystal and light leapt away. That night, Biana hailed and asked to come over. When she got there she asked for all the details. Sophie recapped it all and Biana was so excited. So was she. She remembered that tomorrow was the day that she selected to go clean out her lockers and to bid farewell to all of her mentors. So, she went to bed somewhat early but stayed awake for a reason she didn't know. Then, she felt the crisp accent of her boyfri- Fiance, she had to learn to correct herself. Then she remembered that Fitz could hear all of her thoughts. Secretly, she thought he would be hurt, but instead, she could hear him laugh and he told her that he was struggling with the same thing too. They did their nightly routine except, this time, he would quiver at any negative thoughts. She realized that she did the same. It must have been because of the engagement, their Cognate connection had grown one but stronger. She was ecstatic. Tonight, she fell asleep much easier because of this. Goodnight Fitz she thought and she heard him say Goodnight Sophie Elizabeth he paused. What? She thought. He sighed. Well, now I don't know if I should say Foster or Vacker. He was right. Chapter 3
She was at Foxfire, at her locker. She sighed. She remembered all of the happy memories that this place has. "Uh, hello. Earth to Sophie Foster." "Wha- what?" Biana looked at her expectantly. "Well, you didn't answer my question. When will the wedding be?" "Uh, I don't know, we got engaged last night." "Yeah bu-" "Biana, don't. I already get enough weird questions. I don't need people knocking on my door wanting to know when the wedding will be." " But as a soon to be Vacker, you need to be able to deal with the fame. It's a lot to cope with." She rolled her eyes when suddenly "Aaaah!" She turned around to see very vibrant teal eyes staring back at her. "Fitz, put me down!" People in the hallway finally started to connect the dots: engagement, soon to be Vacker, Fitz . . . He laughed then set her down. Then, of course, he spinned her planted a kiss on her cheek then, only then, did he stop. Biana giggled and Sophie noticed the girls evil looks were directed at her. She cleared her throat and he seemed to get the message. He turned around to look at the girls with glares but they realized that scrunched up faces were being displayed until he laughed and said "Don't worry. If anything happens, I will personally see to their disappointment. I know it can be hard to get used to the Vacker fame if you want to call it that. I just want you to know that you should feel comfortable and if you need anything, your fiance is here. I love you." "Are you two done with your Fitzphie, or is it Sophitz? What do you two think?" Fitz laughed and Sophie said "Really Biana, this is crazy. Alright" Sophie said "I have to go meet with all my mentors. She hugged Fitz and Biana and Fitz agreed that they still had to do that too. Then Biana offered to meet at Everglen and Sophie said "Sure!" then they all parted ways. Sophie dropped by Sir Tiergan, Bronte, Alina , and all her other mentors then she found Fitz and they leaped together to Everglen. Della and Alden were so excited when they saw Sophie and Fitz. Della wanted to know if she could be the wedding planner and Biana wanted to be it too so Sophie and Fitz said they could do it together. Alden congratulated them and said he couldn't wait. He also said that it was good that they were both number one on each other's match list. Sophie definitely had to agree that it was definitely a good thing. Then, Fitz went off to tell Keefe and Sophie wanted to tell her parents so they went their separate ways and decided they would meet back up later to plan the wedding. Sophie hugged Fitz and Fitz said he'd miss her. Sophie agreed that she'd also miss him and then they both leaped away and Della and Biana immediately started planning the wedding. When Sophie got home, Grady and Edaline pretended not to know anything and Sophie caved and gave them all the details. And she was so excited that Edaline immediately leaped to Everglen with Grady right behind her. So, Sophie leaped right over to the Shores of Solace to find Fitz and Keefe sitting on the swings outside talking. She rushed up and sat right next to Fitz and Keefe looded hurt, disappointed? But she was too giddy with joy to notice, or care. Then she greeted Keefe and then she asked if Fitz had told him about the news.
FITZ POV
"Keefe, I have something to tell you. Me and Sophie are engaged!" Keefe congratulated him and then Fitz noticed he looked, jealous? Of what? Was it, him and Sophie? No way. I think. He asked him if he would be one of his groomsmen and Keefe immediately agreed. Though he didn't look happy about it. I made a mental reminder to ask him once Sophie left. Sophie looked ready to jump out of her seat, which was very unlike her. So I was not surprised when she said "Keefe, we have to go because I have some news to give Fitz." So they stood up and light leaped to Everglen. Biana looked at him with a raised eyebrow. Della and Edaline gave him the same look. He just shrugged his shoulders because he was clueless. Grady and Alden gave him a thumbs up. Sophie pulled his hand and she tugged him to the lake with the moonlarks. She sat him down on a bench and sat down next to him. He had no idea what to expect. "So . . . ." he began. She put a finger to his lips and said "First, let me explain. I know I am being very mysterious but . . . I found a way to attend the Elite Levels, without being locked away in a tower like Rapunzel!" Fitz looked excited and then confused "Who is Rapunzel. No, hold on. Let me guess. She is a human princess who is locked away in a tower but everyone keeps telling her that she has to stay." Sophie gwacked at him. So he said "I'm guessing that is right?" She nodded and said "Ok, back to my news. Basically, I can create a schedule to train my abilities. That way, we can stay connected." Fitz gleamed with excitement. More than she was expecting. She asked "I mean, I am excited but, why do you look like you have seen the prettiest thing ever. He said "Because 1, If you make it to the Elite Levels, you don't pass that up. So this is amazing. And 2, I have seen the prettiest thing, you." She blushed then realized that they had been gone for more than an hour and people were probably starting to wonder where they are. She hadn't realized that she had said that out loud but Fitz agreed and headed back to the main house. When they walked in, Della, Edaline and Biana were mid-laugh but they stopped as soon as they saw me and Fitz. Alden and Grady and . . . Tam? What was Tam doing here. Whatever. She nodded to Grady and Edaline who already knew the story and they told it to everyone else. All her friends questioned what she meant by schedule. Sophie hugged Fitz and sat down next to him. Well, she started to answer the schedule question, I talked to the Council and they said that if I basically came in for lessons with each of my mentors, once a week, I would be good in about one year.
After Elite Levels . . .
Fitz, we have been engaged for over 2 years. Do you think we should finally set a date for the wedding. How about in October. October . . . 26? Please. She begged. Fitz asked What is so special about the 26? She replied with Amy's birthday. Sure, he replied. With that, Sophie hugged Fitz. Then, Fitz picked her up and spun her around and then he wouldn't let her down so she said I'll yell it out to everyone if you don't want them to know the details yet. Then it's in your best interest to let me down. Please! He sighed in defeat. Fine. Fitz agreed. After all, he couldn't resist that face he gave her. With a quick peck and then they decided they'd go tell the Council first and then the adults and of course, all they're friends but first . . . Matchmaking Scrolls. They went inside and Fitz could see the love, fear, and doubt all in Sophie's eyes. Edaline handed out the Matchmaking Scrolls and they counted down 3,2,1,
