Chapter 4

Summer 9th

Finally the 9th of the summer season had now come which means that today was Leon's birthday. Frey has heard many of her friends wish him a happy birthday but she was planning a party for him. She was up late the precious night of trying to think of where they could have it and the only best option was Porcoline's Kitchen. She made sure to tell everyone beforehand about this and thankfully all of them were great actors Leon didn't think anything was suspicious at all. Even though he wasn't good at forging Frey had ask Doug to make some glasses for her. This would be her present to Leon and she made the glasses have their initials. That why she was here at the general store at such an early hour just to pick up these glasses. She knew that Doug was still asleep upstairs but she place the money down and thank him with a small note. Not only was she exhausted parts of her mind didn't work right so some say she would seem a little crazy right now.

After getting to her room she placed the glasses in a box and wrote Leon on a card. She smiled at the present hoping that he would like them. The next thing was to make his all time favorite dish. Frey has ask Porcoline to make nothing but grilled sea food while she would make his ultimate favorite dish. Thankfully because of Kiel Frey knew what she had to make however the problem was that the fish or squid was not in season right now. They only appear during the winter which suck because it was summer right now. She wanted to bang her head up against a wall, she would never find a lamp squid now and their fish market didn't have it stock. Frey sighed heavily as she looked at her clock, "Dylas should be getting up soon maybe he knows a good fishing area I can go too and I need to make sure I have a sour drop." She walked out into her field and grabbed an orange from the orange tree she grew awhile back. She then mix it with her chemistry set and now had a sour drop. After placing it in her bag Frey walked out from her field toward Porcoline's kitchen again. Just as she was about to enter the girl ran into Dylas.

"Frey what are you doing here I know the party is going to be here but Porcoline is not up yet." "I was actually looking for you because I ran into a problem. You see I'm trying to make Leon's ultimate favorite dish however because one of the ingredients is lamp squid. I just learn that they only come around in winter and right now it's summer. What do I do?" Dylas watch her for a bit, she was panicking he could tell that she was. He too had some feelings for Frey but with this little display he could tell just how serious she was about Leon and which was why he was willing to be her friend and help in any way he can. Dylas place his hand on her shoulder and smiled softly. "Calm down Frey I actually knew where you can get some but your going to need to take the airship there because it's a long ways to walk. You know how you went to Autumn road awhile back to get one of the rune sphere well its just so happens if you go a certain direction you will see that the trees are dead and the ground turning into white. That my good friend is beyond Autumn Road. I don't what it's called but everything in that area is winter including the lake over there."

He saw how her eyes lit up, "Thank you Dylas and you don't have to direct me I know where you are speaking off so until I return please make sure everything is ready and even if I'm not back at the 15 hour it will be someone job to bring everyone to the kitchen then someone will go get Leon. I doubt I'll have trouble catching it but I leave everything up to you." Then he watch her go toward the airship, highly impressed that Frey could pilot that thing. It would take him years to learn something like that.

-time passes-

It was now the 15 hour and throughout the day Leon has gotten many birthday wishes but he has not seen or heard from his girlfriend at all today. Leon was a bit excited to get a birthday wish from her, and he knew that Frey could only have this kind of effect on him. He knew his tail stopped swaying and his ears were down. If anyone saw him then they would be easily to tell that he was sad. Leon walked out of the inn he was going to give his girlfriend a piece of his mind for forgetting. The only problem was he had no idea where she was and that really bugged him. "Leon!" He turned his head around and saw Kiel but before he could say anything Kiel started to push him toward the restaurant. "Hey what are you doing? Kiel this isn't funny." Maybe Leon was finally getting pay back for all the teasing he has down to Forte, "Look if this is about teasing your sister and you finally getting back at me then I apologize." All he heard was the boy laughing, "No it's not because of that I kinda like you teasing her Leon but please don't tell her I said that." He could feel a smirked, "I make no promises."

After being pushed into the door, and how Kiel pushed him all the way here with his small hands and small strength Leon will never know. Once inside all he heard was surprise and many happy birthdays from all the townsfolk, a surprise birthday party for him. He could smell the scent of grilled seafood and smiled and turned toward the boy who pushed him all the way here. "You didn't have to throw a party for me. Sure I haven't had one in who knows how long but just getting wishes from everyone was more than enough." "I didn't throw this party for you I was invited to celebrate it" then Leon blinked if it wasn't Kiel then who would throw him a party until a voice called from the door. "It was me. I wanted to throw you party just like I promise on our first date." Just like she promised, Leon then smiled. He turned around and saw her in usual outfit and walked up to her. Everyone quieted in the room and Frey began to get nervous, his eyes looked serious and from his expression upset. Then she felt arms around her and she could hear his laughing. He bent down and whispered in her ear. When he spoke Frey could feel the warmth of his breath against her ear and it made her shiver in a good way. "Thank you love I have no words to express how thankful I am that I have you. You just gave me a wonderful birthday and still a little upset you avoiding me but you can make it up to me later this evening just the two of us."

After he parted from her the party began and everyone laughed and had a good time. As minutes went by everyone went home including Frey and Leon but Frey was the one who walked him home this time. "Your a really strange person I should be the one walking you home." Frey just giggled, "I wanted to change it up a bit." Once they reach his room, Frey walked in the small space and smiled. She loved coming over here and talking with him it was a nice change of pace but then she blushed, "Well I think I owe for today. I'm sorry I avoiding you but I wanted to make everything perfect as possible and I wanted to get some presents." Leon closed his door and looked at her, "You didn't have to get me anything honestly just having you here and you being my girlfriend. That's my present." Frey just laughed but opened her bag anyway and brought a box then a plate of his favorite dish. "You can open you gift later but I also made your favorite dish from scratch. I hope you like it because it took my awhile to fish for the dumb thing."

Leon noticed the it was grilled lamp squid, how in the world did she find out that was his favorite dish of all time. Not only that but he was impressed that she even cook this on her own. He knew that she could cook but this dish was really hard to make and yet here it was and Leon could tell it was cook perfectly. This girl was seriously amazing and each day was something exciting, whenever he started dating Frey his life hasn't been boring and it exited him just how far she was willing to take this despite knowing she can't marry him. He smiled at her then grabbed her hands, "Thank you however your trying to avoid your punishment for avoiding me. Sorry love but you did walk into this one." Leon then removed his hands from her and put one hand underneath her chin, he lifting it up some then slowly leaned down and kiss her lips. After a few seconds he could feel her returning the kiss and every part him wanted to keep going but right now this first kiss was enough for now. Leon parted from her, "Now off to bed with you. It seems you had a terrible long day preparing and a princess does need her beauty sleep." Frey blushed some but listening to his words. "Okay well then night darling and I love you" she gave him one last kiss before leaving his room.

He blushed a bit after she left, so Frey was able to say those three words to him. It made Leon's heart sore again but he sighed, as much as he wanted to Leon would never be able to say them back. No he knew one day that Leon would finally be able to express his true feelings but right now all he could do was give kisses, hugs, and other things but never say those three words until the time was right. Before he went to bed Leon opened the present Frey gave him. He saw that they were drinking glasses and it made him chuckle some but there was also a card inside as well. 'To my loving darling I hope you had a wonderful birthday today I know that you can't tell me that you love me but you don't have to because I know deep down you do. Love can be express in many ways and right now for you it's your teasing, the hugs, everything but not the words. I know one day I'll be able to hear you say them but until then don't change who you are darling for I love you very much. Hope you like the present. -from your love aka Frey'

The card made him smile and knew that this relationship wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Leon knew that their bond will grow deeper each day and as he displayed the glasses in his rooms. He saw that they had then initials of L and F. He smirked some, "Your really truly an interesting women love and I your right one day I'll express my love for you and you someone figure out that I do love you. Yes your a very interesting women indeed" then Leon went to sleep praying that fate was definitely on his side.
