It has been 3 months since his son left to train with Plaggoctetes
3 months since the palace sounded so silent
And 3 moths of having the same dream again and again.
No, scratch that. The same NIGHTMARE again and again
…
There was a butterfly, pure white and spotless, not unlike his own butterflies
It was fluttering around, perching from one place to another
Then suddenly, in mid-air, it stops, and black magic surrounds it
A memory of his wife was shown, the day that she died protecting people
But something was different.
This time, the black butterfly was there, along with many more of its kind
The black butterflies landed on an item of each of the people Emilie saved, and in a flash of light, Gabriel saw his wife full of life and laughing.
Gabriel wanted to run and hug her, but the dream ended, and he was stuck sitting upright in his bed while trying to catch his breath.
When he could finally breathe properly, Gabriel stood up from his bed, and immediately transformed and made a call through his Miraculous
"Nathalie? Cancel everything I have scheduled for today. Do you understand? EVERYTHING. I have urgent business to attend to." And with that, Gabriel shut off his Miraculous and headed to the library

Gabriel was calm, despite the recurring nightmares he had
He knew exactly where to find the book he was looking for.
The Grimoire that held all the secrets to the Miraculouses.
Because, despite being the most powerful Miraculous holder, he didn't have the other most powerful Miraculous.
Gabriel leafed through the book, there was the Bee Miraculous, the Turtle Miraculous, and the Fox Miraculous; but those were not what he needed
Besides, those Miraculouses were already in use
No, what he really needed were the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculouses, the most powerful Miraculouses there ever was.
The Ladybug was in his custody, guarded by a red-haired she-satyr named Tikki; but it was never used because that certain Miraculous had a mind of its own. But the Black Cat Miraculous had never been found since Gabriel trapped the akumas in Tartarus-
'Wait. Akumas…' Gabriel thought
Gabriel knew that his akumas were the answer, but the majority of them were in Tartarus, so he had to make his own evil butterflies to get the Black Cat Miraculous and free the other akumas, he had the Ladybug earrings anyway
Then he could bring his wife back! He could bring Emilie away from that horrible decision of saving people, and they could be a family again.
And Adrien…
Gabriel had VERY high expectations for his son (add double emphasis on very) and decided to not bother Adrien on his training
The boy would only get in his way anyway
But for now, he had a plan to make…

It had been two days since they left Plagg's island, and now they were in Paris
Adrien was about to comment on how beautiful Paris looked like when they heard a piercing scream
"Sounds like your basic D.I.D..." Plagg stated
"Huh?" Adrien asked
"Damsel in distress!" Plagg explained. 'boy was this kid oblivious' Plagg thought
And they went to where they heard that certain scream…
Adrien & Co. landed in a swamp-like place, and they instantly saw a giant centaur
And in his hand was a woman, with hair as blue as the midnight sky, beautiful bluebell eyes, and wearing a light pink Greek dress
And apparently, she was struggling to get away from said giant centaur
"Not so fast, sweetheart." The centaur said, it nearly made Adrien throw up right there and then
A centaur should NOT be talking to a lady like that, especially a lady as attractive as this one, she deserved to be treated like a princess…
'Wait, what am I thinking?' Adrien asked himself
"I swear, Nessus. Put me down or I'll..." the damsel said, and when she spoke, and Adrien almost rushed in to save her; her voice was the most beautiful thing he'd ever heard.
But Plagg gave a sharp tug on Adrien's wrist, reminding the boy that he shouldn't be reckless in time like these
But Adrien had the last straw when Nessus said "Whoo! I like 'em fiery!"
The half-horse was obviously referring to the lady he was holding captive, and Adrien marched forward
Plagg noticed, and reminded Adrien; "Now remember, kid. First, transform and analyze the situation. Don't just barrel in there without thinking, eh? You don't know what you're..."
"Claws Out" Adrien said, and he ran to the centaur, who was still clutching the woman
Plagg could only roll his eyes
"Stop in the name of the Chat!" Adrien commanded, extending his arm out to do the usual 'stop' gesture
"Step aside, scaredy-cat." The centaur commanded sarcastically, referring to Adrien- *clears throat* Chat Noir's attire
Gabriel- sorry. Hawkmoth's eyes widened, what a coincidence! He found just what he was looking for…
A glowing, violet mask in the shape of a moth materialized in front of Nessus' face, and Hawkmoth spoke to him
"Get his Miraculous" Hawkmoth ordered
"Give me your Miraculous!" Nessus roared
"What if I don't, long-face?" Chat Noir challenged, smirking at his joke
"I'll have to ask you to release that young..." Chat Noir continued, but was cut off by the woman in the centaur's hands
"Keep movin', kitty." The woman said
"I was gonna say lady," Chat Noir started
"But now I see that she's a beautiful purrincess…" Chat Noir continued, a grin spreading on his face as his face went closer to the woman's face until their noses almost touched
The lady was baffled with Chat Noir's flirtatious advances and couldn't speak for a few seconds
But she regained her composure, pushed Chat away from her with a finger, and retorted "I'm sorry, kitty cat, but I don't need a knight in shining leather to save me."
"But you... Are-Aren't you a damsel in distress?" Chat Noir asked the woman, clearly confused
"I'm a damsel. I'm in distress. I can handle this. Have a nice day." The woman said, showing of a fake smile
"Uh..." for once, Chat Noir was at loss for words
"Ma'am, I'm afraid you may be too close to the situation to realize..." Chat started, being serious for once
But Nessus clearly had enough of the bantering and punched Chat Noir,
shouting "Give me your Miraculous!"
The strength of the punch sent the hero flying face first into the water
"Why do you keep demanding for my Miraculous? It's mine, and I won't give it to you!" Chat Noir stated, woozily standing up but quickly slipping in the water
"Ohhh! What are you doin'? Get your baton!" Plagg shouted, pulling his whiskers in frustration
"Baton. Right, right. Rule number 15: a hero is only as good as his weapon!" Chat Noir muttered, as he searched for the baton that was always on his back, but apparently, it fell down in the river
Chat smiled in triumph as he felt something in the river that was the shape of his baton, and immediately held it and swung it at the centaur
Chat Noir was grinning, but he didn't notice that his 'baton' was actually an old boot that got washed into the river
Nessus grinned, and punched Chat again so hard that he landed on top of a tree
Nino was furious that his owner/best friend was being treated in such a way, and he started marching towards Nessus, who was demanding Chat Noir's Miraculous, again
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold it! Hold on! He's gotta do it on his own." Plagg intervened, blocking Nino's way
Chat Noir came to his senses again, and wouldn't have heard the voice of his trainer if his hearing ability wasn't heightened
"Come on, kid! Concentrate! Use those cat claws of yours! On the offense!" Plagg ordered, devouring a slice of camembert in haste
"Cat claws…" Chat Noir muttered
Then he remembered that every Miraculous had a special power
He didn't know what his was, so he just said the first cat-themed power that popped into his mind
"Cataclysm!" Chat Noir shouted, raising his right arm as black bubbles began to form around it
Chat looked in awe at his power, but Nessus immediately charged at the hero, and Chat could do nothing but close his eyes and shield his face from the impact that would surely…
'Wait, nothing hurts' Chat Noir thought to himself
Then he slowly, tentatively, opened his eyes; just to see that his hand was touching a necklace that the centaur was wearing
The necklace immediately disintegrated, and a black butterfly fluttered out
Chat immediately recognized it as an akuma from the history books, and tried using his power again
"Uh… Cataclysm?" Chat Noir said
He was delighted when black bubbles began to form at his hand again, and he snatched the black butterfly, immediately disintegrating the akuma
Plagg could only look on in shock
"Oh. All right! Not bad, kid! Not exactly what I had in mind, but not bad." Plagg said, calmly eating yet another slice of camembert despite a voice in his head screaming about an akuma on the loose
Chat made his way to the lady, who had fallen down in the lake, scooped her up bridal style, and set her down on a rock
"Oh, gee, miss. I'm really sorry." Chat started, taking her hand and gently kissing it
"Oh." The lady said, a blush apparent on her cheeks
Chat Noir immediately withdrew with a "That was dumb, sorry", scratching the back of his neck
"Excuse me." Plagg said sarcastically, practically shoving the lady aside
"Nice work! 'Excelente'!" Plagg congratulated, and Chat said thanks and excused himself, he had a centaur to talk to
And Chat Noir confronted Nessus, who was still hot-headed, even without the akuma
"Is Sunshine boy here for real?" the lady asked Plagg, as she dried her hair
"What are you talkin' about? Of course he's real, Pigtails." Plagg replied huffing and continuing to watch Chat fight Nessus
Chat was riding Nessus like a horse now, with said centaur trying to get the hero of his back like a bucking bronco
"Yee-hah! Ya-hoo!" Chat exclaimed, as he continued strangling the centaur
Nessus charged at a rocky wall, attempting to get Chat Noir off his back once and for all
But Chat was smart, and Chat was quick, and the hero steered Nessus up and away by the use of a branch, effectively slamming the centaur face down into the muddy floor of the swamp
Then Chat hopped off, nimbly as you please, and walked over to where Plagg, Nino, and the lady were watching the scuffle
"Whoa!" was all Plagg could say when he saw Nino walked over to the unconscious Nessus and stomped the centaur's face deeper into the mud
"How was that, Plagg?" Chat asked his trainer, giddy after having his first win
Plagg couldn't tell him about the akuma, and the mind-control, and such; so he casually replied in a chastising manner:
"Reign it in, rookie. You can get away with mistakes like those in the minor decathlons, but this is the big leagues!"
"At least I beat him, didn't I?" Chat asked, alarmed that Plagg wasn't proud, and a bit sad that he didn't live up to expectations again
Plagg noticed, but continued his lecture
"Next time, don't let your guard down because of a pair of big goo-goo eyes!
D-oh! It's like I keep tellin' ya. You gotta stay focused, and you..." Plagg didn't get to finish his talking because Chat walked over to the lady he had just saved
"Are you, uh, all right, princess? I mean miss..." Chat inquired, hastily correcting himself from calling her 'princess'
"Marinette. My friends call me Mari. At least they would if I had any friends." The lady answered sadly, still drying her hair
"So, did they give you a name along with all those cat-like features?" Marinette asked, effectively veering Chat Noir from asking about why she didn't have any friends
"Uh, uh, uh, I'm, um, uh..." Chat stammered, looking at Plagg for support
Plagg just rolled his eyes, not a big help
"Are you always this articulate?" Marinette teased
"Chat Noir. My name is Chat Noir… M'lady." Chat finally replied, adding a little bit of pizzaz at the end to redeem himself
"Chat… Chaton… Kitty… Huh. I think I prefer Sunshine boy." Marinette replied, tapping her chin
"So, how'd you get mixed up with the, uh..." Chat asked
'Smooth, real smooth Agreste' Chat thought, though he was handling the situation very well for someone who didn't usually converse with girls, the hero didn't know
The only girls he'd ever talked to were Emilie, his mother; Nathalie, his father's assistant; and Kagami, his childhood friend, but she moved to Mount Fuji many years ago, so it was only Nathalie he could talk to all these years
Maybe Plagg's confidence was rubbing off him
"Pinhead with hooves? Well, you know how men are. They think 'No' means 'Yes' and 'Get lost' means 'Take me. I'm yours.'… No offense" Marinette replied
She mentally slapped her forehead after speaking bad about men to, well, a 'man'. Especially one as attractive as this… wait, what?
"Well, thanks for everything, Chat. It's been a real slice." Marinette said, hopping of the rock and starting to walk away
"Wait! Um, can we give you a ride?" Chat Noir offered
"Uh, I don't think your flying horse likes me very much." Marinette shyly said, looking at the said flying horse
What she said was true indeed, Nino was fuming. Mostly because Chat looked captivated by a woman he just met
"Nino? Oh, no. Don't be silly. He'd be more than happy to... Ow!" Chat exclaimed in pain
Oh no, Chat got hurt! What happened? Oh, nothing; his chocolate-colored Pegasus just whacked his head with a powerful wing, thank you very much
"I'll be all right. I'm a big tough girl. I tie my own sandals and everything. Bye-bye, Chaton. It was nice meeting you" Marinette said with a cute smile and walked away, leaving a frustrated Plagg, an infuriated Nino, and a lovesick Chat Noir
"Bye…" Chat Noir whispered
"She's somethin', isn't she, Plagg?" Chat asked his trainer
"Yeah, ye... Oh, yeah. She's really somethin'. A real pain in the tail! Earth to Adrien! Come in, Ade! Come in, Ade! Or is it Chat now? Oh,Chaton! We got a job to do, remember? Paris is still waitin'." Plagg reminded, annoyed at how easily Chat got distracted. He left out the part about akumas though, he thought it was just a one-time thing; a loose akuma that Adrien's papasicle accidentally forgot to capture.
He really needed more camembert with this kid
"Yeah. Yeah. I know." Chat replied, getting on Nino and helping Plagg up
And they flew off, rerouting to Paris
*clears throat* So, as we have this chapter up; I would like to make a few clarifications...
1) There are no Kwamis needed to power-up the Miraculouses, rather, the Tikki and Plagg mentioned are like the caretakers of the magical jewels.
2) The Miraculous power/s does not have a timer. At least the older ones... Young holders like Chat have more time than the one in the original series, though. About 10 minutes or so.
3) Hawkmoth's powers are not solely on making akumas. He can also infuse the white butterglies with different elements like lightning etc.
Umm, that's the 3 main ones. but all might/will? be explained in further chapters. So, adieu for now
