He was sitting inside the shop with kids screaming in his ears and more than a few questionable stains on his clothes. Shouta pretended to not notice, leaning back on his chair as he watched the birthday party get lively, parents talking alone at a table where the kids only went to ask for anything before returning to their fun.

His hand lifted another spoon to his mouth when he noticed that the cup was empty. Fuck.

"Having fun?" A voice came from behind, dark eyes meeting blue, the new person grinning like the devilish cat he was.

"Dabi," Shouta greeted, leaving the empty ice cream cup on the table so he could cross his arms. "The world rejoices with your appearance under the sun. One would think you were allergic to social gatherings."

Dabi shrugged, taking a seat opposite to Shouta, crossing his legs and keeping his hands inside his pants.

"Not too far from the truth. Say, what are you doing in a place like this?"

Shouta hummed, looking down at the ice cream cup again. He needed to buy another one.

"I could ask you the same."

Dabi threw a look over his shoulder, gaze leading to the party behind."Heard there were going to be kids I could torment."

"Charming."

Dabi smirked, leaning forward on the table, arms acting as supporters for his upper body.

"You know me, ever the gentleman."

That made Shouta snort, looking to the side to not make eye contact with the other. Dabi's smirk grew larger at that.

"Guys!" an enthusiastic voice called, drawing their attention away from the small talk and to the door. Rumi stood there, clad in a winter jacket and knee-high boots, a grumpy Keigo following behind. "What a surprise to find you here."

Shouta thought this was too much of a coincidence, all four of them meeting in the same place at the same time. The universe really had a weird sense of humor.

"Rumi, Keigo," he greeted with a nod, moving to the side so the new arrivals could sit beside him.

"Man, what a weird twist. I was telling Keigo how much I wanted to see some of you at some point. Right, Keigo?" The blonde rolled his eyes, moving away as he said something about buying some ice cream. Rumi laughed. "He's just mad because I brought him to a kid's place. He hates kids."

"Yeah, he's not the only one." Dabi muttered, taking a napkin from the table and making it into a ball. Shouta already knew why he was doing that but dealing with the immature man's childish antics was not on his agenda, so he turned around. True enough, there was some confused yells from the kids and a few parents sending Dabi glares. Shouta sighed.

"I see you haven't changed," Rumi laughed, waving at the parents in apology.

"No reason to."

Just then Keigo came back, arms full of ice cream cups, one set in front of each person on the table before he sat down to eat his own.

"I'm still annoyed with you," he said to Rumi, taking a spoonful of the cold smoothness and putting it in his mouth. Rumi rolled her eyes, mouthing at the other two men before taking her cup.

"What did you buy?" Dabi asked, squinting at his blue ball of ice cream, poking it with the spoon. Keigo slapped his hand making Dabi hiss at him, rubbing at the inexistent injury.

"Don't play with your food," the blond said, spoon set in his mouth as he talked. "And that's blueberry. Mint for Shouta, peanut butter for Rumi."

"You know us so well," Rumi cried, exaggerating the gesture of fainting, making Keigo take a deep breath.

"Just eat it."

Shouta was genuinely surprised by the thought that went into buying these, taking his own ice cream cup with gratitude, eating a few spoons before a question came to his mind.

"What did you get?" He asked Keigo, sending him a short glance, movement from some kids behind Dabi distracting him momentarily.

"Dulce de leche," the blond answered, huffing in annoyance before throwing his empty cup to the table. "Unfortunately, this is the only ice cream parlor that I know that sells that flavor."

Rumi stopped eating her ice cream, clearing her throat to gather Keigo's attention, eyebrows raised. "That's why I brought you here."

"And there's a kid's party as we're speaking. There is zero forgiveness for you, traitor."

Rumi whined, a sound that was really not like her, then Dabi screamed a high pitch scream, chair giving in and letting him fall to the floor. The blueberry ice cream that he had let melt in its majority fell on his shirt, thin fabric doing nothing to save him from the stickiness and cold. Shouta bit his lower lip, covering his mouth with a hand as he saw a few kids giggling and running away from their table after making Dabi fall, Keigo staring down at his boyfriend as if he was no one he recognized.

"What the fuck!" Dabi screamed again, sitting up on the floor, pulling the tank top away from his body. "What the fuck!"

"Language, there's kids around." Rumi said, trying to contain a smile and failing. A full-on breathless chuckle left her when Dabi turned his glare to her.

Keigo stood up, grabbing Dabi's spilled cup from the floor together with his.

"I'm throwing these into the trash." He said, turning to walk to the trash cans. Dabi let out an offended noise.

"What about me?" He asked, making a gesture to himself.

Keigo frowned, looking him up and down carefully."Want me to throw you in the trash, too?" He ducked the plastic spoon chucked at him, dropping the empty cups away and coming back to sit at the table.

Shouta saw how Dabi grumbled as he stood up, taking a few napkins to try and save the shirt he was wearing. It was useless. He kicked at the air; death glare set upon the kid's party happening at the back of the parlor. Rumi sat straighter, hands up in a placating gesture.

"No." She said, leaning forward to talk to Dabi. "Don't you dare."

"These fuckers have it coming." He started moving towards the party.

"Dabi, they're kids!"

He laughed dryly, clenching his hands."They need to learn." And then he was off, walking into the chaos that was a herd of kids.

Keigo looked at his nails, completely ignoring the whole situation, practically projecting himself outside of this shop. Rumi turned to Shouta when she saw no hope in the blond.

"Should we do something?" She asked, a little bit desperate, a little bit unconcerned. Shouta looked at the back where Dabi tried to start something with one of the boys, plan backfiring at him when some of the others threw cake at his face and tackled him to the ground.

"You mean besides laughing?"

She sighed at his answer, putting her face down to the table in shame.

"Why did I come here today?" That drew Keigo's attention, his eyebrow raising as he crossed his arms, stance accusatory.

"I don't know. Why did you come here today?"

She let out a loud groan, making Shouta cough to hide his amusement with the situation, pulling his long hair into a bun and placing some chopsticks in it to hold it together, trying to do something other than draw attention onto himself.

At first, he had just come here to buy some ice cream from the closest place to his home, almost regretting his choice when he noticed the kid's party going on. Now he was glad he had come here, looking around at his three companions and biting back a smile.
