Jaune made his way out of the medical wing carrying Akemi in the same basket he had found her along with a bag of baby supplies cutesy of the head Medic. After his talk with Ozpin Jade had came back and he had explained to her the situation and how he would be Akemi's legal guardian now. Jade made a show of being mad about him dragging her into this without telling her but agreed to help him in anyway she could. Jaune smiled when he thought about his sisters partner and wished Bleu would just ask her out already, the entire family knew about her feelings for Jade and already considered her and the rest of their team as family.

Jaune looked down at the snoozing Akemi and chuckled at the little bit of spittle that was coming out of the corner of her mouth. He made his way to his dorm trying to avoid the few students that remained on Academy grounds, hoping to avoid any rumors getting to his team before he could tell them. Once he made it to his room he noticed a foul smell in the air and looked down at Akemi. "Well guess it's about time for a bath huh, you little stinker" he said as he softly pinched Akemi's cheek while she just smiled.

Once he'd finished wiping her off he grabbed a onesie from the bag and paused as he looked at it. It was orange red with a hood that had slits for her ears to fit through, surprisingly enough the color matched the fur on her ears and even had a puffy fox tail. 'Something tells me Jade had a hand in choosing these' thought Jaune with a chuckle. He set the onesie on his bed grabbing a soft washcloth as he made his way into the bathroom. He filled the tub with warm water and started the delicate process of bathing his new daughter taking extra care as he washed her sensitive ears.

Once her bath was finished Jaune dressed her and sat laid her on his bed while she entertained herself by giggling at something only she could see. Jaune pulled out his scroll and snapped a picture of her thinking she looked too adorable dressed in her fox onesie and had even began hugging the tail rubbing her cheek against it while giggling. Sending the picture to the only people that even knew about her. Jaune put his scroll away and began unpacking the bag of baby products and set about the meticulous task of organizing them on his desk.

Akemi started crying as he finished putting away the last onesie, figuring that she was hungry Jaune quickly made her a bottle and heard his stomach growl loudly. "Well guess we could both use some dinner little one." Jaune said as he picked her up and started heading for the cafeteria to both warm her dinner and get his. As they made their way through the halls of Beacon Jaune noticed all the stares abd even a few whispers that made his blood boil. "Look it has animal ears, must be a faunus. Filthy animal probably spreading fleas through campus." Jaune gave a glare that would make Goodwitch proud with it's intensity to the guy that said that last one.

Once Jaune had made it to the Cafeteria he went straight to one of the workers and asked them to heat up the bottle while he grabbed his dinner and took a seat. While he ate and bounced Akemi on his lap he could hear people whispering about them and staring in curiosity.

With team CFVY a few tables away

Coco noticed Jaune walk into the cafeteria and raised an eyebrow at seeing Akemi in his arms. She lowered her sunglasses and nudged her partner motioning towards the two and asked. "Hey Bun isn't that the guy who's always getting shot down by the Schnee girl? Wonder what he's doing with a kid, and more importantly I wonder who the mother is?"

Velvet looked towards the father, daughter duo and watched them for a few seconds. "His name is Jaune and her name is Weiss, I don't know about the baby though. I've talked to their teams before and he never mentioned anything about having a child. Maybe it's his sibling or a cousin?" Velvet offered as an explanation while Coco kept watching the two before having an idea. She pushed Velvet off her seat making her stumble a bit before looking back and glaring at her smiling partner who motioned her forward.

Velvet rolled her eyes at her partners antics but couldn't deny she was curious about the two's relationship as well, so despite being literally pushed into doing it she made her way over to Jaune's table and sat next to him. Jaune looked up from his food and gave a smile at the familiar face of his friend Velvet. "Hey Vel how are you doing?"

Velvet smiled and said "Oh you know same as usual Coco's up to her usual antics of using me as a way to make an appearance. I swear if she wasn't my partner and best friend I might actually take offence." Jaune laughed and noticed said team leader sitting behind Velvet with a smirk on her face. "Oh please you know you love me Bun" said Coco, which made Velvet nearly jump out of her seat. Coco giggled at the pout Velvet had from Coco being able to sneak up on her in heeled boots of all things.

Jaune raised an eyebrow but smiled non the less as he could tell the two were very close. Just as he was about to talk to the two he felt a tap on his shoulder and was handed a warm bottle curtesy of the kitchen staff from earlier. Jaune smiled and thanked him as the worker went back to the kitchen. Jaune looked back to the two huntresses who gave him expectant looks. Jaune raised an eyebrow and asked "You guys want to know this little angels story don't you" motioning down to Akemi who was staring up at Velvets ears with a sparkle in her violet irises which didn't go unnoticed by the three adults.

Akemi started reaching up and making grabbing motions with her hands in an effort to catch Velvets ears. Jaune chuckled as he watched her while Velvet smiled and tilted her head forward tickling Akemi with the fur of her ears. Akemi giggled and grabbed onto Velvets ears causing the rabbit Faunus to grit her teeth, but smile with tears in her eyes. Jaune quickly got Akemi to let go and distracted her by beginning to feed her the bottle.

"So Jaune mind telling us how you came to be in charge of this little ball of sunshine?" asked Coco with a raised eyebrow and a smile at the way Akemi happily inhaled the bottle. Jaune looked down at Akemi sadly as she finished her bottle and began patting her back to burp her as he told the 2nd hear team about what happened earlier that day and what he learned. Yats and Fox had clenched fists angry that the grimm had made another orphan, while Coco and Velvet comforted each other wiping away their tears.

Coco took off her signature sunglasses showing off her beautiful brown irises and took Akemi looking her over and smiling when the baby reached up and patted her cheeks. Coco rubbed her cheek against Akmei's eliciting a giggle from the little faunus. Jaune felt his cheeks warm at the sight before him, he had been told by his father that your woman will never look more beautiful than when she's holding your child in her arms. 'Woah wait a second Jaune she's not your woman this is Coco you're looking at she's beautiful yes, she looks even more beautiful with Akemi smiling in her arms, but she'd never go for a guy like you.' Thought Jaune as he shook his head and smiled at his daughter.

Velvet saw the way Jaune was looking at Coco and the way Akemi smiled up at her partner and felt something in her chest tighten, while she heard a little voice in the back of her head tell her to take Akemi from Coco and stake her claim on Jaune. 'What was that?! I don't even like Jaune like that, sure he has stood up to Cardin for me before even though he just got harassed instead, and he's not the worst looking of guys. Sure he can be really sweet in a goofy dorky kind of way a-' Velvet shook her head to get those thoughts out of her head.

Velvet gently took Akemi from Coco and started tickling her with her ears causing her to break out in an uncontrollable fit of giggles. Coco watched this and narrowed her eyes feeling Jealous of her partner and best friend. Velvet smiled down at the giggling Akemi who let out an adorable little yawn, before she snuggled into Velvets chest and let out what sounded like a purr. Coco, and Velvet completely forgot about any jealousy they held and gushed over how adorable she had sounded. While Akemi napped with Coco and Velvet talking about how adorable they were, the three males talked about the training they had been doing lately and who had the best maintenance method for their blades.

When Coco and Velvet looked back up fifteen minutes later the three boys had been ready to brawl over who had the sharpest blade. All three looked ready to lunge at each other when Velvet cleared her throat to get their attention and said "If you wake up this little Angel I'll drag all three of you to an arena and beat you senseless. Am I clear?" Fox and Jaune were using Yats as human shield since he was the biggest of the three while said huntsman tried his best to break out of their hold and run. He remembered what happened last time he sparred with Velvet while she was angry and was still terrified.

Coco was recording the entire thing already thinking of all the shopping trips she could force the four to go on using the video as blac- an incentive for them to say yes. She quietly slid her scroll into her pocket so the others wouldn't notice, while Velvet continued to chastise the three males for acting like children. After the guys were thoroughly chastised for 30 minutes the two teams decided that they should head to the JNPR dorm so Jaune could get showered while they watched Akemi.

The group made their way to the Jaune's dorm and CFVY had a few questions to ask when they walked in. Mostly why the mattresses were on the ground with the pillows and blankets spread out on top of them with the bedframes pushed into a corner. Jaune chuckled and explained that it was how his family slept at home when they were all together watching a movie and that he had felt home sick so he tried doing the same. The older team decided not to question it and sat in the desk chairs while Jaune made his way into the bathroom.

When Coco heard the water start up she immediately felt her curiosity getting the better of her and decided to look around the room. She noticed a belt with a pistol holstered hanging off one of the bed frames and looked it over. She whistled when she felt the weight of it, she ran her fingers over the gold lettering that read "Blanc". She didn't know the exact type but she recognized it as a standard issue to Vacuo Marshals from the few missions her team had taken with the policing force. Checking the magazine she was surprised to see fire dust rounds glowing a dim red. She carefully slid the mag back in and holstered the pistol again before making her way to Jaune's nightstand and picked up a framed picture of a smiling Jaune with his seven sisters and parents. Coco whistled at seeing Jaune's father looking forward to what Jaune will look like when he's older. She noticed that Jaune had longer hair and a wilder look in his eyes as he grinned at the camera. 'Wonder where this Jaune went?'

Velvet shook her head at Coco's snooping going back to looking down at the sleeping baby in her arms. She smiled when Akemi started moving her limbs like she was crawling and noticed her ears would twitch every time they made a noise. "I wonder how Jaune is going to balance his schoolwork, training, and raising this little ball of sunshine. Raising Faunus children is very different from raising a human child."

Coco set the picture down and sat next to Velvet looking down at Akemi and asked the same question that their other two teammates were thinking. "How different is it? I helped take care of my younger siblings and it wasn't so tough." Said Coco. Velvet giggled as she began to explain "The biggest difference is that Faunus children will sometimes show behavior reminiscent of the animals they show traits of. My siblings and I would bolt from rooms anytime we were startled and sometimes would get lost because of it when we'd be out in public. Our mother had to stop us from trying to dig up holes in the backyard and from digging up carrots in her garden. I could only imagine how hard it would be for Faunus that have traits from predator species like foxes."

Coco had a thoughtful look on her face that turned into a teasing smirk when she looked at her partner. "Is that why you nearly beat Yats into a coma last time he ate the last piece of carrot cake?" she asked as Yats shivered at the memory and reflexively held fox up as a shield. Velvet blushed but also gave Yats a stern glare. "In my defense the container clearly had my name on it and even said it was from my mom, the fact that he chose to ignore it meant he needed punishment befitting the crime."

Coco giggled while Yats shouted that it wasn't him who ate it and that someone had framed him. Velvet and fox rolled their eyes having heard the same excuse every time the infamous cake incident was brought up. Coco smiled as she watched her team squabble loving the fact that they were all close enough to let Velvet be herself instead of the timid bunny everyone else thought she was. That girl had a fire in her that she needed to let out. 'That cake was good, glad I planted the crumbs next to Yats while he was napping. I love you bun, but you got a bite that's much worse than your bark.'

Coco was shaken from her musings by a scared looking Fox trying to break free from Yats while Velvet smiled sweetly. "Ok guys lets save the fighting for when we get to an arena, don't need Goodwitch chewing us out for destroying another dorm room, especially on that isn't even ours."

"Yeah I'd appreciate y'all not destroying my room especially with my little girl sleeping in it." Said Jaune from the open restroom door. Coco turned to say something but felt her mouth go numb at seeing a shirtless Jaune. He wasn't as muscular as Yatsuashi, but he was definitely more cut than Fox and his toned physique. She looked to her right and saw a bushing Velvet tying to look as small as possible and hide behind her ears. She couldn't tell if she was blushing from Jaune seeing her or from him seeing her interact with them when she thought no one was looking.

Unfortunately for Velvet she wasn't as unnoticeable as she wanted to be considering she held his sleeping child. Jaune made his way over and smiled down at Akemi bending to kiss her head softly which meant he was close enough for Velvet to catch a whiff of him which made her blush even more. 'He smells like the Rosewoods from back home, and what's that smell and why does it make me feel so warm.' Thought Velvet as Jaune stood back up and took notice of her red face.

Jaune pressed his forehead to Velvets which made the bunny girl blush even harder than she already was. "Velvet are you getting sick? Your face is really red and you feel really warm. Maybe you should go get some rest." Said Jaune not noticing how Velvet looked like a deer caught in the headlights, while he took Akemi and turned to lay her on the pile of mattresses. Jaune looked up from his daughter and saw Coco with a hand on Yats and Fox who seemed irritated for some reason. 'Who the hell do you think you are touching our little sister like that?! I'd tear you a new one it Coco wasn't holding me back right now.' Were the thought going through the heads of the two males of team CFVY.

"Yats, Fox how about you two take Velvet back to our dorm so she can get some rest (Not die of embarrassment). The two males nodded and gently guided the malfunctioning Velvet out of the room. Once the three had left Coco looked towards Jaune with a smile and sat on the mattress next to the sleeping Akemi softly stroking the babies cheek. Jaune smiled at the sight and felt his cheeks redden at the thought of Coco laying back into his chest, with Akemi asleep in her arms. Jaune shook his head and went to his dresser to find a shirt and hide the blush on his face.

Coco smiled having caught the blush and wondering what exactly Jaune had been thinking as she leaned back against the head board still softly stroking Akemi's cheek. Jaune put on a white t-shirt and sat on the other side of Akemi smiling at the way she smiled in her sleep. "So what's the story of that scar on your chest it looks old, too old to be from your time here at Beacon. I mean that's if you don't mind talking about it that is."

Jaune leaned back against the wall and let out a sigh while scratching the back of his head. "I don't mind sharing the story but it's really not that interesting. One day when I was out in the forest playing with my younger twin sisters we went too far from our home. We had been playing tag when we noticed this rabbit that had been hanging around our families garden eating our moms vegetables and decided that if we could catch it maybe mom would be happy. She had gotten back from a mission and had been looking really depressed for a couple days."

Jaune stretched and popped his neck getting more comfortable before continuing. "Looking back I should've dragged the girls back even if it meant them hating me for a few days but I've never really had the heart to deny them what they want. We chased it past the fence our dad put up to tell us what the boundary for us exploring was Sapphire managed to corner it in a hollow underneath a tree when we heard the growling. While we had been hunting the rabbit we had been being hunted by a Beowolf. It slowly made it's way out of the bushes. It lunged at us so I pushed Velvet and Sapphire out of the way. The Grimm and I rolled across the ground before my back hit a tree and I held it's wrists using my legs to keep it from biting into my throat. I yelled for the girls to run and get help but Sapphire had always been a spitfire, she grabbed a tree branch and started hitting the Grimm. It slapped her away so I kicked it with everything I had and ran over to her. Velvet had listened and ran home to get help. Sapphire hit her head and was unconscious so I hid her in the hollow and lead the Grimm away. When I felt like we were far enough away I took out the hunting knife my grandfather had given me and tried to fight it."

Flashback

A 14 year old Jaune sprinted weaving through trees to try and keep some distance between him and the Beowolf he could hear chasing him. He jumped over a fallen log and made it into a clearing turning around just as the Beowolf broke through the tree line. Jaune shivered as he looked into it's red eyes that were full of hatred and hunger, he slowly drew the knife his grandfather had given him for his birthday. He took a stance he thought would be ok and slowly circled right as the Grimm circled to his left. He knew he couldn't beat the Grimm all he could hope was maybe he could make it fight for it's meal.

'So long as Velvet can get help to Sapphire I can die here with no regrets. Grandmother I'll be with you soon save me a spot at the banquet table.' Thought Jaune as he charged the Beowolf who seemed to smile and rush at him. He clumsily dodged the first claw swipe and tried to bury his knife into it's soft belly. Unfortunately for him it blocked the stab with it's other hand before smacking him away. Jaune rolled and landed in a heap, vomiting that mornings breakfast as he tried getting back up. When he'd finally gotten up the Beowolf was on him in an instant and slashed him from shoulder to hip.

Jaune looked down at the slash watching as his blood pooled at his feet, before falling to his knees dropping the knife. The Beowolf loomed over him with a hungry look in it's eye so Jaune did the only thing he could. He looked up at the Grimm and glared defiantly extending his claws and slashing the Grimm like it had done him. The cut was shallow and didn't do much of anything to it. Jaune fell on his face seeing his vision blur as the Grimm's Jaws slowly lowered to his throat. The last thing he heard before passing out was a familiar voice shouting his name "Jaune!"

Flashback End

Coco looked at Jaune with a thoughtful look before reaching over, gently cupping his face before telling him. "You did good Jaune though I am glad you didn't die that day considering if you had you'd never have saved Akemi here this morning." Jaune smiled at Coco who felt her cheeks flush at the way he was smiling and was leaning in before she knew what she was doing, Jaune did the same and both would have kissed if Akemi hadn't chosen that moment to start crying her lungs out snapping both out of their trance. Coco quickly picked up Akemi and started rocking her to try and calm her down.

Jaune looked at Coco holding Akemi and decided maybe singing a lullaby would help. He remembered a song his mother would sing to help him and his twin Alex sleep at night.

Akemi stopped crying and let out a little yawn before she snuggled into Coco's chest which made her smile and warmed her heart immeasurably. Jaune continued singing and Coco felt her eyes start to get heavy, adjusting herself to het more comfortable she ended up with her head laying on Jaune's chest. Jaune continued to sing not minding the closeness at all.

Jaune smiled as he finished singing and looked down to see Coco smiling in her sleep with a happily sleeping Akemi snuggled into her chest. He felt the days fatigue catch up to him and let out a yawn as he pulled the blanket up to keep them warm, wrapping his arm around the sleeping Coco's waist without noticing.
