Author's Note: This chapter was originally supposed to be longer, but it's been a crazy couple of weeks. Anyway, I found a spot where I could split the chapter up. I hope everyone is staying safe.

Mid August

Kellie's about 34 weeks pregnant.

MetroCourt

Jason escorted Kellie into the MetroCourt where Molly, Carly, and Olivia were taking the baby shower gifts and cards.

"Molly, you have to give me a hint about this baby shower," Carly said, "Why don't we have food and only one round of drinks? All we're setting up is a gift table."

"You'll just have to find out along with the other guests," Molly said.

"Just one hint,"Carly said.

"Carly, let Kellie and Molly have their fun," Olivia said, "Enjoy the mystery."

"Kellie," Carly exclaimed.

"I'm not spilling anything either," Kellie said as Jason pulled out a seat for her and helped her into the chair. Jason sat next to Kellie.

"You're not staying are you, Jason?" Carly asked as guests starting coming in, "I know you've been worried about Kellie since she had issues with her blood pressure and now the Braxton hicks. But staying for a baby shower."

"I think it's sweet," Olivia said.

"And romantic," Molly said, "Besides we ended up with an odd number of people. Jason will even the numbers out."

Carly looked at Molly, Kellie, and Jason, "You're up to something, I just know it."

"Carly, it's a baby shower," Kellie said, "Live a little."

As the guests showed up, Molly paired them off into teams and gave each team an envelope. The teams were Sam/Sage, Lulu/Maxie, Carly/Olivia, Kim/Monica, Diane/Alexis, Kristina/Liz, Sasha/Willow.

"Wait a minute," Carly said, "There's an even number of us without Jason here."

"Molly doesn't count," Kellie said, "She wrote the clues."

"You're all going on a scavenger hunt," Molly said, "The envelope contains your first clue. Don't try to the follow the other teams to get ahead. Not all the clues lead to the same place."

"Are we coming back here?" Carly asked.

"You'll have to follow the clues," Molly said, "And the clock starts now."

"This is timed," Carly said, "Olivia we better hurry.

There was a flurry of envelopes of opening and guest scrambling. Kellie and Jason snuck out amidst everyone working out their clues and leaving.

The Floating Rib

Jason and Kellie walked in and grabbed a table.

"That was fast," Felicia said, "Maxie texted they were just starting the scavenger hunt."

"I already knew the end spot," Kellie said, "It's not really fair if I participate. But I'd appreciate it if you didn't mention we were here already."

"You'll have been the first ones here," Felicia said as Molly walked in with the gifts from the MetroCourt.

Eventually, Lulu and Maxie walked in followed by Willow and Sasha.

"Dammit, we're not the first one's here," Maxie said, "Yet I'm not surprised? Why is that?

"I told you Kellie didn't strike me as the baby shower game type," Sasha said to Willow.

"She's not," Lulu said, "She and Jason came straight here didn't you?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Kellie said.

"It's her baby shower," Willow said as Carly and Olivia ran in.

"Exactly," Molly said, handing Lulu and Maxie their prize bags. She also handed bags to Willow and Sasha.

"I told you it was the third left, but you insisted it was the second left ," Olivia said to Carly.

"And you still got third place," Molly said, handing them prize bags.

"Wait, this is the end?" Carly said, "but I thought we'd end up back at the MetroCourt."

"I think it ends here, Carly," Sam said coming in with Sage.

"This is more what I expected for Kellie's baby shower," Sage said, heading to the bar.

""Wait a minute," Carly said, "When did Jason and Kellie get here? They don't have a prize."

"I wasn't playing for prizes, Carly," Kellie said.

"No, I knew there something fishy about Jason tagging along to this baby shower," Carly said, "No way he would participate in a scavenger hunt."

"I can't help it if we finished faster than everyone else," Kellie said.

"Show me your clues," Carly said, staring Kellie down.

Jason pulled the clues out of his jacket and handed them to Carly.

Carly looked at the bent clue and empty envelopes.

"Felicia, when did they get here?" Carly asked.

"Before everyone else did," Felicia said.

"Carly, you still got a prize," Olivia said, "Even if Kellie and Jason were choose to skip the scavenger hunt portion, that would be their choice."

The remaining guests arrived. When Kellie was opening the gifts, Jordan and Valerie walked in.

"This is a private party," Molly said.

"We're here on police business," Jordan said.

"Dare I ask what type of police business would require you to interrupt a baby shower?" Diane asked.

"We need to ask Kellie Morgan questions about the death of Garrett Esoterra," Valerie replied.
