"I'm going to go put something on that's not soaked," Kellie said as Jason found flashlights in the dresser drawer.

Jason turned them on and gave one to Kellie who disappeared into the closet.

"What's the situation with hot water?" Monica asked as Jason handed her a flash light.

"It should stay warm in the tank for awhile," Jason said, "If not, the gas stove will still work."

"Thanks heavens for small miracles," Monica replied, "Sage and I are going to get a few supplies."

"The linen closets in the hallway," Jason said.

"We'll let everyone down stairs know what's going on," Sage said.

Monica and Sage left the rooms. A few second laters, Kellie came out of the closet.

"Do you want to lay down or get in the bed?" Jason asked.

"Not yet," Kellie said, sitting on the couch as Jason sat next to her, "They'll be plenty of time for that later. This is all your fault by the way; giving birth at home in the middle of surprise party for Your birthday in the middle of storm with no power."

"On the plus side, you won't have to go two more weeks being pregnant and miserable," Jason said, going to rub Kellie's back.

Kellie swatted his hand away, "No you do not get to point out the bonuses of giving birth early or touch me. You touching me is what got is into this…"

Kellie was interrupted by the next contraction. She grabbed Jason's hand and squeezed it hard.

"Damn I should have known better," Kellie said, "I just assumed it had to be false labor because I still had two more weeks to go. The twins were early as expected. But Alyssa took her time. I figured since Alyssa was late it was more likely this one wouldn't be early."

Jason kissed Kellie cutting off her rambling.

"Everything's going to be fine," Jason said, "She's full term. I don't think we'll have any complications."

"At there's that," Kellie replied, "And we know she's not breech. I shouldn't have brought that up. Now I'm definitely going to freak out about giving birth away from a medical facility."

"You're right," Jason said, "You can't think about what happened when Carlos Alcazar kidnapped Sam. This is a totally different situation. You and Sage didn't have any medical supplies. By the time you got to Sam, she was already in the last stages of labor."

"Jason's right," Sage said coming into the room with towels and blankets, "I've had to help moms deliver babies at home, in the car, on a bus, the woods, the metro court, and in way worse weather conditions than this."

"I'm really glad you're here, Sage," Kellie said, "If I have to give birth at home."

"There is nobody else I'd let help you deliver outside the hospital," Sage said, "My track record is amazing. However, if this outfit gets covered in icky gooey stuff. You are buying me a new one."

"Sage, I'm sure you can find some old jeans and shirt of mine to borrow in the closet," Kellie said.

"Good idea," Sage said, going to search the closet.

"Is there anything I can get you," Jason asked, "Ice chips, water."

"I hid a milkshake in the garage fridge," Kellie said.

"I'll go get it," Jason said.

"Bring the ice and water too," Sage yelled from the closet.

Downstairs, Jason stopped by to check on everyone.

"Dad," Jake said, "Can we finish opening presents? We have time before the baby comes right?"

"I don't know," Jason started to say.

"We could take the gifts upstairs," Jamie said, "Than Mom could…"

Jason shook his head, "We'll have to finish opening presents another time. Kellie's having the baby tonight and I need to be with her."

"Your mom can't deliver your sister and have a bunch of people in the room at the same time," Michael said.

"I know you guys were really excited about tonight," Jason said, "And you went to a lot of hard work to plan this party. But this is one of those times where life has other plans and you have to adjust and make the best of it."

"You mean the new baby had other plans," Alyssa said, "Figures."

"If she's born before midnight, she'll have the same birthday as Dad and Uncle Drew," Danny said, "That's kind of cool."

"That means we could have three different parties," Jared said.

"Every year," Alyssa said.

"Hey let's not get ahead of ourselves," Drew said.

"Let's worry about that next year," Sam said, "Maybe we could combine parties."

"No everyone should have their own party," Jake said.

Alexis & Lorenzo's House

Lorenzo was turning the door knob to leave.

"Just where do you think you're going in this weather?" Alexis said.

"Kellie and Jason's," Lorenzo said, "Sage and Sam both texted that Kellie's in labor and they can't get to the hospital with the trees down in the road."

"You're going to get to their place how?" Alexis asked, "I'm sure there's trees blocking the road. Not mention some could go down while you or your guard are driving there."

Lorenzo tried to think of a plausible answer.

"That's what I thought," Alexis said, "You're going to have to wait it out here like everyone else unless you've got favors you can call in to get the roads cleared faster.

"No, but Sonny might," Lorenzo said, pulling out his phone.

"That was not meant to be a serious solution," Alexis said, "Sam texted me too. Kellie's going to be just fine with Sage and Monica there. All you'll do is give the girls one more thing to worry about by alpha-maling it out into this storm and getting stuck somewhere."

"I really didn't want you to make sense," Lorenzo said, pacing the floor, "But having Sonny call in favors to…."

"No," Alexis said, "I know you're worried about Kellie giving birth at home. But again Monica and Sage are there."

"I'm worried about the girls if something goes wrong," Lorenzo said, "The last time all three of them were in a situation where one of them delivered a baby under less than ideal circumstances, it didn't end well."

"Sam and Jason's son didn't make it," Alexis said, "I remember all too well. Your father had kidnapped Sam. The baby was breech. The labor took too long. By the time help arrived….and we are going to change the subject because this isn't helping either one of us. NeIther is you pacing. There's a bottle of sparkling cider in the fridge. Let's celebrate the baby finally being born."

Lorenzo followed Alexis to the kitchen.

A short time later, Alexis and Lorenzo were curled up in bed together.

"You make an excellent distraction, counselor," Lorenzo said.

"Not enough of one to keep your from checking your phone for news," Alexis said as Lorenzo looked at the nightstand.

"Guilty," Lorenzo said, grabbing the phone and checking for messages, "Nothing yet."

He put the phone back.

"I'll just have to distract you some more," Alexis said, kissing him.

"You know, one of these days, you'll have to make an honest man out of me," Lorenzo said.

"I'd have to want to do that," Alexis replied.

"Well do you?" Lorenzo asked.

Alexis froze stunned.

"Well, counselor," Lorenzo said, caressing Alexis's cheek, "What do you say to becoming husband and wife?"
