"Is this your idea of a marriage proposal?" Alexis finally replied, "You know what? Don't answer that. Are you out of your mind? We only just got back together in the last few months. Isn't it a little soon to be talking marriage?"
"I don't think so," Lorenzo said, "We're been in and out of each others lives since we were teenagers. We've always ended up back with each other sooner or later. I love you. I have since I first saw you. No amount of trying as ever made it stop. I'm all in. Are you?"
"This just seems so sudden," Alexis said. Then paused.
"And yet," Lorenzo said.
"Yes, I'll marry you," Alexis said, kissing him.
After a few minutes of kissing, Alexis stopped.
"Don't think this gets you off the hook for a fancy proposal with a ring," Alexis said.
"I wouldn't dream of it," Lorenzo said, kissing her and pull the covers over them.
Jason and Kellie's house
While Jason, Monica, and Sage were with Kellie, everyone else cleaned up the party. The adults kept the kids distracted with campfire and ghost stories.
"I need to push," Kellie said. The contractions were coming only minutes apart by now.
"Let me check…" Monica replied as the next contraction hit and Kellie pushed, cursing, and crushing Jason's hand.
"I'm never having sex again," Kellie said, "That might be the only way I can ensure that I never go through this again."
"Don't you think that might be going a little too far," Sage said as Kellie glared at her.
"Now is not the time, Sage," Monica said.
"Just trying to lighten the mood," Sage replied.
"I'd throw something at you if I had something to throw," Kellie said.
"Lucky for you I cleared anything you could throw," Sage replied as Kellie cursed through another contraction.
"Next contraction, I need you to push," Monica said.
"You're almost there," Jason said.
"Thank God, finally," Kellie said.
Kellie pushed through the next few contractions.
"Here she comes," Monica said, "One more, Kellie."
"I'm holding you to that," Kellie said, before the next contraction hit.
"She's here," Sage said, as Kellie and Jason's daughter cried.
"Do you want to cut the cord, Jason?" Monica asked.
"Sure," Jason said and moved near Monica and Sage. Once he cut the cord and Monica checked her out. Jason took her from Monica.
"We can clean her up first if you want," Sage said, "Though I think your shirt's already… never mind."
Jason wasn't paying attention as he walked over to Kellie. Monica and Sage quietly cleaned up as Jason handed Kellie their daughter. He sat next to her on the bed.
"I can't believe she's here," Kellie said, cradling her, "This wasn't quite the birthday present I was planning on giving you. Happy Birthday."
"I can't think of a better present," Jason said.
"She's perfect," Kellie said.
"Yeah," Jason said.
They were interrupted by Michael and the paramedics coming up the stairs.
"They're in here," Michael said, "And by the looks of it…"
"You missed the big finale," Sage said as Monica spoke to the paramedics.
"What is wrong with you, Sage?" Kellie asked, "You're making my daughter's birth sound like a huge stage production."
"The way you curse and carry on," Sage said, "It would be."
"Jason, can you give me something to throw at her?" Kellie asked.
"First things first," Monica said, "You and this little one need to get checked out at the hospital. Have the two of you picked out a name?"
Kellie and Jason looked at each other. Kellie nodded at Jason to tell them the name.
"Her name is Kelsey Monica Morgan," Jason said.
Speechless, Monica gasped, hugging Jason.
General Hospital
The paramedics took Jason, Kellie and the baby to the hospital. Kellie and Kelsey were given clean bills of health, but kept overnight for observation.
Come morning, Kellie woke up to find Jason holding Kelsey.
"She's been waiting for you to wake up," Jason said, softly.
"Liar," Kellie said, seeing Kelsey was sleeping away, "She's so not awake."
Kellie position herself to sit up more and moved to make room for Jason to sit next to her.
"I think your mom is going to get us into trouble with Epiphany," Jason said to Kelsey.
"Only if she's on shift," Kellie said, "Pretty sure the whole giving birth in the middle of a crazy windstorm at home will keep me on Epiphany's good side. Besides, I dare you and you know you want to."
Jason shook his head, but sat next to Kellie who took Kelsey from him and learned against Jason.
"How are you feeling?" Jason asked.
"Sore, tired still," Kellie said, "But happy."
"Me too," Jason said, "I mean the happy part and some of the tired. Obviously, not the sore part."
"I figured," Kellie said, "I wasn't serious about the no sex again thing, you know. There's obviously things I'd want to take care and be sure they're taken care of . I don't even know why I'm talking about this now."
"It was the pain talking, I know," Jason said, "This morning it's probably exhaustion and the whole having just given birth thing talking."
"The whole giving birth thing?" Kellie said, "I'm not the only one that's still tired."
"It's not like we're in a rush at the moment," Jason said, as they sat in silence.
"I still can't believe our daughter was born on your birthday," Kellie said, "I really didn't expect that. As much as I hate to admit this, the kids pulling their stunt with inviting a bunch people over worked out in that, we didn't have to stick the guards on babysitting duty."
"And Sage and Monica were there," Jason said.
"What ended happened with the party after all this?" Kellie said.
"There's still presents left to open them," Jason said, "And Jake insists I can't open them until he comes over."
"We'll figure something out," Kellie said.
"After a few weeks," Jason said, "I don't want you to feel rushed into entertaining."
Jason and Kellie settled into silence again, looking at Kelsey.
"It still feels strange sometimes," Kellie said.
"What does?" Jason asked.
"You, me, here with a daughter," Kellie said, "Sometime it still catches me by surprise after all the things that happened over the years, especially between you being shot, kidnapped, thought dead, and me losing Tyler and everything else. But it's a good surprise."
"I think I know what you mean," Jason said, "Everything about us, our family, it was completely unexpected. But I can't imagine not coming home to you and the kids.
"When things get crazy," Kellie said, "I love knowing that you're there at the end of the day or middle of it. Since normal aren't exactly our thing. Even when I'm trying not to handle it all myself, it's nice just having you there, knowing I can ask."
"You can always ask before trying to handle it all yourself," Jason said.
"I like to things the hard way," Kellie said, "That's never changed."
"No, it hasn't," Jason said, "And the truth is, I wouldn't want you to."
Jason and Kellie kissed before being interrupting by Kelsey waking up and crying.
