"Young Mistress Gemma, Young Mistress Gemma"
After getting no response the small house elf gently shakes the sleeping girl causing her to blink her eyes open with a blank look on her face as she sits up rubbing her eyes.
"Young Mistress Gemma must go down for breakfast"
The 'young mistress' known as Gemma doesn't move, showing no signs that she heard the house elf other than a tilt of her head as she continues to stare blankly at the wall in front of her. So the house elf grabs the girls right hand that has a ring on the ring finger and traces a series of letters onto it then tapping her hand three times. Gemma taps her hand onto the bed twice and moves her head slightly towards the house elf with her eyes still looking blankly at the wall
"Breakfast?"
She asks her voice quiet but emotionless. The house elf taps the girls hand twice whilst saying
"Correct"
Gemma then pulls the forest green and silver quilt off her legs and stands up from her queen sized bed dressed in a plain jade green night gown that matches the ring that has a silver band and jade green gemstones embedded into the band creating a smooth surface. Gemma then steps onto the hardwood floor and the house elf snaps their fingers causing Gemma's clothes change into a knee length royal blue dress with slip on flats of the same colour whilst the ring's gemstones change from the jade green to a royal blue matching the dress and shoes.
The house elf then disapparates from the room and the door opens as Narcissa Malfoy walks in and guides Gemma over to the dressing table before sitting her down and standing behind her with a hair brush.
"Gemma?"
Gemma then taps the table twice causing Narcissa to smile slightly
"Happy Birthday Sweetheart"
She then starts brushing her daughters platinum blonde hair
"After you've had your breakfast and opened your presents with Draco your hogwarts letter should have arrived by then and we'll go into Diagon Alley tomorrow and get your books charmed"
"Presents?"
Yes and we can open your Hogwarts Letter tomorrow"
Gemma tilts her head to the left so Narcissa traces letter onto her right hand
"Hogwarts letter?"
Two taps on the shoulder
"Correct, Now then let's join the boys downstairs"
she then sets the hair brush down onto the table before guiding Gemma down into the dining room.
"I still don't understand why you say you charm her books, you charm her ring to help her read the books"
Draco's voice echos around the dining room
"Because Draco, if everyone knows it's the ring then when you get to school people will know how to target her."
Lucius addresses his sons question but is quickly cut off
"I won't let that happen!"
This time it's Narcissa that answers
"It's not a matter of letting it happen darling."
Lucius then continues his wife's sentence
"It's a matter of those filthy mudbloods and blood traitors not being able to use Gemma's condition against us."
Draco nods his head in understanding and Gemma looks up from her plate.
"Presents?"
Voice still quiet and emotionless, Draco jumps up from his seat looking at their parents
"Yeah can we have them now we've finished with breakfast!"
"Their in the drawing room"
Gemma claps her hands twice as the edge of her lips twitch upwards slightly as she stands up as well following the sound and vibrations of Draco's footsteps on the hardwood floor.
When she finally gets to the drawing room there are presents laid out on the floor Draco's were with Emerald green wrapping and silver bows whilst Gemma's were silver with mint green bows but in between the two piles was a square present with emerald green wrapping and a mint green bow which Gemma was instantly drawn to. Whilst Draco went to his own pile she walked slowly to the box and trying to figure out what it was.
"You won't be able to sense it's magic Gemma we put a spell on it so you'll have to open it to find out what it is"
Draco lept up from his presents and went over to Gemma
"Finally you can't spoil it anymore"
she grabs Draco's hand and puts it on top of the box before she begins to open it, when all the wrapping is pulled off it reveals a chest
"Quidditch"
Draco looked over his shoulder at her
"If it is we're playing for the rest of the day"
He then reaches forwards and opens the chest to reveal two bludgers strapped down with a mint green quaffle embroidered with a silver 'M'. There is also the malfoy family crest on the inside lid of the chest which covered the golden snitch that was also embroidered with an 'M' only it was emerald green. Gemma turns her head slightly towards her parents
"Play... Now?"
Narcissa smiles at her children and Lucius smirks
"Yes you may but maybe you should also open one other present first."
Draco ran towards a present that was shaped like a broom in his pile and grabbed the one in Gemma's pile putting it in her hand they both then rip them open revealing 2 nimbus 2000's Draco looked up at his father
"I thought these only come out on the 31st of July."
The smirk on lucius' face grew
"Yes the owner of the nimbus company owed me a favour"
Gemma grabs her new broom standing with it in one hand and grabbing her new quaffle with the other
"Play?"
Her gaze was still blank and voice emotionless but a slight smile could be seen as she looked at two of her birthday presents.
"Okay so first we need to check is that you can hear me. Gemma?"
Draco shouts to Gemma who's hovering around 5 meters informs of him She tilts her head to the left
"So that's a no"
He then then flies next to her and writes on her hand whilst saying aloud
"Now where gonna see how well you can sense where I am from my magic"
she taps her broom twice and Draco flies to the right she then points at him so he flys to the left and she follows him with her hand. He then loops behind her and she turns her body to point at him with her head still looking forwards, he then flies next to her and taps her hand before flying down to the ground and grabbing their new quaffle
"Now you have to follow the quaffle we'll try throwing and catching first then you can play chaser and I'll play keeper"
she taps her broom twice and Draco throws the quaffle towards her she reaches out and grabs it before throwing it back in Draco's direction but is off to the left a bit.
"To the right a bit more!"
He then throws but it's slightly too high so she moves upwards catching it expertly. She then throws it back right into Draco's arms. They repeat this a few times before Draco decides its enough
"Looks like your ready"
she tilts her head to the left so Draco flys over to her and traces on her hand and gives her the quaffle. He then flys over to the rings and whistles.
Gemma shoots off flying towards the rings before launching the quaffle towards the left ring but Draco saves it shouting
"Ten points to DRACO"
pretending to be the announcer, he then throws it over Gemma's head away from the rings causing her to chase it before pulling the ball close to her chest and flying back towards the right ring but Draco being cautious stays at the middle ring so she shoots and it goes through the right ring
"Ten points to GEMMA"
he shouts before retrieving the quaffle and throwing it again this time it goes further back causing her to dive slightly to grab it. She then approaches the rings from below and aims for the right ring again causing Draco to drift towards it slightly she then changes her grip on the ball and shoots it towards the left ring
"Another Ten points to GEMMA"
Gemma claps her hands twice before zooming off after the quaffle again.
After a couple of hours out on their brooms and opening their presents the malfoy twins were called into the drawing room.
When they entered the drawing room they saw Gemma's personal medi-witch, when they sat down the medi-witch left and was shown out by Dobby. Draco then looks up at their parents worried but Narcissa is quick to reassure him
"Don't worry everything's fine we just wanted to see if we could cancel Gemma's daily boring therapy for today since it's your birthday"
Draco looked up excited and then in unison he and Gemma ask
"Really?"
Lucius smirks
"Yes but she wants you to do a bit more of your 'fun' Therapy instead"
Draco jumps up in excitement and Gemma claps her hands twice asking
"More Quidditch?"
"Yes Gemma but first you both must get ready the guests for your party will be arriving soon"
Gemma nods her head whilst Draco replies "Yes Father" as they make their way up to their rooms to get ready for the evening party.
After putting on the mint green off the shoulder skater dress that her mother left out for her Gemma sat down at her dressing table and slipped on some mint green flats
"Dobby"
Said house elf appears and bows
"Yes Young Mistress Gemini"
After a pause struggling to get her words out she reaches towards Dobby signalling for his hand and tracing on his hand
"Dobby will bring yous mistress Narcissa Dobby will"
He then disapparates and apparates back into the room with Narcissa as Gemma grabs her hair. Narcissa then brushes her daughters hair gazing into the mirror, she then styles it with magic into a half up half down style with wavy curls. She stands Gemma up and twirls her around
"Perfect"
Dobby then appears with a crack
"The first guests are due to arrive in 2 minutes Mistress'"
Gemma claps her hands twice and Narcissa dismisses Dobby as they make their way to the front entrance meeting Lucius and Draco on the way linking arms as the entrance doors open to their first guests Gemma is the first to know who it is
"Zabini's"
Lucius steps forwards with Narcissa on his arm
"Mrs Zabini, Blaise"
Blaise steps forwards kissing Narcissa hand shaking lucius' before repeating with Gemma and Draco as Mrs Zabini makes her way into the ball room and he trails behind as the next guests arrive
"Mr Greengrass, Mrs Greengrass, Daphne, Astoria."
The girls all curtsy as the men shake hands exchanging pleasantries and making their way into the ballroom. This repeated with all the family's that were attending including Crabbe, Goyle, Parkinson, Nott, Bulstrode, Avery, Pucey, Flint, The minister of magic also arrived to celebrate.
As the Malfoy's joined their guests in the ballroom the music started for a slow dance and people grabbed their partners with Draco dancing with pansy and Blaise dancing with Gemma. Gemma taps Blaise's shoulder pointing subtly towards Draco and pansy, Blaise nearly laughs out loud at the look on Draco's face and Gemma claps twice Blaise turns back towards her
"Did you plan this?"
She nods her head saying
"Curtsy"
Blaise raises an eyebrow
"You whispered to her during the curtsy to each other"
she nods her head again
"said Draco"
he smirks
"So all you said is Draco and pansy thought you meant she could dance with him"
she nods her head again a faint Malfoy smirk on her face
"Your an evil genius Gemini Malfoy"
They then switch partners and Gemma ends up with Theodore
"Judging by Blaise's face Draco's demise was your doing?"
She tilted her head and he traces the words on her waist (whilst their dancing so he doesn't have to move his hand) she smirks faintly at him confirming his suspicions before declaring
"Your on my team later"
After a pause she responds
"team?"
"We were told to bring our brooms if we wanted to play quidditch later"
"Quidditch"
she squeezes his hand twice. Then they switch partners again and again until their feet are soar.
Lucius then gets everyone's attention
"Those who have brought their brooms may go outside now, the pitch has been prepared as well as your brooms."
All the children make their way to the gardens whilst the adults resume their conversations.
Out on the pitch we meet Dobby who stands in the middle of the pitch
"Dobby is heres to help Young Mistress Gemma into more suitable clothes"
Draco snaps at the elf
"Get on with it then we want to play"
Dobby cowers before snapping his fingers transforming the skirt of Gemma's dress into trousers all still mint green to look like a jumpsuit with a silk belt around the waist with the top of the dress staying the same to look like an off the shoulder shirt. Dobby then turns to pansy, Daphne and Astoria
"Will Dobby need to change mistress' as well?"
Pansy follows Draco's example and shouts at the elf
"No you stupid elf it is unladylike to play such sport."
Daphne then continues sounding less angry more bored
"The only reason Gemma can play is because it's recommended as part of her therapy"
Draco then jumps in
"Yeah this is part of her 'fun' therapy so leave"
Gemma then gets on her broom
"Dismiss Dobby"
He then bows
"Yes Mistress"
he disappears with a crack and all the children (minus pansy and the Greengrass sisters) push off into the air and gather in a circle around Gemma as Blaise shouts
"Awareness test Gemma!"
She taps her broom twice
"Test?"
Nott flys next to her and taps her hand
"Yeah"
he then moves back to his original position as Gemma points to the person in front of her
"Adrian"
"Correct"
she then moves clockwise around her
"Flint"
"Correct"
"Avery"
"Correct"
"Draco"
"Correct"
"Theo"
"Correct"
"Blaise"
"Correct"
"Crabbe"
"Correct"
"Goyle"
"Correct"
Flint then throws the quaffle at Gemma and she catches it with little effort as he clears his throat
"Ok so two teams of 4 and a impartial keeper."
Avery then raises his hand
"I'm keeper"
Flint continues
"Ok so that means the first team can be Draco, Gemini-"
Blaise And Theo start sniggering and Flint turns to them
"What?"
Blaise then announces
"Not worked it out Draco you were complaining earlier"
Draco looks confused before shooting a betrayed look at Gemma
"You told Pansy to dance with me!"
Gemma claps her hands twice loudly with the Malfoy smirk faintly on her face causing all the boys in the air to start laughing apart from Draco who looks betrayed
"That's it if my teams wins then Gemma has to give me her birthday sweets"
Adrian then raises an eyebrow
"A bet I see, what are your conditions Gemma?"
Gemma tilts her head so he traces on her hand and she answers instantly
"Draco sweets"
the boys laugh again this time including Draco and Avery shouts
"Winning team gets losers teams sweets."
After everyone gets their breath back Flint calls out
"Ok the teams are.
Team Draco:
Chasers: Draco, Flint.
Beaters: Crabbe, Goyle.
Keeper: Avery
Team Gemini:
Chasers: Gemini, Adrian.
Beaters: Theodore, Blaise.
Keeper: Avery
Daphne stands in the middle of the pitch on the ground
"I'll throw it up in 3, 2, 1"
She then whistles and throws the Quaffle up as one bludger is released and the chasers shoot forwards with Gemma grabbing the quaffle and throwing it over Goyle's head to Adrian who flys towards the rings dodging the bludger that was aimed at his head and taking a shot towards the right hoop only for it to be blocked by Avery and thrown to Flint.
Flint then dodges a bludger That was aimed at his out stretched arm before throwing the quaffle to Draco but Draco misses as a bludger flys in front of him hit by Blaise causing the quaffle to be caught by Gemma as she speeds towards the rings aiming for the right but changing her grip and launching it into the left ring as Daphne's voice calls out
"Ten points to TEAM GEMINI"
Gemma claps her hands twice and dodges a bludger aimed by Crabbe which is then redirected by Theodore towards Flint who is hit on his right leg as Draco flys towards the goal again quaffle in hand with Adrian on his tail as he shoots for the middle hoop
"Ten points to TEAM DRACO"
The game continued well into the evening until pansy's voice cut through the field
"We're wanted back inside for the final dance that's starting in a few minutes."
When they were all back on the ground daphne announced the score
"The score was 210:230 with the winning team being ..."
Pansy then impatiently shouts
"Just spit it out already"
"Team GEMINI"
Theo And Blaise then put Gemma on their shoulders with Adrian behind them in case she falls back as they carry her into Malfoy Manor cheering.
When they walk into the ballroom with Gemma still on their shoulders the adults stop their conversations to watch as Mrs Pucey's voice shouts through the room
"Now now stop being so rowdy, you sound like a bunch of Gryffindors"
Adrian apologises for everyone as gemma raises a hand in the air still on the boys shoulders
"Winner!"
Blaise then continues
"Team Gemini won Team Draco by 20 points"
Gemma taps Blaise's head as a thanks as Lucius smirks
"Speaking of the birthday twins, they're starting the final dance"
Gemma is lowered to the ground as she calls Dobby who bows
"Dress"
"Yes Young Mistress Gemini"
Dobby snaps his fingers and Gemma's jumpsuit changes back to her mint green off the shoulder skater dress and her hair is re done after some of it fell out. Dobby is then dismissed as they all make their way to the dance floor with Draco and Gemini in the middle.
After Draco spins her she traces on his shoulder
"Happy birthday"
Which he returns tracing on her waist as the party and day comes to a close.
