A/N – Whole lotta stuff that I'm not going to go into happened and I just couldn't bring myself to write. I wasn't listening to music to inspire me either. I really wanted to get this done, so I apologise if it seems forced.
I do have a similar project set up, not sure when I'll start it.
14. Easy to Love
Jack stood in the doorway to his office watching Ianto at the coffee machine. Despite Jack's insistence, Ianto had only stayed home for a few days following the incident with the cannibals. Jack could see the lingering ache and stiffness that Ianto tried to hide as he moved.
Sighing, Jack stepped back into his office to wait for his coffee. The easy rapport he had developed with the welsh man before Lisa hadn't fully returned. Of course, there were some witty comments, but nothing like it was before.
And that quip about Lisa being Ianto's last snog when Gwen started that stupid campfire game… well that was just spiteful. Jack thought as he flopped down into his chair. After Lisa, he and Ianto had never really gotten a chance to talk. Jack found himself wondering if there had ever actually been anything between them, or if it was all lies. He hated to admit that, at least on his side, there had been real feelings there. He knew Ianto had read up on him, probably knew more about the captain than the rest of the team. Yet, the younger man hadn't discussed it or told the rest of the team.
The captain watched through the windows as Ianto moved through the hub handing out coffee mugs (tea for Tosh, of course). There was something about the young man that got under Jack's skin… in a good way.
Ianto knocked lightly as he entered Jack's office with the familiar blue and white striped mug.
"How's the paperwork going, sir?" He asked with a wry grin glancing at the untouched piles on Jack's desk. He placed the mug down on the edge of the desk.
Jack smiled back. "As well as it always goes."
Jack picked up the mug and took a sip. The things Ianto could do with a coffee machine.
"Ianto." Jack called, causing the younger man to turn in the doorway.
"Yes, sir?"
Taking a deep breath, Jack decided to make a move. "If you've got time later, I could use some help with this." He gestured to the piles on the desk.
Ianto smiled, that oh so wonderful smile. "Of course, Jack. I'll see what I can do." Then turned and stepped out of the office.
Jack's grin widened and he leaned back in his chair. Oh, yes, he thought. It would be so easy to love Ianto Jones.
End
And there we go. Finished.
Reviews are love
I do have another similar project started. With how things are, not sure when I'll get started. We'll see.
Thanks, so much to those who have followed and reviewed.
