Kirito wakes up in a classroom, with nobody else there. He stands up and walks out.
Kirito: Guess I'll head home, then.
He walks through the corridor, lost in thoughts.
Kirito: It's like... there's something I need to do right away.
As leaves, he takes a walk to the train station, and hops on a train.
Conductor: Next, last stop, Hon-Kawagoe, Hon-Kawagoe.
He gets out of the train after reaching the destination. He then passes by a TV showing a commercial of Sword Art Online.
TV: In 2022, mankind finally built a full virtual environment.
At night, he arrives near his home, and then...
Familiar Voice: Kirito...
Kirito: Huh?
He looks down a back alley, to see some familiar faces. The Moonlit Black Cats.
Kirito: *Gasp* Sachi!
Meanwhile...
Super Sonic: Hragh!
Sonic strikes PoH with his Twin-Spin attack.
PoH: Gah!
Super Sonic: Guess what, PoH! We go into Main-Con and we're kicking you and your friends out!
PoH: Go ahead! I'll still come after you guys anyway!
Super Sonic: Oh, no you won't! Because after we kick you guys out, we're throwing you in jail with XaXa and Johnny Black!
PoH: Oh, so you got them. Heh. Gotta say, that Death Gun thing they put on was quite a show. Well, who cares. I'm gonna make sure that Kirito wakes up, and then we can all settle this.
Super Sonic: Oh, you don't have to worry about that! We'll wake him up somehow! But unlike you, I ain't some murderer. I show PKer's no mercy!
PoH: That obvious?
Weiss: So that's Sonic...
Pyrrha: I can't believe how well he fights. It's no wonder why he's the fastest thing alive.
Ruby: I'm pretty fast myself, but my semblance doesn't compare to Sonic's speed.
Yang: Oh, you sure?
Ruby: Seriously. If me and Sonic did a race, there's no way I would beat him.
LLENN: Yeah. I think I can agree about my speed as well. No way I can beat Sonic.
Blake: So that man is Laughing Coffin's leader?
Asuna: Yes. He is. And it looks like he's trying to accomplish something.
Ren: I've heard stories about that guild. They even appeared in the Complete SAO Incident Report. They've killed more players than you can count on. I even heard about the Death Gun Incident as well. That the one who played as Death Gun himself was actually from Laughing Coffin.
Jaune: Just by looking at him, you can tell how evil he is.
Tails: Don't worry. Sonic always wins. We gotta believe in him. And we gotta believe in Kirito as well. They were the ones who defeated Heathcliff after all.
Super Sonic: So what do you want, PoH?
PoH: I want the black one. Ever since I tried and failed to kill him on Floor 5 of Aincrad, Kirito's been the only guy I want.
Super Sonic: What did Kirito ever do to you? Why do you even hate him?
PoH: Oh no! I don't hate him! I like the guy. In a world full of scums, other than you, he's the only guy I could believe in unconditionally. He never broke down no matter how much I tormented him. Never getting corrupted no matter how much I tempted him, he's always given me hope and joy. That's why... it's unforgivable that he ended up like this when I wasn't around. After I kill you, I'll make sure he wakes up. I don't care how many tens of thousands, I'll kill them!
Super Sonic: You've done more than enough killing. All you've done was put people in sorrow and misery back in Aincrad. I'm not letting you get away with it again!
PoH: I like your spirit. By the way. I know how this world works. All the spilled blood and lost lives here is converted into energy. Back in Aincrad, the stats of my Mate Chopper would go down every time it killed a monster, and the stats would go up if it slashed a player. Here in the Underworld, it's naturally powering up by absorbing human life. On this battlefield, all the lives of the people you took are swirling around, along with the lives of the Japanese fighters they took. If I were to have everyone killing each other, it will flood this place with a lot more life. Once I've absorbed all their life, I'm going to kill every artificial fluctlight in this world. Everyone in the land of darkness, and everyone in the Human Empire. If I do that much, it should wake him up. If he is the Black Swordsman I believe in.
Super Sonic: You're a sick maniac, PoH! I won't lose to you! Because I have something way more powerful than your murderous intent!
The golden uses a powerful flurry of spin dashes at PoH. Damaging him and taking away a lot of his life.
Super Sonic: HRAAAAAGH!
PoH: GAHHHH!
With that powerful attack, the leader of Laughing Coffin gets thrown to a wall, unconscious.
Super Sonic: Well, that did it.
Tails: Yeah! You got it!
Charmy: Way to go, Sonic!
He turns back to normal and throws in a big thumbs up.
Sonic: Way past cool!
Yuuki: Hedgehog, one! Evil murderer, zero!
Sonic: That right there was definitely a big victory royale! Good time is had by all!
As they celebrate, PoH's sword starts absorbing sacred power.\
Sortiliena: Oh no! He's still rising!
Sonic: Oh for crying out loud.
He turns back into his super form and charges at PoH.
PoH: Allies! This is the true nature of the Japanese, these spineless traitors, and the false hero, Sonic! Kill them all!
Super Sonic: Not on your life!
Sonic strikes at him a bunch of times.
Red Knight 1: What a load of bunk! You think we'll just listen to a serial killer who led us down the wrong path?
Red Knight 2: Yeah right!
Super Sonic: See? Even they agree!
Meanwhile, back in Kirito's dream, he shows up right by the Moonlit Black Cats in the treasure room, and he notices that he's wearing his SAO equipment.
Kirito: This is my... Huh?
He looks and sees Ducker, about to open the treasure chest.
Kirito: No! Stop! Don't do it!
He runs after them, but he was too late. Ducker opened up the chest, the room turned red, and monsters appeared around them.
Kirito: No. No! NO!
He watches as the Moonlit Black Cats get killed. Ducker, Tetsuo, and Sasamaru.
Kirito: Ah... No... No...!
He tries to reach out for Sachi, but was too late. As she disappeared, Kirito bends down on his knees, breathing heavily.
Keita: You were a beater.
Kirito: Huh?
The leader, Keita looks down to him, at a ledge.
Keita: You never had any right to get involved with us!
He jumps off, committing suicide.
Kirito: AAAHHHHHHHHH!
He covers his ears, screaming in agony.
Kirito: STOP! I DON'T WANT TO SEE ANYMORE!
He recalls the events of tragic moments. The time when Diavel was killed when fighting the first floor boss of Aincrad. The time when he killed Kuradeel, a member of Laughing Coffin. The time when he killed those two Laughing Coffin members when the Assault Team raided their base.
Kirito: No more! I don't want to see anymore!
Tears stream down his eyes.
He then remembers the time he, Sonic, and Tails vanquished Sugou back in ALO.
Kirito: It's nothing compared to the pain you made Asuna feel!
Kirito cuts his hand off.
Sugou: AHHHH! MY HAND!
Sonic and Tails attack him relentlessly, and then, Kirito slices him in half.
Sugou: AHHHHHHH!
Kirito picks him up, looks at him for a moment, and then tosses him up in the air.
Sugou: AHHHH!
A single stab from his sword finishes him off. Then, Kirito recalls the time when he, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Mighty, Ray, and Sinon beat Death Gun in BoB.
Kirito: HRAAAAAGH!
Kirito shoots Death Gun three times, making him turn visible again.
Kirito: This ends now!
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Mighty, and Ray use their spin dash, followed by Knuckles throwing a flurry of punches. Finally, Kirito makes the finishing blow, slicing him in half.
Kirito: Ah... Ah!
?: Kirito.
Kirito: Huh?
Asuna appears before him.
Kirito: Asuna.
?: Kirito.
Then, Sinon.
Kirito: Sinon.
?: Big Brother.
Suguha appears next.
Kirito: Sugu.
?: Hey pal. Don't make me get all the glory around here.
Finally, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Mighty, and Ray appear.
Kirito: You're all here. I... I...
Mighty: You think we're letting one of our greatest friends falter?
Knuckles: It's not like you to back down.
Ray: You never do.
Tails: You're as strong as Sonic, you know.
Sonic: Listen, pal. The hardest thing about being a hero is that you can't always save everyone. But you know what? We aren't going anywhere, no matter what. We're all here for you.
Asuna: We're always connected to you.
Sinon: No matter how far apart we may be. No matter when we have to part ways.
Suguha: Memories and feelings will always stay connected forever. Right?
Kirito: Is it okay for me to stand up?
Sonic: Obviously! I mean, we all would want you to stand up. Even Sachi would want you to stand up.
The hedgehog holds out his hand to Kirito.
Sonic: Let's go, pal. There's still so much to do in so little time.
The Black Swordsman nods his head and holds Sonic's hand. Then, Asuna, Suguha, Sinon, Tails, Knuckles, Mighty, and Ray hold hands with them as well.
Kirito: I don't care how many times I falter. I'll stand up, forevermore.
Meanwhile, Sonic continues to fight PoH.
PoH: You really are a pain in the neck. Still, this is impressive.
Super Sonic: Well, you know me!
Suddenly, some sacred power starts moving somewhere.
Super Sonic: Huh? Wait. Is that?
PoH: Haha! Yes!
The Black Swordsman stands up, carrying his Night Sky Blade in hand.
Super Sonic: No way!
Kirito: Enhance Armament!
Using his Perfect Weapon Control art, he sends PoH flying back. At long last, the hero in black rises and walks ahead.
Super Sonic: Kirito!
Sonic turns back to normal.
Sonic: It's about time!
PoH: Hehehehe! Hahahahaha! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Lisbeth: It's him! He's awake!
Silica: Yes!
Tails: Kirito's awake!
Yuuki: Thank goodness! It's about time!
Rain: I was afraid he would never wake up again.
Yui: DADDY!
Yui starts shedding tears.
Yui: I'm so happy!
Ruby: He's finally awake! Now we get to see the Black Swordsman in action!
Nora: This is gonna be exciting.
Sonic: Mind if I leave him to you, then?
He nods his head. Then, tears come out of Asuna's eyes as she walks toward him.
Asuna: Welcome back, Kirito.
Kirito: I'm back... Asuna.
