Greetings, and welcome to the first ever fight of Clash of Heroes. I am the Ringleader, the announcer for these duels. Our two combatants for this fight are very unique from most other heroes in their worlds. How, you might ask? Well, they can both copy attacks from others. And here they are!
On my left is the soft-spoken rabbit-eared faunus girl from Team CFVY. The camera loving, hologram wielding huntress: VELVET SCARLATINA!
Her opponent on my right is one of the deadliest mercenaries of the Marvel universe. The skull-masked swordsman himself: TASKMASTER!
Now you know our combatants and what makes them special, so without further ado, LET THE BATTLE BEGIIIIIN!
The camera shows the inside of a warehouse. Velvet is seen walking through to a set of crates, unaware of Taskmaster watching from a ledge above.
She holds up her scroll: "Coco, I've found the crates."
"Good," says a voice from the other end, "Get what you can and get out. There's no telling who else will be after this stuff."
Velvet reaches one of the crates, but just as she reaches out to open one, an arrow hits the crate, startling her.
"Can't let you take that, sweetheart." says a voice. Velvet whip around as Taskmaster drops down in front of her. "You see, someone's paying me real big money for what's in that crate, and I always deliver."
"Please, I don't want any trouble." Says Velvet.
"Then step aside."
"I can't do that either."
Taskmaster pulls out his sword, the blade flares orange with energy: "Your loss, kid." and then rushes forward.
Velvet summons holographic versions Jaune's sword and shield, then raises the shield just in time to counter Taskmaster's sword. As the blasé hits the shield, Taskmaster pulls out a pistol and fires under the shield, hitting Velvet in the gut multiple times. She stumbles back, her aura flaring, but holding up.
Taskmaster draws back a bit, intrigued by this new ability: "So you've got your own personal force field, huh? Well let's see how long it holds out." He lunges forward again, striking with a series of slashes and strikes. Velvet drops the shield and the counters Taskmaster's strikes with her own moves that, thanks to her semblance, she was able to learn from Taskmaster. Taskmaster soon realized what she was doing.
"You can copy too?" he said, "Well now things just got interesting."
He rushes forward with his sword. Velvet, anticipating another flurry of attacks, switches the holograms to Penny's sword pack and multiple blades come out. In ready position. Taskmaster sees this, and smoothly switches to his bow, launching an arrow at Velvet. The holographic blades intercept the arrow, but it explodes, sending Velvet flying back into another stack of crates. Velvet struggles to get u, her aura still holding but weak after the blast. Taskmaster charges forward, ready to finish it off in hand to hand. Velvet notices this, and the switches the holograms to Yang's Ember Celica Gauntlets, getting into brawler position. Taskmaster analyzes this as he approaches: A brawler position, nothing I haven't handled before, I just need a little more speed. Just as Velvet throws a punch, Taskmaster flips over her head. Landing behind her, he bares his vibranium claws, his counter to Black Panther, and then strikes from behind in a ferocious series of slices and kicks. Velvet had almost no time to react and is pummeled by the attack. As Taskmaster deals a final kick to her head, her aura breaks and she is sent sprawling to the ground. Taskmaster slowly walks up, anticipating a swift finish.
"I'll admit," he grabs Velvet and holds her up by her shirt, "You actually kinda gave me a hard time, not many people can do that. Sadly for you though, this is where it ends."
Velvet looks back at Taskmaster and smirks: "Not quite yet."
Suddenly, Taskmaster is sent flying backwards as Velvet pulls the trigger on Magnhild's grenade launcher form. Velvet is sent stumbling back from the explosion, but she survives. Getting back up, she runs for the target crate. Taskmaster recovers quick and lands on his feet. Then seeing Velvet run for the crate, he holds up a remote detonator: "You're not the only one who can pull a trick like that." and presses the button.
Just then, the small bomb that Taskmaster had planted on Velvet's shirt when he lifted her up, detonates, Velvet flies back, her side bloodied and her arm gone from the blast. Taskmaster walks past Velvet and to the crate. Opening it, he sees the vials of hard light dust inside. Taking one of the vials, he looks behind him at Velvet's dying form. He walks up to her, twirling one of his arrows
"You put up a good fight." He said, "I'll make this quick for ya."
Then, he takes the arrow and rams into her head, ending it. Taking multiple Dust vials, he turns to leave. Walking out of the warehouse he pulls out a phone: "This is Taskmaster. Package is secure. I'm on my way."
KO!
Next Up:
"One of the past's deadliest hunters arrives."
VS
"This creature is a combination of two of the deadliest hunters to ever walk the Earth."
In a split screen shot, two reptilian heads, one black and one orange, are seen roaring, with the orange one breathing fire mid-roar.
Riptor (Killer Instinct) vs Indoraptor (Jurassic World).
Author's Note: This was close, but you probably saw this outcome coming. Velvet definitely had a versatile enough arsenal to keep Taskmaster on his toes, and her copying semblance would definitely have caught him off-guard. However, Taskmaster is a far more experienced fighter, a master tactician, and is skilled enough to counter every single one of the Avengers, except perhaps Doctor Strange. Velvet's biggest advantage was her aura, which let her take hit without taking damage, but it does have a limit, and Taskmaster would more than likely have broken that limit before Velvet could have done anything truly damaging to him. Plus, he could counter her skills too.
