Chapter 2
Rockets
I woke up startled by a loud boom that seemed to come from below and the room shook. I immediately shot out of bed and found Grace doing the same.
"Masa up come on something's up downstairs." I said waking my sleepy partner who grumbled angrily at being awoken. The ant pit got up begrudgingly and I picked him up before leaving the room.
Gary and Trevor we're headed our way just a bit down the hall. "You two ok?" Gary asked as they stopped next to us.
I gave a nod and Grace spoke up. "Just a bit startled and tired but we're fine. We should go check out what the trouble is though."
Everyone gave a nod of agreement and we quickly ran down the hall followed by two other trainers that had stayed the night. We rushed downstairs and stoped as we came across a cloud of thick green smoke.
"Pidgey, come on out and use gust on that smoke!" Gary shouted as his Pokémon appeared in a red light. The pidgey gave a trill as it flapped its wings sending a gust of air at the smoke and dispersing it.
Where the smoke had been were two people and three Pokémon. "Well look at what we have here James, more runts have come to play!" Tha female with the Magenta hair said.
"Looks like there might be some valuable Pokémon here after all. A Bulbasaur would be quite the catch." The blue haired man said with a smirk.
"Meowth! There's a Trapinch to! That's quite rare and fully evolved. They are very powerful. Meowth."
The group stopped and all our eyes turned to the talking Pokémon in surprise. "Did that Meowth just talk? Awesome!" Trevor said excitedly, causing us all to sweatdrop.
We were drawn out of our surprise when someone ran into the room behind the Rockets. It was Ash along with a girl with orange hair.
"Looks like we have a full house so why don't we get this party started!" Someone in our group said as Pokémon began to appear in flashes of red.
I spotted Gary's, Graces and Trevors starters along with a Growlithe and a Pidgeotto from the other two trainers that were with us. Masa escaped my grasp and joined them.
"Ekans! Poison Sting!" The woman said. "Koffing poison gas attack!"
The Koffing immediately sprayed a poisonous gas into the air and we quickly covered our mouths.
"Pidgey! Pidgeotto! Gust attack!" Both Gary and the other boy commanded in muffled voices. The two flying types quickly complied and pushed the gas back towards the Rockets.
"Masa laser Focus then follow it up with Astonish!" I commanded my partner. The ant pit Pokémon immediately concentrated on his opponents and while he did that two sets of ember shot towards the Rockets and their Pokémon followed by a razor leaf attack and a bubble attack.
The Rockets were pushed back even more. After the attacks hit Masa was ready and he cried out in a startling fashion. I was quite satisfied with him. The Laser Focus we used guaranteed a critical hit and not only did Astonish cause some damage but it could also cause a Pokémon to flinch.
"Masa Sand attack on Ekans and Koffing!" I said. Masa immediately hurled sand at it's target's face, reducing the their accuracy.
"Petal use string shot and slow them down!" Grace yelled out as her yellow Caterpie appeared next to Masa and it shot stick webs at the Rockets.
"My HAIR! ITS IN MY HAIR!" Jesse steamed angrily. "Why you little bug! I'll tear you apart!"
"Not a fat chance, old lady! Squirtle let's help her clean up, use water gun!" Gary said to his partner. Squirtle complied with a grin as he shot Jesse, soaking her.
Jesse was looking at the ground, her wet and stick hair draped around her face like a vale. An angry Energy was off emanating off her in waves and her companions flinched as she raised her hair and glared at us.
"You stupid worthless brats! I'll make you regret the day you were born, I'll skewer you along with your Pokémon! Ekans use poison sting on those brats!"
The snake Pokémon didn't hesitate to shoot the poisonous needles of energy at the trainers.
"Pidgeotto counter it with gust attack, don't let those needles through!" One of the strangers with us commanded his Pokémon.
I was glad he had a stronger flying type than the others Pidgey, a Pidgey wouldn't have the power to counter the needles.
Jesse seemed really frustrated as her Pokémon's Attack was repelled and she growled at us.
By this point the Rockets were seriously outnumbered. Their Pokémon were definitely stronger than ours but they couldn't keep up white our numbers and we continued to push them back but we stopped when ash in his friend came out from the back with a pikachu on a stretcher right behind the Rockets.
"Ash you idiot look out!" Gary shouted as the Rockets noticed them. Immerse rockets attacked the two trainers but right as they were about to reach Ash, his Pikachu used a thundershock which was amplified by ash... riding a barbecued bike.
There was a huge flash and I covered my eyes and after a few moments I opened them to complete chaos. There was a giant hole in the buildings roof and rubble lay everywhere, thankfully it didn't look like anyone was hurt.
I gave a sigh before I turned to my partner. He was visibly upset and I couldn't blame him. As he knew he wasn't too powerful and couldn't do much yet. Even as one of the faster growing dragon evolutionary lines he would still grow slowly compared to most Pokémon.
I sighed as I knelt I front of him and I rubbed his head reassuringly. "Don't worry Masa, we'll get stronger together." I said.
The ant pit Pokémon was quite but gave a small nod. He felt weak and that angered him. He wanted to be strong to protect his trainer. But here he could only do so little. He stared into his trainers eyes and relaxed slightly.
I smiled at him and pulled out my pokeball. "Alright buddy, why don't you gets some rest." I said as I recalled him and strapped my pokeball to my belt.
"I guess we should see if our rooms are still intact." Grace said as she put a hand on my shoulder. "Come on lets go, hopefully it's intact along with our stuff."
I gave a slight nod and we along with the others headed up the stairs a bit cautiously. Thankful most of our rooms only had a few items knocked over from the shaking of the building during the fight.
"Dang it's already three am, looks like we won't be getting much shut eye." I said as I sat on my bed across from Grace.
"I know, I was so looking forward to a long rest and I wanted to use the shower here but apparently it's been destroyed." She said with a sigh of disappointment.
"Well I guess you'll have to live with it, as a trainer we spend most of our time on the road." I said as I stared up at the ceiling. "You know I think just now I'm realizing that we are actually trainers now."
"I know, it feel like yesterday we were worlds away from being trainers and now here we are and we just beat some team Rocket goons." She said with a small smile.
"Right but I don't think those guys are actually a threat compared to the other Rockets out there so we shouldn't be fighting everyone we see or we might just lose our lives." I said as I looked at her.
"I know but do the boys know, you know what they can be like." She said with a small chuckle.
"I know, but if they insist on playing hero I'll kill them myself." I smiled wickedly and cracked my knuckles.
"Sometimes you scare me." Grace said with an exasperated sigh causing me to laugh.
"Alright we should probably get at least a hour or so of rest. Good night"

I must say thank you all that have been reading this. I am completely New to writing and it's been a bit difficult with me being dyslexic but so far I have absolutely enjoyed writing this. I'm hoping to release at least two chapters a day over at least 1k words. I'll try for chapter around 4K though but we will see.
Because this is my first fanfic I will probably one day redo this fanfic with more details and such as I get better at writing. Again thank you so much.
Also I'm interested in eventually giving Saber an actual Traveling companion but I'm not sure yet. I might be doing small polls in the next few chapters or if anyone has OC's they want in this I might consider.
