Chapter 6
Bark and Bite
To say I'm pissed is an understatement, no I wasn't pissed I was absolutely furious. My friend had been hurt and to me that was a challenge. No one hurt my friends Without being bitten by the dragon.
We had looked for over an hour in the city and we were currently walking to a restaurant that Grace said she saw someone that looked like Lira enter the building.
We would probably get in trouble if we went inside and started a fight in the place so we waited outside. It didn't take too long before the girl came out followed by a boy.
The girl was absolutely stunning. She had vibrant vanilla hair that was long and wavy and her eyes were a deep Magenta. She wore a magenta long sleeved dress shirt with a pink Tank top underneath and she had a short black skirt and black leggings.
The boy behind her must have been the kid Grace had seen. The boy seemed to be her lacky, he was carrying a pink hand bag and a black hat in his arms. The boy was simple, he had short brown hair and hazel eyes and he wore a green long sleeve and black pants.
The girl spotted us or more so Grace and she smiled sweetly as our two groups approached each other. We stopped a few feet apart and waited in awkward silence for someone to start the conversation. After a moment the girl tilted her head and gave an innocent face.
"So you're the Rookie four that are supposed to lead the next great generation, Oaks family and prized students minus one of course." She said as she scanned over us with glittering eyes.
It wasn't hard to tell how she meant, Ash was supposed to be part of the next great wave as many called it but he ended up the last in class and as I've said before the kid was stupid and only had stupid lock on his side otherwise I didn't think Oak would send the boy with a Pokémon on a journey.
Rumors were about Oak only letting the boy travel because he owed to the boy's mother and his late father. But it was just a rumor and Oak did like the boy, Ash was a cheery kid.
"So what do I owe the pleasure of this fine visit?" She asked.
"This isn't a pleasure visit Lyra, we're here because of what you did." Trevor said bitterly.
"He's right, we're here on business not pleasure talk." I said with a deep scowl.
"Boo, and here I thought we were making friends." She said as she straightened up and her eyes hardened. "Ok then, I'm guessing little grass girl cried Mightyena on me now didn't she. She's more pathetic than I thought, going and telling all of her friends because she can't defend herself from little ol me." The girl said with an exaggerated pouting face.
"You're really looking for a beating aren't you girl." I growled as I took a step forward.
"Saber, we're in public. It's best if you don't beat her or we'll be making more of a scene than we already are." Gary said as he placed a hand on my shoulder.
I glanced back at him and then around our group and people were watching us a bit tensely. I gave a growl but pulled in my Temper but I put my hand over Masa's pokeball just in case.
"Good job on keeping your Houndoom on a leash there." Lyra laughed causing the boy to give her a sharp look.
The boy next to Lyra tensed and finally spoke up, "Lyra we're making a scene, remember what your brother said?"
Lyra turned on the boy and glared, "Leon isn't here so why should I care!" She growled at him causing the boy to flinch and look away.
"That's what I thought now back to what I was saying. So let's get this straight, I told little grass girl a few words and she blew it up. That's why you're here and obviously you're being manipulated by her, I was only giving her advice and told her she wasn't using a good strat so now that it's settled I'll be going, I have better things to do than play with you four." She said as she moved forward.
"Not so fast there, I know Grace wasn't lying so you better apologize or I'll beat it out of you." I said as I stepped in her way and grabbed her shirt.
She glared at me as we stared down, silver and magenta meeting with sparks. After a few moments though her eyes left mind and she seemed to be looking behind me. I was about to tell her to pay attention but she smiled at me before calling out.
"Officer! Officer! Please can you help me, these kids are bullying me!"
I immediately dropped her in surprise. "You kids better back off or you're all staying the night at the police station." An officer Jenny said as she approached angrily.
Lyra quickly got up to her feet and gave a scared look. "Officer thank you so much if you hadn't come they were probably going to beat me, especially her!" She said pointing to me.
"That's it! You are so dead!" I said as I lunged at the girl which didn't help our case. I was immediately pushed away and I felt my arm behind my back in a painful position causing me to wince. I headed the familiar release of a Pokémon and Lyra screamed as Masa formed in front of me and growled angrily. He snapped his jaws making a in a threatening way and I could see the Officer was about to call out her partner.
"Masa! Back down now!" I forced out even though I wouldn't mind if he took a few nights out of the girl but I knew now was not the time.
The ant pit Pokémon hesitated and glanced at his trainer. He could feel her anger towards the smelly one that he was currently threatening so he didn't understand why she didn't let him attack. He was also a bit worried about the human that held his own but apparently his partner didn't have any fear or anger for the taller human so he didn't really worry.
Jenny, holding my arm used her free hand quickly as she noticed my Pokémon stop it's attack and she grabbed the first pokeball on my belt and returned Masa in a red light.
"Ok now tell me what's going on here?"
"Officer please stop, my friend was only defending me." Grace called out.
"Yea Grace here was bullies and we came to talk but she started to insult us." Trevor added by his sister.
"Is this true?" Jenny asked as she turned to Lyra and the boy that was helping her up. The boy glanced away not wanting to be involved but Lyra was seething in anger.
"They're lying! I just got done with lunch and when they saw me come out they attacked!"
Jenny sighed and I felt her release my arm. I rubbed my arm gingerly, my skin was slightly red from her holding it so tightly.
"Officer please let these kids go, this was just a small argument and I'm sure it won't happen again." Someone said behind us causing us all to turn. There walking towards us was Brock.
"Brock! But they were causing a scene" Jenny said.
"I know but they are only kids and fights happen all the time and thankfully no one was hurt here so please let them off with a warning.
Jenny sighed and glanced at us all before giving a small nod, "I'll let you off this one time but if this happens again you're all staying the night at the station." With that she Left and we turned to Brock.
We all thanked him before he left, leaving us alone on the street. When we turned back to where Lyra had been she was no longer there, not to our surprise and we all headed back to the center.
It was already evening by the time we got there and we talked for a good hour before heading to bed. During our talk it was decided Gary and Trevor would leave in the morning and me and Grace would head out after I beat the gym.
We planned to meet at the Cerulean City pokemon center where we could all go to the gym together. If things went as planned we would stay at Cerulean city for a few days before we would all travel together to the next gym.

Shoutouts!!
Crystal blue butterfly - thank you so much for the awesome comments! I really love reading them and I'm glad you find them a bit unique. And I totally agree that Gary doesn't get enough love. He's one of my favorite characters and I just couldn't not make Saber his friend.
