Flash wanted to know, but, you couldn't tell him. Miles was upset at you for choice, yet, he didn't understand. May, understood, but didn't know. None of them, not even Ben. They couldn't...they couldn't find out, only a few knew and it was best to keep it that way.
Yeah.
You mull over your thoughts, cleaning the table at May's. You hadn't left yet, she insisted you stay after the guys left to handle whatever was going on at the academy, that left an unsettling feeling in your stomach that you couldn't quite shake. Which was odd. Back to your thoughts, the others...they just didn't understand and you knew out of them all...who desperately wanted to and yet...despite the rising pain inside from it that burned, you couldn't. He shouldn't have hugged you! He shouldn't!
Getting so close to you, Peter didn't...if he did then...closing your eyes see their face, see that smile curled on their red face with disapproving eyes shaking their head chuckling. You knew what..they meant, even when they held up something in their hand, that caused a single tear to fall from your eye. That was gently wiped away, made you open your eyes.
Find May, standing before you her eyes softly looking into yours. With a soothing smile that matched the hug she pulled you in. Right there you wanted to...to just fall apart and...speak it all. She understood and held you more. Squeezing the tears that wanted to come but you had to refuse them. Even anything that followed with such an emotion. Instead had to silently hold them back and swallow it back down. The only tears you could shed, where for Jewel, they at least allowed that.
God, you hoped...he'd find a way to remove, though his words assured he would..it was agony just...just...
"Shh..."May softly whispered, gently stroking your hair, holding closer. "it's alright. It's alright, it's okay."
Her words touched you, if only you could...could believe them. But, your heart wouldn't allow them to be accepted. It blocked it. Some how May knew and didn't mind. She just patted your back lightly, for a few minutes.
Honestly, it was comforting. May smiled behind you knowing so. "Why don't you help me in the kitchen," she suggested letting you go. Taking your hands in hers, giving them a soft squeeze. "you've cleaned the table so well, I might think its a mirror."
She joked with a small laugh, you joined her. Nodding. "Yes, of course. Sorry." Follow her into the kitchen, there were just the dishes that needed to be dried and put away. Otherwise nothing else.
Walking over to the sink, pick up wet dish, "Here," May handed you a towel.
"Thank you," you take it and start drying.
Coming to your side, May picked up a dish and started drying. The two of you, stand by each other in silence, that was comforting minus the feeling in your stomach that wouldn't stop.
"Something on your mind?" May asked, taking notice of your hazed pained gaze.
Sighing, stop drying set the dish to the side, close your eyes for a moment...open them try to find the right words to say. "There," you inhale for a moment, the words where there...they just...they just didn't want to come. So your forced them in a way. "there's always a lot on my mind. That weigh heavily, some times...I wonder if my emotions are misplaced. If..maybe...it's okay." You mumble to the side. "I'm fine."
Picking up the dish, finish drying it, and set it to the side. "You know," May spoke dispersing the silence that had filled. "just because something seems misplaced doesn't mean it can't be placed back. Even if its with something new, and that heavy weight you feel it's okay to let that down or let someone help you with it."
You scoff inside from her words.
"I make it sound easy, don't I?" she spoke the words in your thought, earning a nod from you. "You know," she chuckled a bit. To herself. "what you said and how you feel, it's the same with Peter. Before he stopped doing the solo thing as Spider-man, before, well..."she paused for a moment, smiled to herself. "he meet you-"
Your heart stopped.
May continued. "-and the others. Peter balanced nearly everything himself. But, when he started opening more and allowing others to help him well, things became easier. Now, I'm not sure what is it that you have to carry or what you're afraid to share, but know this," she turned you to her. "whatever it is, you've got people who love you who will help you. No matter what it was you did or feel you've lost." Your heart leaped, did she know? "By lost I mean, Jewel, I know it's been hard on you and the same with Peter. Both of you are handling it in your own way. But," she took your hands in hers. "trying to handle this misplaced emotion or emotions differently instead of together isn't good for anyone. I know you're moving forward, but, right now you need to handle this together. Honestly, you both need each other more than you know."
Her words hit, hit hard, your heart stung. She felt in the trembling of your hands and saw you trying to fight it back. Saw it in your pained eyes that wanted to scream but didn't. "I understand, what you're saying," you began. Push through the trembling of your words. "but, like you said. I'm moving forward and well, I can't remain in the past forever. I know me and Peter are dealing with this on our own, with Jewel. Just the same I am with my uncle, my family has been missing for some time and I'm not sure where they are. Honestly, I believe it's best that Peter doesn't remain with me, I've lost more than my fair share with him in it...and.."you bite down, hold it back.
"-Are you happy?" May asked, you look at her...she repeated herself. "Are you happy, Kylie?"
Her question repeated itself in your mind, happy...happiness...where you...actually? The more your mind lingered on it, you saw their face...the smile that curled on their lips and shaking their head and a finger, while holding clenched in their other hand something...something warm and bright that desperately wanted to be free. That...hollow feeling...it...something was missing and... you knew why.
It was the price that needed to be paid so that you could...another tear formed, ready to fall...when you and May heard a faint noise coming from the living room. You look to her, she looked to you. Neither of expected someone here, the door was locked after all...so...
Stepping before May, keeping her behind you, though you insisted she stay behind. She went with you, walk slowly, ears alert, eyes sharp and reflexes ready to strike. Inching closer and closer, that unsettling feeling came back, ignoring it. Right now wasn't the time...nearing closer raise a sharp hard ready to strike...step out...strike!
Stop once you see who it was, to May and your surprise.
"Ben?" you exclaimed, lower your strike. "W-What are you doing here?"
Sorry it's short.
I have a question for everyone would you like me to do the newest cartoon Marvel's Spider-Man where Peter goes to Horizon, with Kylie in it?
