Annabeth was confused. She had opened her locker to drop off her textbooks, and was wondering if she had enough time to stop by the candy shop to grab a caramel apple. When she noticed that sitting right in the center of her locker was a caramel apple, and it was the exact kind that she ordered when she went to the store. A gala apple, half dipped in chocolate half in caramel. She wondered who had put it there. It was probably just a random person handing them out, either way she took it, happy she didn't have to spend any money.
The next day she opened her locker and found a box of chocolates, it looked custom and it was all the one she liked. Again it was from the candy store, Sweet on America. Now she was curious because she didn't have many friends, and none of them would buy quality candy for her two days in a row. The only person she could think of that knew she liked this stuff was the kid who worked there, Percy Jackson. He went to Goode with Annabeth and they worked together on a couple of projects, but they never really talked. A small part of her hoped it was him, but she knew that it was irrational. So she shoved all thoughts down and focused on her chocolate.
This went on for a couple of months, she would find some type of sweet in her locker, with no clue who it came from. She started to long for the end of the day. The biggest surprise was when she opened her locker and there was a small note accompanying the bar of chocolate.
Dear Annabeth
I hope you don't mind me doing this. I am doing this until I get the courage to talk to you or you ask me to stop, whichever comes first. In case it wasn't obvious I really like you, I just don't know how to tell you. Someday though, someday I promise you will know me, and you can judge for yourself.
She was surprised that he had written, but was pleased. He continued to write, just small things like jokes, or compliments. She was hoping that he would reveal himself soon. One day however it all came crashing down.
The day it came crashing down was the day Luke Castellan asked her out on a date. Luke was a popular guy who was handsome and really nice. Annabeth decided to go for it, it couldn't hurt. So they went out for coffee and it was nice. However the next day when Annabeth went to her locker there was nothing in it. Call her selfish but she was a little disappointed. She figured that her admirer was sick or something. The next day there was nothing, and the next, and soon a week went by with nothing. Annabeth was a little mad and Friday when she saw a note in her locker she was expecting it to be an apology, she was shocked by what it was.
Dear Annabeth
Well this is awkward. First off I'm sorry that I assumed you felt the same way as I do. I should have figured you were too nice to tell me, or you really like the candy. Can't say that I blame you. In case you're wondering I stopped the candy because I figured that since you are with Luke, you would want them to stop. Anyway I wish both of you good luck.
Annabeth was saddened, her admirer, who she had grown a crush of, thought she was with Luke, and she had no way of telling him that she wasn't. She decided to go to the candy shop and figure out a way to fix this. However when she got there Percy looked really stressed.
"Are you okay" she asked.
"Oh Annabeth, thank god." He said "I need a favor."
"What?" she asked tentatively.
"I need you to hold down the counter while I run out." he all but pleaded
"Sure"
"Thank you so much," he said, then sprinted out the door.
As Annabeth walked behind the counter she saw that Percy had left his laptop open and was typing something. Being the Nosey person she is she decided to take a look. What she saw was not what she expected. The last paragraph was the note she had gotten from her admirer and the one above it read
Dear Annabeth
I've finally got the courage. I was hoping that you would like to meet up for coffee on Saturday. I would really like to get to know you better.
Percy

He was going to reveal himself to her, but he thought that she was with Luke. She heard the door open and leapt away from his laptop.
"Everything okay?" He asked
"Uhh, yeah." She squeaked
She ran to the bathroom to collect herself. After that she decided that she was just going to tell Percy she would love to go out for coffee.
She marched out of the bathroom but as she got closer to Percy her courage melted. WHen she finally got to the counter she barely managed to squeak out "Doyouwantogetsomecoffeewithme?"
"Umm what." Percy asked, perplexed
Taking a deep breath she tried again "Do you want to get some coffee with me."
"What about Luke" he asked, confused
"We aren't together. He's a nice dude but I don't like him like that."
"Really" he sounded so hopeful.
"Yeah, I have to pay you back for all the sweets right?" she said, worried about hos reaction that she knew.
His smile could have lit up a city.
This is just a crappy one that I thought of, based off of The Letter Boy. It came to me while I was in the middle of eating a apple.
