Chapter 2 : Jealousy
Star took Marco by the wrist and ran home. "Woah Star what's the rush?" Marco asked while they finally stepped in front of the house door. "Marco this is a situation of life and nachos." Star answered almost in a yell. Marco and Star's gazes met before the two burst out laughing. In the kitchen Marco was alone, Star sat on the couch and you could guess what she's watching yeah you got it 'Space Unicorns', he was smiling and making nachos. He started singing the space unicorns theme song unknowingly and Star noticed. She blushed as she sneaked up on him from behind and at the same time he sang she sang aswell. "Space unicorns soaring through the stars. Delivering the rainbows all around the world!" This cause Marco to flinch, Star went and hugged him from behind blushinga deep shade of red but hiding her face in his back.
The color of her cheeks almost matched the color on his hoodie. "You know Marco, I saw you and Jackie today and I got this feeling and I don't know what it is." Star said softly, vulnerable. The blush started creeping up Marco's face. "What kind of feelings Star?" Marco asked, Star's grip tensed up a bit before she stuttered "W..Well I felt lonely and I..I m..missed you at tha..that moment even though you we..were standing right the..there." Marco felt the heat crawl up his face, he turned around turning the hug from behind into them being in each other's arms. "Star we're just friends." Star Butterfly beoke down at hearing that she ran up stairs to her room, slammed the door shut and started crying. It struck Marco that that had come out wrong. With the nacho bowl in his hand he went to her room and knocked. He could hear her crying and he lightly clutched the piece of cloth in front of his heart. A few minutes passed before he knocked again "Go away Marco." Star yelled from her room "Please Star can we talk I really need to tell and ask you something." Marco pleaded. "No!" Star screamed. In an attempt to better his chances he playfully said "I brought nachos." A moment of silence passed before he heard a sigh "fine" as the door opened revealing a crying Star. He went in and sat on the bed, he set the bowl down next to where Star was sitting but she didn't eat any nachos. She just sat there with her knees to her chest and her head buried between her knees and her chest. "I'm sorry Star but what I said came out totally wrong, I meant Jackie and I are only just friends." Star's head rose slowly to reveal her crying face. Marco put his hand on her cheek and wiped the tear from her face "I didn't mean to hurt you Star, I'm sorry." Star only blushed subduing her tears and then asked Marco "You said you had a question?". Marco's smile dropped slightly, if she hadn't paid attention she wouldn't even have noticed. "Why are you acting like this if you have a crush on Oscar, and when I saw you two together it hurt. I don't know why it hurt but it did, so I went back to Jackie just to talk untill you and Oscar were finished and then Jackie told a funny joke and we all laughed then she almost fell laughing and grabbed onto me causing us to laugh even more."
"I went to say hello to Oscar and who said I had a crush on him, and I don't know why I'm acting like this Marco I just am." Star told Marco. Marco's smile lifted a bit, blush grew on his face, he then went to hug Star. Returning the hug both of them bawled their eyes out. Somehow their hands got locked together subconsciously. When the hug ended they laid on the bed holding hands, both blushing immensely. Both at the same in time in unison jumped up and said "Hey Star/Marco" both of them then stopped and Marco said "You first" Star took both Marco's hands in hers and inhaled deeply before letting it all out. "Marco I dont like Oscar, I like you but I know you don't feel the same way about me and even if you did Jackie is still the better choice and if we started dating my parents would disapprove and we'd have to cut ties and then I'll never get to see you again and... and... and." Marco hushed her pulling her into a hug rubbing her back "Star you're the one I like, I mean you're really pretty with your beautiful blond hair, astonishing deep blue ocean eyes, those cute little hearts on your face and your always fun, the adventures we go on whether it's on Earth or Mewni it's always fun and I have had a cruah on you since we met, I tried to forget about these feelings but they only got stronger." Star shoved Marco onto his back on the bed and she was sitting on top of him, her hands held his cheeks as she leaned closer and kissed him.
Marco, shocked, his mind flooded with thoughts, butterflies filled his stomach, a dark red shade was plastered all over his face. Before long Star moved away from the kiss blushing just as brightly as Marco. Marco then lift her up and put her back to the bed, now it was his turn, he kissed Star. The air around them became hot. It was a long passionate kiss, her lips were warm, soft and tasted of bubblegum and mint. He could hear his heart beat in his ears. A sudden need for air stopped the kiss, both blushing both breathing heavily. Marco took her hand in his, kissed it and then locked his hand with hers. Star's stomach started grumbling, Marco then put the bowl of nachos on her bedside table. Star wolfed down all the nachos she could. "Hey Star it's getting kinda late, I should be getting to bed, it's school tomorrow you know." Marco said yawning and then kissing her forehead. "Marco could you please stay the night again I'm afraid I'll get that dream again." Star asked sweetly, she didn't want to be alone. Marco was quiet for a moment until he spoke up. "b..but what if I... you know... do it again you know... the same as this morning." he was blushing madly, he was embarrassed. Star just smile while thinking of what happened "it won't happen again silly" she said giggling. Marco went to go and get the chair again aswell as his pillow, he was gonna make sure it wont happen again. "Marco could you please go out so I can change into my nightgown?" Star asked softly slightly embarrassed. Marco happily walked out and waited for her to call him back inside. It was about 5 minutes before he heard her call him.
He entered her room to find her already in bed waiting for him to tuck her in and tuck her in he did. He then kissed her forehead and said "Good night my rebel princess." andnwith that she fell asleep while holing Marco's hand. Marco however was still wide awake, he still had some thinking to do. "If she has a crush on me and I have a crush on her and we both have a crush on each other what does that leave us as? I mean does that mean we..." Marco's thoughts were interupted by Star's hand suddenly gripping tight.
~In Star's mind~
She was walking and everything was dark, she cast a luminescent spell but to no avail, it was still pitch black everywhere. She then heard his voice again which gave Star goosebumps which Marco could see and he just caressed her arms and back in an attempt to soothe her, the voice said "Well well well, it's funny meeting you here a second time princess, did you miss me that much?" the luminating yellow eyes and insidious smile became more visible to her before it left it said one more thing that would open up a whole new chamber of secrets, her mother's secrets. "Tell queen Moon that I'm coming for her amd that I want what is mine. Tell her Toffee says hi." he then faded with a cynical laugh.
Marco vilently shook Star in order to wake her up, she was sweating nervously, breathing heavily. It was as clear as day that she was stressed and anxious, she was afraid. Marco pulled her into a hug, she clutched onto his jacket with all her might. Her eyes started tearing up which Marco stroked the bacl of her head, comforting her. She was crying, she was afraid. They sat like that for hours. A wet mark was visible on Marco's hoodie but he didn't want to move, Star had just fallen asleep and to move would wake his sleeping beauty.
