"What?" Mike asked as Eleven whipped her bloody nose. " Lucas needs help." Everyone looked at one another. " Do you know where he is?" Max asked. " No." She said sadly. " But is he in the Upside Down?" Will asked. " No. He seemed to be in a room." " A room?" Dustin looked at her with confusion. Eleven nodded her head.
" Well that doesn't give us much to go off of." Max stated, frustrated that they didn't know more. " What if we all go home and figure this out tomorrow?" Dustin suggested, yawning out the last two words. " We all can meet up here in the morning." Mike said as he helped El up from the floor. " Fine. I'll see you all in the morning." Max told the group as she ran up the stairs and out of the basement. " I'm going to go too. See ya tomorrow." Dustin left Mike, El, and Will in the basement all alone.
….
" The cat is missing and my mom wants me to help look for her." Dustin explained to Mike over the phone. " My mom's hysterical right now. We just got this cat and it's already gone." " Okay- Um just stay safe okay." Mike said as he turned towards the group. " Don't worry I will." " Good luck on finding your cat." " Thanks! Bye." "Bye."
Mike hung up the phone and turned once again back to the small group that consisted of Eleven, Max, Will, and himself. " It's just the four of us today. Dustin had to help his mom find their cat." Mike told them. " How did they already manage to lose the cat?" Will thought out loud. " I wish I knew." Mike said as he sat down on the couch next to Will.
El was messing with the walkie again so they could figure out where Lucas was being held. Once El heard the static sound, she placed the device on the table, and placed the handkerchief around her eyes.
She once again ended up in the black void. She started to walk forward and when she didn't see Lucas immediately she started to feel nervous. Someone clearly didn't want her finding him. She continued on her search for quite some time.
" Anything?" Max asked. " No." El responded as something appeared in front of her. " Lucas?" She asked hesitantly. She crept toward the figure. " Lucas?" She said again. "El." He responded. " If you can hear this by some weird chance, they got Dustin." Then he disappeared. " Lucas!" She yelled out as the last wisp of smoke disappeared.
She ripped the handkerchief from her face and looked at the group in fear. " They have Dustin." She told them, her voice wavering. " Who?" Will asked. " I don't know." She said sadly. " Why didn't he just come to us? I'm sure he has a walkie with him." Mike thought out loud. " Maybe he didn't have time to." Max suggested. " Or it's right here." Will said holding up the walkie El had used just moments before. " Shit!" MIke said. " It's my fault. I should have given it back to him last night." Max said. "Well we can't just mope around. El, can you see if you can find Dustin?" Mike asked. " Yes."
She put the handkerchief back on and entered the void. She immediately saw him unlike Lucas. It looked to be a metal cage with brown boxes littered around the room. " Do you see him?" Mike's voice echoed. " Yes. He's in a metal cage with boxes around him." Confusion laced her words. " A truck maybe." Max suggested.
El took the handkerchief off once again. " We're getting nowhere." Eleven stated. " So what are we going to do? Send you to find them again and again. Have you drained yourself everyday?" Mike stated he was frustrated at the situation they were in. " No. Just have the monster or whatever come to us." Max stated. " What! And put us all at risk of being captured or hurt." Will said. " Yeah. It's worth a shot." Max said back. " We just have to stay together. That way we can fight it off together." Mike recommended. " Okay. But I have a really bad feeling about this. " Will told the group. " I think we all do." Max said worry showed in her eyes.
