Chapter 1 Act 2
"Finally I got some sleep," Kiryu sighs to himself as he grabs and checks out a small grocery list of items
"At least I don't need much" Kazuma says as he leaves the motel swinging the door open like someone told him the world was gonna roll him. He strolls his way to the supermarket but notices that there are cameras lurking behind him. Moments later the literal earth is shaking as what seems to be a giant woman in a spandex is rushing his approximate location.
"What do you want?" The former yakuza openly scowling at this inconvenience of a crowd as he says those words.
He cant even hear a word nor reply out a word as the small crowd of journalists and cameramen drown out eachother's dialogue. Irritated of this continues walking as if nothing is happening until.
"GAH!" Kiryu goes flying into the air along with the other journalists. He knew it was going to hurt on the way down and braced himself until, a wooden arm seems to catch them all in one swift and smooth movement.
"What a way to be extra, you could've killed the man!" A man seemingly made of wood scolds at the giantess.
"Wait they flew!?" The woman says, shocked with this news, shrinks down to human size and reveals a cop car was trailing them behind.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry!" The spandex wearing woman says,
"I know you're careful when it comes to using your size but please, don't transform when someone says so in these situations!" As a large man with a strange jaw scolds her.
"What was that?" Kazzy Says confused as to what had just happened.
"I'm so sorry for the inconvenience are you hurt?! Mr…..?" The giantess says in a concerned tone hoping he wasn't hurt at all
The 4th chairman, being 100% sure that he isn't from this world because of all of the strange things he has seen, is comfortable with sharing his name and calmly says
"Kiryu, don't worry im alright"
"Ah- Kiryu-san, would you mind being taken into police custody for now, we heroes would like ask some questions, and for your information, my name is Yu Takeyama or Mt Lady, the man who caught you was Kamui Woods or Shinji Nishiya, and the man standing over there is Death Arms"
"Alright, I also want some of my questions answered too if you don't mind"
They enter the police car with Kazuma cuffed for safe measure
"I wasn't expecting that at all, he was being cooperative and I thought I was about to get clobbered on behalf of those 2" Yu thinks to herself inside the vehicle, noticing Kiryu is fast asleep, realizes that he might be a Yakuza due to his outfit, looks, and tone, and not just the person in the news report the night prior bluffing or exaggerating.
They reach the station and enter the interrogation office, uncuffing Kiryu as they notice his immediate compliance to this entire situation.
"Alright first things first, who are you and where are you from?" A policeman who looks awfully similar to Date stares.
"Kiryu, Kazuma Kiryu, I reside from Kamurocho, I would assume that it isn't the same one here."
The Policeman, gets his IT department to search the database, while death arms is supervising, for someone of that namesake and relations but as that was going on. The other two enter the room and question about who this mysterious person is and what he is about, but before that they have a quick chatter.
"What do you think he does for a living? I mean he cant just beat up punks for money all day though then again he could be a yakuza" Mt Lady openly suggests the idea
"I mean he does look the part, he sort of intimidates me with that face of his. Either way we'll get our answers once Death arms and the IT department ID him." The wood hero adds onto that point
"I am not a Yakuza, I can assure you that" Kiryu replies with a disappointed look on his face.
"Wait he heard us!?" Yu surprised by this
"The room's silent dummy." Nishiya banters in return
Takeyama pouts and crosses her arms before retorting with "Hey!"
"I usually get mistaken as one which causes me to get into fights out of self defense, its been like that for years so don't feel bad." Kazuma calmly says before sighing.
"Wait wait wait just a moment, was that the cause to the pile of bodies you left last night?" Mt lady surprisingly asks with the dots connecting all of the sudden
"Partially true, the other pile of thugs was me intervening because they were sexually harassing and assaulting this poor young lady. The other one were a bunch of punks who thought it would be fun to steal from a random person" The Former Yakuza trying to hide the fact that he was Yakuza openly admits to that.
"So those weren't assault? I took you for the aggressive type to shake down people as you please but it was actually because you cared emough? Though, Kiryu-san did you use your quirk during those assault because we may need to charge you with Vigilantism." The Wooden man curiously asks.
"Before we get to that though, whats with the costumes and this entire 'hero' schtick?" Kiryu, equally intrigued asks that but is quickly met with a loud thud from the door as Death Arms quickly goes to Kiryu and says.
"So you really are not from our world? We'll take a quick x-ray of your foot to see if you have a quirk or not. We've had this happen before but we weren't there to actually check." Death Arms says as he brings Kazzy to the clinic while bringing Yu and Nishiya along because he has other plans for them.
As Kiryu was waiting for his turn in the clinic, Kamui Woods questions him more.
"Back to the point, do you know what a quirk is?" The wooden man asks
"N-no? Is it like minor personality traits that makes a person interesting. I don't think this world uses the same meaning as mine." Kazuma says confusingly as he rubs his chin
"Oh we do it's just that we also gave it another meaning, you want a quick rundown or do you want the mystery to be solved by the doc?" Nishiya says assuringly
"Just give me the rundown" The Dragon of Dojima sighingly says.
"Quirks are supernatural abilities that a person can have, those punks you beat up had them too, and so did the delinquents considering that 80% of the human population has one, they usually manifest at age 4. Mine is full control of my wooden body, Her's is her size, and Death Arms just has strong arms." Kamui Monologues to the man
"I'm somehow not surprised that he doesn't know but, the way those punks describe you, they said you were glowing? Are you sure that was your quirk?" Yu curiously asks as she puts her hand up her chin
"No, I was already doing that in fights before I got here. Its called heat or battle aura. It alters the body a tiny bit but not to the levels you guys described. Back to my question, what's with the costumes?"
"Ohhhh so that explains the glowing, I don't think those were quirks so good news! You aren't charged of unlawful usage of a quirk!" Takeyama joyfully says with her arms up. "And the costumes yeah uhm…. Our job is to be a hero, it lets us use our quirks freely to do heroic things like save people and fight crime! The costumes usually help us use our quirks one way or another, other times its just for show." She explains this with a passion until the speaker goes.
"Kiryu-san, you're up!"
Kazuma hearing this, stands up and walks his way into the clinic. Chatter picks up between the three heroes waiting for his appointment to be done.
"So… Once this entire thing is done, who's the one willing to pick him up for a couple of weeks, he's flat out broke and cant really get a job considering he literally has no credentials. So who's takin the big guy? Nishiya?" Death Arms, out of concern and pity out of Kiryu asks the other two.
"I can't really keep him in track, I'd suggest Yu since she's the one to first make a proper introduction. You up?" Shinji, trying to goad her into taking him into care
"Sure." Takeyama says assuringly to the duo, exited to have a new person, and to make Kiryu her new maid once they get to her apartment but she'll keep that for later
Kiryu returns with some paperwork and to everyone's surprise.
"I have a quirk…. The Doc couldn't really be sure on what it is but he says it exists in me, I'll probably find out what it does later down the road."
"Wait what!? I mean, some people awaken theirs down the road in life so who knows what'll be yours" Kamui woods curiously says
"Anyway, considering you're still in custody, Takeyama's gonna take over and is gonna take ya under her wing for now. Welcome to the new world pal!" Death Arms says with glee…. And makes a run for it with Woods.
"I have the creeping suspicion that they left me with you because they didn't want someone like you with them" Takeyama jokingly says knowing that is exactly why they left her.
They take a walk as she does her patrol work for the day
"Well then lets go… Kiryu-Chan~~ Ahahaha don't worry Kiryu-san I wont call you that- wait something tells me you've gotten that as a nickname before" Yu says out of curious glee.
"Who is it eh?" Takeyama says attempting to goad Kiryu into saying something dumb like his childhood crush.
She continues to walk in silence as the tension rises for her as she wants to know.
"Uh- Well, I had this friend of mine, I don't even know if it was a friendship or something else" Kiryu awkwardly says as Mt Lady goes "Mhm go on"
"His name was Goro Majima, he was…." Realizing he might be revealing too much about his hidden Yakuza life swiftly changes how he describes him.
"An interesting fellow and always wanted to fight me, always schemed the weirdest ways to fight me, like hiding in a trashcan, hiding in an inconspicuous gigantic traffic cone, hiding inside a manhole, appearing in random fights I get into," He is rubbing his chin reminiscing of the "good" times with him "he was…. Everywhere, Overtime he did less of this and just wanted to fight me whenever I need something from him or vice versa"
"He must be tough always going toe to toe with you huh? His tenacity is insane it actually inspires me a little." Takeyama replies with a bit of curiosity and awe.
"Well, there were many of his friends that wanted to fight me too we'll get to that at a later time though, when you're ready." Kiryu confidently says sealing his secret from her.
"Aw man I wanted to know more but I respect your privacy" Mt Lady facepalms slightly before being interrupted by the man going to a crying child asking asking the child whats wrong
Substory 1: Mighty Goose Chase
"Hey kid, what's wrong?"
"These high schoolers stole my All Might plushie!" The child barely mutters this out as she was crying everything out like it meant everything to her. "Where did they go?" Kiryu, not really caring to know who this 'All Might' individual is at the moment, asks in urgency. "That way!" The child exclaims.
"Kiryu-san we shouldn't waste our time on this, she can just get a new-" Mt Lady says attempting to stop Kiryu only to realize he is already making a run for it towards the delinquents. "sigh, oh well" she joins the run with him.
Kiryu, catches up, says "Hey! Return that toy to the kid, what kind of person steals from a child anyway?"
The young adults retort with "It's a limited edition run, everyones out to get them. We just snagged the opportunity from this kid!"
Kiryu now frustrated from this entire ordeal calmly says "So? You're still stealing from a kid, that's wrong on so many levels"
The delinquents already wanting to get away from this situation, nearly about to engage in a fight with him and saying "Bring it on gramps! Scared?" one of the 5 pulls out a knife and two grab brass knuckles they found.
Kazuma cracking his knuckles preparing to knock some sense into the kids, begins to glow blue. The one with a knife starts to run at the man, but kiryu catches the arm in which he is wielding the knife, kneeing the boy's arm and punching him square in the face.
Takeyama watches from the back of the alleyway intrigued how this man fights.
The man then grabs the 1st teen with the brass knuckles and smashes his face twice with his fists then slams his head on his head knocking him out, the 2nd one rushes in confident the 1st one made a distraction to drop kick the former yakuza onto the ground, only for his leg to hit the wall and for the Brawler to elbow it with enough force to bend it the wrong way, followed by a swift cresent kick to the head knocking him out too. The last one, unarmed, makes a run for it before being cuffed by Mt Lady.
"Nice moves you got there." She says to Kiryu with a bit of sass thrown in.
"Now with you! Kid, didn't your mom ever tell you not to steal from strangers!?" The not-so currently giant hero scolds at the teen. "I'm bringing you to your parents I have no say in this" She calls the police department to pick the kid up and bring him to his parents.
"There you go kiddo, here's your plushie" The kind man gives the plushie to the child. But as he heads off he hears the child cry again.
"Its ruined!" The kid crying as loud as she can before Kiryu, surprised, turns around.
"You want me to get a new one?" Kiryu asks concerned for her sake
The child responds with "N-no you don't have to, I'll just be here waiting for my parents" while wiping her tears away
Takeyama a bit inconvenienced by this says "You heard the kid, we gotta go."
Kiryu already feeling really bad for the kid, says "We still gotta get the kid that plushie, or should I say me…. You stay here I'll go to the arcade machine right up the sidewalk" Kiryu walks to the arcade.
"He really is something huh?" She mutters to herself as she waits for Kazuma to finish getting that plushie for the kid.
She notices something about him as he attempts to do the claw machine, she sees the fierce passion in his eyes as every attempt could cost a bit of yen, but more importantly, the time he has wasted before the girl's parents arrive. Minutes pass and hundreds of yen wasted, "This is my last attempt" Kazzy says to himself "Lets Go!" He grabs for the leaver and delicately but fiercely make the claw go down on the All Might Plushie he desires, each finger of the claw causes him to shake, held by the strand of his hair, every inch that makes it closer and closer to the chute then the machine unclasps itself, causing the doll meant to resemble the symbol of peace to fall. Kaz pumps his hand in what can only be described as raw and pure joy and euphoria as he finally gets what the child desires.
"Here kid, got you a new one" The man says with both exhaustion and joy
The child is now crying but because this man went out of his way to get him a new one "Thank you so much mister!" The kid's parents arrive at the nick of time just to pick her up and for them to thank him for getting their daughter a new plushie of the beaten up one.
"Thank you so much for getting our daughter a new one, she was practically bawling her eyes out when she got the 1st one" The mother of the family says
"You can have this one mister, I don't need it anymore." The child hands the figure to Kiryu.
"Sadly… the beaten up one is the more accurate depiction of All Might, we just haven't gotten that news to the kid yet." The Father enters the conversation glad that he made his child happy.
"Huh, what happened?" Kazuma asks out of concern, but the parents signal that its time to go so he just saves that question for Yu to answer.
"Huh… Never knew he had such a soft spot for kids…" Takeyama whispers to herself.
"I used to raise one you know?" Uncle Kaz says to her but in a quieter tone.
"EEP-! Y-you heard me?! What happened to them?" Mt lady says in a tone of surprise and intrigue.
"It's a long story… I'll get to it once a week or two passes…" The Former owner of the Morning Glory Orphanage says in an almost sad yet optimistic tone.
Reading that their situation and relations cant call for those shots yet, Yu retracts her statement and goes "Well then, now with that out of the way I can continue giving you a tour around here, don't worry it won't distract me from work since this is part of the job!"

A/N: I forgot to mention that there would be some parts of the original yakuza that i would make supernatural off the bat, its only the heat system. anyway thank you so much to the 40 people who read this :DD you guys are a big reason to my drive to do this.
