Splinter's P.O.V.
I knew little in the first few months of my life. Soon however I was taken in, and shown love by a young couple who became, to me, my parents. They cared for and fed me, gave me a name, Splinter.
I Soon began to learn by observing those around me. Particularly Papa and Uncle, and because of this I had another name for Papa, Master Yoshi. For the first few years we were happy, a family.
This did not last forever.
At first I cared for Nagi as I did Mama & Papa, Uncle Saki & Aunt Amaya. Soon however I saw it. Mama did not recognize at first, but being of more base instincts I did. He was attempting to mate with her. I knew he would not be successful, though he was determined. I found it, sad. I could barely comprehend human emotions at the time, but I felt sorry for him. Something I later learned was called pity. This too did not last.
I like Mama let it be. Later however he did not take the rejection so well and attacked. He was unsuccessful as Papa arrived and defeated him, but it was too much and Nagi was dead. We fled and spent 8 years in this city, New York, before once again things changed.
It was very different from Japan, but somehow it was refreshing. At first it seemed like a grand new adventure to this simple Rat.
I continued to learn from Master Yoshi and we lived somewhat mundane lives compared to what things were like before. This ended when Uncle Saki came.
At first I had thought he was there to visit and I was overjoyed.
I soon learned that this wasn't the case as he attacked my mother. She fought valiantly, but it wasn't enough. Soon she was made close to death and I weeped for the first time in my life and called out to her.
I could not bare to make a noise as he just sat at the table in the only remaining chair, waiting.
Papa soon arrived, and I could tell that he knew something was wrong.
Saki attacked, but Papa was prepared. He then went for his sword and fought back.
The intensity of the fight quickly increased. They both fought well, but in the end Saki was successful. As Papa fell he crushed my cage and in that instant my rage escaped with me and I attacked biting and clawing at Saki's face.
In his retaliation I lost my ear. As I hit the ground, I knew my father was dead.
Then to both my and Saki's surprise, an old man entered. it was the the land lord, Mr. Sanders. He brandished his cane and on his left shoulder was a brightly colored creature covered in feathers he called Amelia. Sanders must have heard the noise and come to help. Unfortunately he did not last even as long as mother. First his cane was broken, then his throat slit.
Amelia, who seemed quite agitated, then did something unexpected and lifted the hot soup pot that had been cooking on the stove and flung it at Saki. She then went about pecking and scratching at his back, but like with me it did not last and she was flung to the ground where he struck at her right wing.
I went to her with the intent of helping. She however began to fly despite the damage and I was taken in her talons. We flew through the same window from which Saki entered. In-spite of the rain we somehow managed to fly to safety.
Despite Amelia's company, for the first time in for as long as I can remember I was now alone.
Saki's P.O.V.
It was over. My Brother's killers vanquished, and I was alone. The old man who had interrupted was dead, the fool. I would not have killed him had he not intended to interfere, to aid Those who had betrayed me, betrayed my Family. But it was of no consequence. Splinter had fled with the bird. A shame, but there was nothing I could do about it now.
I had struck him in anger. I regretted it, but again it could not be helped.
I closed the door of the apartment and went to the bathroom to clean and examine my wounds.
I first examined my face, it was startling what could not be felt in battle.
On both sides along with my forehead, and even my neck were the results of hot broth hitting me. On the right side from Splinter there was an unclear bundle of blood, and scratches, and in some spots dangling flesh. There were also the marks left by Shen. There was a cut on my left shoulder and two more on my right thigh from Yoshi. And finally on my back was 9 strait lines with seven impressions of the Beast's beak. How unsightly. But I would not hide, I would display the marks proudly when needed, though I suspected only the marks left by Splinter and the Bird would scar.
Regardless I cleaned the wounds and once again looked upon my face. Even with the scarring I recognized the face looking back at me. And yet, the more I looked the less like that of Oroku Saki it seemed to me. I knew who I was, yet the face did not seem to be mine.
This feeling persisted, but I ignored it. I had a family to return to. A Wife and Daughter.
I headed out not wanting to be there when someone discovered the bodies, whether it be a few hours or days. They would be found, yet no one would know who was responsible. The irony was that those dead on the floor were responsible. they had sealed their own fates when they killed Nagi, and when they betrayed me.
It was over. I could walk away satisfied. The deed was done. At long last the burden was lifted from my shoulders.
It was over, I was finally free.
