Four POV

"-our? Four? Four!" I hear Zeke's voice snap me out of my reverie.

"Yeah?" I ask sounding like an idiot even to myself.

Zeke just gives me a exasperated look saying, "Did you even hear anything I was saying?"

I sheepishly shake my head. He rolls his eyes but a teasing grin, "What were you dreaming about. You looked pretty lost."

I think about whether I should tell him or not but he is my best friend and deserves to know. So I cautiously say, "Well I was thinking about Tris and my date." As I expected he lets out a loud shriek well squeal actually but I don't want to hurt his pride so I don't say that.

"When? Where? How? Did you guys kiss yet?" Zeke starts spouting what seems like an endless reserve of questions. So I raise my hand to stop his babbling. Once he calms down I say, "Okay Zeke now that your teenage girl spirit is over. Let me tell you."

He interrupts again, "Ok ok tell me everything from the beginning." Weird, he didn't even acknowledge the teenage girl comment. I don't get why he is so obsessed with my love life? I shake it off and reply,

"Fine so you already know till the hospital right?" I pause and he nods confirming.

"When you left after dropping me Tris stayed and so we watched a movie at the end though she kinds fell asleep on me and I didn't want to wake her so I let her sleep on my shoulder but then I fell asleep on the couch too. And we kinds ended up…um…" I stuttered the last bit but Zeke suggests, "Cuddling?"

I almost agree but then realize something, "Wait! How did you know?"

He just gives me a sly look and pulls something up on it saying, "Y'know I wanted to check up on you so I stopped by your house and what I found was this." Then he turns the phone to me and I can feel myself reddening.

On the phone he has a picture of me and Tris on thee couch. Cuddling. And I have to admit it looks pretty adorable especially Tris. She has her head on my chest and one of my arms is protectively wrapped around her waist. I quietly snatch Zeke's phone and forward the picture to my phone.

Zeke gives me a look as I do this. I simply return the favour by flipping him off. Zeke being the mature one (note the sarcasm) sticks his tongue out at me.

Then I continue the story, "Well after that she got up in the morning and left a note for me. Sometime later after I woke up I got bored. So I decided to go to Tris' house. When I got there she was about to sort through her parents' things."

Zeke sucks in a breath at this it's obvious he still cared about them. He then says in a quiet voice,

"Thanks for taking care of her yesterday. I know the loss of her parents was hard on everyone but she took it the hardest. She loved them the most. Still does."

I just nod my head, I know the love Tris has for them, and continue, "Then I helped her sort through the stuff. After we were done she made spaghetti and I had dinner over there. Later we were just sitting on the couch and she told me everything about her parents. Caleb and the accident and how Caleb left." My hands clench into fists just thinking how much pain Caleb caused her.

Zeke whistles slowly, "Dude. She must really like you then. Heck, only a few people know the whole truth and only because they were there. Trust me this is huge. Oh sorry I'm ranting. Please continue.

I just give him a weird look before continuing, "Well then she was sort of crying and I hugged her to comfort her after a few minutes she stopped and then pulled away. And we talked a bit again. Then we were just staring at each other. And the I don't know who leaned in or it happened but…but we kissed."

I let out a breath at that point I hadn't even realized I was babbling now. Zeke looks at me in shock saying,

"Damn Four I didn't know you were that fast." He then shakes his finger at me pretending to be angry.

I just wave him off and start again, "Then I told her my name-" Shit. I curse myself and look at Zeke.

He looks back at me an incredulous look on his face," Wait. So you told her your real name."

I just nod afraid to speak. Then a slow grin spreads across his face as he says, "Man you both have it bad."

My face suddenly feels hot and I look away. Zeke just laughs at my misery before waving his hand at me to continue.

I glare at him before saying, "Then after some debate with myself I asked her out on a date. And thankfully she said yes. So we went to the fair. It was a lot of fun. After that we sat in her house and talked for a bit." I hope Zeke doesn't ask what we talked about because then I'd have to lie to him. I didn't want him knowing that I'd told my past to someone I had met just weeks prior rather than him who'd been my best friend for years.

It wasn't like I didn't want to tell him. I'm just scared to how he will react. Would he run away calling me a coward? Or would he stay? And speaking about it was painful so I just avoided the topic in general.

But before he asks I continue, "Then we slept. The End."

He cheers then says, "Well I'm happy you found someone but let me warn you if you ever hurt her. You'll have me to answer too."

"Wouldn't dream of it Zeke" I assure him. But I know he is serious he is a pretty fun and easy-going guy in general but if you threaten or hurt his family or friends it can get real ugly, real fast.

"Good. Now-" He is cut off by the arrival of Will who says, "Come on Tris has called a meeting."

We look at him quizzically wondering what this is about. He simply shakes his head and motions us to go saying, "You'll find out soon enough."

At the meeting room I can see almost all of our group here including Tori. I wave at her and go over to Tris who has her back turned. I tap her on the shoulder with a quiet hey.

She turns around a smile on her face but her eyes look worried. I silently ask her what happened.

She sighs then replies, "I'll tell once everyone is here. I don't want to repeat it twice. Is Uriah here? Thank God now everyone is here, have a seat Tobias. This is gonna be a bit stressful."

I glance at her worried but leave and drop into a seat next to Zeke. Who immediately asks, "So did she tell what happened?"

I shrug and shake my head, "She is going to tell everyone now. Just waiting for them to come." I look around to see how many are left. It's only Will. I wish he'd hurry up I'm getting really anxious as I watch Tris pace up and down the meeting room deep in thought. The rest of them look just as anxious as me or looking at Tris worriedly.

Just then Will rushes into the room, shutting and locking the door behind him. I feel even more anxious now.

Tris stops pacing and looks at him questioningly. He just nods as if answering an unspoken question. I'm starting to feel seriously left out now before I can say or ask anything Christina interrupts,

"Will anybody tell me what's happening here?"

Tori agrees saying, "That's what I'd like to know. What's going on Tris?"

Tris takes a deep breath to collect her thoughts, I suppose and finally starts speaking, "So you guys already know our rivalry with Erudite. And their ties with the mafia too. I think they understood how close my parents were to exposing the truth so the accident wasn't an "accident", now before you object I have proof. I checked up on the details of the car and the driver. The driver was one of Erudite's associate and the car was a unnamed one which I traced back to one of Coulter's men."

She pauses to take a breath. There is pin drop silence. No one dares to breath. Then she continues,

"As you all know a car recently crashed into Four too."

I look at her confused but then the dots start connecting in my mind and suddenly the pieces start falling into place. Shit. I hope this isn't going where I think it is.

She takes another deep breath and speaks, "Well I traced that car down too. The circumstances were practically the same. One of Coulter's car and Erudite person. Just this morning I received a note too."

There are gasps heard around the room. Tori shakily raises her hand and says once Tris nods, "I received the note too. Are they really going to these lengths?"

Tris looks mad now I suppose she hates when people threaten her family. She clenches her fists for a moment and finally grits out, "Yeah they don't want themselves exposed. Even if we take this to police they won't do anything. Jeanine has half the Chicago PD in her pocket. We have to do this on our own."

She says the last part determinedly I feel a rush of fiery pride towards her. This brave, smart girl is my girlfriend. It still feels surreal to me.

Then Christina asks, "But how are we doing this?"

Tris smiles a sly smile and exchanges a glance with Will who nods and goes out. I look at her curious what she is doing. She catches my look and mouths You will see.

Then she addresses the rest of us saying, "Well we had a few cases with Erudite this past weeks. And we noticed something strange. The witnesses had blank looks on their faces and said their lines like they were programmed into them. Their eyes were unfocused too. We did some digging and found that recently Erudite had started ordering huge supplies of chemicals and laboratory equipment. Now what does a law firm want to do with that stuff?"

We all look at her in shock but she just waves her hand and gestures for the person to come in. Will enters with someone in tow. The girl looks a lot like him so I assume that she must be his sister. But what's she doing here. I look at Zeke who looks back with the same blank look.

Then we both shrug and turn back to watch Tris. She smiles at Will's sister and they exchange a few words. Tris then turns to us and starts, "So guys this is Cara, Will's sister." She waves towards Cara who gives us a smile and small wave. We all smile back but we are still confused.

Then Tris sensing the confusion continues, "She's here to spy for us." She pauses again to let that sink in. Spy?

The she speaks again, "Yes. Spy. Now Cara was in New York branch of Candor before this so she has plenty of experience working. She will join Erudite to act as a spy for us. In the meantime the rest of us have to deal with our regular cases as well as we have to dig up everything we can against Erudite and have a solid proof to back us up. Now for the security. I want us to stick together as much as possible. Use the buddy system."

There are a few snorts at this. But Tris doesn't look amused. She angrily slams down her hand and glares at each and every one of us. Her glare is terrifying enough to make me flinch and the rest shut up instantly.

"I'm not joking guys. Stick together. You saw what they did to my parents. You saw what they did to Four and he didn't even do anything he just saved me from being hit by one of Coulter's men. Now we are trying to expose them the stakes are much higher and if they find out they'll do anything to stop us. We don't even have the police on our side. So watch each other's backs and stay careful. Tori stay with Bud as much as possible. Shauna with Zeke, Uri and Mar, Will with Chris and-" But before she can say anything she is interrupted by Christina who says with a teasing smile,

"So you're with Four, right?" Tris just smiles at her saying yes. I feel a grin on my face and Zeke nudges me. I smack his arm away but the grin stays on my face.

Tris then snaps her fingers saying, "So? All clear?"

We all nod our heads then she continues, "Now for what each of you are going to do. Me and Four will be going through some of my parents' old files I found and gather the evidence they discovered. I'm also thinking about some business we could do with Erudite. I could go there and "accidentally" get "lost" and oh I don't know somehow find some "weird things"" At that we all grin at the dramatic tone Tris is using.

It's a good plan but that doesn't mean I have to like it she's putting herself in a lot of danger for this. So I raise my voice and say, "Yes you'll go but only if I come with you. I know you can protect yourself but Jeanine's smart and she also has the Mafia backing her. So you like it or not I'm coming."

Tris mulls this over thinking hard but comes to the realization that it's right and grudgingly admits, "Fine."

I smirk at her and she sticks her tongue out at me. Then Uriah calls out, "Oh Gods! Stop flirting you two. Tris get on with the rest of our work."

I sit down my cheeks flaming but I can see that Tris is blushing too so that makes me feel better. She then continues with a glare at Uriah, "Next Will's our tech guy. He's going to try and hack into Erudite cameras. I had a few people go there and the reports I got back were kind of strange. They said that and I quote, 'the people were just rehearsing lines looking like robots meanwhile Jeanine asked them questions. There were injections lying around in the dustbin. And there was a huge monitor in Jeanine's office which looked like a controller or something. It had readings of brain waves and algorithms as if the program was telling people what to do.'"

"Then we also managed to find out the chemicals she was using and Will looked into everything along with a few others and they came to the conclusion that Jeanine is using serums. Some type of mind controlling ones but I also guess she has memory ones because some people I sent came back with their memory blank but others could remember exactly what happened. So my guess is that some people can resist them while others can't. We'll have to be extremely careful.

Right now we are trying to find some inoculation against this serums with some friends of mine. I'll tell later." She adds seeing our expressions.

"Next Chris, Uri, Mar read up on their cases try to find if someone was wrongly convicted and try to find a proof against them. Zeke and Shauna check into the criminals they have defended pull out their cases and check if they can be found guilty with strong evidence. Lynn is safe for now she's working with David and Matthew to find the inoculation for the serums. For now the meeting is dismissed."

One by one everyone gets over their shock and leaves to do their work. Chatting among themselves till only Tris and I remain. She doesn't notice that I'm still here and sinks down into a chair and puts her head in her hands groaning softly.

I go over to her and hug her from behind. She melts into my arms sighing softly. Quietly I whisper in her ear, "You okay?"

She turns back burying her head in my chest and mutters into my shirt, "Yeah. I just hope none of the others get hurt and that we can find what this is about once and for all."

I press a kiss to her forehead and say, "Don't worry Tris everyone will be fine and we will figure this out. Together."

"Together." She echoes and we stay like that for some time just taking comfort in the other's presence.

A/N So that was it. They are now finally making a move against Erudite. Also in this one David is actually on Tris' side. I was planning on David having a bigger role but in the end decided not to.
