Aizawa sat at the front of the class, lecturing Bakugo about calling the rest of the class extras yet again.

Mio rolled her eyes, "What if he's the extra and someone else was the main character?"

I couldn't help but smile, "Like who? Deku?"

She shook her head, "Nah, Aizawa. This story is about how he doesn't fall to the temptation of alcoholism even though it seems like the only way to survive teaching this class."

I couldn't help but laugh, scaring myself. I was afraid someone might overhear us.

No one seemed to notice.

Mio and I have been in this class since year one. We tested in when dad had to move to the police station nearby. It was for the best… it got us away from the memories that haunted each of us.

Since we came to this school, we've managed to go completely off the radar. When we first got here, some of the students, like Ochako, tried to get to know us but we didn't give much and eventually she moved on, every now and then she tried but it seems like most of them forget we're here sometimes.

Ochako seemed nice and I could tell she really wanted to get to know us but personally, I prefer being just the two of us.

Aizawa even stopped really calling on us for anything in class. We're both straight-A students so he knows we don't need the extra quizzing.

I think he even has Mr. Toshinori and Mic in on it, they don't really bring to us attention either.

Mio rolled her eyes, "I swear if he weren't great he'd be so annoying. Like how do you even have a voice anymore? You're always shouting, dude."

I shrugged, "You should just tell him you like him."

She shook her head, "Yeah, okay, I'll tell Bakugo how I feel when you tell Electro-Dork."

I felt the warmth in my cheeks from the blush. I knew I shouldn't have told her.

She shrugged, "You didn't even have to tell me. I knew the moment it formed. I saw the look on your face."

I couldn't help but glare at Mio, I hate that she knows me too well. That's what happens when you're with someone for so many years.

It's still not fair. She needs to stay out of my head.

Aizawa sighed, "Alright, I've had enough. You can go to lunch. I don't care if it's too early, I am done with this."

Mio shrugged, "I'm telling you, he's either a secret alcoholic or he's fighting the urge so bad. Like, I'm telling you, he's minutes away from giving up the fight."

I nodded as I gathered my things, "I think he's fighting the urge. I believe he's strong enough. He'll make it to graduation. I believe in him. He's got this."

I heard her sigh, "I don't know. He would have to be a saint to not even think about drinking."

"I didn't say he didn't think about it." I pointed out, "I just think he's fighting the urge and that alone should earn him sainthood."

She shook her head, "No, dealing with Mic earns him sainthood, dealing with this class, that makes him God."

We laughed as we made our way to the cafeteria.

I looked through the food in the cafeteria and I wasn't too hungry, so I just got some vegetables.

Mio gave me a funny look as she joined me at our table, "That looks like the food I gave the guinea pig I had when we were 8."

I rolled my eyes, "Oh hush, leave me to my rabbit food."

She plopped a bowl of fries in front of me, "You know you want some."

I couldn't help but smile, "Thank you."

She nodded, "You bet."

"Ladies!" I jumped at Iida's loud, booming voice.

Mio waved as she ate her food, "Yo, what's up, Flash?"

Iida furrowed his brow, "I do wish you would stop calling me that. I am not an American superhero."

She shrugged, "No, but you run like one."

He shook his head and turned to me, "I stopped by to ask how you both did on the chapter exam last week, the results were posted online."

I didn't know that, I took out my phone, logging into my student grade book, I smiled, "I got a 97%!"

Iida bowed, "That's amazing, how about you, Mio?"

She sighed and looked at her phone, "96%"

Iida bowed again, "That's wonderful, I received a 100%, you both make me strive to be better, it's a great competition."

I smiled, he loves being at top of our class. His only competition really is Mio and me, Bakugo, and Momo.

Iida waved, "Enjoy your lunch ladies, I will see you back in class."

Iida is the only classmate who still talks to us. He makes sure as class rep, he keeps in touch with us and I don't mind.

I sighed and took out the book I was currently reading, "I wonder if I can finish this book before lunch ends."

Mio shrugged as she scrolled through her phone, "I'll time you."

I smiled and started reading.

By the end of lunch, I only had four more pages. I cursed the bell as it rang.

"Do you think Aizawa will let me finish the book?"

Mio shook his head, "Doubt it."

I pouted, "Four pages, four pages, and I will know if he will survive without the main character."

Mio looked at the book, "Well, judging by the number of pages you have, if it were only one or two pages he wouldn't have survived, if there were more, he did."

I rolled my eyes, "There's no way you can really know that."

She shrugged, "Finish the pages and see what happens."

When we got to class, I sank into my seat with the book and continued to read.

I was on the second to last page, the best friend is trying to convince him the main character who died would want him to live his life for her.

He's trying to decide.

He loved her so much.

"Miss. Kagayaku, am I interrupting anything?" Aizawa asked as he ripped the book from my hands.

I was startled and sank further, "No, sir."

The class stared at me, making my heart race.

Mio put a hand on my shoulder, "It's okay."

I watched Aizawa as he walked away with my book.

"Hey," Todoroki said as he faced us, "How long have you guys sat behind me?"

Mio shook her head, "We've sat here all year."

He looked shocked, "How did I not notice?"

She shrugged, "Maybe you lack spatial awareness?"

"How could I miss such hot girls?" Mineta yelled, falling out of his desk.

Aizawa rubbed his eyes, "Maki and Mio have been in this class for 3 years. I wondered how long it would take for any of you to pay them any attention."

Iida's arm shot in the air, "I knew they were here. They're great competition for the top of the class."

Bakugo turned to us, "What do you mean, I'm top of the class! They're just more background characters!"

Of all days to not wear a hoodie. I have nothing to hide my head in.

Mio rolled her eyes, "For all you know, we're the main characters."

He slammed his hand on the desk, "What did you say?"

I grabbed her hand, "Stop drawing more attention." I felt my heart racing. My anxiety is through the roof.

She squeezed my hand, "I'm so sorry, I didn't realize you were hard hearing, how's this?"

My jaw dropped as she lifted her middle finger to him.

The class got quiet.

My eyes shot to Aizawa, I didn't even see him at his desk.

He was on the floor, in his yellow sleeping bag, with his back to us.

Bakugo looked like he was going to blow a gasket, "Who do you think you are?"

"The names Mio!" She smiled.

Kirishima stood, grabbing Bakugo's shoulder, "Dude, chill, you don't want another detention."

If it was humanly possible, Bakugo would be steaming like boiling noodles.

Denki stood, his golden eyes looking between us and Bakugo, "Yeah, dude, come on, you know, turn the other cheek and all."

They forced Bakugo to sit down and they seemed to calm him down.

I glared at Mio as the class turned back to the front, watching Bakugo, "If I could kill you and get away with it, I would."

She shrugged, "Oh, come on, you can't live without me."

I shook my head, "I can learn to."

After a few minutes, Mic came in and took over the class. Singing for just about the whole lesson while Aizawa took a nap.

When class was finally over, I made my way to my locker, "You know, I can't believe you talked to Bakugo like that."

She smiled, proudly, "It was awesome, right?"

I shook my head, "Quite the opposite, actually."

She rolled her eyes, "Oh, come on Maki, it felt nice to shut Bakugo up for once."

"Okay," I shrugged, "But, did you have to pull so much attention to us?"

She waved her finger in my face, "Oh, nu-uh missy, I was not the one who pulled the attention on us. You were the one reading!"

"You encouraged it!"

She thought for a second before shrugging, "I mean, yeah, I did. But, you didn't have to go with it."

I glared, "It's my book, you know I can't resist it."

She threw her arm over my shoulders, "That sounds like a you problem my friend."

I sighed, "It is. But, it's not one I want help with."

"Hey!" We heard as Ochako walked up to us.

"Hey," Mio waved, "What's up?"

I felt my heart race a little, feeling suddenly shy.

Ochako smiled, "I just wanted to say hi and ask how you guys are doing."

Mio shrugged, "Life is as it always was."

Ochako nodded, "I understand that. Well, I just wanted to let you guys know, we're all having a party at the park later, it's mainly all of class 3A, so you guys are more than welcome to come."

Mio nodded, "Sounds like fun, we'll see you there."

My jaw dropped as Ochako walked away, "Why did you say we'd go?"

She shrugged, "It sounds fun. Plus, there might be free food."

I rolled my eyes, "Seriously?"

She nodded, "I kind of want to go."

I took a deep breath, trying to accept it.

Mio sighed, "It's okay. You don't have to go."

I was almost speechless. Me? Stay home alone?

I shook my head, "No. I'll go."

Mio's brows went up, "Really? Are you sure?"

I nodded, "Yeah, its been 3 years, I guess I should hang out with our classmates at least once."

Mio smirked, "Damn kid, I'm proud of you."

I rolled my eyes, "I'm not a kid."

She shrugged, "Yes you are, you'll always be five to me."

I sighed and continued the walk home. A part of me is so nervous about this. But, Mio will be there so I'll be fine. It's not likely anything will even happen while we're there. I doubt we'll even be noticed.
