When we got to class, Aizawa was too tired to bother with our planned lesson so he let us use the rest of the day as a free period. Which means, I get to read my book.

I started to feel a lot better as I went through the pages.

"Hey," I heard Jirou, "Wanna talk about rehearsals?"

I looked up as she sat in front of me, Denki sitting next to me, "Yeah, is there any time you're free?"

I shrugged, "I mean…" I glanced at Mio.

She shrugged, "We generally are free after school. We aren't in any extracurriculars."

Jirou nodded and wrote in a notebook, "I was thinking if we get Principal Nezu's permission we could use the music room on Tuesdays and Thursdays and maybe even Friday. The band and chorus don't have practice those days, so it'll be free. And, if we do that, the instruments are available so we don't have to lug everything around all day."

I looked to Mio, unsure of what to say.

She nodded, "Sounds good."

Bakugo rolled his eyes, "Geez, do you ever speak for yourself or does only one twin talk?"

Mio shrugged, "You're just mad because you're not important enough to have someone who can talk for you, you side character."

Bakugo glared but surprisingly said nothing.

Denki nudged me, "So, where'd you learn to sing?"

I picked at the pages of my book, "Uhh, well, our mom is an opera singer so we took lessons as kids."

Tokoyami joined us, intrigued, "So, do both of you sing?"

Mio made a dramatic sigh, "Due to extenuating circumstances, I have retired as a vocalist and I'm afraid I will never take it up again."

Bakugo raised his brow, "What circumstance?"

She shrugged with a smart-ass smirk, "Wouldn't you like to know."

He glared, this time growling, "You gotta problem?"

"Not particularly."

I shook my head, "I swear, you're going to give him an aneurysm."

She smiled, "If I'm lucky."

Denki moved closer, close enough so I could smell him, "So, you're a natural, with your mom being a singer. Is your dad into music too?"

I shook my head, "No, he's only into the music from his family, other than that, he's not a fan."

Jirou took out her phone, "So, what's your comfort genre? What are you the most comfortable singing?"

I shrugged, "Well, I don't know."

Mio leaned forward, "My client is best with a more alternative pop genre, you know the one that flows, like Avril or Paramore."

I raised my brow, "Your client?"

She nodded, "I figure if I'm going to speak for you I should have a title and I think manager suits me."

I shook my head, letting out a sigh, "You're incorrigible."

Jirou handed me her phone, "Here, put your number in, we can text and work out some songs to cover until we can start writing our own if that's what do decide to do."

I was shocked, I don't think I've ever given my number to anyone. I know Ochako has it but that's because Mio gave it to her.

Denki dug his out, "Mine too!"

I felt the blush. I especially never thought I would be putting my number in his phone.

Jirou took her phone back once I was done, "I'm going to send a group message so we'll each have your number. And yes, Bakugo, you need to save it."

He rolled his eyes, "Yeah, yeah, yeah."

I looked at Mio, I wasn't sure how to feel about this.

She smirked. I'm doing good. I'm handling this well.

For the rest of the day, we just spent it chit chatting while Aizawa took a nap behind his desk.

When the bell rang, Mio and I walked to our lockers, changing our shoes.

I sighed, "I can't believe I did that."

Mio shrugged, "I'm proud of you. I knew you could do it. Think about how excited dad will be when you tell him."

I bit my lip, "I don't know if I want to tell him."

She raised her brow, "Why not? You tell dad everything."

I nodded, "I know I do."

She shrugged, "So, what's so different about this?"

I sighed, "I don't want him to freak out."

She nodded, "Yeah, he does do that."

"Ladies!" I heard Denki's energetic voice, "Your chariot awaits you!"

Mio smirked at me, "Yeah, princess, your chariot."

I raised my brow, "Ours?"

She shook her head, "I'm no princess, I'm just a peasant along for the ride."

I felt slightly relieved. I thought she was going to tell me I was riding alone.

We followed Denki to his car and he held the door open for me again.

Mio pushed on the seat, "He's such a gentleman."

Denki grinned as he started the car, "So, which way is home?"

Mio gave him the directions. She's better at it than I am.

When we got home, Denki grabbed my bags for me, carrying them to the door, "I'm so glad you chose to join our band!"

I shrugged, "It would be nice to have something to do after class."

He waved after setting the bags down, "I'll see you guys tomorrow! Have a good night!"

I watched him walk out. The butterflies causing somewhat of a storm. I never he'd be at my house.

Mio sighed as she sat down with her mystery bags, "Time to crack these open."

She started with the Sailor Moon bags.

The first one she opened, Sailor Moon, making me smile. This is the tenth one she's gotten.

The next one, Artemis. This is the third one.

Then Mercury. Second one.

Chibi Moon. Her fourth one.

Tuxedo Mask. She cheered, another one she can cross off.

Venus. Her second one.

Jupiter. She got super hyped. Two of the four she needed.

Artemis, again.

Mars. Three out of four. She has one left and only needs one more.

And her last one, Artemis. Wrong cat.

She groaned, "Great! Now I have to go get more!"

I rolled my eyes, "How much money have you spent on those things?"

She glared, "How much do you spend on books?"

I avoided her gaze, she has a point.

"Exactly." She glared, "I don't judge how you spend your allowance, don't judge how I do it. It takes me forever to do those extra chores just to earn my allowance."

She grabbed the Death note box, "Alright, on to the next addiction."

She opened her first one, Ryuk.

She smiled, "Oooh, yes, my favorite Shinigami."

The next one, Light Yagami.

She shrugged tossing him over her shoulder, "Not interested."

She opened the next one, Misa Amane.

She smiled as she crossed them off of her list.

The next one, Rem.

Not a single double yet.

The next one, Near.

Then Mello.

Then another Ryuk, making her pout.

Then another Light… and another and another…

She got four Light Yagami's. I couldn't help but laugh. He's her least favorite character and she got the most of him.

She pouted, "I don't know if I want to get more of these. I don't think I could stand opening so many Lights."

I shrugged, "Maybe it'll brighten up your life."

She glared, "Shameful joke."

I smiled, "I'm pretty proud of it."

As she started to clean up her mess my phone vibrated. It was a text:

Denki: Hey! I was looking into some songs we could cover.

What are some of your favorites? I wanna hear them.

I felt a blush cover my cheeks. I tried to think of some songs.

Me: Well, I listen to anything really so it's kinda hard to choose a favorite.

Denki: I'm the same way!

Me: ?

"Are you texting dad?" Mio asked as she lugged her trash to the kitchen, "Can you ask him for sushi for dinner?"

"Uhh," I hesitated, "It's not dad."

She raised her brow, "Then who? I'm right here."

I bit my lip, "It's Denki."

She looked surprised but then smiled, "Denki and Maki sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G, first comes love, then comes marriage then come a dinky little Denki baby."

My jaw dropped, "That's mean."

She sat next to me, looking over my shoulder, "Whatcha talking about?"

I shrugged, "Just music."

She gave me a thoughtful look, "Is that what the kids are calling it these days?"

I shoved her, "Oh shut it."

She shrugged and stood, "Tell him to send a cute little selfie and you can put it as your background photo."

I glared at her, "Shut up."

I heard my phone buzz but I ignored it.

If I answer it, Mio will just continue to tease me.

When she finally gave it up she grabbed her things, "I'm going to go add these to my anime shelf."

I nodded and stood, grabbing my backpack and bags, "I'm gonna add my books to my TBR shelf."

We parted ways.

It calmed me to sort my books out on the TBR shelf.

After I finished, I got started on my homework, completing the outline of the history chapter. It's a long chapter, this is going to take forever.

Hours went by, daddy poked his head in at some point to say hi and then again with a plate full of sushi.

I ate my dinner as worked and dad came in for my dishes.

He's such a good dad.

It took me a few more hours to finish the assignment but I eventually did.

I made my way to the kitchen and realized everyone was asleep. I looked at the time, it's almost midnight. Oops.

I sighed, grabbing my phone from where I left it on the couch.

I had a few missed texts, some from the group chat:

Jirou: So, I was thinking we pass each other our playlists and pick a few songs from each one to practice with.

Denki: Great idea!

Tokoyami: I'm in.

Bakugo: K.

Jirou: How does that sound, Maki?

Jirou: Maki?

Tokoyami: She's probably busy.

Denki: That or reading :D She hasn't answered my earlier texts either. Dx

Jirou: Well, we can always talk about it tomorrow.

It felt nice to have people who want to talk to me.

I looked at Denki's texts:

Denki: I'm so excited! I've always wanted to be in a band it's soooo cool

Denki: Sooo, did you finish that book you really wanted this morning?

Denki: I guess you're busy, text me back later!

Denki: I just wanted to say goodnight! Sleep good! Let the moon bless you with the best of dreams!

I couldn't help but smile, I thought about texting him back but that last message was two hours ago so he's probably asleep.

The butterflies fluttered. He's sweeter than I thought he was from far away.

I sighed and I dialed my moms' number.

"Hey! You reached Kameko! Sorry, I didn't get your call, leave a message and maybe I'll get back to you! And if you're one of my precious girls, mommy's sorry she didn't answer. I miss you both so much and remember, you're the best little miracles I could ever ask for! I love you!"

Hearing that always makes me smile, "Hey mom, it's Maki. I was just calling to let you know, I joined a band. It's a stupid little school band that'll probably never go anywhere but it's something. I miss you. I just wanted you to know that. I love you."

I hung up and tossed my phone down, I need sleep, like now.

I didn't even bother changing into pajamas. I'm so tired.
