Later that day, I pulled Mio aside, "Hey, when did you leave your book in Bakugo's car?"

She shrugged, "I didn't."

My brow went up, "Then why did you say you did?"

She sighed, "Everyone was laughing at him. He shouldn't be laughed at for his reading material. He's already so closed off and angry, this would've just made it worse."

"Hey." I heard Bakugo behind us, "Mio, can we talk?"

She put a hand on my shoulder, "Go get food. I'll catch up."

I nodded, not looking at Bakugo as I walked away. He's probably wondering the same thing I was. But, that was sweet Mio. I'm proud of her.

I walked through to the cafeteria, it was unusually full today. I sighed and shook my head, I'll spend half my lunch in that line if I try.

I took a turn and made my way to my tree.

I was surprised to see Denki standing under the tree, "Hey."

He smiled as he saw me, "Hey! Finally!"

I raised my brow, "Everything okay?"

He nodded, "Yeah, I just wanted to see if you wanted to hang out! We could talk about studying or something."

I couldn't hold back the smile, "Sure."

We sat under the tree and I sighed, "So, when do you want to start studying?"

He shrugged, "I mean, we should probably start today, right? The test is in a week and it's a long chapter."

I nodded, "Yeah, you're right."

He leaned back, "So, should we meet in the library after school?"

I shrugged, "We could go to my house, I can text my dad now. I'm sure he won't mind."

"What about your mom?"

I shook my head as I texted my dad, "She won't mind either."

He smiled, "I can give you and Mio a ride home on the days we study."

I let out a soft giggle, "Mio will definitely appreciate that."

I felt my phone buzz in my hand:

Dad: That's fine my pride and joy. I will meet this boy when I come home too. Love you.

I smiled, "My dad said it's fine."

Denki smiled with some excitement, "That's great."

Before I could say anything else, I heard my stomach grumble. I felt embarrassed.

Denki laughed, "Did you not get food?"

I shook my head, "The line was so long I didn't feel like wasting my whole lunch."

He kept laughing as he dug into his bag, "Here, I have some watermelon gummy rings, it's not much but they should help with the hunger!"

I blushed as I took one, slowly chewing on it.

He sighed, "Can I… Can I ask you something?"

I nodded, sipping from my water bottle.

He laid back in the grass, "Why haven't you or Mio ever interacted with our class before? You guys have always been quiet and never participated."

I froze. That's not what I thought he would ask.

I sighed, "Umm, well, I'm shy and I was afraid to make friends."

"Are you glad you did?"

I nodded, "I am. I'm excited to start the band. It's very different for me."

He sat up, "For the record, I know we haven't been friends for long but I'm glad you decided to try!"

I felt the blush making another appearance, "Thanks."

Denki took a deep breath, "It's nice to just sit here and relax sometimes."

I nodded.

"Hey, guys," I heard Mio as she walked up, "What's up?"

I noticed Bakugo was with her. I was somewhat surprised. He generally sits with Kirishima at lunch.

Denki shrugged, "Just hanging out."

They sat with us, Mio closest to me, "Where's your lunch?"

I shook my head, "I wasn't going to wait forever in that line."

She shrugged, handing me some rice balls, "It wasn't too long when Bakugo and I got there."

I smiled, grateful, "Thank you! Denki, do you want some?"

He shrugged, grabbing one, "Thanks."

Mio sighed, "So, I was talking to Tsu and she was telling me the test is long and some of the questions are tricky."

Bakugo shrugged, "It'll be fine."

I looked to Denki who looked stressed.

Mio shrugged, "Bakugo, will you study with me? I need to catch up."

He nodded but didn't say anything.

I shrugged, "Denki and I are studying at the house. I don't think dad will mind if Bakugo comes too."

Mio nodded and continued to eat her food.

We spent the rest of lunch, quietly eating.

When the bell rang, we walked back to class together.

I'm proud of myself, making friends, and participating.

During class, Aizawa clearly didn't want to be there. He wasn't trying too hard to teach us.

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket:

Denki: The last half of class is gonna go on forever!

I smiled, reading the message. I couldn't help but steal a quick glance, locking eyes with him for a quick second.

Me: Aizawa definitely doesn't want to be here.

Denki: Hey! He and I have something in common!

Me: lol that's terrible.

Denki: I couldn't resist

Me: Poor Aizawa

Denki: He's just as bored as we are lol

I laughed, I know he's right.

For the rest of the class, Denki and I texted back and forth. It was hard not to laugh out loud.

I either hid my texting very well or Aizawa really didn't care.

Mio and I went straight to our lockers after class. She sighed, leaning against the lockers, "I need a vacation."

I rolled my eyes, "The weekend is almost here."

She shrugged, "It isn't getting here quick enough."

I nodded, "But, there's one upside."

She raised her brow, "What's that?"

Before I could answer, Denki walked up, smiling, "Helllooooo ladies! Your chariot awaits!"

I smiled, "We have a ride home."

She seemed a little impressed, "Alright, not exactly a limo but it'll do."

Denki let out a small chuckle before taking off, us following.

"Hey." We heard stopping us, "Mio, can I talk to you?"

We turned and saw Bakugo.

She looked at me before nodding, "Yeah, no problem."

She took a step and turned, "Go home without me. I'll be home in a bit."

I was confused as she joined him, walking down the hall away from us.

Denki rocked back and forth on his heels, "Hey, are you ready? We can wait for Mio?"

I shook my head, "It's okay. She said to go home."

He swung his keys around his finger, "Okay!"

We made our way to the car and he held the door open for me like a perfect gentleman, making me blush and feel shy again.

He sighed as he started the car, "Wanna pick the music?"

I shrugged, "Sure."

He handed me his music device, "If you don't see anything you like you can plug yours in."

I scrolled through the list of songs as he got situated. I was surprised how similar his list was to mine. He has a little bit of everything.

I picked an old Paramore song and we began our drive.

He didn't ask me where to go. He remembered. I was shocked, I didn't think he would.

When we pulled up, he stopped me from grabbing the door handle.

He got out and ran around, opening my door, "Princesses don't open their own car doors!"

I let out a giggle as I blushed, "I'm not a princess."

He shrugged, "Can't change my mind. Sorry."

I shook my head as I unlocked the door. Before I pushed it open, I heard an engine behind us.

I looked over my shoulder and saw Mio and Bakugo getting out of his car.

That's sweet, he gave her a ride.

She shrugged as she walked up, "What are you gathered out here for? Waiting for an invitation? You aren't a vampire."

I shook my head, "You don't have to always be so snarky."

She nodded, "You're right but I like to be."

I sighed and pushed the door open, walking in.

Denki and Bakugo wandered around the living room, looking at the pictures on the walls. Mio walked past them to her room, head down as usual.

She came back in without her uniform on and stood by me.

Denki made his way to us by our big family photo my dad cherishes and he looked between us and the picture, "Hey! Who are these girls? I see Maki and I'm assuming that your dad but where's Mio? Do you have another sister?"

Mio rolled her eyes, "Seriously?"

He nodded, "These are blondes, you guys aren't blonde."

Mio looked at me before sighing, "I wasn't born with silver hair."

Denki raised his brow, "Really?"

Bakugo shook his head.

Denki blinked at her before looking back at the picture, "Whoa, you look so different."

Bakugo looked at the photo then Mio, "Is that your mom?"

We nodded.

Mio walked away, "She's never home though, so, don't expect to see her around."

I rocked back and forth on my heels, "Uhh, well I guess we should go get started, Denki."

Mio shook her head, "Good luck tutoring with that one."

Bakugo raised his brow, "You're tutoring Kaminari?"

I nodded.

Bakugo looked like he could laugh, "Yeah, good luck. I tried tutoring him and I got nowhere."

I glanced at Denki, he looked sad, "I'm sure it'll be fine."

Denki and I made our way into my room. I closed the door behind him, "I'm sorry Bakugo said that."

He shrugged, "It's fine. He's right, he got nowhere."

I sat at my desk and pulled another chair close, "Come on, let's get started."

We studied for well over an hour before dad burst through the bedroom door, "My little princess! Locked away with a boy? Unacceptable."

I glared at him, embarrassment coursing through me, "Dad!"

Denki jumped up, hand out, "Hi Sir! My name is Denki Kaminari, your daughter is kind enough to tutor me!"

Dad shook his hand, shocked, "Hello, Denki. Uhh, I guess I'll leave you but the door stays open."

I nodded, not looking up.

Denki sat back down, "Your dad does what, again?"

"A detective."

He nodded and let out a deep breath, "That's why he seems so scary."

I couldn't hold back the smile on my face, "He's not scary just intense."

We studied for another hour or two and Denki was making good progress, answering all the section quiz questions at least partially right. I was impressed.

I closed my book, stretching, "I think that's enough from tonight."

Denki's head dropped on his book, "I'm exhausted. My brain hurts."

I smiled, "Go home and get some rest."

He nodded and packed up his things, "That sounds like an awesome idea. I can hear my bed crying for me."

I couldn't hold back a giggle.

I walked Denki to the door, "I'll see you tomorrow. Text me when you get home."

He nodded and waved as he walked out.

I sighed as I closed the door. My heart can finally calm down.

I can't wait to see him again.
