Back at the penthouse Peeta comes into the living room as Haymitch and I were talking about our strategies.
"Katniss, good news! Almost half the tributes want you as an ally," he says.
"That's good," Haymitch says. "Who do you want?"
"Wiress and Beetee," I say.
"Really? Johanna calls them Nuts and Volts," Haymitch says.
"Yes," I reply.
"Fine," Haymitch says. "Anyone else?"
"Mags." I say. That makes Haymitch groan.
"Come on Katniss! You need allies that can actually protect you," Peeta says.
"The deal was that I had to choose allies. I chose some now deal with it," I say and I get up and leave the room.
I go to my room and Peeta doesn't join me for a while. I know they are both mad at me but I don't want the other tributes as allies. I just feel like they will betray me and I won't get out alive.
When Peeta finally came into the room it was late. I have my individual assessment tomorrow and I need sleep. We laid down together and I fell asleep holding Peeta.
When I woke up Peeta was gone. I found him sitting at the table with Haymitch and Effie.
"Katniss, what are you going to do for your assessment?" Peeta asks as I sit down.
"I don't know. I can't do archery again," I answer.
"Well you better figure it out sweetheart," Haymitch says.
"What are you doing anyway Haymitch?" I ask.
"I'm pretty good with a knife believe it or not," he answers.
Great. Now I need to find a skill to show off.
"Maybe I will show off my knot tying skills," I say.
"You can tie knots," Peeta asks in disbelief.
"Yes I learned it in training," I answer matter of factly.
*a few hours later*
Haymitch left for his assessment a while ago. All of a sudden hear my name called and I walk into the large room. There were a whole bunch of knife marks around the room's most important parts. Haymitch must have done it.
"Katniss Everdeen," the head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee says. "You have ten minutes to show your chosen skill."
I look around and decide what to do. I grab a rolling cart, a dummy, rope, and some paint and I get to work. To show off my amazing knot skills I tied a knot that Finnick showed me. A noose. I threw the rope over a beam and put the noose around the dummy's neck. Before I pull the dummy up I use the paint to write Seneca Crane on the dummy's chest. Then I pulled it up and tied a knot to secure it. I did a little bow to the startled gamemakers and left.
