I sat in the living room with Peeta, Haymitch, Effie and Cinna and waited for them to release the scores. Finally it started.

Many people got a ten or a nine. Only about five people got a lower score than that, but even then, it was high.

"And now, our tributes from District 12." Caesar said. "Haymitch Abernathy, with a score of 10."

Everyone was happy with Haymitch's score.

"Katniss Everdeen, with a score of 12," Caesar said in a surprised voice.

A 12? No one in the history of the games has ever gotten a score of 12.

"Good job Katniss," Peeta said as he kissed my head. "What did you do for them?"

"I used my knot tying skill to hang a dummy that said Seneca Crane on it," I answered.

Everyone looked at me with surprised and startled looks.

"Why would you do that?" Haymitch said angrily.

"I don't know. I just did," I said and that was the end of the conversation.

Peeta and I went back to our room and laid down together. Peeta rubbed my stomach.

"Hi little baby," he said. "I hope I get to meet you." He starts to cry.

Seeing him cry makes me cry. I might not make it out of the arena and I will never be a mom and Peeta will never be a dad. I might never be able to spend my life with the boy I love.

"I'll be ok," I say. "I will come out of that arena alive. We will have this baby together."

"That might not happen," Peeta says through his tears.

"Don't think like that. I won't leave you," I say.

All I can think about now is that I have to go into the arena the day after tomorrow. I have to go in with experienced killers who I might not be able to defend myself against. Haymitch was right. I need allies who can protect me. It's too late now. I just hope that if I die Peeta will find another girl who will love him.

*the next day*

Effie is working with me to prepare for my interview. All of a sudden Peeta comes into the room.

"Katniss, they want us to do your interview together," he says.

"You are coming with me?" I ask.

"Yes, they want to share our story one last time," he replies.

Great. Now I have to sit there and let them retell our love story that will never end happily.

*A few hours later*

It's time for the interviews. Cinna leads me into a room with a beautiful white dress hanging for me.

"A wedding dress?" I ask.

"Yes. I thought you'd want a simple dress," he says.

"It's beautiful," I say.

I put on the dress and wait with Peeta for our turn. Finally after Haymitch, we walk out onto the stage.
