The sound of cheers is almost unbearable. Between interviews the one chair was replaced by the love seat Peeta and I shared less than a year ago. Caesar gets up and takes my hand as I make it to the seat.
"Ah Katniss Everdeen! You look beautiful tonight!" Caesar says.
"Thank you Caesar," I say.
As I sit down with Peeta he asks, "I am correct that this would be the gown you would have worn at your wedding?"
"Yes, I thought the people of Panem would like to see it," I reply.
"You were definitely right!," he says, "And you Peeta?"
Peeta is wearing a white suit.
"Yes it would," he said.
"I am so sorry about your wedding. It breaks my heart that you two won't be together forever," Caesar says.
Before I can answer Peeta does. "We got married in secret," he says.
"A secret wedding?" Caesar asks.
"We have a special ritual in 12," I say. "We toast a piece of bread for our wedding." I look into Peeta's eyes and tear up. "It may not be official but I feel more married than any piece of paper can tell me."
"That's great!" Caesar says. "I'm so happy that you got to spend time together before the games."
"Yeah. It is great," Peeta says sadly.
"What's wrong Peeta?" Caesar asks.
"I wouldn't regret anything we did if it weren't..." He can't even finish the sentence. He is crying.
"If it weren't for what Peeta?" he asks.
All I can do is sit there in tears as Peeta says the rest of the sentence.
"If it weren't for the baby." Peeta says.
The crowd goes crazy. People screaming to stop the games. We were rushed off the stage and taken back to our apartment.
